@@lctasos5681 lol so true though. I got tired of the grind, ended up giving my bowmaster away to some kid in Michigan, he was younger than me and I had to get more responsible. The music in temple of time just resonates good times and bad times, more bad times though. I did quit when I got this far and realized the game will not end.
I like how you use the word days are numbered here, it truly encapsulate those of us that grind and explore our way up from the dust with only guide books and magazines as our only source of guidance.
I don't know if this is just the nostalgia talking, but this one of the most incredible soundtracks even outside of just gaming. Very emotional and very memorable
No you're right. I've played every game under the sun in the last 30 years but I still consistently come back to the maple ost. Every song is a banger. Even a lot of the new songs are good too. They go so hard.
I go way back with this game and this area in particular, back when it was on the back of gameinformer magazine. As i lived my life I occasionally remembered these songs. Remembrance fits well with my youth and spending lots of time in the green leafy rivers for fun. Repentance came to mind more as entering adulthood and military, in a particularly cold winter i think back at all I wish i could go do again. Forgetfulness is scary as its as loud as reality, I am disabled and depressed, now trying to remember what it was that could bring back the happiness i felt when i was young.
Strongly agree with ‘forgetfulness is scary as loud as reality’. I’ve been often told to move on and stop lingering in the past when I seek nostalgic content as if it was a part of me that I should have shaken off. I don’t want to allow that to happen to me. My past is me. I need to get healed from the damage caused by the modern worlds 😢
You'll find it to the extent you can find a whole story wrapping your life around and stitching it together, hoping for a good outcome e.g. getting to heaven. Also take it one day at a time and connect with people since, although there's definitely a place for thinking ahead and being wise and times to be alone, it's a mechanism for humility.
I want these songs played at my funeral. I'm being dead serious, pun not intended but appreciated. Not only do they work thematically (the passage of time and the whole idea of moving forward and cherishing memories) but as the ToT questline builds into the Arcane River, it's very much like a "final stretch" kind of feeling. This is it. The final boss of life, death; or in this analogy, the "final" boss of MapleStory, the big bad, Black Mage. Besides, the happier upbeat music makes for a more fitting celebration of life. I want to be remembered as a funny, happy person. I want that reflected when I die as well.
The Temple of Time BGM is exceptionally phenonemal. The way the music portrays the steps of after mistakes is beautiful. First, we remember and start to perhaps regret about our situation. Then, it song's tone drastically transfers to a melancholy tone of repentance. And u just wasted ur time reading this hahahahahaha

I may never play this famous game on the PC because, i didn't have one, once i have i didn't know much how to use Here i am, hearing a music from gold era of games on pc, I wouldn't never know what it feels to play this game but i--no we have one simply thing in common once we talk about of old games independent what you are: Pc, Console and Arcade. "Nostalgic"
I was born in 2005, and regret not playing this game when I was young (at that time, I think I have seen it but never bother playing). If only it's the other way around, I could've made a lot of memories and maybe more online friends. Now, I can only listen to the game's soundtrack while studying, sleeping, or even meditating. It's a truly golden masterpiece; MapleStory is beyond just a game anymore.
When I finally reached this part of the game, I knew my days were numbered and I had to grow up.
Bullshit

It really is amazing. Temple of time, Ellinia, El Nath, and "The 3rd Flight" are all ridiculously good.

In Zenith, this is where I'd hang with a handful of people whenever we wanted to be alone from a much larger group.
One of the best soundtracks in a game filled with great soundtracks.
