This episode turned dark real fast and I loved it! The creepy imagery of Olivia's fears twisting into a monster, Sasha and Anne fusing together(totally reminded me a little of Gravity Falls when that creature that tried to trick Dipper by pretending to be the author fused Dipper and Mabel), the core spesifically grabbing Marcy's head, her fear, her screams. God *chef kiss*
My personal favourite for turning the heartbreak meter up to 20/10 is the look on Marcy's face when she's getting Cored; there's no hope left on it and she's. Just. Terrified.
At first, I was wondering where Olivia and Yunan were during the rest of True Colors. Now I have to ponder again, but harder, to see what Darcy will do to them
The eye being on Andries’ crown makes me think that since when Anne fought him and got his crown knocked off his head she might try do it again to break the connection with him and his lord
I hope Marcy is still in there when she’s possessed by The Core Beast hopefully her green calamity powers will help to break her free from The Core Beast’s control or Anne & Sasha will have heart to heart with her to get through to her for her to fight over control of her body to break free from getting her mind destroyed for The Core Beast to kill her
Yeah I want that to buttttttttt the way we are going here not might happen but I still hopeeee it! Also I think Marcy was gonnaaaa ask Anne to that prom
That's not the night, that's the core. I think the night is a different creature. Or maybe, since Andrias is revealed to have that eye in his crown, he might transform into the night at the end.
I also thought that the night/core was some sort of ancient monster, maybe even older than Andrias. But after Olivia and Yunnan, it reminded me of that robotic head from Goblins versus Dwarves (by Philip Reeve). The mechanical head is a robot created long ago, when dwarves were laughed at by humans for being small. The book then explains that because dwarves are boomers that can't accept anything new, they blindly follow orders given by the mechanical head which told them where and what to mine AND to finish the head. This results in it being finished centuries later, when the dwarves gain an important part protected by goblins and can finish the mechanical head's plan: to show humans their place and retrieve the dwarves' forgotten glory. In the end, the head (now with a giant body) starts destroying everything in its path and is on its way to the nearest city. At this point, even the dwarves realise that the mechanical head was made centuries ago when dwarves wanted revenge and destroy humans. I see a parallel between the core and the head.
I love the voice acting, the voice for marcy did an amazing job. Definitely on pare with The diamonds and the crystal gems getting corrupted by White And especially when Eda transformed into the owl beast 💙💚💖
Anybody else notice in marcy’s theme song she says: “Hope nothing bad ever happens to me!” *ya jinxed ya self MARCY* Edit: also in the book there is an image of Bill cipher on the left page on one of the frames
I like to think of the Core by analyzing one tiny detail. Andrias, the megalomaniacal conqueror who refers to his ancestors (presumably the same ones that make up the Core) as "glorious" and he said the Core was made from "the greatest minds Amphibia has ever known" combine these two thoughts and it becomes clear that Andrias' idea of "great mind" means "evil and tyrannical geniuses" In other words, what modern sensibilities would consider the opposite of great. In an allegorical sense, it wouldn't be inaccurate at all to describe the Core as a amalgamation of evil in Amphibia. I'm not articulating this well, but it struck me the moment Andrias said that. Imagine the combined intellect and cruelty of figures like Alexander the Great, Vlad the Impaler, Genghis Kahn, Stalin, Kim Il-sung and god knows who else all combined into one being with none of what made them human. (I also suspect that Andrias intends to join the gestalt once he reaches the end of his life or has already uploaded his consciousness to it. )
I cant believe no body noticed that when Darcy was introduced, they/she/it had 1 more pair of eyes than the core, meaning that every person to be added to the hive mind is indicated by an additional pair of eyes. Either that or the core gets a new pair of eyes with each form
Doing this to every video I see, the initial scream that Marcy makes is terrifying. If you listen closely, there are two different types of screams. One is bone-chilling and the other is just, "eh, just a scream." Right when the helmet is put on and the screen flashes, there's this two-second scream is so bad and so terrifying to me. The entire scream doesn't do it, it's just that two-second one. It would be 9:45 to 9:47, or well the entirety since is seems Roundtable focuses on that initial scream anyways. But by the stars, the actor did a GREAT job expressing all that fear and terror and pain into that 2 second scream.
Damn seeing the Yunan and Olivia episode really hit me on a whole different level, because on one hand we return to Amphibia and see more of Yunan, Olivia and Marcy along with what's happening, but on the other hand the ending when Marcy becomes the new host for "The Core" is now hitting us hard and blowing "True Colors" ending out of the water. Not sure if this is the last Amphibia episode this month before it goes on Hiatus, but since we have two episodes left (including a Christmas Episode), it looks like we won't be seeing more of what's happening back in Amphibia with Sasha, Grime, Yunan, Olivia, and Marcy (now host of "The Core") until early 2022.
