Jackie and Fez were like Rachel and Joey....the relationship nobody asked for 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
I never made the connection until this video. Both couples had the guy hitting on the girl as a running gag. How were we supposed to take it seriously when they suddenly wanted it for real?
At least the writers of Friends had the good sense to realize how stupid Joey and Rachel were as a couple and immediately back-peddled on ever making it a thing.
Jackie and Hyde seemed like a more realistic relationship
realistic as in doesn't work?
I definitely preferred Hyde and Jackie together tbh. Putting the Masterson scandal aside, I loved their characters' relationship because they made each other grow up. Hyde doesn't let Jackie walk all over him like Kelso and not afraid to call her out while Jackie pushed Hyde to be more in touch with his feelings and made him more emotionally mature.
The reason why almost everyone felt off during the last season was because the writers were different. The original writers wanted that season to be a Kelso vs. Hyde slow burn and having Hyde be with Jackie in the end. But the new writers stated they don't like her so they reverted Jackie to her Season 1 self and forgot that she matured during the later seasons. Hell, they even made her Donna and Sam's verbal punching bag for jokes and pairing her with Fez felt so tacked on and a last-minute decision so everyone can pair up.
Mila Kunis seems to be the only person who thinks that Jackie should have stayed with Fez, citing that the only reason the spinoff writers put Jackie and Kelso back together was because Mila and Ashton are together in real life.
Also, Hyde was very not available to be an option
@@drautch Was he busy with something? He couldn't make it? ..........
@@VIK_1903 busy preparing for the retrial for his sexual assault charges. Misstrialed the first time
@turma85 On June 17, 2020, Hyde's actor was arrested and charged with 3 counts of forcible rape, which he denied.
@@VIK_1903 LOL
Love how the Jackie went from being the worst character to arguably the most complex in the show, and the new writers were like "nah, let's not expand this"
They didn't have new writers, dumbass.
Literally had the exact same writers throughout the entire series.
I think that unintentionally it gives a GOOD message. That sometimes we're infatuated by someone without even knowing them, and when we get to know them we realise it's all a projection, and they're not nearly as wonderful as we though.
Make the Hyde-Jackie video. This is therapy for me. I got PTSD from the demolition of this coupling and the recent 90s show saying she got back with Michael.
Even Mila just said to the associated press that she doesn't see her character getting back with Michael. And she's married to the real life guy!
Jackie & Hyde were genuinely one of the best romances in a sitcom. And as someone who doesn't traditionally like sitcoms outside of a set few (It's Always Sunny being my favorite) I enjoyed how elements of it always seemed there at first, and when it came to the conclusion it worked. While also working well off of each other, neither of them took shit from the other as well. It was a much better dynamic than Eric and Donna, which while I DO like there are moments where Donna couple be unreasonable. I feel like Fez and Jackie being together would have made more sense in the beginning of the show because Fez was MUCH less of a creep. They fit better in the beginning when Kelso was cheating on her, and Fez wanted to treat her right.
I would love to see a video on Jackie and Hyde’s relationship, I shipped them so hard as a kid. I remember being so sad that they weren’t endgame (but I would have been more satisfied if she ended up with Kelso or nobody than she did with Fez)
I feel like nobody would've been the best option. That the writers kept opening the door to put her and Kelso back together was annoying, especially when Kelso of all people correctly points out in their last breakup that they basically bring out the worst in each other.
Speaking of that 90s show, it's weird to me that they set the first season in the summer of 95 and make most of the characters 15. Because that 70s show ended at the start of 1980, so that means that Eric and Donna and Jackie and Kelso has kids Immediately after the show ended with no time in between. It's especially bad with Leia because Babies typically take 9 months from conception to birth and her birthday is in the summer. Meaning that at best she was conceived the very month Eric came back, but ONLY if she was born in the part of September that is still summer. Though honestly it seems she was supposed to be born in July or August based on when the birthday episode is, so Eric somehow impregnated Donna FROM AFRICA when they were broken up. Like why not set it in 97 to parallel the original series start, or even 96 to let the actors age with the show but give their parents a year of a grace period?
i choose to believe she hooked up with randy and proceeded to lie to eric
It's possible she was a month premature, could explain why Eric is so clingy to his daughter in episode 1. The real crazy factor is Jay Kelso. He's implied to be older. They don't outright say it so maybe he is younger by a few months but if he is older that means while Jackie was supposed to be with Fez she was probably knocked up by Kelso.
