I freaking love stalker films! the creepiest moments in everyone's lives is having a stalker in both indoor and outdoor.
The creepiest moment in ones life is when you discover that YOU are the stalker. That's creepy. Sometimes I give myself the creeps.

The Crush is one of my favorite movies from my teen years. I was absolutely obsessed with Alicia Silverstone.
Also, Fear....I learned so many of my moves from Mark Wahlburg. He was so smooth in that movie.
My favorite intense obsession movie is perfect blue i love that movie. Great list as always Emma
I just saw it a month ago. Ive never seen a film before that connects the viewer as much with the protagonist. At the end I really felt like I was in the movie in place of her. And going crazy just like her when the movie progresses. Its weird. But what a masterpiece.

I'm glad that Chloe (2009) is in your list in the description, it's such an underrated movie! Yeah okay, the ending is pretty crazy and ridiculous, but the rest of the film makes it worth the watch.
I'm so happy you put Creep & The Hand That Rocks The Cradle!! I'm a fan of stalker films too :) I think i't's probably because we are more normal than the stalkers, plus we are happy it's not us!?! Great countdown again!!
Ratter sounds similar to a movie called Alone With Her (2006). It involves a guy who sets up a bunch of hidden cameras in a woman's house and uses what he sees to become a part of her life. Very creepy and well done. P.S. The Gift is awesome :)

the manner in which Emma presents the list adds to the quality. The enthusiasm is just great. makes you want to watch all of them. Great presentation. just notice how she says The Fan , The Fan and finally The Fan. Great. Though I could not understand the meaning of the phrase Cookie Cutter. Also I really could not understand the "specific reason" she chose the order ? Lets see if anybody can find it out ? I request it to be a secret for a month. i will watch this video again a few times to see if I can find it out ? Let us see what can the reason behind the order. Another great stalker/ obsession film presented in the most comical manner is What About Bob ? its nowhere near horrar or thrillaar as she says but just came to my mind so I wrote about it.

@@spookyastronauts yes it was rather simple. Alternatively the stalker is male and female. But the manner you presented it really added to the challenge. Could you do a review of Truth or Dare ? And the best horror sequels ? Btw the list is great. well done
@@spookyastronauts and yes if we meet (hypothetically) then the entire bottle of sparkling wine will be for you. I will only have water with no ice. As the lead in the Wrong Missy has soda with lime. But you cannot beat water with no ice.
Cookie-cutter is an expression that refers to things that are all the same. She's saying these "cookie-cutter" movies are formulaic and predictable.
John Carpenter's "Someone's Watching Me!" is a great stalker movie that not enough people talk about.
So many great films that I love! The Gift is highly underrated and I am glad you included it on the list. Just rewatched Creep/Creep 2 this weekend!

One of my all time favorite is called Caché by Michael Haneke and it's not really horror, but it's a really well made stalker movie about a man who finds a tape left at his door with footage of his house and some weird drawings, he keeps receiving more tapes at his door, always footage of something that has to do with him... I'm bad at sharing the story of a movie without spoiling it, so just watch it!

OMG this was my absolute FAVORITE movie list! I had to save it because there are 3 I need to see. I really was delighted to see Fade To Black in here, as I had forgotten this movie from my childhood, when I would sneak up late at night and watch scary movies by peeking into the living room while my grandfather watched them. Unsane is one that I always talk about because I love that it was all done with an iPhone.
Thank you for including Ingrid Goes West! I love that movie so much. It is in my top 10 of all time and one of my comfort movies ❤️ The character Nicky is such an underrated villain!

The Loved Ones (2009) is a great Australian film that I think fits perfectly in the obsession/stalker category. Lola is such a great and creepy character, highly recommend if you haven't already seen it!
The Gift is SO good, and so CREEPY. Also, really love Rebecca Hall. And of course Duplass and CREEP can do no wrong. Great list as always, Emma!
The Hole 2001(with thora Birtch and Kiera knightly) is a disturbing 'obsessed ' movie that I think is underrated and never gets mentioned anywhere

I was surprised at what you didn’t say about The Exorcist (1973)! For that time period, that movie was over the top! I remember my mother who was Superintendent of St John’s Ambulance being called to have Brigade members in attendance! It was known for how negatively it affected some viewers! (fainting, screaming, running out in absolute fear, some believing they were possessed, some were hospitalized and treated in a Psychiatric facility)! I’ve never seen it and won’t because of how it affected my mother! Suffice it to say, 1973-1975 were not good years in our home!

Hi, Emma! I’m so glad you mentioned He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not! I had just happened upon this film once, and stayed with it throughout, because Audrey Tatou ( I think I spelled that right) was attached to it! You’re right about the fact that it was predictable; but I was absolutely fascinated with Audrey Tatou’s performance, given the fact that previously I had seen her in DaVinci Code, and , of course, the wonderful Amelie!

