Amphibia's holiday episode Little Froggy Christmas saw Anne finally address Marcy and Sasha's absence with letters addressed to their parents. Not only do these letters hint that Sasha's parents are separated/divorced, but combined with an interview from Matt Braly, is it possible that Marcy or Sasha have already been left behind by their family?

Marcy being left behind would make her separation from the Core even more difficult. After what she's been through, she may not even care about leaving the hive mind tbh
I can't refute that. If Marcy's family did move away, due to the job offer and the time frame to make the decision, that may push her to stay with the Core.
Good point but my bigger worry is what could happen if they found about Anne return with the intention of holding her accountable for what happened to them.

A line I don’t see people bring up after we learned that Sasha’s parents are divorced is that in Reunion, when Anne is trying to go home, Sasha says “Hang out with your friends that love you” implying that Anne’s don’t love her which is far from the truth. It’s likely she was projecting
She was projecting her relationship with her parents onto Anne. And likely envys the great relationship Anne has with her parents.
And possibly Marcy if she does have good parents
I mean Sasha had to have made Marcy miss an important family event at some point prior to the events of the show

Oh she'll get a happy ending alright, or else us Marcy fans will riot, plus this is Disney, not Cartoon Network. All the good characters in Amphibia will likely have happy endings, because Disney will not allow bittersweet/cliffhanger endings.

The thing is, I'm pretty sure the 3 girls' parents know each other. As mentioned in "The Sleepover to End All Sleepovers", the 3 frequently had sleepovers together. Generally, when there's a sleepover, there's at least some sort of contact among parents. And these 3 girls have known each other since Kindergarten. As such, they must know each other.
In addition, for sure, the disappearances of all 3 would be linked by the police. They wouldn't just be assumed to be completely separate incidents. These were 3 close friends who all suddenly disappeared on the same day. For sure, there would have been some contact among the parents during the time when all 3 girls were in Amphibia.
I suspect Anne's parents may have already had some offscreen contact with the Wus and/or the Waybrights since Anne's return, but it's not clear to me how they're handling it because we're not shown. I do find it weird that the issue has yet to come to a head on the show, so I hope Part 2 of Season 3 hits the ground running with it.
I think that's why a lot of people have been secretly frustrated with season 3. The episodes have been great, but they've been ignoring the obvious conflicts that the story has set up. Half a seasons gone by, and they've shoved this stuff under the rug.
When 3 girls reunite on earth 🌎 they can have a sleepover in one of the episodes of season 3b amphibia and find a to get the plantars home and defeated Andreas

This has been the one thing that's been bothering me the whole halfseason. No mention of Sasha and Marcy's parents in all previous episodes until the very last one. Finally we get to see more of the consequences and real issues caused by their accidental transporation to a whole new world
I really what to see the fallout that Sasha's and Marcy's disappearance caused on their respective families.
I wish Disney executives didn't determine what kids are emotionally ready for. I bet we would have had that episode already if society would treat children more like adults (as far as conversations at least, be real with kids, they can handle it). Childhood is a made up concept.

imagine that marcy's parents tries to blame anne by have their daughter stranded on amphibia, only before "darcy" tells them why she left to another world in realtiy, the fact that their decision to move into another city put in movement the chain of events that led marcy to be turned into a drone and a potential alien invasion would hit them quite hard...

As for Marcy’s parents, they may have already moved out of Los Angeles after Marcy’s Dad has already accepted the job offer, but they may come back after they receive Anne’s letter informing them their daughter is alive and want answers on what happened to her.
Yeah but their one small thing that we are not clear is how will they react or if they will believe her if they found out it was Anne who sent the letters?
I bet Marcy ‘s parents very mean to her and rude so they kicked her out no longer want her anymore
Thankfully we got our answers in the journal her dad delayed the job and he and his wife stayed in LA for five whole months hoping for there daughter to come back home and when Marcy returned home her dad moved ahead and she and her mom stayed in LA for a few weeks while Marcy recovers and spend her final weeks with Anne and Sasha before officially moving away
@@garrettjackson1451Normally, I would've mentioned that after Marcy's parents received Anne's letter, Marcy's dad would feel bad for not understanding what was important for her daughter's life instead of what's important for his. So once Marcy returrns home, she and her parents apologise to each other as her dad decides to cancel their move to Hopkinton for good and obviously find a bigger place somewhere close to either Anne or Sasha's homes. I realized there was a bigger apartment house next door to Anne's house. So after a few weeks of doctors and therapy until Marcy's scar on her chest heals, but will permanently stay anyway, Marcy and her parents can move to that apartment and Marcy and Anne are official neighbours. Even Sasha and her mom decide to move into Marcy's new home too and take residence in the apartment above her. This make Anne happiest of all that her two BFFs are now her next-door neighbours and they'll be together every day ever since from now on.
Knew back when Sasha let go at the tower, talking about how Anne would be better off without her, that her parents were split. That’s so child of divorce behaviour