Does it really seem impossible that Eric got Donna pregnant I mean he clearly doesn't use a condom (evident by the episode where she got on pregnancy pills and the one she forgot to take them) and they say Jackie was cheating on Fez (who also expressed interest in the pregnancy pill after finding out Donna was on it) it's not that hard for either of them to be in the moment and didn't again take them again and Jay is the probably the same age just mature I mean to be fair he seems more mature than both his parents were in the first season of that 70s show
I mean I think this video already established the show has a somewhat tenuous grasp of how time works
The continuity doesn’t make sense as it is it doesn’t matter
I'd love to hear Vee's thoughts on "That 90's Show." While it didn't quite capture the same magic of the original, the young cast did their best, and became more comfortable as the episodes progressed.
I would love vee to do a video on that 90ts show
@@davidmoncholi6746 It's probably coming
Hope he does one. Episode 6 sold it for me (but i also had a grandma with that same mixer and mixing bowl who frosted her cupcakes the same way Kitty does in it) The kids finally started feeling like a group and I want a 2nd season to see them all grow.
I enjoyed it as well. One of the few reboots that doesn't ruin the original; esp bc Red and Kitty are still hilarious
Yeah I like that 90s show. It felt real disney channel for the first fee episodes and then the more I let it sink in the more it really does carry on the general theme of the original show, even if the main characters are all different. I love whenever Kitty and Red are on screen though they are the best part
“This car that runs on water, man!” A Hyde and Jackie video would be great. I liked both pairings but I think I might have enjoyed Hyde x Jackie a bit more.
Hyde and Jackie brought out the best in each other. Hyde brought Jackie down to earth and Jackie taught Hyde to open up and be vulnerable.
"I'm telling you, government has a car that runs on water, man. They just don't want us to know because then we'd buy all the water... And then there'd be nothing for us to drink but beer, and the government knows that beer... set us free" - Steven Hyde
I'd love to hear more about your thoughts on Jackie and Hyde. They were my favorite couple in the series.
I agree! I always wanted Jackie and Hyde to end up together, but Fez and Jackie was just plain stupid. It's like watching Friends: the writers wanted Joey and Rachel (which I found stupid) to get together hell, Jennifer Aniston and Matt LaBronc wasn't on board with that...like writers for Tv shows stop trying to make some characters work with each other....listen to the actors and listen to the audience.
Even as a kid I never understood why Rachel and Joey were a thing
That last season of That 70s Show is a great example of why writers make 95% of a show.
I've never seen any of that 70s show or later series but I love your takes on these shows. It's quality entertainment
If you like sitcoms then you should watch it its one of the best
Mila kunis and danny masterson had the best chemistry not sure if it’s because he was the most experienced actor of the group and Mila ended up being the most accomplished and (best actor of the group IMO) of the group but like even them in the background of scenes like you could see the chemistry and doing stuff that added to the relationship.
Video Idea: describe Jackie relationship with Kelso then with hyde. Compare the two relationship to each other then take vote/poll of which pairing was most liked.
FINALLY!!! SOMEONE ON THE INTERNET MENTIONED HOW FUCKING WEIRD IT WAS THAT THIS SHOW HAD SOME MANY HOLIDAYS IN THE SPAN OF LIKE 3 YEARS
There’s this car that runs on water man
Yeah, Fez creeped on the women around him, but there was a point in time when they were potentially setting them up to end up together. There was the kiss that happened at the beginning of Season 2, where Fez misinterpreted the social cues that Jackie was giving off. Then Jackie said she liked the kiss. Then the rest of Season 2, Fez is trying to get her to fall for him and realize Kelso is the worst guy for her. When Fez got a girlfriend, Jackie was incredibly jealous. She liked the attention that Fez showered onto her. But then they moved away from by having Jackie devote herself to appealing herself to Hyde at the end of Season 2. Hyde got arrested because of something she did to appeal herself to him, and he willingly took the fall for her.
I think they knew that Jackie and Kelso were going to break up because of him cheating on her with Laurie, and I think they planned on her getting together with someone else in the group. But they couldn't have her with Eric, because he and Donna were endgame. So it had to be Fez or Hyde. I think they tried Fez, and realized it's funnier to see him pursue her, but not her reluctantly reciprocating those feelings; but it's funny to see Jackie pursue Hyde, and him reluctantly reciprocate her feelings.
