I really wish the Ocean Dub/ the Westwood Dub also had a DVD end VHS releases, they would have made a great edition to my collection of DVDs alongside the Funimation Dragon Ball Z DVDs. But perhaps because of the negative reviews or probably because not many people bother watching this version, the ocean dub DVDs of the, Android Saga, Cell Saga, and the Majin Buu Saga.
Hm, post Namek Drummond, I've been disappointed by in a lot of scenes. Sounds like they were done in one take. This scene though? This is old school Drummond gold. He nailed it.
Being a DBZ fan in Canada, you knew the difference between FUNimation Dub & Ocean Dub (Ocean) being the dub that launched this franchise because the first 2 seasons was aired both in Canada & America

The Goku VA is terrible for Goku. When it comes to Drummond, he can truly pull off Vegeta at points purely designed and purposed for Sabat. I think the English accent and nobility pours from Sabat's Vegeta. And with it a really deep sense of anger and rage. But Drummond's gift is pulling out that anger and rage perfectly. It is what carries him through very well! Add his gift to choose the right laugh at the right time and the right words ( take "He is nothing but, a joke" vs "He is nothing but, a Commoner" ) and Brian works the scene to his advantage.
If the Ocean dub had remained, nobody would be complaining about which dub is better. And especially when Shuki Levi and Wasserman arranged the bg music. Man that stuff was perfection. But now that we can just watch the og Japanese VA, some of us don't really care, lol.
so...um, do these ocean dubs have any actual fighting?? or just exposition scenes?? a bit annoying I start getting into the scene and it just stops before the fight starts.
TheQuazz I'm talking about ocean dub dubbing over the fights and not just the talking. if you look up ocean dub for anything recent there's no fighting at all. in fact the scene stops just before the fighting starts.
the fighting is exactly the same as the funi dub, apart from the uncut shit with blood etc that was released on dvd by funi some time 2008, in fact this was an old account of mine that i forgot the login details for many years ago, i uploaded every single episode but youtube removed them, you can still find these vids on some polish website where i got them from, google is your friend
Never liked this vegeta voice. Just doesn't match the appearance. Reminds me of those funny fan made voice over videos. Maybe Im just so used to the iconic Goku and vegeta voice actors.

For some reason in the cnx/ocean airings they used the funi cast for episodes 54-122 but at 123 the canadian cast came back.
