I’ve always admired Adam Sandler’s dedication to the role he played in this movie. At the beginning, he showed up looking like he usually did in his movies. By the time the football playing started happening, he was in shape and looking like a football player.
I remember seeing an interview from him saying they wanted the football to look real, so he had to really learn how to throw the ball correctly. The guy that carried "he shit himself" off on the stretcher was also the "football continuity" coach for the film. He made the actors look like real players. You can also spot him in The Replacements movie as one of the football coaches. "That one girl just slapped the other girl right on the ass!! "Make her stop shaking her ass for one minute"!!!
A serious Sandler role and an absolute intense movie = "Uncut Gems"
Sandler has alot of good movies , i don't know why he gets so much hate , i mean they are not oscar's worthy but im always having a good time with Sandler movies
also Hustle, that one is full of NBA cameos
Reign over me is a good one too
Punch-Drunk Love is one of my favorite Sandler roles and my second favorite PT Anderson
That movie gave me an anxiety attack. 😮
Burt was a QB that played for the FSU seminoles and that’s why Adams character played for FSU in this remake. Great movie with great company.
@@ckobo84 He played HB by
Hey fam I like the original one as well
This movie stunk.
Reynolds was a RB in college. Still, if you play football at any high level, you probably know how to throw the ball.
Reynolds actually played the character of Crewe in the original
There are several wrestlers in this film. On the Guards team you have Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kevin Nash aka Diesel (The one who ate the Estrogen). On the Cons team you have Bill Goldberg, and The Great Kali (Sasquatch). You also have Bob Sapp who is a professional MMA fighter on the Cons team (teddy Bear guy).
Also for the guards you had Bill Romanowski, probably one of the dirtiest players in the history of the NFL, as well as Brian Bozworth, aka The Boz.
Also there is Chris Rock Nelly Joe Diaz and bunch of other well known folks
Goldberg the wrestler. Also played football at Georgia with herchell walker and a friend of mine.😊
@@EOMReeacts dude bob sapp was bad as professional yes, it he was fighting in professional leagues. Dude actually combined wwe stuff with mma. He was playing a character (a heel) in Japan and he was big there even though losing the fights a lot but he was entertaining the crowd, playing big angry dude, some sort of hulk. I actually respect the guy. He knew exactly what he was doing, made a lot of money basically being a fake wwe type of character in actual mma
Michael Irving was Deacon Moss
That wasn't Pussy from the Sopranos. It was a stand up comedian named Joey Diaz. I'd love to hear your reaction to his comedy😂
Uncle Joey
Yep, back when this was new I thought it was big P but I also hadn't heard if Joey Diaz back then
Hope they do we need more Uncle Joey reactions 🤣 could sit and listen to the man’s stories all day
Gotta love Uncle Joey! JRE 1000 with him and Tom Segura has to be one of the best podcasts EVER
UNC
Burt Reynolds took the actual hit. They had a stunt double but he said he had one more run in him. Brian Bosworth (who hit him) said he loved it cause how many people can say they were run over by Burt Reynolds. They had to help Burt off the field and they put it in the movie.
Cloris Leachman 🙌. And a whole bunch of great comedians, musicians, athletes and actors. Very impressive casting
I loved that lady. She was so much fun. Rest in peace to her and burt
Burt Reynolds played Paul Crewe in the original Longest Yard film from 1974.
Rob Schneider actually wasn't supposed to be in this movie. He and Adam Sandler were like best friends. He stopped by the set to say hi to Adam, and chat, and Adam talked Rob into doing the "You can do it!" Waterboy line while he was there.
Sandler actually showed some serious acting chops in Punch-Drunk Love, Reign Over Me, Uncut Gems and Hustle, along with a few others. I thought he was good in 50 First Dates as well.
I’m a lifelong New Yorker, but saw this movie in theaters in South Carolina, and somehow that feels more fitting.
Liked the longest yard, loved the replacements.
They need to watch the replacements too.
The big guy who was in the hole. Playing ping pong is "the great khali" also a professional wrestler
The list of famous people in this movie is impressive! Steve Austin, Michael Irving, Bill Goldberg, Brian Bosworth, Kevin Nash, Terry Crews and the list goes on and on!! 😂🤣
Why does everyone forget Nelly 😂😂😂
@@DannyBedo
Who? 😂
Nelly, Michael Irvin, Bill Romonowski, Joey Diaz, Tracy Morgan, Kevin Nash, Burt Reynolds, Bob Sapp
And WWE Star The Great Khali!
