Good old Brian. He was a quality Vegeta voice. He's the original English Vegeta. For me though personally he was more suited to the young Vegeta of the Saiyan saga while Sabat was more suited to adult Vegeta.
He could probably depen his voice for the adult version. I can kind of see what you mean but Sabat's readings, deeper voice aside, do not have the same emotion.

The only real issue for me is all the added sound effects that sound like they came from the Cartoon Network stock sounds drawer. Like the one at 1:35 for example. The pronunciation of some of the names, especially in the Cell saga were pretty hilarious too (Dr. Gero being called Dr. 'Jar-o' by Bulma is a good one).

I understand people dislike that Ocean Vegeta sounded like a demon throughout the whole series, even when he was married and raising Trunks. Same goes for Piccolo who kept that rough Wolverine snarl when mentoring Gohan. But I think it's a strength that Funi didn't have: evil characters can mend their ways and fight the good fight, even if they keep that “villainous” aura. It's your actions that define you, not people's first impressions of you.
True but it does kind of work against the storytelling a bit you should definitely feel that Vegeta post Freiza is a bit less stressed I mean it’s no longer chasing power for the sake of the fact that he might be backstabbed/killed one day
While I prefer Sabat's voice and the Funimation dub overall (mostly because they're what I grew up with), Brad Drummond does a great job. His delivery of the lines, and his intonation, is spot on.

There were several dubs with the same voice actors under different companies because of distribution rights issues but they were all managed by Funimation, but Funimation did not yet have their own actors. Og ocean dub got me hooked on DBZ over 20 years ago.The voice actors actually were good and in other anime.They didn't pay one guy to do 7 voices(all of which sucked).If I had to watch a dub it would be the ocean groups version. Sub 4 life

I love Brian Drummond but he sounds pretty flat here. I guess it makes sense, he was always more suited to play the evil, proud and confident Vegeta of the Saiyan Arc and some of the Namek arc. In that aspect I’d say he’s second only to Horikawa. As far as the insecure, self-loathing side of Vegeta, Sabat and especially Horikawa portray it way better.
I think he can manage the self loathing and insecure just fine. This is a speech so it sounds flat because it's the same emotion throughout. Sabat has always had very flat delivery of most of his characters, I have found. He can't seem to convey emotion as well.
Keep in mind, Westwood didn't give the actors the same time or resources they had under Funimation/Saban/Ocean. He could've had a better performance here, had the production not been so rushed.
Drummond is goated he takes the cake a lot for Vegeta’s voice and moments in Z over Sabat. But has Drummond had anything past the Buu saga? Because if he hasn’t then Sabat the better vegeta for how much hes changed his voice for vegeta.

This was produced alongside the Funi dub, iirc. The reason the scripts are almost identical is because Ocean was also helping with the scripting for Funi's dub as well at this time.
the ocean dub was done by saban using ocean studios in vancouver, and it used edits mandated by saban. the westwood dub was done by westwood media and also used the ocean studios cast in order to satisfy canadian content requirements, it used the same script and edits as the funimation dub just with the ocean cast.

This soundtrack is shit. Only like a few good moments. The older soundtrack they made for the Ocean Dub was better. @@thewarrior6784 Cell’s Ocean dub voice throughout most of the dub sucked. Dale Wilson did improve as Cell later on, but my god was the voice so inconsistent. It was hard to take Cell seriously with that voice lol. I mean, if you like it fine. Even still, even Cell’s actual Ocean dub voice was better then whoever they got to voice Cell in the flashback in this clip
@@thesladesterb3vt3co7h I disagree. Dale Wilson is great despite some issues here and there (they had only ONE YEAR to dub the Cell and Buu Saga, so it's understandable). His funimation voice for his 1st form has no emotions, his 2nd form sounds like a fish, and his perfect form sounds like plankton. PLANKTON! What the fuck?

This soundtrack is shit. Only like a few good moments. The older soundtrack they made for the Ocean Dub was better.
This makes me feel like I'm watching stuff like Super Human Samurai Cyber Squad or Beast Wars. And the soundtrack most of the time on those sucked ass. Not as much Beast Wars, but still.
