  • In this video we're going to take a detailed look at building a small form factor 4K gaming PC in the Cooler Master NR200P. This is a fairly detailed, step-by-step tutorial geared at a first time builder, so timestamps are below for your convenience.
    Build Components- a 650W SFX PSU and 16GB of 3200mhz DDR4 RAM would also be fine for this build. Idea list here, as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases: www.amazon.com/shop/machinesm...
    Case: Cooler Master NR200P: amzn.to/32POSwX
    Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I Aorus
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X: amzn.to/2Hb6Pyl
    CPU Cooler: Scythe Mugen 5: amzn.to/3kCepzQ
    GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 Founders Edition
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200mhz: amzn.to/2UgeBtD
    RGB Fans: Cooler Master Masterfan Halo 120, 3-pack: amzn.to/2UPXmQe
    Power Supply: Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold: amzn.to/339UTod
    Storage: Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVME: amzn.to/2USGd8z
    A few recommended options for non-RGB:
    RAM for SFF builds, Corsair Vengeance LPX: amzn.to/3pWKnui
    For a fairly economical build I would place the Sickleflow 120s at the bottom under the GPU (if you're using a 2-slot card), and then add any of the following at the top:
    Noctua S12A: amzn.to/373PAbg
    Noctua S12A Chromax: amzn.to/2KDMoLV
    Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2: amzn.to/3pZDIjh
    Scythe Kaze Flex 300-1200rpm: amzn.to/3pTeSl7
    If you're using a thicker card that can only fit slim fans underneath, my only recommendation would be to place the stock fans at the top (depending on your choice of tower cooler- with the demo setup you can have one 25mm fan), then add any of the following under the GPU:
    Noctua NF-A12x15: amzn.to/39dCvP5
    Also in Chromax: amzn.to/39idQcx
    For the highest end build place the NF-A12x25 Noctuas at the top and bottom (if they fit).
    Noctua NF-A12x25: amzn.to/39dKJai

    Some of you have inquired regarding the lack of a fan over the top of the Mugen 5. This is a physical limitation of the Aorus board's CPU socket placement and the Mugen's cooler width. A slim fan will fit, you can mount it with screws after removing the mesh panel, or use what are called clevis pins to replace the tool-less hardware. I don't expect that the fan directly overhead for the 30-series FE setup is imperative, although I think it would be marginally helpful. This may be a topic of a quick future video but in general you're already getting some passive airflow exiting overhead the cooler since with the tempered glass panel and a cooler in rear intake this setup runs slightly net positive pressure. The right top fan does most of the heavy lifting because 1) it's mostly unimpeded, 2) it's directly overhead the GPU exhaust and adjacent to the exhaust of the CPU cooler. The air coming out of that fan is a great hand warmer. I will test this more in depth. The real key here is that there are two at the bottom and one on the top right to create the bottom to top vertical airflow.

    • @Veyron_fan
      @Veyron_fan 3 роки тому +4

      Found the clevis pins as well when researching this topic earlier today. Someone has also made a 3d printer file on thingyverse for shorter versions of the standard CM pegs. I just so happen to have a 3d printer :)

    • @clanpsi
      @clanpsi 3 роки тому +4

      This is simply false. I have the same case, cooler and motherboard and a fan fits perfectly fine over the Mugen 5. You have to bend the top cooler fan clip a bit, but a 25mm thick fan fits. There's also enough space for a 90x14mm fan at the rear for some rear exhaust. You don't want to have the rear as intake because it's unfiltered. If the case needs more air it can pull it through the motherboard side.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  3 роки тому +2

      Good to know! I recall the fan clips were the source of the interference.

    • @clanpsi
      @clanpsi 3 роки тому

      @@MachinesMore Just take some pliers and bend the middle pull tab thing almost straight. Leave just enough bend to be able to hook the rest of the clip onto the cooler fins and you're good to go.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  3 роки тому +3

      I just tried this again and pre-bent the clip so it’s flush to the heatsink. Unfortunately with the fan I just tested with (Sickleflow stock) it would not close. Every other top case clip engaged except for the two around that fan. It bulges out a lot. I pushed down on it pretty hard to the point where I probably shouldn’t have pushed any more and it still would not seat. Even in the non locked position the top fan will not turn either. I suspect manufacturing variance may be at play here. Thank you for the data point that will encourage some to try. For some it might work and for some it won’t. What I am certain of is that on a Strix board it will fit a top fan over it. It isn’t the end of the world though. When testing the ID Cooling cooler today with and without fan, the delta was exactly one degree.

    Wow, first time I see a build video of this quality. My impression comes mostly from the thought and care you took to cable manage, most edutainement builders just do cpu, ram, m.2, mb in the case, psu, cooler, gpu and then plug the cables wishing you good luck to cable manage. We can feel it's not your first one with this gear and it really makes this video full of valuable info like the components fits.