@@DannyBedocause he ain't been shit for a long time ,plus ain't he trying to look like Pac.
“THATS HOW A WHITE MAN RUNS THE FOOTBALL” always made me laugh LMAOOO😭😭💀
And said nonetheless by Stone Cold Steve Austin
Every time i hear, Mississippi Queen, I say "That's how a white man plays guitar "
Everytime Christian McCaffery gets a touchdown or first down I say that 😂
Oh man… For the life of me, I will NEVER forget the classic “I THINK I MADE HIM SHIT HIMSELF!!” moment late in the game 😂😂😂😂
Giiivvvvee me a D! Give me an I! Lmao always a funny ass part 😂
In the original he breaks the dude's neck. Always thought this version was funnier 😄
@@midnightlibrarian … Me too 👍😆. I’ve seen the original, with Burt playing the role of Paul Crewe, but actually enjoyed this version, especially seeing the huge Kevin Nash turn into a complete sissy during the game & try arguing with Stone Cold Steve Austin 🤣🤣🤣
It's a crappy rip off of the original.
@@midnightlibrarian100% better.
The warden was the same prison warden in The Green Mile , who's wife had the brain tumor that John Coffey healed.❤❤. I swear I can't remember his real life name, but he's been a great actor and had a very long career!
James Cromwell. Way, way back, he was also on All In the Family. He played Stretch Cunningham, Archie's loading dock buddy.
@@tinastar1972He was in Species 2, a horror movie and he was so cool as farmer Hogget in Babe. I also liked his dubbing in Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron as the Colonel.
Check him out in L.A. Confidential too!
@@VBSuper definitely a prolific character actor, he always gives a stellar performance.
@@Divamarja_CA one of my favorites, I had a huge crush on Bud! 🙂
The replacements with Keanu Reeves is awesome also. So funny😅
Yes that’s my favorite sports movie
Love that movie! One of my favorites!!
When they were making the Replacements, they practiced the football scenes at my high school, Glen Burnie High School. The game scenes were shot at Baltimore Ravens stadium.
This is a remake of a 1974 film, titled the longest yard. The main character is Burt Reynolds in the 74 version.
I actually liked this remake. Seeing all the wrestlers snd and other pro athletes was cool af. Great cast too. I remember seeing an interview years ago where Austin was not happy about saying “the word” and I don’t blame him. He coughed it up to the necessity of the storyline to show how bad that the guardsmen actually were. But the cast in this movie is insane. From Mike Irvin to Bill Goldberg to Burt Reynolds. And Tracy Morgan was a hoot and a half.
This is a great movie full of superstars! There is also a British version of the film called 'Mean Machine ' starring Vinny Jones but it features European soccer.
The huge guy in the cell is a WWE wrestler called The Great Khali. There are some other big names from the wrestling world, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Goldberg & Kevin Nash.
You're going to love this movie, Adam Sandler flicks are great!
Correct. Also the huge black guy is Bob Sapp and he was also a pro wrestler (mostly in Japan where he was a megastar. WWE wanted to sign him at times but he was making so much money in Japan he'd would've had to take a paycut to leave) & MMA fighter where his fights against likes of ex Sumo wrestler Akebono drew 54 million viewers on TV.
Watching Asia expressions, when those dudes was cheering routine. Too funny 😂❤
Great reaction video. I liked this version as well. Great cast. Adam Sandler played the part of Burt Reynolds character in the original longest yard film.
He was the lead, but Burt was still in his original role from the first movie, serving his extra time.
yeah this was just a fun movie all around. the cast is absolutely nuts, and the choreography of the actual games and practice were run by professional football players so that they knew what it really looked like. there's some fun behind-the-scenes about this one, and waterboy as well, with the filming of the games.
@@bigb2494No Burt played Paul Crewe in the 1974 film.
Maybe 🤔 Burt came back as the character from the first film. However, in the first film, Burt went to get the game ball at the end of the movie same as Adam did and they were going to shoot him only to say Game Ball. To me Adam was playing the original Burt Reynolds role.
@@bigb2494Sorry but the late great Burt Reynolds played Paul Crewe in the 1974 original and Michael Conrad played Nate Scarboro.
i dont care what anyone says this is one of the most underrated movies of all time.