I love the dark credits, I feel that Marcy is 100% stuck and needs the growth of knowing her friends won't abandon her. We saw her reaction with the nightmare but what hit me the most, has to be Andrias, his reaction shows that he came to like Marcy
Why isn't anyone talking about the eye on Marcy's chest I mean.. there has to be a consequence after her impalement in true colors Fake Edit: Dang.. Marcy can't catch a break now can she Real edit: Has anyone else realized that Olivia and Yunann both sport two of the calamity colors blue and pink, and they try to rescue Marcy.. the green calamity color Just saying
I definitely know how Marcy felt with that helmet lowered on her head. There once was a very scary attraction at Disney, it was Stitch’s Great Escape. They had those very uncomfortable shoulder restraints that hurt sooo bad. I felt sooo uncomfortable with the restraints lowering on us…I had that same uncomfortableness Marcy had. The moment the helmet lowered, I got Stitch’s Great Escape flashbacks when the restraints lowered, I got so scared.
Being honest I think that the prom poster does not have a loving meaning, as we can see in the poster it says "yes or yes" as if there was no option to reject, this can refer to how Marcy did not have an option when her parents decided moving out of state, it can also mean how marcy didn't give sasha and anne a choice about going to amphibia
I think the poster that says "Prom? Yes or yes?" Could be interpreted as Marcy not liking parties or even being afraid of them, since she said she has trouble sociolizing.
Okay theory: Anne will temporarily take on Marcy's green powers to get inside her mind. She will help her friend regain herself and the green powers will get transferred to Marcy via the mental connection. I know its not fleshed out but eh whatcha gonna do?
This episode just unsettled the hell out of me, while I appreciate that they didn’t use the happy end credits scene after the shit we just witnessed, I was also further disturbed of how quiet the atmosphere was when listening to that
I was scared shitless in the end. I can't even watch it again. The one tim i tried i lost my guts before the video ever got to that part and played Oswald the Luck Rabbit's theme song instead. And keep in mind i watched Nicholson, Hamill, and LEDGER'S versions of the Joker (and a few other ones, but that's besides the point). And i was OK (througth honestly i'm too scared to watch the 2019 film). Also, little reminder here: Grubhogs spit acid. So, yeah, her trauma is very legitimate. And Olivia's fear was pretty much Grom all over again, amrite?
Usually they air the previous episodes every weekend on Sunday's after Saturdays, so I can't take that episode anymore, so I'll just rewatch Spider Sprig then change the channel.
A theory I have is that "The Core" is actually a robotic proxy body. Go back to the end of The First Temple and look at the size of The Core compared to Andrias. Then rewatch the possession scene and compare Andrias to it again. It looks a *hell* of a lot smaller than before, doesn't it? Also, notice how in The First Temple the creature has 13 eyes, while this one has 9. Unless these were all scale and design errors, *there's probably a bigger one somewhere else.*
I feel like this was teased in the episodes where the Plantars are watching the Star Wars prequels, in that, Anakin lost a laser sword battle and was brought to recover and put into a metal suit by a power mad tyrant. Which is kinda what happened here, ain’t it?
Diego A. Acuña: Yes finally someone analogous the similarities between Darcy's transformation and Vader's transformation ironically considering the fact that when Anakin transform into Vader, he left no longer Anakin the same with Marci with the Core.
I know Matt said none of the girls will be getting together with each other within Amphibia itself, but millions of fanfiction possibilities have just been opened with that Prom poster alone.
i really hope not . over shipping ruins a shows plot because everyone is more focased on who the main characters should be partnered with than the story itself . That’s exactly what happened with “Star Vs The Forces of Evil”
@@ItznoBigdeal I’m not saying it should happen within the show itself. I actually agree with you on that one. But perhaps somebody could write a sequel story where the girls are actually in high school.
Honestly, I'm not so sure how Anne and Sasha will be able to save Marcy. That thing might be so attached to her that if they try to remove it, Marcy could suffer a serious permanent brain damage, or in worst case scenario, death by Persistent Vegetative State. Do you think Matt is serious enough to perform such a gambling move in order to create a good ending, where we can learn that not everyone can get a happy ending, without too much Deus Ex Machina?
