Dude I'm proud of man. I have an older brother that has been going through a hard time. He just retired after 20 years in the army. He was 82airborne special forces US Army. He had already spent time on a panic ward after almost attempting suicide thank the lord he didn't go thru with it. Like you he finally found something to help keep his mind distracted, he picked up fly fishing he even learned how to make his own fly rod and how to tie flies. You can look him up his name is Sargent Juan Luis Galvez. Just wanted to share that with. And say thank you for your service even if you not from here USA, y'all all seved to better the world for all of us regular people so thank you
Thank you for the short message about mental health. I don"t know how a two-month-old video can have perfect timing but it did. And congrats on the haul! I also enjoyed your dog keeping an eye on you in the background. He's a good boy.
Enjoyed watching the Rocker box, you work hard, with a cause as well. Bravo, the special effects don’t go unnoticed. It’s a lot of work I know. Don’t need the glasses, pay dirt would be fun!
I absolutely loved your little insert about your mental health and that you use prospecting as a therapy . I also thank you for saying Your not alone ! there are many folk out there who can help . even if it just for a chat .. Keep up the good work matey . loving your style ..
Andy m most people who have gone through trauma or suffer through depression, anxiety disorders or psychotic episodes I've found to be far more honest, kind and generous to others going through the same thing. It's not easy opening up to someone so having a sympathetic ear on the other end is important.
A part dirt give away would be great! If postage wouldnt be too much, really like the different camera angles you used, lots of people shoot just hand held or tripod, the 'pan cam' is really cool and so are the others. Awesome take for the day. Plus one on mental health, anytime i get to go out and prospect, hike, etc. I always say i have to go get my soul back.
Chris. I too suffer from Depression. I try to fins things to keep my mind busy...Ham Radio being one... I am just getting into Panning because I love being by the water...it relaxes me... Thank you for being open about this problem......it helps to hear from someone like you. God Bless Brother.
What a welcome to 2018 mate that truely is a rich area. In regards to the "pay-dirt" my son (5) and I watch all your videos aswell as Andrew n Dave's all the time n after watching your MacGyver style sluice from a water bottle , my son n I made 1 so I'd let him run it through that. Anyway a really good vid n love the camera magic 👍
I think that we would love to have a bag of pay dirt from that spot and also can't wait to see a video of Andy from Adventure Gold and yourself prospecting I think that would be awesome. 👍👌
that is amazing.....the amount of gold in your region is awesome..........its taken me two years to even come kinda sorta close.......wow keep them coming man love seeing that gold!!
I really like the underwater video gives a unique perspective. And being a Veteran with PTSD myself i respect you on being straight about it. I have been watching some of your old videos. It is 2024 now
I would love to have me some time to get on the creeks and find me some yellow stuff but have to settle for watching your wonderful videos with beautiful locations
Love your vids my brother. Slim pickings in Alberta Canada, still enough to get me out there. Props to you reaching out to others that suffer. God speed on your journey.
yo, vo-gus, the lessons of a long life have taught me that we basically create our life as we go along, and we create it by the choices we make, therefore the quality of our lives is not outside of our own control. We can only operate in accordance with what we believe, so whatever opinions and beliefs we express direct our mind to make choices accordingly. If you think about it, it could not be otherwise. You do have the power to choose everything, including and especially your attitudes and beliefs. And these are what manifest as your reality.
We enjoy watching yours and Pioneer Pauley’s videos on here. We recently bought a GoPro and some paydirt. We are going to work on putting some videos on here ourselves. We joined a gold prospecting club here in South Dakota (USA) as well as the GPAA. The videos you post I am sure will help us identify where to begin to look to prospect. Keep up the good work and keep Th videos coming.
Would love some paydirt, Watching Grizzly makes me miss my Boxer. I'm a contractor overseas in Afghanistan, she's still alive so no worries there. Love the videos and happy hunting.
I really enjoy watching you posts - good humor and learning content so a win-win. Always amazed at how much you find compared to what I can find here in California, but I will continue to learn and one day get some decent sparkle going on! Keep up the great work!!
Hi Chris love your videos. I would love to get some pay dirt. I have just started to pan (Christmas pressie) so the practice and actually getting something would be wonderful.Cheers and may your pan have a golden line.
