All throughout the series we've encountered numerous instances of foreshadowing for the old frog's death, putting Anne, Sprig and Polly's lives before his own nearly every single time. I personally think that ever since Sprig and Polly's parents were devoured by herons. Hop Pop has had immense survivor's gulit and has secretly wanted to die but he knows he can't because his grandkids need him. He failed to Save his Family once, he's not gonna do so again.
I hope that Hop Pop is not dead.

Hop Pop dying will be way more depressing than Marcy's supposed death. Sure I love Marcy, but Hop Pop has been a loving parental figure to Anne.

With Sasha almost dying in the season 1 finale “Reunion” and Marcy freaking dying in the season 2 finale “True Colors” though we know she’ll be restored, my guess is Anne will come close to dying and right at the last minute, Hop Pop will sacrifice himself for Anne.
That would be perfect and serve as his personal atonement for not being there to save Sprig and Polly's parents.

I also notice the tease of Sasha almost falling to her death, and sprig almost doing the same, so I can expect Hoppop to do the same in the season 3 finally, but unfortunately, actually end up dying

First off, thank you so much for the shout out. I’m so ecstatic about my compilation being mentioned, especially by you guys. I just love watching your videos.
As for the actual theory, I do think a sacrifice is how Hop Pop will go out to end his character arc. Although I do acknowledge that there’s a high chance that Hop Pop’s death would not be permanent. Grunkle Stan’s sacrifice didn’t have any long term effects, and Marcy’s death wasn’t permanent either. But the possibility of a permanent death is there.
Although, I actually think of all of the characters that are more likely to have a permanent death, it would be Andrias and/or Grime. Andrias is obvious due to being the main antagonist, and Grime has repeatedly says that he isn’t afraid of death.
Needless to say, if Hop Pop dies, I will be absolutely heartbroken.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how the writers of amphibia?

The revival spell cannot be used on a SENTIENT BEING it states in the episode Maddie & Marcy, that it can only be used on non-speaking creatures, so it could NOT bring Hoppop back to life, check the book in the episode if ya don't believe me.

It would be interesting if Hop Pop sacrificed himself if the Night lost control of Marcy due to Olivia and Yunan freeing her, it’ll be like a situation where the Night is in need of a vessel and Hop Pop offers himself up as the newest vessel. The Night would try to break of free of Hop Pop but like Balder from Bayo 2 he’d seal the Night within himself and then he’d die officially.

God, if hop pop dies idk what I’ll do. He’s always been an absolute favorite character of mine, along with the rest of the plantars! In true colors, I sobbed my eyes out when sprig was dropped out of the window, but when Marcy got stabbed I was just shocked out of my mind. I’ve always loved the Plantars more than probably any other characters so his death would ruin me 😭

@@livvworm yeah, he betrayed her for keeping the music box in dirt and marcy betrayed Anne and Sasha by not letting them go home so I say they are pretty much tied for most people but I understand hop pop and he just wanted to protect his family but with Marcy, I feel she could’ve just tried to talk to them on call all the time and figure stuff out, not trap them all in a frog world, but that’s my opinion personally.

I feel like be could become a ghost. (this is if it happens before the season/possible series finally) He did imply that ghosts are a thing in Amphiba, because he did say "Well, that's rediculus. Basement ghosts don't sound anything like that," meaning that he COULD become a ghost.

I don't know, man, I feel like if Hop Pop died, it'd be for reals. Considering how ballsy they were with Marcy getting stabbed right onscreen, and Andrias confirming she'd have died if not for the rejuvenation tank, I don't for one second believe they wouldn't have the guts to make it a permanent death.
Oh goodness I never noticed all that before. You have amazing attention to detail. What I think will happen is since Sasha nearly died at the end of season 1 and Marcy nearly died at the end of season 2, by the end of season 3 Anne will end up almost dying but will be saved at the last minute by Hop Pop sacrificing himself.
If Hop Pop dies in a heroic sacrifice against the main villain in front of Anne and his grandchildren, two things can happen.
1. The fandom will be crippled with sadness and depression
2. If Goku felt the pain and rage when Krillin was killed by Freiza, Anne's reaction shouldn't be any different