My theory on their parents was they were always neglectful and Anne was the only real family before the series started and I still feel it might be true, at least in Marcy’s case if they did indeed move away. Sasha’s parents being divorced / going through a divorce is reason enough for her toxic and controlling behavior.
If Marcy's Parents are very neglectful then Marcy wasn't wrong to run away. What was wrong was manipulating Anne and Sasha into stealing the Calamity Box, instead of going directly to the Boonchuys and telling them everything. She could have possibly told one of Sasha's Parents as well since Reunion implied one or both of them are either Wealthy or upper middle class.

I Think Sasha’s Dad Is Neglectful Because He Doesn’t Want Her To Learn About His Past. (Because He Is Billy Cranston And He Is The OG Blue Ranger)
As someone who has divorced parents as well as toxic(in different ways), I can completely understand Sasha’s actions. Wanting to control everything happening, not caring about rules or anyones feelings aside your own, the whole enchilada. However that doesn’t necessarily excuse her actions, it just explains them. She still isn’t the best person as Sasha still has some growing to do(as typical reformed befriended antagonist must follow the Disney formula) but that doesn’t mean you can’t sympathize for.
I didn't think I'd sympathize with her more then I already do.
Sasha got kicked out of the house when she was little and fighting against bullies thought they hurt on forehead and that is how they were misunderstood and didn’t explain and they have faults
Look, picture the situation when it comes to Marcy’s parents:
The girls have been gone for five months with nary a trace. For all any of the parents know, they're gone and never coming back. They're most likely dead.
The Wus had already decided to move before they disappeared. Mr. Wu had accepted the job. It was happening and couldn't just be stopped.
"But that just shows he cared more about his job than his own daughter!"
We do Not know the circumstances at the time, just the testimony of an emotionally vulnerable girl who reacted badly to the news. For all we know, this move was 100% essential. A lot of people are theorising the Wus are in financial strains and if true, paints their decision in a different light to what many are seeing. I mean, what are we supposed to think? Good ol’ Papa Wu woke up one morning and said to his wife,
“Hey honey, you know what? I really hate our daughter. So I’m gonna apply for a new job out of state and uproot her life purely out of spite and contempt for her.” ??
The Wus aren't gonna be Shadow Weaver. They're gonna be real people who had to make a difficult decision and who now likely believe they've lost their daughter forever after a badly handled argument. Even if the move wasn't absolutely necessary, who could blame them for wanting to carry through with it for their own emotional sake?
Edit: This is a nitpick, but I think you probably should’ve re-worded at 6:02. If they have grieve and moved on, how is that a case of them not “taking them back with open arms” and “leaving them behind”? If they truly believed their daughter is dead, then they have to grieve and at some point move on with their lives as you said. Unless they’re portrayed as Netflix abusive caricatures, I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t rush back to LA to find her again once they catch wind she’s alive and well (well… you know what I mean). The conflict may arise that now Marcy has to the leave state with them at the end of the show.

Yeah honestly for me it would really weird if they end up not having moved on. You're not going to lose your job just to wait for your daughter that all evidence shows she is dead. And I don't think it's heartless in the slightest in that situation it's just what makes sense. There would definitely be guilt but staying back jobless waiting will just get you killed too, which I guess is a potential angle they can take having them go crazy and have them be found homeless on the streets looking for marcy but I feel like that would just be trying too hard to make it emotional in this case
@@spyro2002 exactly i mean annes parents are the only ones we've really seen but they already have an established business and have built a welcoming thai community that were there for them when they couldn't bring themselves to work but like a lot of people the wu family probably wasn't as fortunate.