I know that basically everyone is sad of what happened to Marcy (me too, she's a best character for me too), but am I the only one who actually got happy and excited when we finally saw the full form of the Core, not just the eyes and also finally got at least a minimum explanation of what it is?
The Night being just a machine that stored the minds of thousands upon thousands of the world’s smartest Newts and not a demon threw me for a loop, but the way Marcy had the Night’s many souls transferred into her made me cry inside cause the way Marcy was screaming and seemingly erased and replaced with all that information reminded me so much of Lucy, the person before is gone and in it’s place a computer
after hearing marcy's scream now I really wanted to hear andria's blood curdle scream but no animal voice this time. his real voice combined with animal voice
Now this… was an amazing episode. I was so freakin hyped to see it. I’m such a sucker for the darker moments and, I can’t wait to see how things go from here. This show just keeps getting better and better.
I’m praying that Andrias DOESN’T get a redemption arc he’s a fantastically heartless villain on the scales of Judge Claude Frollo from the Hunchback of Norte Dame. And Thanos of Infinity War, He’s interesting and Andrias flashbacks are sorely needed to explain how he became the Night’s servant. But NOT REDEEMABLE. He’s the Omni-Man of Amphibia to me. Watch Amazon prime’s Invincible cartoon if you don’t know who Omni-Man is.
I wished Marcy said this to King Andrias in Season 3 Episode 7 Olivia and Yunan “Andrias what did your Master promise you?” “You really think they will let you live after your usefulness is done.” That line is from the Movie War for the Planet of the Apes 2017.
I still don’t believe this is the final season but how knows we shall see and btw two more weeks till the mid season finale and Dark Marcy and King Andres and his army arrive on earth
When I first heard the end credits at "Olivia and Yunnan" I was scared for Life. Literally I was nervously looking around my room after the episode ended 😂! But when you speed it up I was straight up traumatized. I didn't even notice the scream at the first time but now I do. "True colours" massed up our feelings now " Olivia and Yunnan" came and it was the cherry on the top.
I like these Episodes and I hope Marcy will be Saved by her Friends Anne, Sasha and The Planters because Marcy is still their Friend and even if she fights Anne and Sasha they will find a Way to free her from The Night!😧❤💗⭐🤩
I think Yunan's fear stemmed moreso from how her peers reacted instead of the Grubhog itself: All three of the fears shown had to do with feelings of things like shame or humiliation, rejection. Olivia's rejected and shamed by her mother, Yunan is afraid of something that hurt her and lead to her classmates shaming and mocking her, and Marcy is afraid of being rejected by her friends and she feels guilty and shameful for what she's done towards them.
Honestly, I highly doubt and hope that all these theories of Andria's redemption arc false. Because Andrias would be better as a villain and overall character through and through. He's a fully realized villain by the actions he showed in True Colors. Run Marcy through even though he liked her, fooled everyone of his true intentions, annihilated an entire population of Toads and more to come. He is one of the best villains to come on screen because he knows exactly what he's doing and will follow through what the Core asks of him. Yet despite all this, he can still do all of this with a goofy demeanor and a smile. Keith David and the writers really sold it well that Andrias is heartless. Now there's a thought, someone should make a KH fanart of him!
As the core it may have it's own motivation to invade the multiverse in a effort to stop the prophecy At least marcy might overcome the core with her own intelligence
5:16 it's funny, now that I think of it Olivia and Yunan are kinda reflections on Sasha and Anne. Yunan being a toughened war hero with brashness and strength with a pink skin color (Calamity colors anyone?) And Olivia being a reflection of Anne, a leader who puts herself before others with a blue skintone I dunno I thought this detail was neat to think about!
About Yunnan's fear, I think they're saving the good stuff for later, and that's why in this episode her fear was just a joke. No one specifically said those are their GREATEST fears, even though it is likely, but I think that with the others, they know what they are afraid of, but with Yunnan, I think she truly believes she doesn't fear anything but grubhogs, and she isn't even aware about her greater fears. maybe that was the reason the eyes used grubhogs, they transformed into what she consciously fears without bothering exploring deeper
I think we can say that each week we'll have a fun episode and a plot episode. Like for next week we have Hollywood Hop Pop (Fun episode) and If you give a frog a cookie (Plot Episode)
I thought of an interesting theory. Maybe yunan being afraid of the grubhog isn't just a throw away joke. In the episode the grubhog was first introduced in, it told the flying creature that spirited it away that they're going to war. What if that's serious? What if the grubhog knew about some of this crazy stuff and has been mounting an army of Amphibia native creatures? I could be going a bit far here, but it's an interesting thought.

