you look good, the space looks good and you look good in the space! really hear what you're saying about seperation of work from family and I have no doubt this is the start of an amazing next chapter. 2023 ftw!
Congratulations. Don't forget to get your equipment insured for accidental damage (water etc), and theft. Especially if you are inviting many people to collaborate. Seems to me, there's been increasing reports of whole studios being cleared out. One recently was a techno artist, on tour, from South America. But, I seem to remember there was an electronic music collective's (in Berlin I think), that had their whole studio robbed too. Regular backups, of projects, stems, masters, taken off site, is a good idea too. Be careful you don't doxx yourself either. People can figure out where things are. I remember some recent interviews with Daniel Avery, and other artists, and thinking to myself, it's bad idea to disclose too much about your location. When you are being open about having expensively kitted out studios.
Oh man, your excitement leaps off the screen! So happy to see you so vibrant about this new challenge, and can't wait to see the fruits of this new space/mindset/workflow. You reminded me that I really need to finally start reading Nachmanovitch's "Free play" I think I'm gonna miss Oto video appearances tho! In culo alla balena Fede!
It is a beautiful thing you have done for you and your family and I wish you every success with this venture. Really interesting to hear what you say about community and working with others. For those of us still locked in our little spaces this is an inspiration and I look forward to what you do.
Tanti auguri per il nuovo studio! Sei un'artista coraggioso. Andrai lontano.
What you're saying about being in a comfort-zone is spot on - I have the same feeling and experience about pushing out of the zone tofind more, despite it being quite an uncomfortable place to be. Good luck with your new venture.
Good for you for being honest and going outside your comfort zone and following with your heart, this will be a wonderful journey I'm sure and can't wait to see what happens next. Great channel.
Congrats on this new space! I love your videos and have learnt a ton from them, even after tinkering away with music for over 20 years, there is no finish line with this, it's the most amazing thing to keep learning from others and pass the knowledge forward; different approaches, perspectives, from creation to gear and and beyond. I absolutely know that feeling of wanting to work in a separate space other than home, and I, too, have been looking for a building of this type (there were so many in Brooklyn when I lived there many years ago and had rented a music production room in one for a few years), but now I am in Madrid and sadly, there is absolutely nothing like this, crazy as it may sound. Nothing. Here, there are plenty of gorgeous proper "recording" studios, audio-post studios, rehearsal spaces for bands, creative "co-working" spaces, photography studios, yes, plenty of those when searching in Google, all beautiful with their vast, open space lobbies, the wood details and furnishings (and of course some Eames chairs a plant here and there), but a building like Riverside, or like those back in NY, as in, just a building with suite rentals for creatives such as video editors, music production, etc, there is sadly nothing. By all means if someone from Madrid reads this and knows something I don't, please reach out, lol! And yes, you totally nailed the #1 reason, it's ALL about community. The ability to take breaks, have a coffee or lunch with like-minded people from the building who do what you do, in whatever capacity, discuss ideas, share knowledge, geek out on gear-talk, even collaborate, is absolutely priceless, and I sorely miss that. I look forward to watching more of your videos, you're incredibly talented and inspiring.
Congratulations with this huge step! I didn't notice you moved to Berlin. What a great place for artists. Enjoy life there with your family and good luck with learning and making progress! Greetings from the Netherlands
It's great when you have a partner that understands and supports your passion. As Ciaba says below your excitement jumps off the screen and it can't help that the new camera looks great. I am sure you will make a success of this change. Inspiring stuff and thanks for sharing.
Congrats on the move to Berlin! A studio for myself is a dream I can only hope to achieve someday, but watching you manage it is inspiring to say the least.
I'm enjoying following your journey, and you deserve to be in this place my friend. Just listening to the excitement in your voice and the beautiful track playing in the background is a real treat after an hard day's work.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us, im stil in an early stage comparing to where you at and watching a video like this gives a good insight and helps viewing my own timeline in a better way Congratulations on your new space wish you good luck
Just meeting hawtin... That's worth that rental alone.. nevermind pan pot and the others.. that sounds amazeballs. You just have a bunch of us a creative wetdream.. can't wait to hear what kind of things you evolve into being in that space.. also you told everybody that place exists.. probably you singlehandedly made the rent go up 😂😂😂
After talking through reason number 1 I see why you went through the reasons in reverse order! So excited for you. Thanks for allowing us to join your journey, it’s inspiring!