I feel like if Jackie and Fez were going to get together, it should have been done around Season 3 or 4. By the point of Season 8, Fez had completely moved on from his infatuation with her. I think whichever writer wanted them together in Season 2, finally got their shot in Season 8, but didn’t have the time to naturally build them together.
The original writers of the first 7 seasons said they were setting up Hyde and Jackie from the very beginning and intended for them to be endgame. Season 8 writers screwed everything up.
Despite my dislike for the actor now, I’ve always liked Jackie and Hyde.
Probably making that kid (Charlie) die falling from the water tower? So tonally wrong for this particular show.
Referring to Fez getting repeatedly "turned down" by Jackie seems to put too much sincere value into the efforts he put in to ever seeking a relationship with her; its always a throwaway "what a cute, irrelevant crush" sort of thing from both of them, shown almost zero weight, and mostly side by side with the more meaningful relationships she has with Hyde and Kelso.
Finally been waiting like 20 years for this
Let's be honest, Fez and Jackie were just LITERALLY the "That 70's Show" equivalent of Roman Reigns, couple-wise. Of course, the Roman Reigns I'm talking about is the one that got shoved down our throats and is mostly hated by everyone early in his career.
BTW, this car runs on water, man.
Reins at least super popular in India. I don't think there even 10 person who like this
I've heard of that roman but I never seen him, first time I sent him in wrestling when he won the universal championship ND was the tribal chef
If it hadn't been so random and given more time to develop, I really could have gotten behind Jackie and Fez being together. It could have been a really nice relationship to see grow over the course of the later seasons. The problem was how rushed and sudden it was and how they destroyed the already great pairing of Jackie and Hyde.
When I realized Randy was going to be Donna's love interest, I stopped watching but then came back for the finale and see Jackie and Fez kissing and was like "wait what why?"
I feel like Jake broke up with fez a week later after getting together
That's what I think ND can make more sense
She gets back with Michael and have a kid
Plus, Fez just became very unlikable and creepy by the end.
No chemistry between them. Not like with Hyde and Jackie
Great job Vee Infuso
This line always rubbed me the wrong way when Jackie tells Fez “there’s no one I’d rather be with than you”
I tried to watch the 8th season since I enjoy things so bad they’re good but there was nothing to enjoy from the 8th season to this day
I was wondering if he going to bring up the That 90's Show stating the relationship ended quickly and put her back with Kelso.
Where is Kelso’s daughter?!
I think the pairing could have worked early on in the show but because they went the Jackie-Hyde route the characters of Jackie and Fes had deviated so much from each other that they were different characters by that time of the production and any chemistry they had together was lost.
Vee, I love you for using the Touettes guy UPDATE thing.
Were there ever plans for a Jackie & Fez spin-off à la _Joanie Loves Chachi_ (maybe with a bit of _I Love Lucy_ thrown in)? That would explain the rushed relationship at the show's end.
No, there weren't. The original writers of the first 7 seasons were setting up Hyde and Jackie from the beginning of the show, and intended for them to be endgame. New writers in Season 8 hated Jackie, and hated Jackie and Hyde together, and actively destroyed that relationship, and made their characters regress. The actors hated it. Danny was upset they broke them up. All of season was a complete failure and all the characters did not feel like themselves. Even the director said it was an alternate universe, not the universe of the first 7 seasons.
Great video and totally agreed. But more importantly, why am I just now finding out that there was a 90's Show?!?! 😲
i gotta give the w to my boy Fez though
I honestly didn't hate the idea of Jackie and Fez, but I absolutely did hate the way they pulled it off. Or rather, the way they failed to pull it off. The was a VERY tiny amount of groundwork there, but it wasn't much to work with, and the way it all played out came across as bad fan fiction. I especially hate the specific way Jackie suddenly develop feelings for Fez: she write a out a list of all the qualities she looks for in her ideal man, someone else tells her everything on the list describes Fez, and suddenly pursuing him is her only goal for the rest of the series. Seriously, that one knob I encountered recently who told me that they didn't like how That 90's Show split up Fez and Jackie was out of their mind.
Zero chemistry between them, unlike with Hyde and Jackie.
On paper, I was in theory fine with the pairing. As the season was executed, frack it.
