"WHO IS THIS WEIRD LADY DANCING IN MY HOUSE? BUT ABBA IS GOOD LET'S GET DOWN" So sorry to hear about your mom. It was so hard to see my grandma go through it.
Agnetha Faltskog the blonde of ABBA, She has an voice of an angel. And she's one of my favorite female singers of the 1970's and early 80's along with Karen Carpenter.
Bjorn is the guitar player! The blond lady you're talking about is Agnetha. The dark haired lady is Frida, and the keyboard player is Benny. I'm surprised that as keen fans of the group, you haven't looked them up on wikipedia.
I'll never understand why ABBA gets so much hate, the vocals are A+ and the music is so creative and impactful. They're an incredible band and anyone who says otherwise is dumb or lying. They have such a good mix of powerhouse emotional songs and fun dance songs.
@@evilqueen6402 I completely disagree. You can tell from any 'casual' listening that they are a class above most standard boy/girl bands. I wish they'd played the extended version; the bass on that is amazing.
Compared to someone like Pink Floyd they aren't exactly deep in the subjects they cover or complex in their composition. But they were excellent at what they do.
It's hard to imagine the global phenomenon that was ABBA. They appealed to people in every nation. I remember watching the Eurovision song contest in 1974 and as soon as I heard Waterloo by them, I knew it would win. Completely different to the norm for that contest. From then on, it was etched into history.
Just to let momma know, ABBA composed all of their own music and songs. They also co-engineered, and co-produced all of their own material. Bjorn and Benny absolute genius just like the Bee Gees.
Abba!! Absolute legends. They had nine number ones in the UK between 1974 and 1980!! Try "The Name of the Game" "Knowing Me, Knowing You" "Super Trouper" "Dancing Queen" or the one that began it all "Waterloo". So many more to choose from. Much love from England 🏴
I think you have mostly reacted to songs where Agnetha sings lead. To get more of the many sides of the group, a song with Frida singing lead would be good. I suggest "Fernando" or "Knowing Me, Knowing You". Both ladies have amazing voices but as you have commented, it is when they sing together - that's the best. Fans call it the "third voice" because you're right, they do sound like one person. After you hear a Frida lead song, then move on to one of the songs which is all "third voice". That should be "Dancing Queen".
I’d add Rock Me for the Bjørn vocals and The Name of the Game, Andante Andante, I Have A Dream & from the new Voyage album, I Still Have Faith In You & No Doubt About It for Frida on lead vocal. You’ve already done my favourite Agnetha lead, Chiquitita, so I’d add When All Is Said and Done and Don’t Shut Me Down & Keep An Eye On Dan from the new Voyage album & Just A Notion where they all sing a bit of the lead vocals
Just like with Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, they're fixating on one singer. Frida has an amazing voice as well, or try 'Does Your Mother Know' with a male lead. By the way, still waiting for a Fleetwood Mac song featuring Christine McVie.
The band named after their first name initials. Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny, Anifrid. This song was also sampled years later by Madonna on her song "Hung Up." "Knowing me Knowing you" one of my favourites from them.
The blond one is Agnetha, she was married to Björn, the guitar player. The red head is Frida, and she was married to Benny, the keyboardplayer. He wrote al the music, Björn wrote all the lyrics
When you've finished with that, move on to "More ABBA Gold". There are not many groups that could bring out two completely different compilations of their 'greatest hits' in successive years and still have managed to leave a number of hits out completely! For information, ABBA Gold and More ABBA Gold between them have 39 hit songs and I can think of several that are missing!
If anyone says they don't like Abba? They're lying. Secretly, they love em. Everyone has a favourite Abba song. I love them all, and G G G is no exception. Abba never allowed their music to be sampled, that is until Madonna approached them with a demo, they listened, approved and so Hung Up was recorded by Madonna. She included the intro/hook you liked so much, and did it great justice. It's very well worth looking into 💜
I hated it that my parents used to pretty much only listen to them non-stop, so I grew to dislike the band, but every now and then I'm walking down a street and one of their tunes comes back to my head, as much as I don't like to admit it, they are a guilty pleasure of mine
This was the first ABBA song I ever heard when I was a little girl. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out what use they would have for a man after midnight. What could he do after midnight that he couldn't do before? And if he took her through the darkness to the break of day wouldn't she be sleepy? I love this song! It's one of my favorite Abba songs.
Does Your Mother Know followed by Hole In Your Soul at Wembley in 1979. Probably their best performance ever. Agnetha hitting that high note...absolutely incredible.
Hi guys it’s amazing to see how much they enjoyed doing this song and Amber your expressions say everything about how much you love music I’ve always said you can’t just listen to music you have to experience it

