    try adding a tiny dot of red to your greens. it’ll calm the green down so it’s less saturated and it should work better for skin tones that way. 😊

    Inks are notorious for coming off like on your nighthaunt. You need to use the ink and then cover with a varnish. This keeps the ink in place and gives you the base to work over it.
    Try mixing the green ink with a touch of the yellow to highlight the ork skin.👍

      @johnosminis  Рік тому +1

      Yeah idk I’ve heard mixed things about the ink through the airbrush! It’s just trial and error for me atm as I love the colour!!
      And I was playing around back and forth with the colours for the ork skin but couldn’t see to quite get it. Better luck next time! Haha. Thanks for the advice none the less

      @@johnosminis using inks for priming and adding accents is a great method. They work especially well i found when added to a colour to increase the vibrancy or pop. A bit like florescent paints do. Keep trying different methods and find what works for you.always the best way!👍😎 look forward to hearing how you fair out.

    Great video again! For Ork skin, I tried a few methods but found basecoating deep orange/yellow and then green wash/shade worked best!

    I had the same reactivation problem, where white liquitex ink would reactivate even the primer (AK interactive black). From my experiments the problem lies when thinning the Inks with acrylic thinner, this would cause the Inks to reactivate previous layers, when airbrushing the Inks without any thinner (not even water) and allowing the previous layer to fully dry I did not get the reactivation problem. For reference I was using hataka acrylic thinner, which smells like alcohol and soap.
    Later I tried thinning the Inks with a little bit of water and waiting more than you would with normal paints and had no problem.

      @johnosminis  Рік тому

      Fantastic! That would explain the problem then, I’ll try this tomorrow and see what it looks like! Cheers dude!

    you can mix ink with matching colour to increase colour intensity - you can add matt medium to ink for airbrushing to mute the high gloss of the ink.

    I was able to get the White Ink finally from my local store after it being always sold out. It's great to add to something like Corax White when thinning it down 😁

      Finally! 😀 and yeah I bet that must be great! I find using the white ink as a base and then painting over the top with paint or inks gives such a bright colour! Always another option :)

    im planning on sticking to CYMK, and white (and grey because im lazy) inks from liquitex so i have a very stable and standard place to start from to mix colors. theres a great video by "The state of play" that covers how to get virtually any color ink you want by using a very repeatable process. it was posted about 4 months ago this could help your issue with ork skin using the color chart he gives.

    My guess as to why that happened on the wing is that you didn't give the previous layer of ink time to cure all the way. Inks are super delicate and will come right off if they don't have proper drying times. Don't know how long you let it sit. Just my guess though. Orc looked real good.

    • @johnosminis
      @johnosminis  Рік тому +2

      I would normally agree but I left it to sit for wellllll over 12 hours! (Purely because I forgot to go back to it lol) which is why I was super confused haha.
      Thanks for the compliment:)

    IMHO, it may not be worth buying that set. At least where I am at, you can get the individual inks at the same per unit price or even a bit cheaper than the set, and if you buy individually, you can get Magenta and Cerulean Blue rather than Red and Primary Blue. Getting the CMY colors will lead to better mixing to make other hues.

  • @BGL19283
    @BGL19283 8 місяців тому +1

    You can just get some ultra matte Liquitex medium. Mix a tiny bit into the ink. You literally don't need much, a drop maybe. It'll eliminate the shine before you even paint.

    I used white acrylic ink to draw with a dipping pen on black paper and it looks fantastic. I've used a lot of Indian ink in the past but acrylic inks flow better. Shellac ink goes gummy but acrylic flows wonderfully
