- In every fan community of shows and movies, there are countless theories where people speculated what would happen next. Amphibia is no exception to that, which isn't surprising that The Owl House and Gravity Falls are also shows that incentivized theory-craftiing. While some of these theories came true, many of them were debunked and were forgotten by the fandom. So what are some of these "forgotten" Amphibia theories?

I got to say, out of all of the videos I made for the past couple years, this is my favorite one to make yet. I hope you guys enjoyed watching it because if you do, I’ll gladly make more videos where I look into more old theories of Amphibia, and maybe other shows too.
I love amphibia and these old theories are great so I hope to see a video about penn-zero part time hero and theories about that show marngelrambles and I support you!

The concept of the 4th dimension is easy to understand. Think of a sphere in the 3rd dimension getting bigger then getting smaller. 4th dimensional beings could see through you, also they can time travel

I had a theory that Sasha would befriend Ivy, since Anne became friends with Sprig and Marcy befriended Maddie, and when the girls left Amphibia, the Calamity powers would be passed down to Sprig (Blue), Ivy (Red), and Maddie (Green).
I do fondly remember the Anne losing her arm theory too well. Because I ended up getting bombarded with discussions about it when I first got into Amphibia & the fandom. I figured it wouldn't happen, but then when Grime lost his arm I was like "Well. You were half right Amphibia fans."

Yeah I still freshly remember the whole Anne lose an arm and Sasha loses an eye theories.
Honestly the Sasha one eye theory was kinda popular after Turning Point, and the S3 Intro with Sasha standing alongside Grime, Wally, Loggle and Mrs Croaker, All one eyed characters.
Honestly, a lot of the theories on Marcy's personality DID end up being true, just not overtly so. Marcy is actually just as manipulative as Sasha, given the whole Calamity Box situation. She also genuinely seems to view others as like, NPCs in a video game or things she can use to make herself feel better. This doesn't make her a bad character, and she grows by the end, but the fandom tends to think of her as the one member of the trio that never did anything bad and that is FAR from the truth.
Ikr? Also we have to notice that she was living her fantasy world in Amphibia, she was probably more cheerful than usual taking that into account... I wouldn't say she's worse than Sasha but we did see Marcy just vibing with whatever Sasha came up with so I would say she wasn't much of an angel either.
I was thinking this the entire time and I'm glad someone said it. I like that her personality turned out like it did because it shows that people with genuinely nice personalities can be just as manipulative as outwardly mean people, but that also made a whole bunch of viewers completely miss the point and see her as the "good friend" foil to Sasha the "toxic friend," when they're actually two sides of the same coin.
She never rlly had any bad intentions though, of course she is not pure and what she did was rlly selfish, but she never really had pure evil intentions. She does have a lot of guilt in the meantime of season 1, which is shown in marcy’s journal.
All that theorycrafting was one of the most interesting parts of the fandom. I remember another two, one about short-haired Sasha in season 3b and another about Marcy's memories being deleted at the end of "The Core and the King". Also the theory about Anne losing her arm was technically true but we didn't expect for her lose not only the arm but her entire body...

Honestly surprised you didn't cover the theory of Hop Pop dying. That had a REALLY strong following during the show, too.
Also, I don't recall a single time people discussed Sasha losing an eye. I remember one time someone discussed Sasha losing a leg, though.

I remember the theories about Hop Pop dying at some point. After he sees the book he gets scared. A few episodes later, or the same one idk, he says something about being to young to dye. Essentially there are MANY Hop Pop death allusions all culminating in the dream sequence with the huge monsters who have Hop Pop statues on their backs. People then thought he would die in the finale of s2, he didnt. Then onto a sad death in the series finale, no dice.

I remember Anne going back to the shop (where she stole the box) to get clues after true colors.
Anne talking to Marcy and Sasha's parents. The divorce of Sasha's parents before the chistmas episode.
I remember when the show first started when everyone online though that Grime was gonna be the show's main villan
A theory I remember hearing was also quite crazy in hindsight and was basically about how Grime was actually a zombie this whole time. This theory was around the time Maddie and Marcy came out, with the whole reviving spell thing. Basically, we know that Grime was a gladiator before becoming Chief of the Toad Army and it's possible that he lost his eye in a gladiator battle back then. Some people think that another time (or that same time) he also lost his life, until someone revived him with the spell, hence his green glowing eye, like we saw in Maddie and Marcy. Now, this theory was not confirmed, but considering that there might be a graphic novel it seems, maybe it might get confirmed there. If Valeriana being a ghost was confirmed in a Post-Hoot as a sneak peek of Marcy's Journal, then Grime being a zombie can be confirmed by outside media too
Back when I watched Reunion for the 1st time, I seriously thought Sasha might’ve died. Looking back, this made no sense for her character; but I remember being so relieved when we saw her again in season 2.
Not much of a theory but a lot of people expected Sasha to cut her hair in season 3A! Sasha with really short hair is a big thing in Amphibia animatics and fanart from that time

