Thanks, a Robin built a nest over the sprocket and attached to the chain and knocked it off.
You saved me a $150 service call!!
Too bad about the robins nest, but I’m glad you were able to fix it and save 150 bucks. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Thanks! Saved me a service call.

How do I know the chain is in the right place? I can loosen and reattach but I don’t know if my chain is in the right spot.
It’s hard to get it perfect the first time. The best thing to do is have the door all the way down and then make sure the chain is locked into the door opening bar and then put it on the sprocket that will get you close. And there’s adjustments when you’re Opening and closing the door you can program the opener to stop at specific locations. I hope this helps
@@shanesmaineshophow do you program it to stop.
@@SuperGreen81 There is a learn button on the back of the opener you push that and when the door gets to where you want you push the button on the remote to stop it
What do I do when it keeps coming off the sprocket every single time no matter how much I tighten it?
It could be to tight or the opener is worn out internally so it has to much play in the sprocket. hard to tell not seeing it in person.
My garage motor looks like yours but no tensioner anywhere😢
lots of people are saying the same thing
So what to do??? I am in the same boat. No tensioner
Check by the actual door instead up by the motor that’s where mine was and it looked different than his
@@clinthousel7324 Yeah there is a few different models out there for sure.
@@shanesmaineshop btw thanks my parents were ready to call a repair guy until I looked at it and watched your video lol
I don’t have a tensioner. What can I do?
Do you have the same kind of door opener as in my video? I am not sure how you would keep your chain tight without a way of adjusting it.
@@shanesmaineshop yea same kind but no tensioner. Chain came off sprocket and I can’t find how to loosen it up
@@luisbarbosa9640 I am sure you already looked, but did you follow the chain all the way around to the cable part and still no place with some kind of threaded bolt to loosen it up?
@@shanesmaineshop followed and nothing.
@@luisbarbosa9640 well thats a new one for me. I am trying to think of how else it could be done but nothing is coming to mind