I've clung onto the hope that after her disappearance Marcy's dad gave up the new job and they stayed in LA hoping she'll come home (which may make it all the more devastating if in fact her family did end up moving). We've seen tidbits of how Anne's disappearance affected her parents, but it would be interesting to get a Season 3B flashback episode showing what those months on Earth were like for the Boonchuys, Wus and Waybrights while the girls were trapped in Amphibia. What was it like on them emotionally and mentally, to have their daughters vanish without a trace?
For the Wus it was after Marcy ran out on them (which could effectively be seen as running away from home), while Anne was supposed to go home for her birthday (and her parents probably thought she'd come straight home after school and didn't know she and Sasha skipped school to go hang out), and Sasha may have just left home to go to school that day and never told her parents anything so they'll have no idea where she'd be at or that she was with Anne or Marcy. In fact, I'd almost bet none of the parents knew at first that all three girls met up and went missing together, although as time passed they may have been able to deduce that, especially if all three sets of parents filed a missing person report and a police investigation concluded that.
I've also speculated that given they disappear in late spring, and thus close to the end of the school year, that the pool party Sasha was having was a graduation party for her class. There are three uniform colors at Saint James Middle School, which I suspect represent different grade years (so maybe 6th-8th grade or 7th-9th), and Sasha would be in the highest grade while Anne and Marcy would be in the lower ones (not sure if Anne would be in the lowest given she just turned 13, or if Marcy would though maybe cause she's so smart she skipped a grade), meaning purple would be the lowest grade, then green then pink.
I don't think colors actually represent grades considering how Sasha and Anne still did have classes together and technically speaking, Marcy is the oldest of the trio as I recall and actually the "graduation pool party" would be like at the end of June for Anne to return at the end of November/beginning of December considering how she was gone for 5 months and is probably a few weeks back on Earth only.
Also, take into consideration how toxic the trio actually was at that time. I'm quite surprised that at least one of the families of the girls wouldn't consider or point out the fact that their relationship was indeed toxic to some extent considering how Sasha would get girls in trouble from time to time and Anne would usually take all blame on herself in some scenarios (the party on the roof). There could be even possible that the reason why all three families don't cooperate with one another is probably that sooner or later any of their cooperation turned into blaming one another who was responsible for their daughters' disappearance. Was it Marcy and the strict life that motivated both Anne and Sasha to run away with her? Was it Sasha''s rotten apple attitude that is the effect of her parents being divorced? Or was it Boonchuy's fault for being too "lenient" with Anne that let her run away on her birthday while also skipping school? Of course, none of their parents are exactly to blame for girls actions and I'm pretty sure all of them blame themselves as well, but if girls toxic behavior caught the attention of their parents, their parents may have disdain for this friendship that could even affect their relationship with other parents (you still get what I say right? Because at this point I'm afraid I complicated it too much)
Ok to sum it up clearly - Girls' relationship since was very toxic, may have affected how the families of the girls affected their relationship with one another, and the reason why Boonchuy's for example didn't contact either Wus or Waybrights is that neither family wants to talk with one another anymore since the investigation probably ended 2 months ago prior to Anne's return so there's no reason for them to grief together, especially if neither family could stand each other at this point.
But I don’t know when will season 3b amphibia is going to happen or trailer
Although they're said to be 13 in the series, the crew always envisioned them as 16 year olds, so i theorize Sasha was being the host of a graduation party from the grade above them (sorta like a farewell to them).

Something I wanted to say on Sasha's parents not believing their daughter is really missing after half a year. I was reminded of a character in a video game that went missing for that long, Rachel Amber from Life is Strange. It's stated in the game that her parents were in denial about their daughter's disappearance after six months, and like Sasha, she was from a wealthy family. So it really could be possible that her parents are in denial and think Sasha is just out on some trip without telling them.
As for Marcy, it really does seem like the show enjoys beating her around I can really see her parents left for that job, I even mentioned that idea before season 3 was out.

I truly hope that 3B will focus much more on Anne, Marcy, and Sasha's relationship and them being gone for 5 months instead of the Plantars doing silly Earth stuff. They're fun, but they just aren't the show's real focus anymore.

How did you not know that? Not trying to be rude but the fact that all three of the girls had been stuck in Amphibia is kinda the whole point of the show.
Anne trying to reach out to Sasha and Marcy's parents is unfortunately likely how she will be finally caught by Mr. X, and it's probably because of one small seemingly insignificant detail: her thumb is touching the letter she is writing on. One of these letters will get reported to the authorities, get tested for fingerprints, Mr. X will catch wind of the investigation, and have a excuse for an arrest warrant to fingerprint Anne to confirm the match that she is the writer. How this situation will be resolved is beyond me, but it may result in more than just Anne and the Plantars going through Terri's portal to return to Amphibia.