There's this car... And it runs on water, man!
oh I can't wait for you to talk about that 90s show
This car it runs on water man. I would also be interested in hearing your thoughts on that 90s show. It definitely didn’t capture the magic of its parents series but it was an OK show. I feel somewhere in the middle about it and I would like to see a second season to see where the characters go.
Your intro is still wrong. Lol. You're one of my favorites, even when I disagree with you, I still watch the video and enjoy all of it. Love your points of view and thank you so much for doing what you do.
Signed, one of the least known and consistent UA-camrs... Zodiac.
I loved the idea of Jackie and Fez together ever since the disco episode way back where they dance together. I wish they gave it more time to develop during season 8 so it didn't feel so rushed.
That's 'cuz they literally rushed to make season 8.
Danny Masterson, told Fuse, that season 7, was the last, but that ended up, not being true.
Jackie was never supposed to be with Fez, just lazy writing, on a sinking ship.
I dunno, I kinda like the idea of them hooking up, but I also think you're right in that the series shouldn't have ended with them hooking up. Definitely should have been done a few seasons earlier.
When even though you knew that the performances were acted with Kelso and Hyde characters with Jackie character it felt genuine not forced this didn't feel like a normal bit of that 70's show it felt more out of place than Randy did and I finally found the one line he had that I didn't mind Hyde and him talking about Barry Manilow one line out of how many episodes Jackie and Fez felt forced like they couldn't write Jackie having a few episodes without a boyfriend or trying to get one so they just picked the one that creeped on like 90% of the women I would believe Fez and crazy girl getting together before him and Jackie dating the last few episodes
What I find hilarious is when Jackie confessed her feeling for her and he turned her down because he didn’t want to feel like a rebound and I see where he’s coming from. Then she proceeds to make his life miserable lmfaooo,
Excellent video! I feel like Jackie and Fez were forced together and that Jackie and Kelso are both equally screwed up enough to be soulmates, though I did also like her with Hyde possibly better than anyone else. I look forward to watching more of your content :)
Since the beginning of the series Fez was interested in Jackie and arguably one of the people who was nicest to her. That line where he said "you turned me down plenty of times" in season 8 showed how much he wanted her but she never played any attention to him. At that point in time I would have liked him to realize he deserves better than her. Also the fact that Danny Masterson is currently facing rape charges makes me believe that if he and Jackie were to be endgame, the writers would have had her end up with Kelso anyway.
"This car? It runs on water man!"
She was a teenage girl kissing grown men on camera when the show first started. Then they had her character be a pass around. That is the worst thing that 70's show did.
Yeah, I was a lot more interested in seeing Jackie & Fez together during their dancing episode but after seeing her with Hyde? Nah.
This car, it runs on water man.
There's this car that runs on water man!!!..
Seriously do the video. We demand it.
Potential for a good story in an upcoming season of That 90s Show where Kelso and Fez repair that broken relationship. Not sure how but maybe they get trapped in a room together or forced in a room together. Express themselves and really let that wound have a resolution. Some closure for Fez regarding Jackie.
"This car that runs on water, man."
Jackie deserved better than someone who only wants a physical relationship from her, continuously refuses to take no for an answer and s3xually harasses her. Every time Fez had a girlfriend, he would go out of his way to dismiss and insult Jackie. He only wanted her for s3x.
Fez deserved better than someone who continuously makes xenophobic and racist comments about him, and was never interested in him.
0:44 had Jacki and FES been a thing earlier on maybe. It was like they hated all the characters, and just reset them. Like the past 7 seasons just hadn’t happened.
There’s this car, and it runs on water, man.
I always thought the continuity, time, and how certain actors changed was due to the fact they were hardcore cannabis users. The double holidays made sense. It seemed like this was more through the combined memories of the past told through the lens of Eric Forman for seasons 1-7, and then Hyde or whomever for season eight.
This car that runs on water, man.
All jokes aside, I was all about Jackie/Hyde... and would have not ended up together in the reboot if not for the complex and terrible circumstances we now face. It would be gross now, and makes me hope he didn't creep on her irl.
It's a sequel show, not a reboot, fucking dumbass. Learn the difference!

waiting for the that 90s show video
There's this car that runs on water, man.
Yo what's the song intro called?
So....that time Meg fell in love with "Not-Apu" eh?