"Will you teach me to football?"
"Sure, I'll teach you to football."
"I'll teach you anything. Just don't eat me."
Fun Fact: Five of the six members of the rap group D12 made cameo appearances as convicts playing basketball. The missing sixth member is Eminem/Slim Shady.
Location Location Fact: The movie was filmed in "Old Main" a closed down part of the New Mexico State Penitentary. It was this part of the prison where one of the worst prison riots in U.S. history occurred on February 2, 1980. The state offers the building for rent for film purposes.
Action Star Fact: Burt Reynolds was supposed to have a stunt double for when he got hit by Brian Bosworth on a touchdown run, but Reynolds insisted on doing it himself. Bosworth himself was honored by the whole situation. Reynolds went through the hit in one take with no injuries, though he had to be helped off the field. The shots used in the movie of him being helped off of the field were not staged.
"Use your words" 😂😂😂 you're killing me miss Asia😂😂
That’s exactly how Bill Romanowski played.
Oh. I wish you saw the original first. So many things that were throwbacks and some changes too (They were fun). The first one had comedy, but it was more serious. Burt Reynolds was the QB in that one. Soooo good! Great reaction . . . as usual.
The lightbulb fakeout especially. You think since the bulb didn't explode maybe the script changed and caretaker lives.
BJ, Asia, that huge ping pong playing guy was a wrestler too. He was known as The Great Khali in WWE & was a one time World Champion. There's a lot of ex-wrestlers in this. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kevin Nash, Goldberg, Glacier & The Great Khali.. Then you got ex football stars like Irvin & Bill Romanowski & guys from the music industry like Nelly & the guys from D-12..
Grandma’s Boy is on Hulu now, it’s must see IMO
Ehhh, it’s ok. Cult classic. It’s like Happy Madison b-team.
Yes deffinitly !!!
You never throw a bong kid
"Alex, you forgot smoking lamp". (Breaks) "I'm sorry, was that expensive piece"?
"That's your fault too". 🤣🤣
A MUST see. Ya'll would LOVE that movie. It's one of my favorites..
Adam Sandler serious roles: Spanglish and Uncut Gems stands out. The Cobbler and Punch-Drunk-Love also are kinda serious.
For me, this was funny, but 1974' Burt Reynold's "Longest Yard", was a classic.....
Yeah, the original is a classic and maybe Reynolds' best film but this remake is solid.
I would love to see a reaction to the original. Burt was just amazing there. Great cast all around. Adam's remake is a fun movie to watch. But the original will always be #1 in my book. Burt was on top of his game at the time. Maybe after that a reaction to "Deliverance". Two of Burts best. And for dessert "Smokey and the Bandit". Sidenote: The soccer/football version/remake from 2001 "Mean Machine" was actually a pleasant surprise when I watched it. Didn't expect to like it as much as I did. A fun cast as well with Vinnie Jones, Jason Statham, Danny Dyer, Jason Flemyng and John Forgeham.
Oh, definitely need to watch ...Remember the Titans..with Denzel Washington. Based on a true story. And...A League of Their Own...with Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnel and Gina Davis to name a few. Also based on a true story in history . Two great sports movies. You and your subscribers will love it.
Glory Road too 😊
This is one of my all-time favorite movies.❤
"Uncut Gems". A great movie with a different character type by Sandler.
Lol the guy from the sopranos, yes that's Joey Diaz, his stand up is hilarious, he has the BEST stories, you guys should react to Joey Diaz sleeps with one legged woman, the dirtiest funniest thing I've heard in a LONG time lol.
Joey Diaz is a beast
@@chazvasquez2901 he's like the uncle everyone wishes they had
I’m so glad y’all reacted to this movie! It’s one of my favorites! Thank you!
Yes, Adam Sandler had a couple of serious films just like Jim Carey did. Like Spanglish, Reign Over Me, & Uncut Gems.
theres so many athletes and celebrities in this movie! 4 WWE wrestlers in this movie, comedians, rappers, actors, ex football players and a boxer! star packed movie
My favorite reaction channel!
It’s not Big P*$$¥, it’s Joey Coco Diaz but people do confuse them. However, Coco is on the Sopranos prequel.
As much as I enjoy watching this version, and I have watched it many times, the 1974 original is dearer to my heart. Adam Sandler proves he has the acting chops to do more than comedy. A great bow to the original.