I just want to add that Sasha’s parents divorce had to have been something she knew about because if she didn’t she would have just signed the letter to “The Waybright Family” so the divorce or separation couldn’t have happened while she was in Amphibia and I doubt that her parents told her because I don’t think that they would have known or they would’ve brought it up sooner or even hinted at it in past episodes
Boy to think at the end of the Christmas Special when Anne had to write to Both Sasha and Marcy's parents it left me wondering did Marcy's parents abandon her after they moved? Sasha's parents' status of being separated/divorced being implied when Sasha told Anne, "you're a good little girl who has to come home to her mommy and daddy," is genius writing.
It seems like such a basic thing to say for Sasha, but definitely hits different after the Christmas episode.
Sasha's parents being divorced (or going through one) would make sense on why her friendship with Anne and Marcy eventually became toxic.

Dang Season 3 of Amphibia is dark but exciting. Can't wait to see the rest of this season. Love the Christmas special so far.
I hope we get to see Sasha & Marcy reuniting with their parents at the end of the series and hopefully Marcy will break free from The Night’s control and get home to her parents to make amends with them

in the last episode "True Colors" (Aka the last episode of season 2 of Amphibia) when Anne and the Planters got to the Human World, you can see there are a truck called "Home movers" in the background, there's a possibility that her parents are already moving without her
Given the job offer and the sudden disappearance of Marcy, I wonder if there's an option that maybe Marcy's mom (bio or step mother) chose to stay in LA to keep looking for her while the dad goes onto that new job. And if so, how often did Mr. Wu stay in touch for updates? And if the timing of Anne's letter might either reignite the search from Mrs. Wu, bringing her back to LA to get more information.

Wow amphibia and the owl house are almost identical right now, both protagonist are trying to build a portal to another world to either return home or save someone.

@@boe_jo9778 Season 1 wasn't terrible, nor was it impressive. But it was interesting enough to make you wanna keep going. By Season 2, things definitely got amped up. But the fandom can be broken down into three catagories.
1. Shippers. The largest part of the fandom. A bunch of cutesy art about Lumity and Raieda. Sometimes some Lunter.
2. The Empathetic. The guys who make sad art about the underlying negative emotions hinted in the shows, like abuse, abandonment and suicide.
3. The Theorists. The smallest part of the fandom. Remnants from the Gravity Falls fandom trying to reignite a spark that's been dormant for years.
Something tells me both Sasha and Marcy will end up staying in Amphibia since their lives, other than their Andrias in full-blown villain mode time, were better that what they had on earth. I mean, it's clear Sasha's relationship with her parents was close to nonexistent, and Marcy was following the same path. Once we see our geeky girl free from the Core and Sasha completes her redemption ark, I'm sure they'll stay along with the Plantars. Also, I'm betting Marcy will emerge with a turbocharged brain from her time with the Core, thus allowing her to develop a portal between the earth and Amphibia that will allow everyone to visit each other from time to time.
That would work. Although Sasha and Marcy might return to Earth for College. And Terri might develop portal watches.

We unfortunately didn’t see any Sasha’s or Marcy’s parents but maybe Marcy Journal can give hits to what her partners are like and Maybe Sasha’s. It’s will be interesting to see and I can wait to see Marcy Joranl 😀
I hope Mr and Mrs Boonchuy will have the opportunity to interact with Marcy and Sasha’s parents. Just imagine Mrs Boonchuy and Mrs Waybright having a similar frenemy dynamic like Anne and Sasha, with both being their own type of Badass Woman.
Or Mr Wu and Mr Boonchuy possible interactions.
So many possibilities with the Trio’s parents interacting with each other or arguing with each other even.
I doubt the parents of Marcy & Sasha will be seen in the upcoming episodes “All In”. & I also doubt how they’re going to react on what is going to be happening. But we’ll see what happens in the next upcoming episode of Disney’s Amphibia.
I agree that Sasha's behavior is the result of her parents' possible divorce. As a result, she probably doesn't hold the idea of family in such high regard. I do see Grime as a bit of a father figure to Sasha. He cares for her, but he's also tough on her. He doesn't coddle her. He makes her confront her issues. I could imagine Grime helping Sasha comfront whatever issue she may have with her parents.
As for Marcy's parents, as much as I hate to say it, I do believe it's possible that they moved away. They probably stayed a little longer hoping they could find Marcy, but eventually gave up and moved on. Their hopes may be renewed when they receive Anne's letter. I wonder how things will go when Marcy reveals that she's the reason she, Anne and Sasha went missing for so long.
I think Sasha and Marcy would be reunited with their parents before the series finale, and their friends from Amphibia would join them. I would like to see a couple episodes of how Sasha and Marcy would readjust to their lives on Earth after coming back from Amphibia.
I don't know if anyone else noticed it at the end of the Christmas episode but when Darcy is talking to king Andreas, I noticed a cord coming from the helmet they're wearing. if it's like a computer and it uploaded into her maybe they can take the cord out as a way to save her. I don't know it was something I noticed.

