With the upcoming Marcy Wu Journal releasing this November, Matt Braly recently revealed a sneak peek, showing a cryptic message that once decoded, unveils who the TRUE creator of the Calamity Box is and the truth of how Amphibia began to conquer worlds! I, myself, actually got a fan letter response from Matt Braly. I asked him several questions in the letter, one of which was "did Anne ever see the Plantars again after the hardest thing?", to which his answer was "I believe so." Maybe Valeriana was how it happened.
Did you ask about what happened with Anne was her spirit/soul transfered into a new body or wasn't it? The former sounds more efficent

I was thinking that the deity that made the Calamity box might actually be the Axolotl from Gravity falls, and it also created all the different dimensions in the multiverse, and amphibia was the first Dimension it created, which is why there's some sort of frogs in all the other dimensions, and it was Destiny written by that deity that caused Anne to find herself with descendants of leif.

I don’t think that’s the case, because of the major fact that the Leviathans basically worshipped the stones so Valeriana wouldn’t be shunned, but rather praised for making the box which could harness their capabilities. Even after the box was stolen she wouldn’t be shamed, it wasn’t her fault her own creation was stolen. So I think this is just a thing of different cultures like how you wouldn’t call white Americans and white British people the same group of people due to their different cultures.

I miss the series. Hands down one the best shows I've ever watched.
Yo! The Ghost thing was a total shock to me. Valeriana always struck me as an odd but wise side character. I definitely didn’t expect that she’d turn out to be the freaking CREATOR OF THE BOX. But, now that Matt has shared this with us, it paints Valeriana in a whole new light. It makes me want to go back and rewatch the entire series to look for other hints that might have been dropped about her role. Also, I wonder if Marcy’s journal will contain any similar pieces information about the Olms and their role in the story of Amphibia. I’d personally wonder if, perhaps, the Olms were the keepers of the stones originally, given the amount of Olm images carved into the walls of the temples and the top of Valeriana’s staff. Just a theory, but I guess we’ll just have to wait for Marcy’s Journal to release.
You might actually have a point about Val's merch being failed experiments, or prototypes! I only focused on the shield last time, but the dagger and crown also have jewels on them. It's possible she tried controlling the gems via a dagger, shield and a crown, but it only worked better when combined with the music box. Could you imagine the Calamity Gems operating through a shield, dagger or crown? You could slash portals open, blow someone away with your mind or construct mighty battlements with the shield!
I really want to know more about this guy, and am still hoping there was some way to get back to Amphibia
(Spoilers here for those who haven't watched all episodes) Also, at 5:32, it shows the artifacts of the 3 stones, and it also shows the frog on the shield reaching out to not 3, but only 2 stones. I think it could've foreshadowed that one stone was set off from the others, like Anne was when she had to save the world by herself. The frog also has an eye that looks swollen, just like Wallys, or Valeriana believed to have started all this. Also, if not for Wally, Sprig wouldn't have saved Anne, and quite a few of the scenes in the show wouldn't have happened :) Go Wally!