Fez and Jackie should have happened before Hyde and Jackie, as a rebound for some time like how they give clues of fez and Jackies fling in early seasons..that's how it should have happened and could make a lot of sense
I was glad That 90s Show quickly wrote it off, but I also wonder why she was on the phone with Kelso that night. Part of me half expects a future plot point to be she was telling Kelso she was pregnant, but that it is Fez's kid unknown to them all. Jay is set up with a bit of Fez to him too I feel.
The change in Fez character partly came because Ashton Kutcher left the show and the character shifted some character trait towards Fez.
Either most fans wanted that Fez came out the closet, what in the end never happened (while many moments that they set it up), heck The 90's Show could've fixed that they even set up a ep for that and still ruined it.
I just can't help but feel like the writer's were left scrambling once they realized the audience hated their Plan As and because the show was almost over they just kind of gave up trying to fix it and wrote whatever came to mind
I didn't hate Fez & Jackie ending up together although I wish they got soon. Like when Kelso & Hyde where fighting over her, that would have been much better timing than the last two episodes of the series.
This was the 90s show got right. 🤣🤣
There’s a car that runs on water man
Yeah they passed Jackie around like a joint 😂
There is this car that run on water man
If Mila Kunis herself said Jsckie and Fez was the right choice, that settles it for me
Exactly 😂
Shocked they didn't get a spin off. Which feel could have been planned. Then got canceled.
Employing Danny Masterson and letting him stick around despite how whack his behavior was is the worst thing that 70s Show ever did. Like what a freak.
Season 8 just doesn’t exist for me. It was Erik’s fever dream in Africa that prompt him to return home.
What have you been making of the new 90s show?
I'm glad they lazily fixed this for that 90's show
i kind of agree, but personally i think the biggest screw up with relationships was when they tried to make a relationship between donna and josh meyers character. It was bad enough that they tried to write a new character into erics role but for donna to go all in on the new guy... seemed wrong regardless of the circumstances.
There is this car that runs on water man
It runs on water, man!!!! ...Please. Please do the thing.
It runs on water man
I never liked Jackie and Kelso together. (Yes, I said Kelso; nobody liked the Jackie/Fez thing.) They brought out the worst in each other a lot of the time, and even though they were similar and arguably had chemistry, they never struck me as the couple that was in it for the long haul. Like Vee mentions, Jackie really developed as a character over the course of the series ... especially during her relationship with Hyde (and vice versa). And, while I completely understand why Danny Masterson couldn't/shouldn't be back for the revival, there was no reason they couldn't have written Hyde into the show as Jackie's husband/significant other.
Dm was charged with sa. Hyde’s a great character but it would not be a good look to have masterson on that 90s show
@@dotcom3015Maybe learn to read, bud. I said I understand why Masterson couldn't and SHOULDN'T come back. Doesn't change the fact that the characters were better together.
@@Dez861 they already ruined it by having Hyde cheat on Jackie and putting Jackie with fez at the end of the show. What does it matter what they retcon after that?
Aw, did you think we were buds because I was the only one that replied to you after eight months? Maybe if you stop implying people are illiterate when they respond to you, you’ll make friends in real life someday.
1:59 why didn’t they keep that Hyde and the stripper. They did real work for those arcs to just throw them away for a hollowed out fan service.

Season 8 was bad all around. Once Donna dyed her hair blonde, it was all downhill. Mostly, cuz Ashton and Topher were gone, and we got lame ass Randy.

Jackie and Fez was no worse than Jackie and Hyde. Hyde is the worst friend ever. He creeped on Donna and then Jackie. The whole friendship is toxic and kind of gross how they pass Jackie around.
Jackie in love with Fez is like Veronica in love with Jughead. And that's all I have to say about that. 🙂
Please do Hyde and Jackie video
Danny Masterson is irreplacible as Hyde or else nobody anywhere would think of recasting. Which is what I gather.

If they gave them 3 seasons
For us to fall in love with their secret crushing
The friends finding out but the other not knowing
Their moment of realisation
Their first date
Their sweetness
Their minute fallout (not big bc it turns us off the idea of them together)
The fighting for their love again
Let us see them as a real couple in love with their problems here and there bc they actually look so beautiful together
Then we see them starting to face challenges together as a team
Let us seek them cry
Let us see them be silly
Let us see them think long term
So much they could’ve done to make it real and believable
Again they make such a beautiful couple appearance wise, we needed to fall in love with their intertwined souls❤️
