People don't make the mistake that I did on my 99 mustang gt. I put a fuel cleaner in my tank and did not replace my fuel filter first so the cleaner loosened up all the crud that was accumulated inside of my filter and the loosened crud accumulated inside of my injectors and stopped them up, so if you introduce a fuel cleaner into your tank then I would advise you to have a relatively new fuel filter first. Experience is a wonderful and sometimes costly teacher.

Here’s my experience: snap on fluid ran through the fuel rail-using motor vac machine is superior compared to BG. I didn’t notice any difference when the shop id been going to switched to bg product without me knowing. Still charged the same though. So I went back and complained about not noticing any improvement. My case was more extreme then simply high mileage though. 2 leaking injectors on s10. With the snap on fluid truck ran much better for about 600 miles. Finally had it fixed when buddy got back to town.

Marvel mystery oil has some cleaning qualities that manifest when it is combusted in the cylinder however, it's main purpose is to provide top cylinder lubrication and lubrication within the moving parts of the fuel system... fuel pump, injectors, etc. I would use BG 44K to clean / strip out the fuel system, then follow up with MMO to lubricate everything. MMO also conditions the rubber parts and seals keeping them from drying out from harsh additives like ethanol in the gas and strong solvent like cleaners such as BG 44K, seafoam etc...AWESOME VIDEO! 👍👍

@Peter Angles What opinions? I stated facts not opinions. Not all fuels in all areas are clean all of the time. All it takes is one bad batch of gas and that will leave contaminates in the fuel system. Using products like Marvel mystery oil and BG 44K ensures that the fuel system will operate at peak efficiency throughout its service life. Just because a "modern" fuel system can withstand harsh fuels and is reliable to a high mileage doesn't mean keeping it clean is unecessary or unimportant. These products provide extra insurance for reliability and longevity. Like the old saying goes " If you take care of your car, it will take care of you."

Thanks for evaluating the BG44K! I've been using it every 10,000 miles in my vehicles and since 1994. When I had purchased my 1994 Mazda Protege I was introduced to it by Pat Goss (from the Car Show), when he conducted a seminar at my Mazda dealership, with a cross section cut of a 1.8L engine, and taught me also how to do a proper intake manifold cleaning. I immediately saw a 10% increase in power from a dead stop, and 2.5mpg fuel increase (after following BG's procedures). You're right, BG chemicals are the bomb!
Just don't forget to wear gloves, and have a CLEAN shop rag handy in case you spill any on the paint, because it can eat right through your clearcoat in less than 30 seconds. This was developed specifically for race car and high end vehicles originally that rev at very high rpms, so you can be confident it will work on any gasoline engine (can't speak to 2 strokers).
No, I don't have any connection to BG, but I know what works. Btw, I average driving my vehicles 250,000 miles, and with very little loss of performance or mileage, and with combustion chambers that look like they just rolled off of the assembly line.
    Nuff said!

In my humble experience, BG44K, Royal Purple Max Clean / Max Atomizer, and Redline SL-1 are topshelf products with monstrous levels of PEA. Older and traditional products like Seafoam and MMO are also excellent. With all of them, I have found that time and frequency is your friend. BG 44k is a very good product. My mechanic suggests using a can of it in the gas every time he changes the oil, which adds about $20 to the bill. It's expensive, but worth it in my opinion.
In 2016, the same mechanic replaced the fuel pump in my 2002 Chevy truck. At that time, he suggested using some Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas. He said that the MMO would lubricate the new fuel pump, and it should last longer. Ever since 2016, I have been using MMO in the gas of my truck, car, and lawn mower every time I fill up with great results. I use the recommended 4 ounces of MMO for every 10 gallons of gas.
Both vehicles are running better than ever, and my car now gets at least an extra 1.5 to 2 more miles per gallon on the highway. With Walmart now selling the quart (32oz) size of MMO for $3.98, (it had been $3.88 at Walmart for many years) I am actually saving money using MMO, as I am using less gas.

