    This has become my favorite Stroganoff recipe. I used to enjoy a cream of mushroom soup recipe with tarragon and wine, but there is just something about this one that elevates it. Super savory and comforting. I love using mashed potatoes because the sauce melds perfectly with them.

    • @peterplantec7911
      @peterplantec7911 Місяць тому

      What elevates it is that this recipe has great ingredients and is an actual Stroganoff recipe. Mushroom soup and tarragon...not really. You have moved up a notch. Seriously...the real deal is always better than the quick fix.

    Since the flavors are all in the pan, I would put the Pasta directly in the pan to make it taste even better.
    Obviously the Pasta must be removed from the pot 1 minute or 2 before the end of cooking, so that they remain Al Dente.
    PS: Of course, the amount of sauce in the pan should be in proportion to the amount of pasta. If it turns out to be too much sauce, set a little aside.

    I have been making beef stroganof for years and it's one of my signature dishes. This recipe blew away my own that I had learned from a professional chef. I did add two secret ingredients: 1 tablespoon of brandy when cooking the onions and mushrooms and 1/4 cup of finely chopped semi spicy pickles. The pickles will melt in the sauce and gives the dish a kick that no one can put their finger on. Trust me pickles make a difference. Also I accidentally added more Dijon mustard than was asked for and it made it even better. Thank you so much for this incredible recipe!

    I haven't made beef stroganoff in more than 10 years.. found your recipe, doubled your ingredients, used Filet (2+ pounds), and added a whole medium red onion... it was absolutely AMAZING!! So happy I found you and this wonderful recipe 🙂! Thank you!!!!

    Thank you for this recipe. I made it tonight. I had a pound of leftover trimmed pot roast which I sliced. I didn't have heavy cream so I added extra flour and used milk. Even with substitutions it was fantastic and the meat was so tender. I couldn't bring myself to serve my husband that pot roast for 3 meals so this was a fantastic way to make it different. He loved it.Thanks again! PS the dogs loved the leftover potatoes, celery and carrots with a little gravy.

    This is definitely a winner!
    The second time i made it I added 1 full tablespoon of Dijon mustard and about 1 tsp of better than bullion. I think its perfection especially with the extra wide egg noodles i found at publix.

    Great vid. One trick I use often, lifted from Chinese cooking, is to velvet meats with a bit of soy sauce and corn starch. It gives great browning and adds thickening to sauces later on. Stroganoff is one of my favs and the soy sauce helps that beefy flavor.

    Thanks for such a great recipe and demo. It's both simple and classic. I followed almost to the tee and it turned out delicious!! Your tip on cooking the meat is the best. I've made similar before, but my meat has often turned out chewy. Your tips on cooking the meat properly are spectacular! I love it! (I don't have enough exclamation points!) I actually used two filets that needed to be cooked, already in my fridge. If I hadn't had your tips about how to cook it right, It would have just been a waste and a chewy pieces of meat. It was worth it using the filet, just doing it right. Thanks for your great recipes and tips.