I love this guy. You right man - to make a really good product and to boost your productivity you need to have regular monthly spends. It became a responsibility instead of just a funny hobby. And it will surely boost you up bro !
After all the time watching you, I just realized you’re based in Berlin! I just started out making music, sorta finding myself. I hope that one day I can deliver something you dig. Lessons sound amazing too! Congrats! I hope your journey will get you where you want to be.
you're inspiring me. I work in headphones only and I've been thinking about getting a small studio also, to be able to mix in speakers.. imagine, my dream is being able to mix in speakers!
I feel the same way as you about surrounding yourself with like minded artists and working/collaborating with others..... I am about to do the same moving from the Las Vegas Nevada area back to Europe.
Hi Federico, congrats on your new studio! I plan to adapt storage room for my music studio. Could you share the dimensions of your room? Is it enough for you after some time spent there?
Ciao!! Un piccolo passo per...Un grande passo per... mutuando da un noto contesto. Non vedo l'ora che tu faccia partire il tuo corso...saro' senz'altro in prima fila 🤗😻💯
This is a great video. Really great points in here especially about having a separate space for creativity. My studio is in my home and I feel that the time does blur together. Having a separate place would help with drawing that line between work and personal time. Thanks for sharing! Your videos are always inspiring and insightful!❤🙏🏾
Master Oora - So happy about your new measures, especially that you left the States for Germany! I am a US American who has lived in Germany for almost 40 years and I think you are doing the right thing. For a long time I divided my time between Stuttgart and Essen - now I live in Stuttgart, but enjoy Berlin (where I just spent over two weeks), because two of my kids and a grandchild are there... Carry on, dude! Good thoughts, good sounds, good reasons! Best of everything to you!
Thanks for sharing, and YES, whenever I register to my videos I realize I should be more proper with pronunciation and grammar, but I'm getting better :)
Good for you man. As a fellow NYC creative, I also feel like it's lacking in the arts/community compared to what I imagine Berlin feels like. I'm visiting LA soon and I feel like it may be one of those trips where I start to think what it would be like to live there with all it's creative community.
Thank you for the video it's very useful. Would you like to share with us - what's the new camera that you bought ? The quality is amazing ! Thanks and keep on ;-)
Having a place to just.. focus and do work, is awesome especially in a walkable distance from the home, or even if its in the home .. as long as there is a specific place for it that is convenient.. like when i was learning guitar, have a guitar near you and you will play it, have a guitar in a case a few steps away.. you wont play it lol
I prefer living in the countryside. Even outside of any village. Only four houses here. Big House with 240 square meters. Even when my wife is on Home-Office I can turn my Music as loud as I want, she hears nothing. When the Day is over I close my Studio Door, that's it. Community is a point. But not a big one. Maybe sometime nice to meet someone But most of the artist are there for Work or creative time, not for smalltalk. And I am more on the introvert side not on the fanboy side. Big one is the nature around me.
You are lucky to have a second and brand new studio. I am poor and I am struggling to follow a dream to make music and buils something that even resembles a studio. I got no job an several times deemed unemployable. So I always had passion for music and really want to make something out of it. I see all these people with their super expensive studios really make me feel depressed and that my life has literally no purpose. Why some people have to be so lucky and other people can only watch and suffer because the will never have the same things?
Wow, great move! So tell us: how to move so much equipment save over the ocean, convince the wife to change continent, this chair, the lights in the corner, the choice of monitors, how long do you commute, Berlin vs NYC in expenses cost for an artist like you, can I sleep on your couch for Superbooth?
ahahah sure! moving all the stuff was a MAJOR pain. a full container with all our furnitures and my instrumend costed around 6k. but i could now get rid of all my things, so i had to save and cry 😅
I’ve thought of doing this so many times, but I’m paranoid about my gear getting stolen. I’ve read a lot of horror stories about this happening in my city (Portland, OR).
Congratulations thanks for share it!!
So happy for you Federico, looks amazing and looking forward to seeing how it progresses.
Congrats ! Very happy for you 🎉
Congrats bro, beautiful studio - you deserve it! Hope you have a great 2023.
Thanks! You too!
you look good, the space looks good and you look good in the space! really hear what you're saying about seperation of work from family and I have no doubt this is the start of an amazing next chapter. 2023 ftw!

Mate, you deserve to be there. Your UA-cam reviews on the reverb/delay pedals is the industry #1.

P.S. You might consider adding the plural form of some English nouns to spice things up ;-) I am tri-lingual - I know the struggle! Love