Smth I just noticed on the shield: The gem that's missing is Sasha's/Strength. I don't know if it's a fanon theory, canon or just my own thoughts but I'm pretty sure Leif was the previous Strength holder (Color coding reasons: Andrias was the old Heart, being blue, Barrel was green being Wit, and Leif was pink/red and therefor strength)
As we all know the box meant to be a for interdimensional travel but with the cosmic guardian telling Anne to find a replacement it's mostly a test to see who is truly the next guardian to protect the multiverse
It makes so much sense because there is at least one other spirit in the series which is from the episode Return to Wortwood when Polly and Sprig are driving another spirit appears and according to the logic of the video it becomes more logical that it will happen in Amphibia
I mean considering she was the one who knew the most about the box it makes sense she was the creator. Knowing that she is a spirit I think is sad cause she couldn’t move on for centuries.
It's kinda frogged up that the newts, frogs and toads used to have KINGDOMS, but after unification, the newts were on top hierarchaly, with their long line of kings. Society, man...
Well, the newts are highly intelligent, so they know how to use the box for engineering purpose, and makes frobots, electronic, etc, all frogs and toads are interested and joined the newt's kingdom, and newtopia became a kingdom for all newt frog and toad, until after the Core and the king
In an alternate universe, a policeman calls Anne's mother because they inform her that her daughter stole a box, she takes the box from her and meets with Marcy and Sasha's mothers to talk about their daughter, then Mrs. Boonchuy opens the box and all 3 mothers appear on Amphibia
So the stones sent to Amphibia were meant to see how the different species of Amphibia would deal with unlimited power, with each going to a respective species who likely built the temples to house and protect them, then Valeriana united the stones in the Calamity Box as a way to unite the different species which then led to the Leviathan reign and Amphibia's conquest of other worlds.
It's interesting how the 3 Stones Deity is "the cosmic guardian who has watched over countless worlds for countless eons" and created the stones to see how mortals would handle unlimited power, yet they only made stones for Amphibia, unless that means there are identical sets of stones out there in other worlds.
Maybe the Guardian intended to send other identical sets of stones to other worlds, with Amphibia just being the first, but after seeing what happened there they decided not to make any more. I may just be thinking too far into this, but there are still parts of the lore I'm still trying to wrap my head around. Hopefully it'll be clarified more in Marcy's Journal.

I literally just binge watched Amphibia for the third time and finished it earlier tonight and I’m still scraping the tears out of my eyes just to see this

If there is a movie (which I really hope there will be) maybe we can more into depth about how Valeriana's past of how she made the box, if this theory is right.
This actually opens up a new realm of possible theories within the Journal
I've long suspected that the Calamity Box was created by the founder of Valeriana's order, but the reveal that Valeriana IS that founder actually explains a lot about her abilities that were never explained.
The way she was able to not just psychically know everything Anne has done while in Amphibia but even what she did on Earth right before stealing the Calamity Box implies she can see everything that happens within a certain range of the box's vicinity regardless of where it actually is, and the fact that she's actually a spirit basically makes her like an honorary demigod that is tied to the stones.
It still leaves some unanswered questions like why there's a frog emblazoned on the box's lid instead of a newt, why nothing about Valeriana herself has a musical theme when the box functions with music, and why the trials were designed the remove the stones' power from their chosen heroes if doing so would break the olm prophecy. It was also implied in Season 3 that the olms were the orginal discoverers of the stones in Amphibia so how the stones ended up in the possession of frogs, newts, and toads with olms not involved is still unanswered, as well as why Valeriana's staff has an olm design if olms were not a part of her order as far as we know.
The temples don’t break the prophecy, right?
The prophecy was that they had the choice.
Maybe Valeriana can forge a new Calamity box to help Sprig get back to Earth and see Anne again, provided they were able to contact the deity and ask it to make new stones.
I think Valeriana is good and doesn’t want to make more boxes cause of what happened last time💀 she’s moved on and has no reason to come back.
I think the Deity is keeping tabs on the Calamity Girls lives.

@@Supasmartguy just cause amphibia has changed doesn’t mean that everyone is good and that no one wouldn’t take advantage of the box again that’s silly logic. Also the message of the finale was that just because they aren’t together doesn’t mean they aren’t friends anymore. Yes it would be a nice reunion but there’s no more need to continue the story just let it rest already.
@@Ghostface1998 the new box would be given to anne, and she already proved that she's worthy of those powers to the deity, also, read my other comments on this video. One of them contains irrefutable proof that you are wrong.

What really confused me about Valeriana was...why would she say NONE are worthy of the Music Box; more specifically, Anne and her group when they met her.
Sure, Anne and Marcy had issues that needed to be worked out but what about the Plantars

@@bengilhooly3616 maybe it will reveal that the deity eventually did contact them and give them new stones, because, upon rewatching that 10-year Flash Forward at the end of the series finale, I noticed what might be a smoking gun: it's never actually outright stated nor 100% confirmed in that Flash Forward that they had not yet made it back to amphibia.

@@bengilhooly3616 I was thinking something similar. Amphibia should have stood itself out from the crowd, the whole "they can't see each other" Trope was in ET, Monsters inc, and Twilight Princess just to name a few.