Adam Sandler serious roles: UNCUT GEMS, PUNCH DRUNK LOVE and HUSTLE. He did a good job.
Another serious Sandler movie: "Reign Over Me" - Sandler and Cheadle were outstanding in their roles.
Hustle was much better than I expected. I expected it to be an alright movie, but it is great.
And the movie funny people
@hayleyfigueroa that is both my favorite Sandler, and Apatow film.
@@hayleyfigueroayes I think Funny People is a serious role as well. It’s obviously got comedy, but the main story line is very serious. It was a great movie to me.
They used many wrestlers in this movie. Stone Cold Steve Austin (guard), Kevin Nash (the estrogen guy🤣) Bill Goldberg (convict) and The Great Khali (the really big convict😁) Stone cold is in Grown Ups with Adam Sandler and Kevin Nash is in Grandma's Boy, which is an Adam Sandler movie but he's actually not in it. Grandma's Boy is probably the funniest Sandler movie I've ever seen. Y'all should do a reaction to that one. But be warned, it's raunchy af🤣. Great reaction y'all, keep em coming.
Kevin Nash was in Magic Mike, the artist.
Just noticed that Burt Reynolds plays a former Sooner in this and the last play to tie, the guard who hits him, number 44, is played by Brian Bosworth, a renowned former OU Sooner player who wore 44
You were right, this movie was jam- packed with pro wrestlers, including Bill Goldberg, Kevin Nash (the guard who ended up on estrogen pills), and The Great Khali, plus the one you recognized. Plus so many athletes, comedians, and great actors.
Other football movies you might like are The Replacements, Necessary Roughness, and The Waterboy.
Bill Goldberg, or just Goldberg (as known in WCW and WWE) on Team Crew, actually played football in college and 5 years in the pros.
I recommend Reign Over Me with Sandler and Don Cheadle. Saw that movie about a year after it came out. That movie is very dramatic, but masterfully well-done. This is when I knew Sandler can really do drama.
Now that you both have seen this football movie, I wonder how y'all would react to The Replacements with Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman.
Steve Austin, Kevin Nash, The Great Khali, JTG, Goldberg are WWE stars
I really do enjoy the original version of this film so if you ever get a chance to watch it I would it's definitely more of a drama with little bits of comedy sprinkled in. As far as Adam Sandler yes he is for the most part of comedic actor but there are some phenomenal films that he's done where his character is completely straightforward. Uncut gems The Hustler are more recent films but one of my favorites is a movie called reign over me. You will completely tear up
The big guy from Kansas City “Big Tony” (big belly guy who always wants a Diet Coke) is legendary comedian Joey Diaz.
Side note: he actually did spend time in prison in his earlier life.
OMG this movie is one of my favorite comedies 😂
Not really a sports movie but Michael Irving in it was everything he was good too in the movie
He had some great serious roles
A classic I enjoy is "The Program" from back in the early 90s
This is one of my favorite movies growing up..... So many stars in this
Burt R. In Smokey And The Bandit Is Must See😊
A lot of the guards and inmates were real nfl players and wwe wrestlers . Nelly was the only music artist . Sorry for second comment . Im watching the reaction still . On the game part. Where Asia asked if they wrestlers. The biggest guy was the Great Khali he from India if im not mistaken
The list of stars they assembled for this movie was off the charts!
Rob Schneider from the bleachers, slips in his "You can do it!" (Like Arnold Schwarzenegger's "I'll be back")
Great reaction.
This was a great remake, that has an all star cast of professional athletes.
Chris Berman's tag line was " He may go all the way"
The Native American who played Baby Face played Shep Proudfoot in the movie Fargo.
The actor who played the warden was also the warden in The Green Mile.
Two GREAT serious roles for Adam Sandler: "Reign Over Me" with Don Cheadle, and "Uncut Gems"
Love this movie. And the Baseball movie with Kevin Costner is “For Love of the Game”. And I love that movie too.
This is a awesome movie, I love sports movies! Thank you, Asia and Bj.
There were 4 professional wrestlers in this movie. Two Guards, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Kevin Nash, the one who was crying because they switched his steroids with estrogen. Two cons, Bill Goldberg and Dalip "The Great Khali" Singh Rana, the super tall guy.
I can't believe you've gone this long without watching "There's Something About Mary". Also, check out "Better Off Dead" starring John Cusack.