i've been thinking about all through theories since i finished bingeing the show ( i mean the eye, arm, and dead hop pop theories) and I'm just about convinced they'll be canon. at least the hop pop one, as I kept noticing the foreshadowing constantly. mans has been pictured dead too many times to be a coincidence
Two ideas. First, there's some giant, scary mutant monster hidden inside their house, right? I'll betcha _that_ is Charlie.
Second, _if_ that is true, and HP gets reanimated, I can kinda see him shacking up in that little dungeon, for one reason or another. I don't think it'll just be a place for Sasha and Grime to arm up before the final conflict- its too heavy in family lore.
This is a theory I had back during the first half of season two. I wasn't really looking for active foreshadowing, but was looking at it from a more story oriented sense. And now with Anne's powers emerging I think I have a pretty good idea of what's gonna go down. I think Anne's gonna overuse her powers in a battle with either the Night or Andreias, and accidentally kill hop pop. Maybe Anne is about to use too much of her powers, or almost kills sprig and polly, so hop pop jumps in the way. There are a bunch ways it could play out, but I in general think Anne will be somehow responsible for his death. Once the Night is defeated and the world is saved, this will leave Anne with a hard choice to make, go home to her real family, or stay with her frog family being the only member polly and sprig have left (assuming that the mom doesn't come back which is a possibility) I personally think Anne's recklessness resulting in Hop Pop's death would make for a really good moral dilemma for her. I think it's important to note that in a lot of these scenes Anne is directly related to Hop Pop's death. Hop Pop charges Anne's phone because he knows how much it means to her, he sacrifices himself to let his family escape the angry mob, and in contagi-anne, Anne is directly responsible for putting the mushroom in the soup.

There was actually a theory really similar to this about Gravity Falls, but in regards to Grunkle Stan. The theory was that Stanley would die in the final season. He didn't TECHNICALLY die, but he did lose all of his memories (meaning that the Stanley we'd grown to love was, in a way, dead). But that was arguably a redemption move (since Stanley blamed himself for Ford's Cipher Wheel not working), and Hop Pop hasn't really done anything that would make such a move necessary (yes, there was his burying the music box, but that was resolved). What if Hop Pop's death is something like that?
Marcy's death could possibly been hop pops death after all andrisas does have some hatred towards the pink frog ( aka) a planter from a thousand years ago so it would make sense to kill hop pop
Wow, this video came at a good time. I was trying to draw fan art for a show I “watched” saying that bc this show got rejected by Disney but there’s still a fandom for it! I just couldn’t draw it bc I was in too deep and too obsessed to draw what I was trying to draw! At least this can take my mind if things!

I have a feeling that when anne and her friends are face to face with Andrias I think that once Andrias has the advantage of killing anne, hop pop will take the hit. I bet that everyone who watches that their hearts will shater l like glass. Yes it will be a very sad sight but hopefully Maddy will be able to make a resurrection spell that revives hope pop. Hop pop is literally my favorite character. I mean the guy has a really sad life. Taking care of his grandkids after their parents died. Almost losing anne's trust. Give the guy a dang break! But just like what Rountable said, "These are just my thoughts." Stay safe tall.
Here’s a cool fact:in true colors when Marcy discovers the music box in a book,I’ve paused the show to see what the cover said “Dr.P’s extraordinary guide to magic & mystery” the cover of the book almost sounds like “Dipper Pines guide to the unexplained” and what makes it more special is that Dr P’s name could be dippers last name

Whenever I hear or read something about Hop Pop dying, it keeps reminding me of his line "Fly, you fools!".
Another similarity is the teasing of death by falling in the finale of both season 1&2 (Sasha and Sprig) paired with all the falling and jumping for others you mentioned, It wouldn’t be a surprise if season 3 had a similar ( this time permanent ) scene
Look, I'm down with kids being crippled, eager even, but if they actually kill the most hilariously lovable crotchety old man character I've ever known then I will NOT be okay. So yeah, I'm desperately hoping that this is foreshadowing a fake-out. "Mah greatest performance! Ah knew I could act if my life depended on it! And it did!" Like that. PLEASE.

After all he already had heart broken
When he lied to Anne about the calamity box
Old age when he feels like he can't keep up with the rest of his family
And he's future death might be a heroic sacrifice
He couldn't save his kid.

Only to be stopped by the sounds of Sprig and Polly crying or knocking on the door of his room. In the latter instances he holds them tight tears streaming down his eyes.

