Oh my goodness, are you in for a ride if you are just now discovering ABBA, one of the most successful musical groups of all time. Their catalogue is mind blowing. You mentioned it sounded like something that was a sample, A LOT of artists have sampled ABBA songs into their own music. They are as good a group as you could hope for, HIGHLY encourage you to continue your ABBA journey. This music changed the world. Some of the best songwriters ever.

the song is about a young teenage girl at the age of 17 who only finds happiness and joy when she's dancing or listening to music. the song isn't a love song or about finding love, it focuses on the coming of age and how beautiful music is and how it's impact can really make someone jive and have the time of their life. hence the song title "dancing queen". it is such a beautiful song.

They're Sweden's Super Group, others have tried singing their songs, but nobody sings like them. They were made up of two couples, unfortunately, both of whom broke up. The band name ABBA is made up of the first letters of their names. They broke up in the early 80s, and their music received a lot of disrespect until the 90's. One of their kids even had his name changed. In the 90s, they shot back to fame, and their music is still going strong to this day. People didn't realise their musical genius until they tried singing and playing their music 🎶. The guys did the composing. It was before computers were used in recording. They'd have one group of musicians after another come in to record. After they regained their popularity, people started begging them to get back together. Because they'd once been two couples, it was a bit awkward. Until a few years back, it was always Agnetha (the blonde lady) who especially didn't want to. It was a difficult divorce. She's afraid of large audiences, flying, and she hated touring as well. Last year, they reased their first new album in decades. To make it easier for Agnetha, they performed a virtual concert in London.

    Hi there!
This swedish group began his work in 1972 and remained active until 1982. They met again a few years ago and released a new album (VOYAGE) in 2021. Actually they present a previously unreleased digital show at the ABBA Arena in London with great success.
This particular song (Dancing Queen) is from 1976.
Is one of the 9 songs that reached number one in the UK.
They left many good pop songs and videos to react. ABBA never dissapoint...

ABBA: ABBA is named by taking the first letter of all 4 members first names-- Agnetha Faltskog (the blonde) Bjorn Ulvaeus (guitar player, married to blonde), Benny Andersson (Piano), Annifrid Lyngstad (brunette married to piano player Benny). They came to notoriety after winning the 1974 Eurovision Contest. They enjoyed a string of hits from 1974-1982 before eventually disbanding and going their own ways. In the 90s, interest in the group started up after movies like Muriel's Wedding and Priscilla Queen of the Desert used their music in their soundtracks. Then came the musical Mamma Mia, and then the movie Mamma Mia and Mamma Mia Here We Go again, brought an even bigger revival. By the 2000 demand for them to regroup was high, but they refused, saying that there was no reason to do so. They even turned down an offer, estimated at a billion dollars, for a number of shows. THen they surprised their fans in 2017, announcing new show using digital avatars and two new songs were in the works. BY 2021, they announced not only had they recorded the two new songs, but they had completed a new album, along with news of the show and the special stadium being built in London. The album was release and the show premiered, and it's been a hit. Their latest album has had 5 Grammy nominations, one last year for I Still Have Faith In You, and 4 this year for the album, and the song Don't Shut Me Down. Notable songs to check out: Take A Chance On Me, Gimme Gimme Gimme, The Winner Takes It All, Knowing Me Knowing You, Happy New Year, The Visitors, Don't Shut Me Down, Fernando.

This is one of the greatest iconic bands ever. Their genre is pop, and nobody did it better. The two women Agnetha ( blonde) and Anni- Frid ( redhead) had voices that harmonized together beautifully. Benny Anderson , a genius, wrote all of their voluminous music collection, and played the keyboards. Bjorn Ulvaeus the guitar player wrote the lyrics. To my recollection they never covered anyone else’s songs. They wrote all their songs from scratch. What a beautiful collection of music it is. You could do ABBA reactions for over a year or so and never have to do anything else. Anyways thanks for your post and reaction.

Thank you so much for reacting to this. Though this song and style of music isn’t my taste, it does bring back wonderful memories of this time period of my life. ABBA was absolutely huge at this time. They are #8 in all-time record sales, selling 247 million albums. I am the same age of some of the kids on the dance floor in the video from 1977 (12-13-ish). I remember it well. My girlfriend, friends, and I, at the time, loved attending concerts after I got to high school. It was one of the things we loved doing together. My wife loved concerts as well during that time. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I can not describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, people got along better, and the music was spectacular. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Our 4 adult children (29-33) are big fans of 70’s-80’s music like my wife and I are. It’s great, lol. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.

You mentioned the melody - Benny Andersson, the guy at the piano, wrote the melodies. It seemed like he had the power to grab them out of the air. Timeless and unforgettable music. Then they added Bjorn Ulvaeus's clever lyrics (the guy on the guitar). The two girls delivered beautiful vocals (the blonde is Agnetha Faltskog and the brunette is Frida Lyngstad). And all four of them had an unrelenting drive toward perfectionism in the studio. Altogether, this band was something VERY special.

I grew up in the 90s and I’ve always heard Dancing Queen everywhere and my parents never played one Abba song. I’m so surprised several UA-camrs haven’t heard such a classic before!! It’s just one of those songs that always comes on and you don’t know who they are lol.

I'm definitely diggin that scene! It's pure joy! I tear up and get goosebumps everytime I hear it! I'm like you bro I can hear every little detail from the music to the words. The part that you say about finding another It's in context to the fact that she is turning on all the guys and she's just free and innocent having the time of her life JUST INTO THE "MUSIC" It's interpretational and evolving but clearly it's the MUSIC here that steals the show!🎶🎵💖💢💯

Both Bjorn (Björn) and Benny have been part of writing lyrics to the musicals Chess, Kristina från Duvemåla and Mamma Mia. Chess was in collaboration with Tim Rice some of the most known songs are Anthem, One Night in Bangkok,I know him so well, Nobody’s side. The swedish singer Tommy Körberg was the first to sing Anthem, he isn’t a trained singer. Songs that he has sung fattig bonddräng (poor farm worker) from Emil i Lönneberga, O helga natt (o holy night), Beauty and the Beast with Celine Dion if you watch this it’s an surprise reaction from her, the background is he didn’t sing that well in the sound check, Guldet blev till sand (the gold turned to sand) from Kristina from Duvemåla. Another song from Kristina from Duvemåla are Du måste finnas (you have to be there) by Helen Sjöholm.
Both Bjorn(Björn) and Benny are in the Mamma Mia movies as cameos.
