Show Yourself - 现出真的你
Voices:
Elsa (singing) - 胡维纳 | Hú Wéinà
Iduna (singing) - 丁爽 | Dīng Shuǎng
I think this is my favourite song out of the Frozen franchise!
The Chinese lyrics are written pretty well compared to most literal translations from this movie - but one thing that's kind of lost in translation is Elsa sounds more gentle. For example, the "who are you" isn't asked in a demanding way at all.
By the way the dress that Elsa is wearing is a traditional Chinese dress called "qipao" 😊
Meirenyu thx 爱你oh(love You)
Can you make a Vietnamese version and have Elsa's wearing our traditional Ao Dai?
Hanfu is better, but Qipao is sexy.
no. the qipao is more like manchurian traditional cloth not chinese. the japanese yukata is actually the true hyper-traditional chinese outfit just as you know.
I was just gonna say that the outfit really suits her. ;)
shoutout to the person who edited the pic of elsa in a chinese outfit 😍♥️
What she's wearing here is called a Qipao. Although gorgeous, I prefer the older style Chinese dress called the Hanfu.
@@aznmochibunny ooh,thanks for telling me😂
@@aznmochibunny Qipao is Qing Dynasty Outfit that popular among Chinese today, it is got influence by Manchu Ethnic, Hanfu is clothes from Other Dynasty, and it is traditional outfit from Han People
@@zohoney9288 Stylistically, I just like the Hanfu better. The Qipao is pretty, but I just prefer the Hanfu. It's just a personal opinion.
That qipao is actually a dress worn by Liu Yifei, who plays Mulan in the live-action
Did you realize the name Show yourself has two meanings ? One is show yourself , means come out let me see you , another one is Look at your self , means let you see yourself .
Did you realize the name “你是谁(Who Are You)” has two meanings too? One is show yourself, means come out let me see you, another one is Look at your self, means let you see yourself.
THUNDER THOR Lmao. Basically the song titles have two meanings for asking someone to show themselves and showing yourself something
Yeah, and the Chinese lyrics are portraying it perfectly!
In spanish the same thing happens. Show Yourself = Muéstrate. "Muéstrate", means come out let me see you, and the other meaning is "Let you see yourself", "make yourself viewable" too :)
in Filipino is "nasan ka" ( where are you) means stop hiding yourself from me
I love the Chinese version of this song. The lyrics are so beautiful and powerful!
They are powerful indeed - both the singer & lyrics! :)
Yes is true💓👍
Can you understand it? And I mean without lyrics
I agree.
It’s literally just a translation just chill
Notice how Mandarin changes the line "who are you" to "look at [one]self" after the revelation? That's because, due to the way the language works, "show yourself" doesn't really translate well in a short, direct manner that fits within such limited notes of the song. The best way to translate "show yourself" into Mandarin is "给我看你是谁 (gěi wǒ kān nǐ shì shéi)," which means "Let me see who you are," so the translators just shortened it to "who are you?" Of course, after it's revealed who the person is, it wouldn't make any sense to keep asking "who are you," so the lyrics are changed to "look at [one]self."
And that's your Mandarin lesson of the day 😊
@Matty Bruno Lucas Zenere Salas 不客气 😅
show yourself也可以翻譯成出現吧,也是三個字,比你是誰更貼近原意
@@ziyuchen3112 也可以,但是【出现吧】和【给我看你是谁】的意思也有一点不一样。【出现吧】听上去是在提意见,而【给我看你是谁】听上去是指挥。
我觉得show yourself 可以改成 "现身吧" 可是好像怪怪的
@@ZhangtheGreat 谢谢
She didn't disappoint me at all. Her interpretation here is even better than in "Into the unknown" in my opinion :3
I’m neutral about Into the Unknown, but I love her so much in this song!