You pretty much nailed down what could happen in season 3b. I agree with you that Sasha may have turned down a wrong path after her parents had split up. And the thought that Marcy's parents had moved on without her is even more heartwrenching. Girl's been through a lot, Matt. Let her rest! Although I would've appreciated season 3a having a focus on all three girls instead of having an episode each for Marcy and Sasha and focusing intently on Anne and the Plantars' adventures, but I can only hope that we can get spinoffs and movies focusing on Marcy and Sasha and not Anne entirely.
If it comes down to it, then Marcy could move in with Anne…the Boonchuy’s seem like the kind of people who would do that.

Its been shown that many, if not most, parents of missing children never move, never change their address, never change their telephone numbers in the event that the child might come home or try to contact them. I believe that Marcy's and Sasha's parents love them as much as Anne's parents love her, in their own way.

When I thought of Marcy's potential of being left behind, I was gutted.. and then your thoughts on what might have happened, it absolutely killed me inside. I /am/ a Mother! I could never leave my child behind, especially if there was any hope they were still out there.... maybe even if not. Thats just not what that does to a parent.. Unless they were awful to begin with.
The problem is, painting the Wus as awful parents is the easy route.
We don’t know the circumstances of why Mr Wu needed this job. It may have been financially necessary or they spent Christmas on skid row. They may have waited as long as they could.
It’s easier to say ‘I’d never do the same thing’, but it’s a grim situation I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

what the problem for me in season 2 is they focuse way to much on the planters and anns family along with her,we barely get any clue what happens to marcy/now darcy,during anns adventures,and we barely know what happened after sasha and the toads who fought with sasha,during their escape,we barely know anything about both marcy and sashas family life and what lead to marcy leaving the house that one episode when she had a breakdown,not to mention what the consiquences are due to the abandonment of both marcy and sasha when ann and the planters teleported to earth

I had a theory about the lack of questions about where Sasha and Marcy went. My theory is that Sasha’s parents covered it up since they are rich, and said she moved schools or whatever so they could investigate what really happened. And for Marcy, since her parents probably did move people probably just thought she moved away and didn’t question it.
Huh, this was interesting, makes me look forward to what’s more in store.

You made some good points but I still think it is the other way around. Sasha seems like the type of person to be angry and impulsive enough to not go home for a couple of days and end up just staying at a friends house. I feel like there is a chance that her parents might think that Sasha is just throwing another one of her "fits" and will show up eventually.
Regardless if that was right I actually fully believe that the Wus are the family taking it hardest when you compare their last interactions with each of their daughters. The last interaction one of Sasha's parents had was saying bye to their kid as they went to school, the last interaction the Boonchuys had was probably Ann texting that she'll be late for her party, the Wus' last interaction was Marcy storming out of the house saying she hates them and that they are ruining her life. Any parent with that as the last time they spoke to their kid before they disappeared long enough to be presumed dead would be distraught beyond belief and probably would blame themselves. I even think Mr. Wu turned down the job and the family is still in town because I don't expect them to be able to deal with a statewide move and job reassignment while grieving, or maybe they wanted to stay just in case Marcy came back.

I think that both families are very caring of their daughters and think they could still be alive, even though the possibility is very unlikely. Marcy’s parents could have left LA throughout this period of time, but would most likely come back if the letter Anne wrote reaches them. Sasha’s parents are most likely split up, one remaining in the house in LA and one out of the city. It’s very likely we will see a half-episode in the future on Earth focusing on Marcy and Sasha’s parents and what they do about the letter. If Marcy’s parents knew that she was being used as a puppet for something superior back on Amphibia, they would must likely be furious and try to enter Amphibia themselves to save her. But, they probably won’t find out until Marcy tells them herself (if she even can)