    Just found this video, you must have built this the same time I built in a NR200. I used an Aorus Ultra z490i, 10600K (OC'd to 5.0ghz), nzxt kraken x53, team xtreem argb ram 3600mhz cas14, I replaced cooler master fans with 2 noctua's. 3080 is on the way, for now there's a 2070 placeholder. Really happy with how this build turned out, even with cpu overclocked, it never goes over 70 degrees. Can't wait for the 3080 to get here.

Things have changed a lot. Except I'm still using my 750 Ti video card that I got in 2014 since I can't find anything nicer at the moment!
    After watching your "Optimizing Air Cooling Thermals" video, I was a bit surprised that you didn't setup the cooler for exhaust.
    I used a Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Impact in the case and while some connectors are more convenient, it seemed like the cable management was more difficult with there being so many connectors right next to the PSU. Maybe the 24 pin cable on a Corsair is just harder to work with though.

    This video was awesome! I would love to see a companion piece for a more budget oriented build with the NR200. You did a ton of work detailing the low profile and bigger CPU coolers with that case, and most of it seems to have been with an RTX 2070, Ryzen 3700x, and X570 motherboard. I would love to see you wrap up all that testing with a build that combines all you learned!

    Thinking about doing this exact build (with my temporary gpu of course 😅). I really hate my current mid tower, I even got a bigger desk but still hate how much space tower takes up. This looks like the perfect size, smaller but not too small where it becomes compromising in function. I just need to look for a PSU that doesn't cost $300 lol.
    I really appreciate this video, I'll be able to follow it exactly when the time comes.

    That's really a great set of videos from you about the NR200 and possible builts. Thanks a lot for that! Though tbh it's almost too much information for me on the cooling solution. My setup will be pretty identical but with the vented panel. As a result, I'll go with the fuma 2 which seems more convincing. Actually, I fancy a Noctua NH U12A but that seems pretty unnecessary regarding the almost doubled price. For case fans, I'll get a set of AC P12 which seem to do a good job. For the GPU I'll stick with my RX 570 and go for a 6800xt or similar when prices return to normal next year. Wish me luck, the last time i built a pc was almost 8 years ago :D

    18:48 FYI this motherboard does include the adapter to convert from mini pwm to normal pwm for the second fan header. It's a little cable/adapter that comes in the motherboard box.

    New builder in ITX form factor, can't wait to start the build in this case but also a bit nervous. The GPU I will be using is the RX6800, and air cooling.

    I did a nr200 4k gaming machine
    Asrock b550 phantom itx
    Cooler master nr200
    Ryzen 9 5900x
    Scythe fuma rev. 2
    Aorus master 6800xt boosted to 2650mhz
    64gb of 3200mhz ddr4
    Cooler master sfx 850w
    Corsair 1tb ssd + 512gb ssd and 120gb boot drive.
    I run a msi 32in 1440p 165hz and get around 200fps in warzone in 1440p I also have a LG 27in 4k 60hz and I get around 120ish fps on it using scythe 2000rpm fans on the cooler and two top cooler master sycil flow fans. It’s nice and portable for work too

    Absolutely fantastic and detailed video with everything explained. This helped me with my build...thanks. Do you feel that the Mugen 5 rear intake setup would still make sense if I put the mesh panel on instead of the glass panel?

    Hi love your content! I’ve just started getting into PC gaming and specifically ITX builds on the last year or so and I have an Honest question for you, your setup always looks so clean and mint. You seem like a bit of a perfectionist which I can relate too. While working on your PC builds do you ever scratch or dent and pc parts like the motherboard or case?

    Great video, thank you! I've been agonizing over this case, however I've picked up an Aorus Xtreme 3080, and am not sure whether it will fit into this case. Any chance you could possibly do a build with one of these larger cards? Or would you recommend a mid tower size for this card? (This is my first build in about 7 years, sorry for the stupid questions!)

    Great video, I have the same case and keep wondering if bottom fans are beneficial at all in terms of gpu thermals, running a Asus Dual 3070 without any bottom fans now, but may as well add them. What's your experience?

    Great video, I appreciate your work! Perfect for my first build. I'm going for a 3080 TUF OC and a 5600x in my vented panel build. Still have not decided if I should go for AIO or aircooling for the CPU. I've read on forums that for such a low power CPU you could run exhaust on the AIO and still have great temps. But I wonder if AIO in exhaust would help out the GPU thermals? (more so then AIR intake) AIR seems to be sufficient and also easier, but feels wrong to have in with intake where there are no dust filter. What are your suggestions? (In my area the price difference for Kraken x53 and NH12A is ~10 dollars since X53 is on sale.)

    I have the X570SI version of this motherboard... I'm wondering if a Deepcool AK400 will fit with the fan facing the rear as an intake? Worried the chonky VRM heatsink/rear IO shroud will get in the way. Saw someone had issues fitting it with a ROG Strix B550 mobo :/