Ah, the return of the most elegant Elsa of all
Elegant is indeed a great way to describe her! ☺️
I am so glad to hear both Elsa and ‘Jasmine’ sing together in a song! 小宝宝 sounds really nostalgic!
Yes that's pretty cool isn't it!
The singer is great! I really enjoyed seeing how the lyrics were translated into Chinese - they did a good job and kept true to Elsa’s self-revelation!
The voice here is actually quite similar to Idina
김연수 Idina has a higher pitch. Her voice is like Elsa’s Mother, played by Evan Rachael I think
👍👍👍👍
한국인?여기서까지?
Disney purposely select singers similar to originals
She sounds deeper than Idina.
I didn't know the beautiful of Chinese.
And Her voice, I'm just like cryyyyyy
The lyrics are beautiful, and Hú Wéinà sounds gorgeous as Elsa!
yesss 100% agree, thank you 💕
These lyrics are nothing short of poetic 😍
And love Dīng Shuang! Both her Jasmine and Iduna are fabulous!
Me too I love Ding Shuang! Especially how she sounds so powerful as Jasmine but sweet here as Iduna 😌
I think this is the best fitting voice for Elsa
I really get chills every time I listen to this version.
One thing I want to correct in the English translation is that in the duet part near the end, the lyrics should be like
Iduna:终于明白你就是自己 所有期待(“所有期待” is actually connected with the former line here)
Elsa:终于明白
Therefore the translation of Iduna's line, in my opinion, should be something like "You finally understand you are all that you've been looking forward to finding".
And so the last line “我存在” should just be something close to "I'm found''.
Thank you so much for uploading this version, great job!
Wow. This is so good. Thanks for the translation. It's fascinating to learn the differences in wording and how some lines have a bit different meaning. Lovely singer as well. Beautiful voice.
The lyrics are gorgerous and this is my favourite Elsa song. Hu Wei-Na has such a beautiful, sweet, fitting, queenly and emotional voice. Also love Iduna's singer her voice is really sweet, warm, fitting and beautiful.
Yasss
Asia is really doing well on Frozen 2!! 💕
The duet was so beautiful
This is one awesome mandarin version of this song. Good job :) and OMG Elsa in Qi Bao looks so stunning
這次的中文翻譯真的比以往都好!聽得很舒服
Although Elsa is wearing a Qipao, it would have been more georgeus if it was either a white or turquoise Hanfu
Ooo! Imagine she was wearing that, and then when her dress transforms it becomes a hanfu!
You cannot canoe the dress bc it is very detailed
I am trying to find the right word to describe the lyrics but I failed. I think the word "incredible" is enough though they are much more than incredible
Wow really? That’s incredible to hear hehe, thank you! ☺️
Miraculous then
满满的回忆哦!大概初中八年级吧!
Hu Wei Na is so good. Forever a fan
" Who are you? Can we please meet each other"
Everyone: beautiful
Me; No we cant because its corona
Seriously i love this version.
I used to like Taiwanese Mandarin version more than Chinese Putonghua version, but I have to say this time, for this particular song, this version is full of emotions and not deadly translating the lyrics, the use of words and the overall lyrics exactly match Elsa's emotions. Good job!
You've read my mind, couldn't agree more! 👌
THIS US MY FAVORITE VERSION!!! YES YOU NAILED !!!!! AWESOME!!!!! AND THANKS!!!!! 💃💃💃🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🥰🎵💃💃💃💃🙏🙏

This is the best version out of Asia in terms of singing, emotions and flow tho the lyrics has it's flaws.