Hi Emma , Glad you like Cape Fear. One of my favourite somewhat campy films. Seems to intentionally go over the top a few times. Very clever film.
Great list. Even though I have seen almost 4000 movies, you always manage to point out interesting ones I have yet to see. For my favorite stalker movie, I would have to say Eden Lake (2008). Keep up the good work!
I love Eden Lake! But I think of it more as an invasion film
Another criminally overlooked stalker movie is: Eye of the Beholder (Ewan McGregor, Ashley Judd).

The ending of the "Gift" was crazy
I love stalker films! One of my favorites that didn't make your list is "In Their Skin"! Great cast with Selma Blair, Rachel Miner, and James D'Arcy.
By watching the list, it brings me beautiful memories from my past when I started discovering stalker movies. Some of them, I didn’t remember I watched long time ago, such as: Fear, Cape Fear, and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle ( a classic one). Emma, I really love your lists as usual.

Very awesome list you've got there. I've seen most of these movies. I will be buying Unsane, eventually. I watched Play Misty For Me for the first time last year, and, really enjoyed it. Absolutely loved Cape Fear. The Crush is also a favorite of mine.
I would recommend the movie Striking Distance (1991). That is about a cop being taunted by a serial killer. It stars Bruce Willis and Sarah Jessica Parker.
I would also recommend a movie called Stalked. It is from the early 90's. It is about a man that becomes obsessed with a single mother,and her son. This movie stars Jay Underwood.

The nursing scene in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle where they trick you into thinking she is going to smother the baby is still one of the best mind fuck scenes of all time

Great list Emma. If you like movies that revolve around stalkers then i'd highly recommend the Spanish language movie Julia's Eyes, it's pretty scary & a great movie that i don't hear mentioned very often.

"Windows" from 1980, starring Talia Shire and Elizabeth Ashley. It was the "Single White Female" before Single White Female, but was overlooked and swept under the carpet due to its controversial content at the time. Great list and nice to see "Berlin Syndrome" on your list of honorable mentions!!

Alone With Her (2006) is a good obsession/stalker movie. Not a filmmaking masterpiece but a good, entertaining creepy movie that has some nice twisted moments and actually goes some unexpected ways. Fun stuff. Filmed as if viewed from spy surveillance cameras that the stalker is using.
I'm a year late but I can't resist dropping my fave here: The Collector (the 1965 movie, not the early 2000s horror franchise). It's an absolute masterpiece and a perfect adaptation of the book by John Fowles. There is more obsession than stalking in this movie since most of the plot centers around a captivity situation (the stalking came beforehand), but I still think it reigns supreme in this category.

Excellent list of films, Emma. I'm happy to report that I have seen 32 (of the 40) films and 4 of those films are in my video library. "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle" is probably my favorite of the stalker genre. Here are three more I could recommend:
IN THE LINE OF FIRE (1993, w/Clint Eastwood) - While the villain wants to kill the president, he plays this intense cat-and-mouse game with Secret Service agent Eastwood.
THE PAPERBOY (1994, w/Alexandra Paul) - A woman is stalked by the local paperboy, who is 12 years old. A creepy, tongue-in-cheek thriller.
THE NURSE (1997, w/Lisa Zane) - A guilty pleasure about a live-in nurse out for revenge against the family. Lisa Zane plays the nurse very well.

Sooooooo many of films I love!!!!! I am soooo glad you mentioned so many of these, like Single White Female and The Crush. Another interesting Silverstone film from that era is THE BABYSITTER (1995). Not really a stalker film, but it has a lot of obsession and psychology to it.

Oh my gosh Fear was my first horror movie!! I wasnt used to gore or jumps so it really affected me! But watching it now having seen so much more disturbing, I find it entertaining for nostalgia.

I've seen most of these, but The Gift is probably my favorite. Although I really loved Misery (the book is great too if you haven't read it). I also loved Wicker Park, I saw that one back when it first came out years ago. Another great list!
Wicker Park gets almost no love. Killer soundtrack, with a weirdly filmed stalker story, that makes it seem like it’s going to have a supernatural twist for part of it.

I would consider Disturbia as a stalker/obsession film. Very underrated film.
Thanks for the disturbing memories! Hand that Rocks the Cradle and Misery are a couple of my favorites. Don't know if this one counts, but I would include Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp). He changes his identity for the sole purpose of getting revenge on a judge (Allen Rickman). It's bloody and a musical :D

Love stalker films . I’ve seen all the most well known ones , my fave of those is the hitcher . Need to watch the Ashley benson film , swim fan and some of the more obscure ones .
Some great films in here, and some I will definitely check out! Only odd one out that I can't agree with is Ingrid Goes West. To say it has a strong theme kind of melts my mind, because by the end of that film the message I got from it was "suicide is okay as long as you share it on social media first so that you will be saved".. I couldn't have thought of a more toxic message to send to people.
Watching this has made me realise how much I am a fan of stalker movies! I have not seen the Gift, so I'm gonna watch it today :)

Great list. Worth checking out is Enduring Love. 2004 film starring Daniel Craig and Rhys Ifans. I think its right up your alley.
