    Fun Fact: This film is the highest-grossing sports comedy of all time, while another Adam Sandler vehicle, The Longest Yard (2005), is the second highest-grossing sports comedy of all time.
    Also, Kathy Bates was convinced to take the role of Helen "Mama" Boucher by her niece, a longtime fan of Adam Sandler.

    The coach of Waterboy is played by Henry Wrinkler. He was in a popular sitcom in the mid 70s tthru the 80s called Happy Days. He played the Fonz who would get all the prettiest girls. He would also start a jukebox by pounding lightly on it. The show in a promotional episode to keep it running had the Fonz (Wrinkler) on skis dragged by a boat so he could jump using a ramp over a shark. That's where the phrase "Jumping the shark" came from when something's going to be a failure.

    • @LordVolkov
      @LordVolkov 11 місяців тому +6

    I like how they made sure that the football was hard-hitting, because it adds to the authenticity of the movie, even though it's an off-the-wall comedy. Genius comedy from Adam Sandler. There is a running gag you'll notice... Rob Schneider, the man in the crowd, has uttered the line "You can do it!" as a running gag in Sandler's films The Waterboy, Little Nicky, 50 First Dates, The Longest Yard, and Bedtime Stories, as well as in a deleted scene from Click (a sample of Schneider saying the phrase also turns up in the song "Original Prankster" by The Offspring). Returning the favor, Sandler appeared in a cameo to spout the same line in Schneider's The Animal.

    He's one of the best guitar players you'll ever see. One of his popular songs is "Amos Moses". He was also in a classic movie with Burt Reynolds called "Smokey and the Bandit".

    I loooove this movie. Some Adam Sandler movies are just so damn entertaining. This one, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore...they're just so entertaining. I had a feeling you'd enjoy this one because it's silly with a ton of random jokes, but it also has a lot of heart to it.

    yeah the best thing about this movie is Vickie being absolutely Ride or Die, so like her being strong enough to stand up to mama, accepting him completely, holding him down all the way, that was exactly what Bobby needed from her in order to succeed. it makes you want to find that person that fits in your life like that, that will sit there and eat your mama's nasty ass grill alligator babies head first and won't give up on you for anything.
