Me: *S l a p s* the skip button.
Haha you're such a funny and quirky memer...
Davie would be proud.

I've played piano for 7 years and I'm getting bored. And since I'm already a sucker for a good bassline I think this would be awesome. Although anything with strings intimidates me.
Don't be, there's not reason to be, I've playing guittar since I was 15, and I learn to lose my demonds about the strings, without any warning you will be happy to learn but you need to practice every single day, and you also play the piano so is waaay too easy for you even, cuz your fingers are already prepare :)
Well a piano has strings
Hilarious considering a piano is a string instrument 😂
@@xBioSaturn Yes, technically, it is. However, playing keys is a very different sensation from fingering a neckline and and bowing/plucking strings to produce sound. Nobody likes a smartass.
egg slicer?
you are the most amazing individual. I just got my bass last night and your playlist for beginners is the most helpful one I have found It is so concise and easy to understand.
Thanks Michaela, make sure you keep going on your musical journey!
Even though I have been playing for several years, I plan to watch all your bass lessons starting with this one. I am certain to learn new things as I do and fill in the missing pieces of my bass playing knowledge. Your lessons are clear, concise, and easy to follow. I like that. Thanks.
This is great. I don't have a bass but i'm getting an Ibanez starter pack for Christmas. It really helps to know the basic parts right now though.
your style and explanation of the subjects (in all the videos) is perfect - you have cleared up lots of confusion for me - you have become my on-line teacher
-I am not trying to learn to look cool or become a rock god - but I want to learn to play with a well thought out foundation
Thank you for putting together a fabulous set of videos
This is an excellent introduction to the bass guitar. Exactly what I needed.
brilliant explanations. Also great for non-native speakers, because of the clear language and because you point to what you mean. simply excellent!
I'm a complete beginner with the bass, and I'm really enjoying your content! I have about 12 years to go before I retire from the day job and would love to have acquired a bit of mastery by then!
Best bass lessons on UA-cam, thank you from Italy
I'm primarily a guitar player but I just bought my first bass as my from me to me 40th birthday gift. I can't wait to dive into this!
My wife and youngest daughter just bought me a Guild Jumbo Junior acoustic bass. Gonna learn the bass. I'm only 70.
Thanks Richie, hopefully not over my head but wanting to learn bass at 55, never played an instrument before but love music
Don't get me wrong here, this guy is a bass teaching wizard... But people need to realize that most bass beginners start off with a 4 string bass, not a 5 string bass. So teaching with 5 string will only confuse them.
he changes to 4 strings in the later videos when he actually starts teaching you how to play and not just describing the guitar
thanks man i appreciate it!.
metalmoshingmad777 Agreed this bass lesson 1 & he shows a 5 string Why oh why.
I started off with a 5 string bass 😞
@@user-mh1jz4yp7e I bought a 5 string by accident, I was thinking to return it but the Sweetwater rep suggested keeping it for more options going forward. Guess I will grow into it ?
This and the bass buzz channel are really helpful
Thank you for the video, really helpful! Just picked up the bass, its gonna be great!
I'm planning to purchase a bass & amplifier sometime in the near future. very much enjoyed this video very relaxing very interesting.

+MusicCollegeTV Hi, what about 5 string basses? Do you have lessons for 5 string bases? Thanks.
Krešimir Hruškovec
I just bought a bass for myself. I'm a guitarist but I really love playing the bass, so now I'm going to learn to do it well enough!
Very helpful, I have just picked up a 5-string bass guitar today and am now starting my journey on learning this fine instrument, very excited for the road ahead, and the doors that will be opened for me upon ability to play a musical instrument. Music is a true blessing on this earth, and I aspire to use my musical ability once it is established to serve in the ministry, good luck to everyone else beginning their music journey today and God bless everyone.
Well done for taking the 1st step Tiffany - Here's to a long a fruitful journey!

I like these videos. They are simple and cover the basics; the instructor is alright.
My mom just bought me an early Christmas present today. She got me a Deans09 34" 4-string bass guitar. She knows how obsessed I am with Flea, Les Claypool, and Matt Freeman and how Ive always wanted one. I'm so excited because I'm 15 and Flea and Les didn't learn how to play until they were 16.
I'm trying to learn because mainly because of flea too. You should check out his flea bass tutorial it's very helpful.
joe mama Oh believe me, I've watched it almost half a dozen times. Its great!
+EPL Hey man, more power to you! Feed off of that initial excitement and keep on playing and practicing! The bass is an awesome instrument, one I'm still trying to figure out myself. Here's to hoping that one day you'll rock the bass so well that Geddy Lee raises an eyebrow! Cheers!
I LIKE THIS DUDE!

Hoping to pick up a bass at 13, I just really want to be good at multiple instruments (I already can play drums to an extent). Really hope I can get the hang of this before school picks up again!
Nice lesson Richie.
I'm 17, grew up from a family of musicians, have a bass lyin around and it's my first time to actually pick it up. Hope i can grow playing bass with you teaching me. 🙌
I was wondering.. did you learned bass through him, or somewhere else?
@@user-io3ci7rb8s halo, actually i learned the basics from him, you know the strings tunes this and that. but the best way to learn an instrument faster (for me) is to play advanced. like play songs, i have learned various of songs from tutorials from youtube, i don't really know the chords so i just familiarize myself with the number tabs XDD and when i watch people play bass, i imitate their hand gestures, watch which string they're pressing and plucking. i learned bass after a week that month, you could too. but it could be different for you. Good luck! ❤️(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
@@XiaoSunJingThank you! :)
EXCELLENT!!!
Very nice. Thank you
Just starting out. Hope to be at least half as good as Les Claypool some day!

2 - 3 weeks from now I'll have my first bass, I can't fucking wait
What about acoustic bass ? It's useless for this lesson or can work either ?
I'm 14, and I really want to pick up the bass. My inspiration has been listening to Tool, and I've been saving my money but I don't know what a good beginner bass guitar would be. Any suggestions would be phenomenal.