Y’all should do The Sandlot and Remember the Titans. Both good sport movies
If you want some good sports movies to watch, Moneyball is a good one for baseball. A good football movie to watch is draft day with Kevin Costner. I enjoy these reactions and I've been watching since I'm still Asia
Omg loved your reactions. Especially BJ, he was acting like he was watching a real game.
The biggest convict, the Arabic looking guy. Saw him in a interview back when this movie came out in 2005 and the guy said he ate 17 whole chickens everyday for protein before he working out. 😮
Brian Bozworth ," The Boz" and now the sherriff in Pepper Town , Dr pepper commercials...was a guard. Even though Barry Sanders broke his ankles in the NFL. Oklahoma loves the Boz! ..and Barry, we love you too !! ❤
Boomer Sooner!!!!
Watched this on bootleg back in the day lmaoooo. Good times y'all. Good reaction 🖤
The BEST ADAM SADLER movie!
This is a remake of the previous The Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds. Now if I remember correctly, one of the golfers was either the original Captain Knauer from the original movie. There's not just WWE wrestlers and football players in this movie but also a professional golfer, Phil Mickelson. Now some of the wrestlers were also professional football players at some point in their careers as well. Now as far as the wrestlers that I can remember that are in this movie are Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kevin Nash, Goldberg, and The Great Kahli. Now for the longest time I thought Michael Irving was Lawrence Taylor since they both played for the NY Giants. Also, Terry Crews had played football at one point in his life also. There's also a couple of action stars I hadn't seen since the 90's in this movie playing the guards.
Adam has actually done multiple serious roles. My personal favorite is “reign over me.”
I love this movie.
Y'all Need To Watch Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2
25:13 I love this track 😍😍😍😍
I haven't seen the original in a long time but this remake was hilarious. Love yall reaction..yall remember Water boy was sports related.
It’s rare when a remake is good . Two thumbs up for this one 👍👍
😂🤣😂
Asia: 'the one with the baseball...'
BJ: 😐
Liked both versions but prefer the original version a bit more!
Haha! "He's on the juice" That is Bob Sapp. One giant dude.
Burt was Paul Crewe, in original, both movies are terrific!
Seeing this in the theaters was awesome, Burt Reynolds finally got a Taurus Award after this movie because of him doing his own stunts. This was a great remake
Love this movie
Hi Asia & BJ!😊 You guys should really watch the original "The Longest Yard" (1974) with Burt Reynolds which is considered superior to this film.😉
Goldberg and Terry crews were actually in the NFL. I wonder if they picked wrestlers with football background because they would be huge and someone who isn't afraid of remembering lines... then again the great khali is in there.
Random fact: the actor who played Al Bundy was also in the NFL and is a multiple degree Gracie jiu jitsu blackbelt.
Original one was great too. Great reaction
2:31 Adam has done a non-comedy, as well as a funny but meaningful movie. The non-comedy is “Uncut Gems,” (I’d recommend it to anyone), and the funny-ish meaningful movie (similar to Will Ferrel’s “Stranger Than Fiction,” even also having Dustin Hoffman as an important character) is “The Cobbler” (which I’d also recommend to anyone).
I saw this film in the theater. It was a very good experience. Great reaction! 👍🏿
I loved the original, and I love this remake!❤ I was so happy see Burt Reynolds as the coach in this one. Soooo many big time athletes were in this one, from MMA to Pro Wrestling, and the comedians really did an awesome job of making this hilarious!
Another celebrity in the movie that people forget about was Courtney Cox. I don't even think she was in the credits lol.
My favorite Adam Sandler movie Reign Over Me. His best movie was serious
I LOVE that you guys knew everybody and knew football too. It made it so much better. ❤
Major League would be another good sports movie for you to react to.
Major League is just a really solid movie all around. Charlie Sheen and Wesley Snipes. Not too many reactions on here for that movie.
We have the British version of this movie too which is pretty good.. it’s staring Vinnie Jones and it’s called the mean machine. The really big guy was a WWE wrestler. The great Khali. He towered above even the biggest wrestlers in the game..absolutely huge!
Really enjoy your reactions.
43:56 hahah that dude has been smokin the entire game.... he burned the guard with his cigarette so he would let go of the ball 😂
Here’s a gem: Nelly and his group St. Lunatics did the film soundtrack.
The warden was also the warden in The Green Mile, James Cromwell
Burt Reynolds was the main character (quarterback) in the original movie.