Reminds me of all the foreshadowing of Grunkle Stan's death. Not sure if they're really gonna kill Hop Pop since I legitimately can't remember when a main character in an animated Disney show died. Maybe this will change that
The difference is all the foreshadowing of Grunkle Stan's death was associated with heat/fire. And in a way he did die to stop Bill Cipher once and for all.

Given all of these flags in this video, and the mind-controlled herons on the new poster, my prediction is that HP will sacrifice himself to save Anne from said herons.

Two other things: it's almost Anne's turn to nearly die but be saved by a personally prominent member of the species she ended up with (Grime broke Sasha's fall, Olivia and Yunan put Marcy in the tank), and Andrias is already targeting Anne and likely to use her connection to the Plantars against them once he realises why Sprig looks so much like Leif. If anything results in Hop Pop's death, it'll be him stopping Andrias from killing Anne.

i got a theory when you look at the shield on anne's shirt there is 4 start of names they probably were gonna make there be 4 girls but they could not think of anything for the 4th girl or just decided to remove the 4th girl

I was rewatching the first episode where Marcy was introduced!
(Spoilers)
In the Episode, the Plantar's finally meet up with Marcy and they have to scare off a bunch of Barbariants using stink shrooms
While they're duking it out with the queen for eating Sprig, the queen vomits Sprig & Marcy back out
And if you Slow down the playback speed, while they're flying through the air
Marcy's eyes flash green just like Anne's would blue
It could probably just be her eyes reflecting the green vomit of the queen's, but I think it's worth checking out

My theory is that sprig and pollys mom is still alive
She stole the box
Then when the cranes attacked the city she used it to escape and put the box in a store
Oh boy I think hop pop could die in the finale battle against andrisas
i feel like perhaps hoppop will save them from some foe, leaving sprig nd polly crushed, with sprig screaming a vow to avenge him, as he is dragged off by another character
then, later, have them face it again, and sprig grabs barrel's warhammer (seeing as he is anomalously able to use it, kind of), and challenges it, everyone else thinking he is about to die horribly, and screaming for him not to do it, but he won't listen
and, of course, he is anuble to lift or swing it very well, but he is able to dodge the enemies attacks, due to his natural agility, and the thrusters on the hammer activating randomly (much like his fight with grime, where the thrusters kinda messed him up, but then he fumbled his way to victory)
and he is lifted off the ground, flying around out of control by the thrusters, and he would be shown fiddling with it, and squinting as the thrusters activate, and then deactivate, before activating again, and he realizes he is able to control them
the foe would see his spazing out in the air unable to control the hammer, and laugh and-or mock him, before he would twist in the air, lining up, and say something referencing his "But i have the MORAL HIGH GROUND!" line, and activate the thrusters, plunging the hammer head into the foe, defeating it
idk, i just feel like something like that might fit pretty good

Citing the lord of the rings reference I see Hop Hop as more like Samwise, he may attempt to destroy the box, but it will likely end with Andrais death as he tries to save it. It could be that the gems will survive and that will allow Anne and company a way for a final one way trip home.
I could see Hop Hops death being the final trigger for a mega powered up Anne in the final battle. Of course it could be that the reason Anne feels wrong using the Heart power for combat may be that it is meant to be used as a healing ability when positive emotions are used to fuel it and she will bring him back from the brink.
Of course this could all be the creators giving us a red herring for us to chase as speculated.

I just watched your sprigs mom honing to earth theory, but I think that she made a duplicate of the book, which is the one that marcy found. Which is why It's titled Dr. P's (aka: Dr. Plantar)

We've seen Marcy dying and while no one believed it to be permanent, it still hit deep in the feels.

“ Fly you fools “ - This could mean something in season 3 where they might escape via a helicopter, with hop hop distracting Andrias or Mr. X while they escape.
If anything I can see Marcy being the one to cause Hop Pop death.
Cuz him and Marcy bonded so fast he was worried about her straight away after seeing her get stab and they had great chemisty together. Marcy had someone to lean on and Hop Pop had someone willing to learn his ways with an open mind. I can see it Anna trying to free prossessed Marcy and is knocked down as the final blow is struck Hop Pop jumps in the way shocking everyone and Marcy crying.
I think the last statue (in hop pop's dream) is his ashes in an urn