Oof.i have no idea what this is sayin

First guy is talking about how he things the translation is really great besides the song’s use of the kind of infantilizing phrase “小宝宝” which is kinda like “baby” or “darling” in English.
And the second comment agrees with that, and also points out that the Mainland Mandarin Frozen songs uses a lot of simple, common language kinda meant for children, while the Taiwanese and Cantonese versions use much more sophisticated, “Classical” Chinese.
@Noah Byrd oh thx for explaining
哇啊旗袍好看啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊(疯狂尖叫.jpg
歌也好好听qwq (但是show yourself 变成你是谁有点不习惯,多听几遍就好了吧w
Tsz Ying Lau 真的好喜欢这件旗袍。
I can speak Japanese, Korean but still learning Mandarin. The Mandarin version is the best out of these three languages. Hands down
Lovin' this! I'd have this second only to the main English version, with the Korean version coming in third.
That said, because I have a passable understanding of Mandarin, the line replacing "here I am, I've come so far" is a little off to me... XD
That’s amazing to hear - thanks so much!
The choir tho sounds so Good woahhh! 谢谢 for the lyrics!!
Love, love, love the lyrics ❤ here they are even better than in Into the unknown!
I agree that this song is translated better than Into the Unknown, and Hu Weina sounds so much better in this song too ❤️
(A bit Idina-like in the other song I thought)
very beautiful voice..
歌词巧妙之处就是在于对Show Yourself内涵的理解

I cannot wait for the blue ray of this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me too so excited for it to be released! 😃
I love the Chinese dress version Elsa! So rare and cute 😍
As a Chinese speaker who's watched the English version I love both versions but personally I think the English version is better not bc of the voice or concept but rather the lyrics. Since the song wasn't originally in chinese the Chinese sounds a bit to direct, it sounds slightly unnatural because (from my experience) normally when ppl break into singing in Chinese its less direct and uses a lot harder terminology. There's also something off but I can't put my finger on it. Don't get my wrong I love both version.
I think it was made in Chinese bc then the Chinese people will also be able to watch it but in a language they can understand
FINALLY A CHINESE VERSION
胡維娜的聲音一樣霸氣
艾莎的旗袍真的好好看…
”你” is actually the last word of the song in Chinese it means “you”
Bc that’s the only meaning ;-;
请回家吧小宝宝, cute and lovely lyrics xD
The lyrics are kinda easy to understand.
That line was really cringe, because Elsa is a full grown adult so I didn’t like the use of 宝宝 😅 Other than that the rest of the lyrics were done well
But thinking in a different way, although Elsa is an adult, in Iduna's heart she's always her child, her lovely child, so I like how they used 小宝宝 here, it also sounds cute in Vietnamese xD
The lyrics are good, but if these lyrics are used in Vietnam, they will come in for tons of criticism 'cause lots of Vietnamese people still think that Vietnamese lyrics should be the same as the original haha
Amazing 🥺💙
English and Korean version is great.. but I think Chinese version is very powerful and fresh!

Fun fact: the Chinese voice actor of Iduna, Ding Shuang, also dubbed as Jasmine in Aladdin 2019

That's why I'm a fan because it has lots of languages
these lyrics have a deep meaning to my life. i was adopted from china when i was 11 months old. i never had any infornation about my biological parents. this makes me think, i must look like my parents. and i wanna know how they live.and who they are
So touching! thank you for sharing 🥰