@Peter Angles I use MMO in the gas and in the crankcase as an added lubricant and it keeps the sludge from forming. The point of putting it in gas tank isn't for more BTU or power/energy, it's there to supplement in lubricating the injectors and the upper rings/cylinder. Every 25k miles, I use the BK products to clean injectors and the oil control rings. The BG is the best. I've run it in my lawn equipment and after a season of use, I pulled the pistons and they look new, not all crusted up with carbon and sludge. I believe in BG ;-)

Thanks for the test, one thing I might add ... been hauling Mobil gas for 24yrs now, since merging with Exxon in 2001, Exxon cut Mobil's gas additives in half, it barely meets the minimum for auto makers requirements. Their premium has twice the additives per gallon, which might have worked better in this test. You used to be able to "Drive your car clean" when Mobil was Mobil with twice the additives in the regular. All Exxon cares about is profits, in my opinion.

Marvel mystery oil would work great in a rotary Mazda Rx motor because it's basically a two cycle engine and need a little help. BG has worked well on everything from lawnmowers, snowblowers and many other engines. The true comparison is when you do a before and after inspection of the cylinder with a small camera down the plug holes. Another note is not all of these products combust the same and some leave behind more than they help.

I can honestly tell you that none of these products do the job nearly as well as Amsoil's P.I. 'Performance Enhancer'. I had a 2004 Monte Carlo that I religiously added P.I. to the fuel tank twice per year. This was in 2010 and it had just under 100,000 miles on the odometer. My wife took that vehicle in for some service, I believe it was something about a belt and fuel filter. They attempted to scare her into paying for a fuel injection system cleaning. She called me, and I drove to that dealership and instructed the tech to push a scope into the intake to observe it's current condition. He took a close look and removed his scope and told the service manager that he had never seen a system so clean with that many miles on it before. I told them to give her the car and she headed home. I then told the service manager to take a hike.

I'm known among my friends as being very cheap so when I was told to try BG44K about 35 years ago to clear up a hard "miss" that was an injector related issue on my 1987 Plymouth Sundance, 2.2 turbo I thought there is NO way I'm going to pay $20 for someones slick marketing. I tried the $3 per bottle, STP injector cleaner, nothing. I was almost ready to take it to the dealership and pay about $400 to have the injector replaced. I went and spent the $20 and by the end of the next tank of gas the miss was GONE! I now use BG44K about every 2 years (I'm still cheap) in all my vehicles and have NEVER had a fuel related problem since!

I finally rebuilt my Harley motor last year as it needed a revamp like they all do around that mile mark. I’ve ran marvel in the fuel once a month and in every oil change since I got it. When I say the inside motor looked like it had 5k miles on it.. I’m serious. Mind you, the motor had 63k on it at the time of the rebuild. I was VERY impressed.

The BG 44K was definitely shown to clean up a dirty sparkplug in a dish of gasoline. But it may not mean much about how the product works inside a running engine. Throw in heat and pressure and consider long term effects on fuel injectors and O2 sensors. Does BG 44K do anything negative to the engine or catalytic converter? Who knows but it does clean a dirty sparkplug.

    • @Steven-gv1ke
      @Steven-gv1ke Рік тому +3

@@EmoKidsRule100 You do know why your oil turns black right? Every vehicle has a little "blow by". This is also why when you run your car even for 100 miles after a oil change, they recommend changing the oil in 5k miles OR 1 year, which every comes first, because the burnt fuel creates acids that start breaking down the viscosity of the oil even if it has less than 5k miles. Depending on the type of oil and additives, usually a year after burnt fuel is introduced into oil, it needs to be replaced. This is why people also seasonally change their lawn mower, ATV, tractor, etc, oil. So what he was insinuating with his comment was that a portion of that nasty stuff being burnt off during the BG44K cleaning will end up in your oil, so best to do it right before an oil change so you don't drive around for another 4k miles with a bunch a nasty stuff that is going to likely break down your oil at a higher rate.

