The spruce goose was a single plane built by Howard Hughes. It was made entirely of wood and was the largest plane in the world at the time. It only flew once.
It's now in a museum, N Ca, or further up the coast? They built a building specifically for it. It's an interesting story! Hughes was supposed to be doing taxi testing, he pushed the throttles up and took off! It never got out of ground effect, but they counted it as a flight. LOL --gary
This is so cool!! Electro builds good stuff indeed and it's always great to see and hear you play! I saw the Spruce Goose back when I lived in California. It was on display in Long Beach. I was just a crazy kid with a dream!!
Dang man…I was hoping to catch some more pro-level pogo stick action again today. Kids are the greatest thing about this kooky planet! Best to you Jedd and thanks for all the great content…nothing but love for you! 👍
EHX really does make some great sounding effects. I don't know why I've never pulled the trigger on a Freeze pedal. I've wanted one for quite some time. Hope you and the family are having a great weekend Jedd!
Jedd, you might like the Walrus Monument tremolo v2 pedal. I think it’s great. It has harmonic & standard modes, you can choose your wave form, tap tempo, momentary latch for on/off, as well as momentary latch to increase the speed when pedal is on. They recently released a stereo version, which I haven’t played yet. Cheers, mate!
The Monument (mono) is a great trem. I have a few options but I think it’s the best for anything but the most basic on/off. The momentary works well, plus there’s an expression jack. the new stereo one looks and sounds terrific and the option to stereo pan and blend between standard and harmonic trem feels like it’d be great for guitar and for a synth
I think I’ve said “I don’t know why I sold that” about 600 times. And I currently have several more things for sale ha. Tasty licks as always there at the end 👏
Howard Hughes project for that airplane. It was called “The Spruce Goose”. Great feat of design and engineering at the time, but a fail in practical use.
Dang, that Doozie sounds good! I've looked at LP Jr's from Eppie, Gibson and CS, plus vintage. It's just hard to part with $4000+ for a LP Jr.!! I think the Doozie is ~3400?? Think I have to try building one first. I'm a 'newbie' for pedals. All I used for the first 40-ish years was a Boss Blues Driver. Then I bought a head with no reverb, and I bought a HOF verb pedal. Maybe it's time to play with pedals a little more. 8) Thanks Jedd...., I think? LOL 8) --gary
A "spruce goose" is also when someone shoves a pine cone up their a$$. Kinda like Howard Hughes did to the U.S. taxpayer with that huge underpowered wooden flying boat.
Howard Hughes built the Spruce Goose out of wood, since something that size (it was huge) needed to be light enough to fly. It never quite “took off “ so to speak but was subject to much scrutiny and subsequent ridicule.
The only Spruce Goose in Oregon on display . If WWII had continued past '47 the idea was to build several and transport (to Japan) 400-500 troops per plane per flight.
Thanks Jed. I think you sold me on a Goose. Is that freeze called a deep freeze? I know they came out with a new one but I haven't heard much of anything on them since.

Right on! Thanks for the info mate!
Howard Hughes H-4 Hercules (Spruce Goose) was actually made of birch and made one small flight, made of wood because of WWII restrictions on aluminum.

@@gtr1952 it’s in the evergreen museum in Oregon after being moved from Long Beach CA.
@@rstats2127 Thank you!! I remembered reading the story, forgot the details. I'm 72, and have some CRS days. (Can't Remember S**t) 8) Cheers, --gary
@@gtr1952 thanks, hope all is well, I toured it when it was displayed in Long Beach. Incredible engineering feat!

Aww man thank you mate. I’d love to see that old bird one of these days. Hope you are well man
Thanks, Jedd! People who post content for the benefit of others, instead of themselves, is always the best content!! Thanks for all that you do.
Right on man. I just like connecting with all the good humans out there. I appreciate it mate
Great to hear you combining them!
Man, I need some new EHX pedals! Sounds great, Jedd! Happy Friday! Love the POG sounds!

100 % All that matters, thanks for the kind words mate!
Awesome! sounds great! Electro harmonix makes some of the coolest most inspiring pedals to play through.
Yeah man they are awesome
Love my Eh 720.

They make it easy mate, Its great stuff
maybe I missed the comment below , but the movie The Aviator is an excellent 2004 Martin Scorsese movie about Howard Hughes absolutely worth a viewing
Yes! Loved it
Great reviewing, by an exceptional player!
Thank you!

holy shit! that sounds cool! I’ll check it out mate
Dang, I am really surprised by how open and clear that Spruce Goose sounded at lower gain settings, and how big it sounded at higher gain. Nice.
Its a winner! Going on my new board!
Thanks Jedd!🔥🎶😎
Electro harmonix is a total rabbit 🐰 hole. I won't say anything more. Have fun with them! 😎🤓
I think I’ve said “I don’t know why I sold that” about 600 times. And I currently have several more things for sale ha.
Tasty licks as always there at the end 👏
haha i hear ya mate!
Buddy any company would be lucky to have you demo their shit, you play with such freaking precision it makes me sick. Thanks for the video
that’s very kind of you, thank you mate, hopefully not “too sick” haha
Sounds great. I never heard term “” “ latching” before
I like dirty clean.

Hahaha you are welcome, i think! ha
The doozy rocks man, super in tune and seems to weather the seasonal changes better than most
Great demo, very tasteful, thanks. Tell us about the birds please.
We have a few acres of woods behind us, lots of great stuff flying and running around out here :)
I hope this Spruce Goose flies more than one time...
Its going on the board!
I have an owned a bunch of EVX pedals. They all sound great but seem to all have quirks.

Hahahahahaha
Saw you had Greer Southland on your board. I've never been able to bond with harmonic od's but not for lack of trying.
Its a cool one man, I use it quite a bit

Love this! Thanks for sharing!
That dusenberg sounds awesome
Vintage ?
Its a couple years old mate
I'm a '90s DMM nut and the nano DMM is killer imho.
I totally agree
how do you set the delay to sound like that ambient reverb sound?
Was it ‘shoegazing’ you were looking for?
haha yes! thank you
Thanks Jed.
I think you sold me on a Goose.

Im sold too! I love cool shit that works and doesn’t cost a fortune!