And YOU got mind-murdered, assimilated into a hivemind, and ordered to kill your childhood friends?!
Yeah you all needed this badly.
Make them all meet up at my office at 9 o’clock Monday
This episode turned dark real fast and I loved it! The creepy imagery of Olivia's fears twisting into a monster, Sasha and Anne fusing together(totally reminded me a little of Gravity Falls when that creature that tried to trick Dipper by pretending to be the author fused Dipper and Mabel), the core spesifically grabbing Marcy's head, her fear, her screams. God *chef kiss*
I just want to give Marcy a huge hug. Poor girl 😢
:O
I’m a literally broken 😞…
Marcy’s literally 13! And gets possessed by some crazy newt king. It’s all up to Anne now :(.
Sasha: Guess I’ll die
XL: *stops Sasha by grabbing her arm* I'll go actually... *tears come out* Even if I'll miss those king-sized chickens and giant oversized mallets...
I imagine Sasha will help as well.
@@phasemollasis6748 SASHA HATER >:(
I hope Marcy is still in there when she’s possessed by The Core Beast hopefully her green calamity powers will help to break her free from The Core Beast’s control or Anne & Sasha will have heart to heart with her to get through to her for her to fight over control of her body to break free from getting her mind destroyed for The Core Beast to kill her
Yeah I want that to buttttttttt the way we are going here not might happen but I still hopeeee it! Also I think Marcy was gonnaaaa ask Anne to that prom
With wanting the smartest kind, comes a risk of having that said smart mind figuring out a way to beat it
Only Anne has calamity powers everyone else had it all drained
Marky’s voice was not what I expected 🤔, but then again I wasn’t expecting The Night to be digital monster of a hive minds 😑
Marky wu😏
This episode was so emotional
I love the voice acting, the voice for marcy did an amazing job. Definitely on pare with The diamonds and the crystal gems getting corrupted by White And especially when Eda transformed into the owl beast 💙💚💖
Anybody else notice in marcy’s theme song she says: “Hope nothing bad ever happens to me!”
*ya jinxed ya self MARCY*
Edit: also in the book there is an image of Bill cipher on the left page on one of the frames
I like to think of the Core by analyzing one tiny detail. Andrias, the megalomaniacal conqueror who refers to his ancestors (presumably the same ones that make up the Core) as "glorious" and he said the Core was made from "the greatest minds Amphibia has ever known" combine these two thoughts and it becomes clear that Andrias' idea of "great mind" means "evil and tyrannical geniuses"
In other words, what modern sensibilities would consider the opposite of great.
The episode was amazing but sad and terrifying
I can live with this hiatus, so I don't need to keep thinking about Marcy.
Yup!
Therapist: AnnePog doesn't exist, she can't hurt you
AnnePog: 3:29
I love the dark credits, I feel that Marcy is 100% stuck and needs the growth of knowing her friends won't abandon her. We saw her reaction with the nightmare but what hit me the most, has to be Andrias, his reaction shows that he came to like Marcy
Why isn't anyone talking about the eye on Marcy's chest
I mean.. there has to be a consequence after her impalement in true colors
Fake Edit: Dang.. Marcy can't catch a break now can she
Real edit: Has anyone else realized that Olivia and Yunann both sport two of the calamity colors blue and pink, and they try to rescue Marcy.. the green calamity color
Just saying
Yeah!
Forget Mr.Boonchoy MARCY Has had A lot of trouble.
She can’t
The core taking over Marcy's body as she screamed in pain is just so traumatizing, my poor child...
I think the poster that says "Prom? Yes or yes?" Could be interpreted as Marcy not liking parties or even being afraid of them, since she said she has trouble sociolizing.
"MARCY IS GONE!"
🦀: *It's showtime*
My prediction/hope (god I hope so) is that Anne and Sasha and everyone are gonna take that helmet off and slap the core out of Marcy.
Okay theory:
Anne will temporarily take on Marcy's green powers to get inside her mind.
She will help her friend regain herself and the green powers will get transferred to Marcy via the mental connection.
I know its not fleshed out but eh whatcha gonna do?
Oooo interesting
It's like the series said that marcy would suffer as much as Anne and Sasha 50 times harder and 30 times quicker
No Kidding
Pink Steven: She's gone.
Olivia: What did you say?
Pink Steven: She's *GOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!!*
Well there is 10 on the helmet of Marcy, 1 one chestplate, and another on king adrias crowm, so that means another is missing, somewhere mysterious...
YOU’LL PAY FOR THIS KING ANDRIAS!!!
