Tried this technique before and really enjoyed it, but hadn’t done it for a while and thought I’d give it a go with the syntakt… 2+ hours later, I’m just emerging from some sort of melodic dream space. Loved it. Thanks for inspiration, mate. 👍🏼
I really appreciate how you focus on just one or two pieces of gear to get the most out of them. It's easier to open yourself up to better improvisation if you're not stressed out about multiple boxes. This is very helpful for me. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! I just got an Octatrack and didn't know that about locking the notes to a scale. Can you share a link to the previous video you mentioned? I'd like to watch it but can't find it.
ST looks like such an inspirational machine. I've been tempted to get one, but already have Machinedrum and Analog Four, so there's a bit of redundancy. Syntakts effects and distortion are unmatched though and it'd be amazing to have so much functionality in a small form factor box.
Hello Oora, i don't have the money to buy octatrack and maybe a little difficult to use him, but i have the digitakt, for the sample and sequencing, i love it and i love my mother 32 so. I saw a lot of your video and i will like to buy a perfourmer when is available to France for sequencing him with ableton or my digitakt. I very inpiring by your music and i try to have the ( same) configuration that you, with some Strymon effect for my ambiant music. thanks you for learning lessons ;)
Since we got SY RAW and SY SWARM I reduced my live setup for Syntakt + Digitakt and I'm very satisfied with it. They fit well in my ECC-7 Carry Bag and it's perfect for live performances. Cheers!
Great video! I didn’t know that on the midi arp page you could lock all midi trigs to a scale - I thought it was only for the arp! What’s strange though is that the notes don’t appear to lock (will show a sharp on Cmaj scale on the notes page) but indeed per the manual, when controlling other gear - it will play locked to the scale!
I want a sampler to go with my synth (A4mk2), I’m pretty much decided on getting an SP404mk2, I’m comfortable with the elektron workflow but the OT is so much more expensive and the DT has too little space, could somebody talk me out of it?
The Syntakt is an extremely deep sound design tool. You wouldn't thinks so considering the simple machines it contains. Taming the ultra low bass is the challenge.
So I could never understand this... If a Digitakt is a drum machine, Digitone is more like a synth, what exactly is a Syntakt? A bit of both? Some people buy all three of these, is there any point in doing so?
Syntakt offers “quick” sound design by abstracting the sound generation to a limited set of parameters. Digitone does the same but only for FM synthesis. (Different timbres than Syntakt) The other one is a sampler. Analog on elektron is a marketing gimmick by and large. And imho just convolutes the GUI than add any real value.
@@OoraMusic don't worry, i will keep following your channel cause i think the content is top quality and you give very interesting insight on gears and performance techniques. What I meant is that 2k gear is all YOU need, for your specific purpose and performance. Many people can get away with much less money, and i just find an oxymoron saying expensive gear is all you need. Me myself own some gear, but i never shy away from telling people that is possible to do everything with a 200$ used laptop, and not to get fooled by the shiny promises of the last gear . Not everyone can afford expensive gear, and i think it's important we all take a step back in relying so much on (new) gear. Cause you know very well that despite electronic music gear being around for half a century, gas is a product of the social media we use. Just like the aesthetic frenzy, i don't think it's healthy, and i didn't mean any offense with my comment. Maybe just some irony
2k is a lot of money, but 2 points. 1) Elektron gear (and a lot of music gear) holds value. If you are buying used you likely won’t ever lose huge money when you sell. 2) there are lots of hobbies (like golf) where you are paying chunks of money overtime. I think in the end music as a hobby isn’t actually as ridiculously expensive as many ppl make it out to be… and as you point out there are great sounding instruments for less money.
Since this is all you need, please feel free to send your unnecessary gear my way. 😁😳
ahahahahah ddddaaaaaamn
You REALLY got him Trey! You really fucking got him! You rascal.

Great to hear Gavin!!

2 boxes with 2000 possibilities 😄
@@nastied absolutely. If you’re not careful, it can be overwhelming!
My pleasure!
True. Limitation breeds creativity! Too many options at once can cause option paralysis.
Unless your name is Benjamin Damage 😁
I keep coming back to 2-3 accounts for inspiration, yours being one of them. Great sounds and work overall as always :) thanks for sharing!
Wow, thank you!

Great combo, would love to see how you might integrate the T1 into this!
7:55 "Simple sound, I try to mimic my Vermona" ...hahehahe! Thanks for the great laugh Oora!
:)
Thank you Sir! Always a pleasure to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it

yeah mate you are covered I feel!
Octatrack + anything else. I'm loving the Octa + digitone combo myself these days
fair enough :)
Cheers for this, and all your videos, I'll be trying this out!
thanks!
thanks for the Romeo Poirier suggestion last time. Since then I ve been listening only that
amazing artist
Do you have a link to the video you mentioned about locking notes to a scale?

The vermona is amazing, you will love it for sure!!
Amazing, Great Tipps and Tricks !!! Maybe with the cue out also in use, could be á liiitle separation 🤔
Will try out that exakt setup tomorrow:))
let me know!

yes I am in the same spot!
lets gooo. sounds great bro!
Really good combination of gear. Octatrack is very tempting but I think elektron could update this machine really soon.
it s a debate that goes on for years... someone is saying the original designer of octa left so they will never update it. One can dream tho :)
Here’s your friendly reminder that shit will never happen
@@sooperheep lol yep almost year passed 😅
I agree. You don't need modular. I sold my octatrack and know I will miss it lol. But, I think elektron will make a mk3 within 2 years.

It is a little confusing for sure, but it works :)
Syntakt+digitakt for me ❤️❤️
very great combo too!

you are kinda right. Syntakt collect from other machines. Id say if you have already DT and DN you are fine.

What do You think about Audeze headphones ?
endgame for me! love them
for me A4 MK2 and Rytm MK2 are the best Elektrons. If Elektron now adds control options to the two CC, then that would be the pinnacle.
its a great combo for sure!
Berlin 🚨 hehehe
:D
OT and ST are really a great couple, soundwise - and they look so sexy together. 🫠🤩🤩
true!!
Just don’t try a chord progression
NEVER :D
2k gear is all you need