Actually they did. Marcy went to regular therapy sessions and hospital checkups involving her chest scar. It said this in Marcys journal
The letter Leif wrote to Andrias tells me that they were more than just friends I think they loved each other Andrias blushes and looked away during Leifs dance, the secret messages to each other, Andrias the frist to rush to Leif after she fell to her hands and knees after the vission, the worried look on his face, Leif crying into Andrias, Andrias the one that took her betrayl the hardest and his blushing tears in his eyes and scraming her name when she left, and Leif dubbing her self as "your Leif" and her calling him my derest Andrias and saying I wish my love will reach you. Also in the painting Andrias and Leif are looking at eachother and there is a art that Matt Braly did Andrias Berral and Leif are back together and they are on his sholders and Andrias and Leif are looking at eachother.
There was and still is something more than just friendship between Andrias and Leif.
Its canon Andras Leif and Barrel were together

Here are a couple of theories I had for the finale prior to it airing:
Andrias destroys the Core and dies alongside it
Hop Pop dies while protecting Sprig and Polly
Sasha saves Sprig from death
Actually if I'm not wrong the original plan for Marcy WAS to be worst then Sasha. Indeed her character in S1 looks like a total different person

I know the exact feeling of "I'm trying to move my arm and nothing's happening."
For the same reason, I also know that the ending of the movie Coco IS based on reality.
The theories I really remember were the Anne losing an arm and that Hop Pop was going to die. Which is kid of funny because both did happen, but to different characters.
I found the theory of Anne losing an arm, Sasha losing an eye and Marcy being paralyzed very interesting so i think i got so attached to them and now i treat them as my headcanon.
I understand that a lot of people liked the theory just because of the angst, or because the girls "deserve some punishment" or because it's "cool", but honestly i feel that the girls becoming disabled makes sense of the show's theme.
I see it as accidents happening and there are changes in our lives that we cannot control, and we need to adapt.
I think that's it + i love doing headcanons of some minority group, so i wanted to do headcanons of characters with physical disabilities too (i even have the details about my hc of which scene and what happened for them to be disabled but i think the comment would be too long cx )

I also like that Eda lost an arm because the curse ended up giving her some super powers (Harpy Eda), and although I liked Harpy Eda and it was a representation that she is in better terms with herself, I liked that she had another disability, it wasn't treated as something horrible or extraordinary, it simply happened and that's it. I don't know if I could express my point correctly, but the sin squad's video about disability at university monsters explains it much better, i recommend it!
There was a theory where Marcy would come back and be taken over by the core but have a lot of amphibian characteristics and I honestly wish that happened because it would show how Marcy connected with all the amphibia residents and it would make her clumsy side something to be scared of with how fast and sporadic her movements would be. A lot better then clumsy robo-Marc (despite me still loving Darcy)
the theory about Marcy, that after she is released from the core, she will lose the ability to walk, and in the worst case, something will happen and she will lose her legs altogether (this theory refers to those about the loss of Ann's arm and Sasha's eye)
I hope Matt is working on a movie cause honestly I’d love to see the girls and wartwood reunited one last time

Personal Theory: I remember noticing Anne going into a spiral when attacking Andrius and then again in the season 3A intro and when she uppercuts the Frobo. So i thought Anne's spiral would be like a signiture style of her calamity powers. Sadly the spiral effect kinda faded away i think which makes me sad :(

I used to theorize that Yunnan was Emma the newt. I know they only ever mentioned her once, but after Steven Universe, I was pretty much rewired to look too deep into any small character because surely they'll become important later.
Honestly, it's kinda funny how COMPLETELY wrong we all were about Marcy's personality back then.
This is my first time hearing About any of these theories.

I watch amphibia a month ago in the span of 6 days and man I wish I watched it while it aired so I could hear all the fandom theories ans stuff
Here’s one that ended up being true: I remember someone, after the season 3 intro came out with true colors, said they got non binary vibes from Terri, and I mean it kinda came true in Marcy’s journal, where Terri is referred to with they/them pronouns
Thank god this wasn't like that one gravityfalls theory video which was an hour long.
I remember everyone and their brother thought Hop Pop was gonna die. From the flashback frog Anne was supposed to disect looking like him, the Boss Mabel reskin episode where he runs off to the graveyard, the school university episode where Hop Pop imagines his death, Maddie and Marcy where they confuse him for a corpse and he shouts "I'm not dead," and overall just being an old character in a Disney show, people thought he was done for, but he managed to survive to the end of the series.
People did predict the "Polly gets her legs" reveal from the foreshadowing in Marcy at the Gates.
I remember making theories myself

I remember the Sasha loosing an eye theory very well it was probably one of the most known theories