Oh, you bet he will. In a long line of great Disney films, the Villian usually suffers a gruesome death.
I like the chemistry between yunan and olivia
I just finished watching this episode and I flipping cried! The possession animation was so chilling but so cool!
Ok marcy being Darcy oh this is not good
Judging by two episodes lefted I can see the Christmas special that Darcy will make her next appearance
I hope Anne manages save Marcy.

I feel like this was teased in the episodes where the Plantars are watching the Star Wars prequels, in that, Anakin lost a laser sword battle and was brought to recover and put into a metal suit by a power mad tyrant. Which is kinda what happened here, ain’t it?
Pretty much.
Diego A. Acuña:
Yes finally someone analogous the similarities between Darcy's transformation and Vader's transformation ironically considering the fact that when Anakin transform into Vader, he left no longer Anakin the same with Marci with the Core.
@@marcoacuna1980 that’s what they call foreshadowing!
@@JasontheCartoonFan Now that sounds really interesting and i would love to see that a spin off like that . Anything is possible lol
I’m so excited of this scene. Dark moments make these shows so intense and good
As long as no good character dies, after all, this is still a kids show.
@@zacharyyamashita8554 yeah good point, no need for going too far. Limits are made for a reason
It personnaly reminded me of GLaDOS
No, don't make me cry any more than I already am!!!!!!
Wow. The end scene ties with cursed Belos as the scariest scene I’ve seen so far.
after hearing marcy's scream now I really wanted to hear andria's blood curdle scream but no animal voice this time. his real voice combined with animal voice
Or Burn to Death from Lava.
The robots are gossiping 😂😂😂
Now this… was an amazing episode. I was so freakin hyped to see it. I’m such a sucker for the darker moments and, I can’t wait to see how things go from here. This show just keeps getting better and better.
Okay so like she need the best therapist alIvE for this child Marcy’s gonna need 50 therapists tbh
lol if it was 5 or maybe even 3 years ago I would have gone “ITS BILL!”
This was by far the most intense ep of Season 3 and maybe the whole show 😳
It weird that it hit me harder compared to Marcy getting stabbed.
@@zacharyyamashita8554 not at all lol. I think True Colors was more tragic and sad, this ep was just straight up horrifying

The Roundtable: MARCY'S GONE!
Me: MARCY'S GONE... Temporally
Exactly. I don't get why people want him redeemed.
Same, exactly like Toffee from SVTFOE, except in a more sinister way.
I wished Marcy said this to King Andrias in Season 3 Episode 7 Olivia and Yunan “Andrias what did your Master promise you?” “You really think they will let you live after your usefulness is done.” That line is from the Movie War for the Planet of the Apes 2017.
I still don’t believe this is the final season but how knows we shall see
and btw two more weeks till the mid season finale and Dark Marcy and King Andres and his army arrive on earth
Well it is, and everything will turn out happy in the end, this is still a Disney Show.
She will be saved, if it's one thing DISNEY hates, it's unhappy/bittersweet endings, no wonder they're airing Marcy's theme song takeover a lot.
Giving her tendency towards grandstanding, this context on her fear makes perfect sense. She's _overcompensating_ for it.
Actually, grubhogs spit acid.
No shit Sherlock, he's obviously a way better Villian then Emperor Belos of The Owl House as of now.
Yes another one of these
As the core it may have it's own motivation to invade the multiverse in a effort to stop the prophecy
At least marcy might overcome the core with her own intelligence
Dude. That scream rumor... now that gave me chills
Anyone gonna talk about when Marcy got corrupted andrias looked back in regret although I won't forgive andrias I hope he can change
Uh, he ain't gonna change, it's to late for him.
5:16 it's funny, now that I think of it Olivia and Yunan are kinda reflections on Sasha and Anne.
Yunan being a toughened war hero with brashness and strength with a pink skin color (Calamity colors anyone?)
And Olivia being a reflection of Anne, a leader who puts herself before others with a blue skintone
I dunno I thought this detail was neat to think about!
Marcy isn’t gone.
The Marcy personality is just extremely suppressed or altered.
She needs her stone
Like I keep saying, but no one's listening, SHE'S NOT DEAD !!!!! >:(
Geez DUDE! Thanks for bringing back the Trauma!
Roundtable: Marcy's scream was really unsettling to hear.
Also Roundtable: Wanna listen?
I've been waiting for your opinion since the episode
And hopefully that plot episode is not as intense as Olivia & Yunan.
Anne: If I have to put you down. Then I will.
(At 3:45) what episode was _THIS_ scene on season 3 of Marcy?