Totally agree with your description.
The English one felt slightly off
But the translation could be better at the last part
左のチャイナドレス着てるエルサ可愛い
如果把“小宝宝”换成“亲爱的”就好多了
同意!“小宝宝” 听不惯 😂
小宝宝确实太低幼了,爱沙石女王的料啊!
主要是为了押韵(参考All is found中文版歌词)。其实在一些中文的童谣里,也有妈妈称呼自己孩子为小宝宝的。
可能是为了和童谣All is Found一致
为了对白口型、押韵,还有翻译的要尽可能直白(Disney 的要求,连复杂笔画的字词都不能用)。
Elsa's dress is looking so pretty😘😍
1:48 😊 My fav part
I feel like you translated the line after
“Please come home my little darling” wrongly.
She’s replying to coming home, so the translation should be:
“I am coming.” or a more literal translation, “I am currently.”
Rather, you combined the two lines when they are supposed to be separate? Either way, extremely good job! This was amazing :)
I don't know if that was intended or not, I've always assumed these two lines are seperate, but this translation sounds incredible! Gave the last chorus a new charm in my eyes!
This exposes how old Hu Wei Na is. Their age or voice range with her "mom (forgot her name sry) " is small!
I want this for a Mulan tribute. It would be so cool!
As a learner of Mandarin and aspiring interpreter, I feel like the line ”不要让我一直等待”, could be more meaningfully translated to: “Don’t make me wait forever” to capture the song’s emotions. Direct translation would be like, “Don’t make/let me continuously/always wait”, but does capture the Chinese concepts behind this as well as “Don’t make me wait forever”?
Yep I can totally see what you’re saying - and you’re right I think that would have been a better translation! I’m learning too :)
3:09
Chinese: This....is.....this is awkward.........
Beautiful
Show yourself=who are you??
For those who say the English lyrics aren't right.
It's the translation, if it was the original, it would sound odd and not fit in. Some words don't have translations, or translate into several words. To throw it through translate, it wouldn't fit or rhyme in mandarin. They send similar messages so it's fine, even if some elements would fit as better you words. Also, they're are made up words, and Mandarin is a difficult language because you can't really make up words. Homophones are really common in mandarin, so which do you use of you want to make it sound the same. Mandarin is very different to English, so an exact translation is best impossible.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk
I kinda wish english version words were more similar to the ones used in the Chinese translation. Who are you and then look at you after she finds her moms spirit would've evoked a stronger reaction imo. I still love the song it's so beautiful

@@M.C428 台版年龄太小了,声线不太适合
coop cray 其實蔡泳淳唱的都好聽,但是真的正如你所說聲綫有點不搭,聲音有點幼嫩,讓人有一種猶豫的感覺,唱不出艾莎的堅決,而胡維納的能唱出那種感覺,而且跟艾莎的氣質很相似,蔡泳淳的有點像小時候的艾莎,所以兩者都很好,但我,比較喜歡胡維納的版本

I love this so much better than the original, and I think I'm biased because to me, most things are better than the original if it's produced well, sung well, and has a different vocal style than Idina Menzel, whose voice I really don't like.
This woman has a wonderful voice! I love it. Curious question, since Mandarin uses tones when speaking, can people understand it when it's sung? It doesn't seem possible to inflect and sing at the same time. Is there confusion about the words, or do people just figure it out with context?
May I answer you as a Chinese-Thai. I know a little bit of Chinese though. Both Chinese and Thai have tones in language which affects meaning of the word. When it’s used in music, normally the melody will harmonize with the tone. (Like a high key will require a high-tone word, which appear through this song) So we can understand it. But in the case that the word doesn’t fit with the melody, we will understand from the context. Hope this is useful!
There are actually no tones in Chinese Mandarin when sung; you understand meaning entirely from context.
I can hear their voice inflections even within the melody as they go up and down the general scale. I do get the lyrics mixed sometimes though since such songs that are translated are kinda limited to what fits best for the english version, if that makes sense? it kinda has to be limited into the amount of syllables that the english version has, which makes it kinda awkward.. I sometimes do listen to context too, even though the lyrics get mixed up, for example, the first time i listened to into the unknown in chinese, i thought she sang “life’s truth” instead of “the mysterious truth” since the two phrases sounded so similar and i guess voice inflections weren’t clear enough for my dumb brain to register (context made sense so i assumed it was “life’s truth” instead of “mysterious truth”). Anyway thank you for coming to my ted talk why did i even type all that out
Country Wisp
No! I enjoyed reading that. I’ve always felt, even as a non-native speaker of Chinese, that Chinese speakers do demonstrate somewhat micro-tonal inflections for most words when allowed. They may emphasize a 4th toned word, or slightly slide a second tone, or hang onto the top of a note for a first tone word, or hang a little lower for a third tone word. Even though the melody is dominant, I definitely hear the tonal nuances.
我正在is wrong ,is 我存在
So the translation is I exist
Hu weina me encanta su voz hermosa pero es aun mas hermosa la de tatako Matsu ( versión Japonés )