Hi Chris, another winning informative vid as always👍 P.S thanks for sharing yourself with us , keep on keeping it real😉 As for the paydirt... who wouldn't want free gold without having to break your back and fight off the leeches to get... In short... YES I want it. Cheers man😁
Mate your vids are getting better with each one, well done. These last 2 have been amazing, what a honey hole you have found! I love how you work out the $ per m3, I do the same thing, its good to keep records.A mate of mine took a little over 9 grams of alluvial in a day from a similar spot, I highly doubt he would have even got close to the cubic metre either. Boggles the mind to think that placer mining on a grand scale, $15/yard will make you a millionaire. The Minelab kit seems to be serving you well too, I love how the classifier sits deep in the bucket, so much easier to wet classify. Keep up the good work Chris.
hey vo-gus, thanks for your videos and your personal message. You have to know that reality is what we CHOOSE to make it. You have to know that we make up our reality as we go along. Reality is not 'out there', it is not objectively real and we are not separate from it. I'm probably not explaining this very well, but I'm trying to say that it's taken me a lifetime to understand that WE CREATE OUR OWN REALITY as we go along. If you can take that one message on board it might help.
I would love to be in for the bag of pay dirt mate... Spent 5 hours last week panning and got a hand full of specks... Nothing special but loved every minute...
Thank you for being a champion for awareness of mental health. I love your videos. 2018 will be my first season and I can't wait to drive down to Llano Texas and try and find some of that flour gold.
Jason Van Gilder good luck mate, remember that it's all about learning. Forget about finding gold and just learn about every aspect of it from anyone who will teach you. Then when you step into the field you'll just look at a spot and go, yep thats it.
Thank you for the advice. That is mostly what I am doing until I buy all of my equipment. I have been watching videos, reading, looking at maps, and researching going to a local prospecting club.
Hey Chris, I really love your videos. They are fun to watch, very informative and helped me to find some gold. However here in Southern Germany I pull out as much gold after a hard day's work as you do in one good pan :D So I would like to get some rich pay dirt from you. Keep on making your videos. I can't wait to see new episodes. ... and a happy 2018!
I like to slip into caves prospecting for gems or slipping into the woods to a few of my favorite streams to pan for that beautiful yellow , these are just a few activities out of many that I do to keep myself in tune with life . from the age of 2 untill my late teens my life was something you would expect from a horror story , I keep thinking that some day I would speak about that time of my life but to whom do I confide ? and now that I'm 57 years old , why bother ? I do still think about my past and how it has affected my life but I don't dislike myself because of the action of others , not anymore at least . Anyway back to the bag of pay dirt , I'd love to win that bag of pay dirt Chris . P.S. even if I don't win the pay dirt I'm still winning by being a subscriber to your channel . Best regards from Lloyd.
highenergyog at 57 that's a long time to carry a burden. Remember that it's never too late to unload, a trusted friend, family member or as I've found complete strangers are willing to lend an ear.
Another great vid Chris. Bucket cam was cool. Of course we want pay dirt. Thats what we all love. Hey i got a 12" goldrat river sluice off Dustin its off the hook. With that much flow you can pick out the biggest rocks by hand and go unclassified no problems. I want to see you pull over 2gs on your own there. Cheers
Vo-Gus Prospecting Awsome, make no mistake mate. you Gary tt and Andew A.G , are the reason i have learnt to find gold. AND I Appreciate it. I dont have running water allot of the time. But when i do, i use it like the old boyz did. And a dream mat in my opinion. .. is the boss of fast water unclassified sluicing. I love you Man, but use water like that when it's available. Peace
Another great video mate, great spot. What you're doing for mental health is great, its something that affects most of us in many different ways. Keep up the good work.
I'm enjoying your vids especially when you place the camera in different spots like on the shovel, rocker box & even the water jug. I've never panned before but I do have a panning kit waiting to be used so yeah, some of your paydirt will give me a chance to have a crack. 😃
I'm glad gold prospecting is helping you s good as you are and the knowledge you have about gold you should be feeling well, we'll good luck mate, happy hunting ✌
Happy New Year Chris and grizzly. It's a great idea to talk about mental health issues on your chanel mate, I myself also have ptsd from a work accident that very nearly killed me. I also find prospecting on the river very therapeutic. Good stuff mate all the best in the new year
Hey Chris could you please hold the contest on UA-cam by using a random comment chooser? Would be nice as a lot of us don’t have Facebook, deleted it or don’t use it anymore. Also great gold at that place! Thanks for making these videos! 👍
New subscriber here. "Geologyjohn" (professional geologist in N. California). Love your video's, and the techniques that your are using in your gold recovery operation. Best of the New Year to you, and I will continue to watch your video's. Thanks again for posting. John.
Hi Chris. Can't tell what your bedrock is where you are digging without being there to look at it in person. Its so stream worn and weathered. I can only guess (something like slate or limestone). If I were in your shoes, I'd get online and search for a geology map that covers your site. Type "Geology of _ (your region)" and see if a map has been posted. And of course, if anyone has written a book on the history of gold mining in your area, that too would likely have a good geology section that might answer your question. John
Rowan Dodsworth we have about 30 nests of them on out verandah. To pointy to kill that many so now they are pets. I couldn't find my mate harry the spider this morning either. Normally he's out in the bathroom.