I tried a few different types over the years. From my experience n what I personally noticed n felt in my car was biggest with techron and bg44 . I throw two fuel system cleaners in once a year back to back two tanks in a row and drive it till the low gas light comes on each time . The secret is to run it all the way down to empty and use premium gas with the treatment and keep your rpms high 2nd gear works great for hitting 4000+rpms on the streets speed doesn’t matter it’s all about the rpms freeway driving of course gets you high enough. Bg44 is pricey especially x2 I only used it twice Techron is way cheaper sometimes on sale $12 for two bottles at the zone auto zone. My thumbs downs list is Lucas ,mystery oil, spt or stp stuff seafoam. Seafoam idk I might not have done it right to be honest n fair. My Best advice take care of ur car! Good gas minimum 91 octane and change ur oil and fluids on time well do you more good than any cleaner but the cleaners do have their place, in every tank or every month is crazy tho maybe every 6 months to a year ya know don’t be blow ur cash on them and change your oil afterwards try to do it right before you’re next up coming oil change

⭐️ it look like the additives didn't mix too well with the fuel. It would have been interesting to run the test with pure additives vs regular fuel. However, the BG44 was definitely noticeably cleaner than the others. I'll have to give it a try. I've been using Marvel Mystery oil in high mileage engines and they seem to run smooth, but now I gotta try bg44...👍

I agree the BG 44k is great stuff. My understanding BG44K and Techron or techroline? Are the same base chemical. So if you can’t locate the BG use techroline additive.

Then why not just buy the fuel with Techron already in it?

@@bowez9 CHEVRON Gasoline is listed as a "TOP TIER" fuel.
"TOP TIER" fuels are supposed to be the best.
Chevron gasolines have the "TECHRON" additive already in their fuel formula.
Chevron gasoline gives me the best all-around combination of performance and economy.

I get what the point of your video is. My suggestion is to try to create experiments that more closely resemble the applicable use. For instance. you should find some dirty used fuel injectors from the junkyard and test their initial output of fuel, then mix the additive with the correct ratio of fuel per the instructions. Next, run the mix through the injectors until the mix is used up then test the flow after. The cleaner injector wins.

Now if you could use combustion and heat this would be real interesting. Maybe a lawnmower with an auxiliary tank (small) and run it through.

BG diesel cleaner is the bomb , saw an old ford escort failing an emissions test , with only one gallon in the tank we added BG to the tank live on the emissions tester , it went to pass in under 3 minutes , no bullshit , 100% true , FORTE products are also very very good .

To clean carbon, (manually) like let's say spark plugs and combustion chambers coated because direct injection... Isn't that a bummer?
The cheapest and most powerful solution I have is pure toluene, like BG44 you shouldn't leave that sitting in your fuel system more than a couple hours at most! Just to be on the safe side test new solvents, like pure toluene, on pieces of hose, filters & various plastic scraps, so you'll know what you're dealing with 😊

Could you possibly do a test for me? I know for MMO or any other additives, your “suppost” to add a certain amount per ___ gallons of fuel. But i did read too on some bottles “over adding will not hurt the engine” so in my old 2500HD gas truck i used to add s full bottle of MMO every other full tank fillup. It could just be me playing tricks on me but i did see a good amount of improvement to my mpg and how the engine ran. Could you possibly do a test like that? Like a “overkill” test to see if there was more mmo mixed in gas if it actually does clean it or if it makes it worse? That would be a really cool video to watch in my opinion! If “the more the better” does actually work with additives.

I wouldn't go more than the recommended dose. The problem with MMO is it does (contain oil) small amounts will burn off but in large amounts will probably destroy your catalytic converter over time.

Whip's right. With MMO, more isn't better. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. On older vehicles, increasing the dosage might not do anything, but newer vehicles will cause alot of EXPENSIVE repairs. Always follow the instructions if you have a newer vehicle...

The reason they fogged up is probably the gas had alcohol on a humid day. Try that with straight gas with alcohol on a humid day and they it fog up also. Pulling moisture out of the air

Star tron is a fuel stabilizer as well. Iv left gas sitting for 2 years in a generator after being treated with star Tron, never got a clogged carburetor or anything. Yank the cord and the motor fires right up