I remember meeting people on TikTok, exchanging discord info and then making theories on there
Sadly I have no contact with them anymore since amphibia was a hyperfixation so after it ended quickly lost interest in the series itself and then they went into different fandoms but I will always treasure those happy memories of the fandom

Tho like I said I will treasure the nice memories I also have to say there was a pretty toxic side to the fanbase
I personally got told multiple times to kms because I was also in the DSMP fandom and a lot of DSMP fans got the same treatment
Especially if they were also in the amphibia fandom causing them to have contact with those people and sadly there were kids in the amphibia and dsmp fandom who did do suicide due to the constant spam of hate so that the reason that I was also happy kinda to leave the fandom
This show will always have a special place in my heart and I remember crying when it ended
After true colours me and my then best friend started dating and we both liked amphibia and talked about it
But then a lot changed
A lot changed for the negative one of those things being me and my then partner breaking up
I was I a really bad place but those 2 episodes coming out every Saturday made me smile even just a little and no matter how good or bad life was amphibia was there, it was always a source of happiness. A community I could (mostly) count on. And then after the show ended the realisation hit that all that would be gone. I remember watching that episode with my mother because I convinced her to watch all of amphibia it’s me and she just had to comfort me. But those tears were also happy tears since amphibia was the last thing that connected me with those bad memories and could finally close that chapter of my live.
This show will always be dear to me and I’m sorry if this got personal but man it’s just the memories
Who knows maybe future me will in like 4-5 years find this comment.
I am currently in the murder drones fandom and it’s similar but still very different from the amphibia fandom back then.
I guess the fun part is I never knew I would find a new hyperfixation or a new fandom like this
Now instead of looking at missas AU’s I look at the ones from Aylover
Instead of reading fanfics like “don’t drink unlabelled potions“ (which was my first ever fanfic) I read “The Burning Of A Copper Witch“

Honestly, i thought that Marcy was going to be a tomboy. Looking at her character design, from the short hair and her look when Anne steals the box.
if you ask me, to be honest, part of me, or even most likely pretty much all of me, wishes that the sacrificed limbs would have come true in order to make greater impact to the storyline, now i can imagine the what if scenario comic being animated, can you imagine it?

The theorie i remember the most is the planter parents or at least the mother is Alive and the haron attack was planned by andrias
I recall some of these specifically the Ann losing an arm theory and Sasha losing an eye. I didn't get the obsession was with characters losing a body part. I think people tend to read too much into scenes. Someone did end up losing an arm, just not the character people thought.

I remember hearing one version of the Anne losing her arm theory being Andrias would cut it off using scenes of the threat of Anne, twice I think, having her arm cut off. The instances I remember were the grubhog thing and then the scene of her first finding Domino 2 and Sprig lifting the scythe while saying they have to amputate one of Anne’s limbs. I forget if they specified which one or not.

I had this personal theory of mine that Sprig was part Newt. In hindsight, I see I was very wrong.
I had a theory for the finale.
I thought that Anne was going to kill Andrias using her calamity powers.
and then she would fight the core on the golden gate bridge .
and the castle would explode and fall into the ocean.
then the Anne would smash the helment off of marcy and the end of that theory.

I made theory a while back on why bill cipher was in the book Marcy had in true colors so basically in a gravity falls book a character said that bills world conquered/ destroyed and that bill escaped but the person who wrote the book who I think is Leif wrote about bill because she saw how dangerous he was.

When it comes to losing a body part or ability in storytelling I try to think about Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. I think about what would be taken from them by “god” in that universe if they met. It helps me not needlessly torture my characters. There’s always a reason they certain things were taken from them (teacher tried to reanimate her dead baby:gets parts of her reproductive (and other organs) taken. Roy having a dream ((vision)) of leading a better future:gets his eye sight taken.) but obviously depending on the story you can’t make it quite as brutal but it just personally helps me with my writing.
I had a theory that every main character had a frog version Marcy is Mandy anne is sprig and Sasha is grime because everyone who had a frog version had at least 1 episode where they do stuff together the side characters also appear in 1 episode but the side characters never meet so the human version would stay in their world not knowing of the alternate them in amphibia so basically everyone has a frog version of themselves

Before you guys start going on about all the proof in Marcys journal, theres such thing as friend admiration. You can love friends and it doesn't have to be romantic. My best friend is a girl (and I wanna mention that I'm a straight male. Guys and girls can be just friends too) and I love her but not romanticly. If you use Marcy calling them "her loves" near the end of the journal as evidence the I can understand that. I actually began thinking something too but then I asked my friend about it and she states some girl friend groups say stuff like that without being Romantic. So there's an explanation for that. The only piece of evidence in there that I can't explain is that fact that Marcy drew herself blushing looking at Sasha. but from what I see, Marcy seems straight. If she's not, then okay then whatever. but I don't think she has a thing for Anne or Sasha.
Besides Matt braly made this show as a series about friendship, NOT romance. Y'all can ship whoever you like but stop calling it canon because it's not and it's annoying