Damn thats scary..just the sight of one wasp makes me freak out. Even one time i fainted on the stairs from one flying around me. Luckily i fell onto the steps so I got away with a few bruises. But 30 nests...hell no. Give Grizzly a good scratch behind the ears for me :)
Yeah ive heard about that, Luckily in england we dont have anything like that to worry about lol, apart from wasps of course :P I dont worry about anything else though . Good to see you starting to address mental health thought mate, not enough people do and its nice to know people aren't fighting their battles alone.
Re therapy......same thing with my wood work. The rhythmic swinging of the axe, the swish of the plane. Thing is as my wood work has got more professional its been less therapeutic. Prospecting has been great because it challenges the mind (finding the spots) but its also so straight forward. I don't have to think. I can just absorb myself in the work. If you are ever over Bendigo way......or would like to organise a prospecting trip once I've got the 16th century mining kit more developed.......
I know this is an old show, but I am catching up with all your shows. As I sated before I have been diagnosed with PTSD and panning and slucing is my theraphy with my PTSD along with watching your vidoes. Thanks much and keep it up it really is appreciated!!
@@VoGusProspecting Yes Sir, Seeing a therapist plus panning plus medication doing great now. Found 3 pickers at my claim total .5 grams total gold for the day 1.5 grams this Saturday Thxs for all your knowledge keep them videos coming. Jefesgold
Hey Chris! I've been watching your channel for about 6 months and really have enjoyed it. Your passion and positive attitude make tagging along with you alot of fun. I would love to win a bit of your pay dirt, as long as you are willing to send it to Canada :). Happy new year and best of luck. Thanks for the videos.
Hi Chris, thanks for posting a video on my birthday. Great video and gold again. Happy New Year to you and your family. Cheers, Jason (a medicated anxiety sufferer).✌️
I need to get back there so we can try the dream mat out together. We gave it a good run at reedy creek with some good success. Keen to get your view on it first hand.
Hey Chris, I fossick/prospect for the same reasons you do, 'the black dog' ...I'm ex Army. I'm based in Brisbane & I hit Drake (NSW) , Warwick, Kenilworth, Mt Perry, Eidsvold, Childers area, Mundubbera, and Gympie area ( all 2-3 hours from BNE) on regular basis. I snipe, sluice & detect. I Like your technical breakdowns of geology & gold occurrences & your knowledge inspires and educates.
Hay Chris, Nice start to the year mate. I would love some paydirt if you can spare some after watching that clip I figure you would like to keep it all. I recently lost my prospecting area as the owner sold it and haven't' wet a pan for a long time, some paydirt might help to ease the pain. Cheers Mick
id love to try some of that paydirt, i just started getting into it all with a few buddies. out here its all super fine but once summer comes id like to check a few places in our mountains as long as they dont have a claim on that area, as some spots still do decent even with the amount of people that keep going back to these areas. clear creek colorado if you want to see the stuff thats here. i just have a used spiral wheel and some classifiers and pans and my buddy has a sluice and a parts for a highbanker so i think it might work or at least will be a fun time out.
Hi Chris, massive UK fan. I'd love some Aussie paydirt. Run that comp. I'm a anxiety and depression sufferer and have recently discovered your UA-cam channel and gold prospecting. Hope to here from you mate. Dan.
Vo-Gus Prospecting. I have to travel a few hours to reach the nearest area. In North Wales, on a river called the mawddach. But temperature at this time is only 3-4 degrees so can't go out.
Hi Chris Happy New Year mate well done that spot looks great, that's a exelent idea to give away some paydirt. Because I am the world's worst prospector I have been buying a little bit from USA, I might have to go back to mining opals instead lol
how could you not want a chance to win pay dirt. that was good how you did the numbers at the end. yesterday I moved 5 easy buckets for. .56. I guess the old timers would be happy with that
think about this: we choose everything in our life. we choose where we live, what we do, with whom we will have a relationship, (yes, including our family) what we drive, how we feel, what our attitudes are, what interests us, etc, etc. there is nothing we don't choose - and therefore create.
lennyboy I hear you. However I am talking about physical illness in this video, being mental ill is just like having a broken arm, you can't unchoose it as it is a physical imbalance of chemicals and signals in the body. I do agree that there are many things in our life that our perspective changes. I can choose to look at the positive sides of depression, such as knowing its the depression making me feel down and choosing to go do something I like, but I can't choose to not be depressed. I cover this in my story video 'Break the science around mental illness'
Vo-gus, you're buying the wrong story, probably from a doctor who knows only to give you drugs. Try this for a reality check: Stand with your hands in the air, looking up, and imagine you just won the lottery. Now say to yourself, 'god I feel depressed'. You can't do it and feel depressed. Don't buy into this dis-empowering bullshit. Search 'David Goggins' and you'll soon find out the truth.
