  • Have you ever wondered which fuel injector cleaner is the BEST? Well...this video will answer some of that question for you to make an informed enough decision on which injector cleaner is best for you.
    I somewhat scientifically tested Lucas, Seafoam, Seafoam Concentrate, Royal Purple Max Clean, Gumout, Marvel Mystery Oil, and a secret fluid that performs better than the rest...and it also performs worse than all of them by soaking spark plugs in each cleaning fluid to see if it could remove the carbon and deposits from the plugs...

    Lucas is an upper cylinder lubricant to lube rings and help break up stuck rings, not just a cleaner thats why viscosity is oil like.

      Yes the Lucas and the Marvel are the two that are much more like an oil and act a bit more like oil as well during this test.

    So if this is a fuel injector cleaning test... Why are you cleaning a spark plug?

    • @TorqueAndTwisted
      @TorqueAndTwisted  Місяць тому

      So you can see the results. I don't have a camera that fits inside fuel injectors.

      You do know that the electrode side of spark plugs get sprayed with fuel, right?

    • @kornshadow097
      @kornshadow097 Місяць тому

      @@dunerinaz obviously. But spraying and soaking aren't the same thing... Besides an injector isn't in the combustion chamber so it would never come in contact with combustion Gases... Unless it's DI. All it will ever face is gunk that gets through the fuel filter or PCV valve... You ever seen actual tests for Injectors and cleaning procedures? They have them... They can actually test cleaners by spraying... Soaking though, nobody does that...

      @@TorqueAndTwisted you don't need one... Just take the injector out of the car and hook it to a battery (PWM if you want) while using a Venturi pipe to syphon cleaner and push pressurized air through a normal compressor through it at ~55Psi or whatever your cars injector runs.

    I am no expert by no means but as I was watching I got to wondering if it would have a different reaction if it was mixed with actual gas. Wonder is there may be a chemical reaction verse just the cleaner. Not trying to be a Richard hahaha was just wondering loved the video I definitely learned something

    I think testing using a standardized ASTM method would be a bit more accurate. That would also not involve spark plugs but actual injectors. This test would be more accurately described as a carbon removal test. Also as a foot note check your owners manual for the use of fuel additives as they may not be allowed by the manufacturer especially for turbo equipped vehicles. Just FYI

    What in the world are you testing? A spark plug cleaner, and a wire brush?
    Don’t you think these injector cleaners should be diluted in gasoline, like they would in your car? You’re not going to be able to use your wire brush in cars fuel injection system either. I’m not sure what exactly you are trying to show us.

      I’m simply showing you how these cleaners stack up against carbon build up with what I could find to test with at a hardware store. Sorry if this confused you somehow.