This video is very informative about Amphibia's history, and it does make sense for Valeriana to be the one who made the calamity box.
I wasn't expecting it, but not surprised either. She always had an air of mystery about he and this does explain a bit how she would just kind of show up at random times.
I hope we can get some important lore surrounding the core since as is the core is a fairly weak antagonist in terms of amphibia's story. Thematically the core works since you can interpret it as marcy spiraling after the events of true colors but the core needs more lore behind it. Like How does one upload a mind to the core, Darcy's helmet is new according to Olivia and yunnan since andrias states that it is untested. How exactly did the mossman and shadowfish help them conquer death or how did the core have a ton of space bugs in the moon? were they the bodies of the newts that joined the core or were they actual bugs.
Its pretty likely we will get no to very little info about the core, and if we do, I believe it will be from marcys perspective after the events of the series, reflecting on her journey.
@@giddyspiderboy well you got to keep in mind marcy was in the core for some time so if she gained insight into how the core was a sore loser maybe she knows more info of the core when she was darcy

5:52 i think that those other implements were used to go to different worlds, each item fashioned for a specific world, the music box made for Earth. These ones are no longer working because there is nothing left of the worlds they link to.
Valeriana is pretty much like Auron of "Final Fantasy X" an "Unsent". A soul manifested in the physical plane and unable to rest.
I like many others(you to) really hope there's a way to get a movie,another season or heck a spin off (which is something I want to see)of amphibia I hope that there's room for one of those things

Honestly, I was working under the assumption that she made the Box, I don't know why but ever since she was introduced my brain was like "oh so that's who made it"
You know last before going bed I was thinking about Amphibia lore and what we know and what we don't know about it. And while thinking it clicked that two major things we don't know about Amphibia lore and which one them being who is Valeriena and who made the music box. And this videos theory kinda works as an answer to what I was wondering.

Eh I think Ghosts in the Amphibia Universe can remain tangible.
I always thought that it was either the group Valeriana claimed to be a part of that were the ones who created the box, or it was Andrias' ancestors. Legacy and obligation to their territory and nature seemed to be something important to the higher class Newts like Andrias and Lady Olivia. They also seemed smarter than many of the already intelligent newts. It wouldn't have surprised me if there were scholars among the Leviathan bloodline who made breakthroughs with understanding the Calamity Gems much like how the human scientists figured out how to make a portal without even having access to the gems. I figured if humans could figure it out with a couple of months of research; the royalty of Newtopia would've put that together too. Additionally; only the royals or those under their direct service (IE: the 3 strategists) seemed to have any access to books and documents pertaining to the box or gems; wouldn't shock me if they had those because a member of the royal family or their counselors and agents had created the box.
That said; the order being behind it would've made sense to given how they were the ones who actually would've understood how the gems actually worked instead of just what they could do with the power gained from its use. Andrias knew that there was a way to get the power of the gems back into the box; but that doesn't necessarily mean he knew the exact means or where that needed to go down. For all we currently know, the temples could've have always been there because the temples could've sprung from the ground wherever the gems first appeared when The Guardian sent them to Amphibia. None of the temples looked like they'd seen many guests; hell 2 of them were in areas downright hazardous to amphibians with the cold of temple 2 and the volcanic heat of temple 3.
What's immediately interesting to me is that Valeriana achieved a form of immortality outside of the Core. Not only that, but she's tied to the second temple--the temple of the heart--not the newts' own temple of the mind. Ideologically, this is significant because it implies a level of oneness with everything that the groupthink of the Core strived for and failed at. The Core incorporated each new mind added to it by consuming their processing power for the singleminded goal of perpetuating Amphibia's conquest of other worlds; it was a side effect of the procedure. Was Valeriana's goal of destroying the box part of how she achieved immortality, or was it just the last task before she attained true rest? (i.e. was the immortality a side effect of her goal to realize the prophecy & destroy the box, or was that desire the reason she remained on the mortal plane?)
Knowing this, I wonder if valeriana was inspired by King roahm's ghost from The Legend of Zelda breath of the wild.