17:00 King Grizzly on the throne watching projects unfold

Keep the faith. From one vet to another? There is hope. Try Reboot, an excellent group program focused in faith.
Thank you for the short message about mental health. I don"t know how a two-month-old video can have perfect timing but it did. And congrats on the haul! I also enjoyed your dog keeping an eye on you in the background. He's a good boy.
Good on you for mentioning mental health.
I also think digging some gold is brilliant for mental health and good exercise as a bonus.
David Anderson Josh and I are looking into helping PTSD sufferers by taking them out Prospecting.
Fantastic gold! Well done great ground you have found. Pay dirt give away, hell yeah. Keep rocking that box in the mean time.
Enjoyed watching the Rocker box, you work hard, with a cause as well. Bravo, the special effects don’t go unnoticed. It’s a lot of work I know.

I absolutely loved your little insert about your mental health and that you use prospecting as a therapy . I also thank you for saying Your not alone ! there are many folk out there who can help . even if it just for a chat .. Keep up the good work matey . loving your style ..

Rowan Dodsworth nah their harmless, the scorpions are worse cos they are so small they hide in shoes etc
I’m defiantly keen for pay dirt 😋
I know this is an old show, but I am catching up with all your shows. As I sated before I have been diagnosed with PTSD and panning and slucing is my theraphy with my PTSD along with watching your vidoes.

I need to get back there so we can try the dream mat out together. We gave it a good run at reedy creek with some good success. Keen to get your view on it first hand.
Rick Shaw I'd like to see it in action, see what the hype is about.
Love your video's ave channel, a bag If paydirt would be great for my panning in The Netherlands!
Must be cold over there
Everyone loves the pay dirt lol. Keep grinding
That would be awesome to get a piece of the dirt you dig through. Sign me up brother
Love your vids thanks for my mental enhancement for today
as usual another awesome video mate , i love watching yur videos . you explain things really well . i wish i could come on a trip with you
Good man and good gold.
I very much enjoy your videos. Thank you for your personal comments. It means alot. Thank you.
Hay Chris,
Nice start to the year mate. I would love some paydirt if you can spare some after watching that clip I figure you would like to keep it all. I recently lost my prospecting area as the owner sold it and haven't' wet a pan for a long time, some paydirt might help to ease the pain.
Cheers
Mick
id love to try some of that paydirt, i just started getting into it all with a few buddies. out here its all super fine but once summer comes id like to check a few places in our mountains as long as they dont have a claim on that area, as some spots still do decent even with the amount of people that keep going back to these areas. clear creek colorado if you want to see the stuff thats here.
i just have a used spiral wheel and some classifiers and pans and my buddy has a sluice and a parts for a highbanker so i think it might work or at least will be a fun time out.
zerocool212121 golds secondary to fun in my books lol
Chris, would be a joy to come prospecting with ya mate!
thanks bud for your service, great videos.
i have never seen one of those boxes, is it like the cube ?

ossie1414 I was the same, then I won a sluice last week! So you never know.
I'd love some pay dirt ... :)
Hi Chris, massive UK fan. I'd love some Aussie paydirt. Run that comp. I'm a anxiety and depression sufferer and have recently discovered your UA-cam channel and gold prospecting. Hope to here from you mate. Dan.
Dan Gosling good to hear from you. Are you near any gold bearing spots?
Vo-Gus Prospecting. I have to travel a few hours to reach the nearest area. In North Wales, on a river called the mawddach. But temperature at this time is only 3-4 degrees so can't go out.
Hi Chris Happy New Year mate well done that spot looks great, that's a exelent idea to give away some paydirt. Because I am the world's worst prospector I have been buying a little bit from USA, I might have to go back to mining opals instead lol
how could you not want a chance to win pay dirt. that was good how you did the numbers at the end. yesterday I moved 5 easy buckets for. .56. I guess the old timers would be happy with that
Jarrod Nowell in this location it was 1oz per man per day to be considered payable. They probably would of laughed at me
I would have been the town clown then! nearly a year just to get a quarter. found ground around as rich as your spot so it's adding up now
Great video 🖒
think about this: we choose everything in our life. we choose where we live, what we do, with whom we will have a relationship, (yes, including our family) what we drive, how we feel, what our attitudes are, what interests us, etc, etc. there is nothing we don't choose - and therefore create.
lennyboy I hear you.