I didn't even realize that I was an ABBA fan until I saw the movie, so many hits! Plus you can't go wrong with Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Amanda Seyfried! 😁🥰
Bjørn is the guitar player, lyrics are mostly his doing. Bjørn is a land name. Benny the other piano man😊. Blonde one is Agneta and brown haired is Annefrid
ABBA's music was always complex and they made it sound so good. You should do a reaction to ABBA's "Dancing Queen", apart from being their biggest hit and being an all time disco classic, it contains complex musical arrangements and pushes the female singers over two octaves...now that's classical pop music.
What a very beautiful and powerfull voices , sounds music , harmonies and melodies . Extraordinary , excellent , brilliant , incredible , outstanding , very nice !!! ABBA music forever !!!
ABBA has rarely given permission to sample their music. They made an exception for Madonna, who sampled this song heavily on her song Hung Up. You have been neglecting the Queen of Pop, so maybe you could do Hung Up. It would be fun to compare productions. It’s a fun video too. Cheers guys! 💜 Also, when you return to ABBA again, you should check out their brand new songs from last year - I Still Have Faith in You and Don’t Shut Me Down.

Who would you say is the Queen of pop and no matter what you say they have never been called it, whereas Madonna has been constantly. She's been around for 40 years or so and been called it non-stop

They may groan when you put Dancing Queen on the jukebox...but they tapping their feet and singing along when that chorus hits. Winner Takes It All is my favorite ever....Name Of The Game, Knowing Me Knowing You, Money Money Money....so many great songs.
ABBA consists of 2 married couples. I can no longer say who was married to whom, but they were married until the early 80's. ABBA was invited to a German show in the 1970s. They had to cancel after receiving ransom notes threatening their children to be kidnapped. So they made a live broadcast, which was something very special back then. ABBA is as well known in Europe as Michael Jackson is. Just so you have a relationship. And even in Japan ABBA is a big name. I recommend ABBA's songs "The day before you came", "San Fernando" and "Thank you for the music". Warning: you may need a handkerchief.
If you want look for the full audio version - it has a overly funky instrumental middle part added. This was the hight of the Disco time (think some of the biggest BeeGees songs), and Abba suited it completely
This is a classic ABBA track. It was used on a sitcom of the same name over here in the UK, which is hilarious. Another great song by these guys is called 'Does Your Mother Know' in which one of the men 'Bjorn' takes the lead vocals

I still have faith in you,the first release single off their new album, one of their best i think, most of the tracks on the album are good some better than others.
Yet another great ABBA song. The multiple keyboards you heard was a synthesizer. A great instrument that could emulate many different keyboard and percussion instruments . This video showed ABBA in the studio , where they were perfectionists in recording and mixing music and vocals. Yet another reason they were so great. I love watching the ladies record together. They seem to be enjoying themselves immensely.
Ya'll should give a go at 'Does Your Mother Know'. The ladies are background and Bjorn, the guy playing the guitar here, he is singing. It's poppin' and definitely makes you want to move with it. And it's got a really good message. One of my favorites from Abba.
Holy Moley! You have done SIX ABBA songs and none of them was "Waterloo". It was the song that put them on the map. It's the song they sang and won the Eurovision song contest with!
Best album I own is ABBA Greatest Hits!!! I think most forget that they did all original music. Bjorn and Benny composed all of their stuff, as well as arranged it all. They are geniuses!
Frida recorded a solo album in the early eighties which produced a huge hit. It was called, “I Know There’s Something Going On” and Phil Collins was background vocals and drummer. I absolutely love that song.

I still have faith in you,the first release single off their new album, one of their best i think, most of the tracks on the album are good some better than others.
"Fernando" is a great ABBA song. I would also check out "Knowing Me, Knowing You."
ABBA is such a great band…
Ya'll should give a go at 'Does Your Mother Know'. The ladies are background and Bjorn, the guy playing the guitar here, he is singing. It's poppin' and definitely makes you want to move with it. And it's got a really good message. One of my favorites from Abba.
My favorite ABBA song.
The redhead, Anafrida, aka Frida, had a solo hit in ‘81-‘82 called There’s Something Going On you should give a listen to.
Frida recorded a solo album in the early eighties which produced a huge hit. It was called, “I Know There’s Something Going On” and Phil Collins was background vocals and drummer. I absolutely love that song.
I remember that song. Did not remember/know that was Friday. Now I know.
I recommend "Slipping Through My Fingers" which will make you cry..it's about how fast time flies and children grow up.
