Exactly! There's nothing like it. The scene that scared me as a kid was the scene in the first movie when the ED 209 fucked that guy up in the board room
I have yet to see the entirety of both Robocop movies, however as a kid I have distinct memories of a scene in the first Terminator movie with the robotic endoskeleton walking towards both the camera and the protagonists. Those kind of stop motion scenes (much like Cain's pursuit through hallways and elevator shafts) emulates the presence of approaching danger mixed with the uncanny valley effect of stop-motion animation.
2:39. Let's just take a moment to appreciate this simple little stunt done by a stuntman that no one remembers. He jumped down from a moving APC that was turning in his direction. One slip and he's under the tires.
I know right! never noticed how close that was. My guess is that was his idea and the driver had no clue...Had he not managed to save himself probably would have ended up on filming fatalities.

Yeah I made the mistake of watching chat when a streamer was playing the demo. Saw gems like "oh look strong female char" whenever Luis was on screen.... or "Looks like fallout modded".... because of the Green HUD lol
That's one the reasons I love it honestly, the balls to show innocent people getting shot and killed. I wish more hard-R action movies did this when the context made sense in the movie.

Judging by how the first film casually starts off with a guy getting shot to ribbons by an ED-209, the cops probably just expected something looking more like Robo himself and not well, Cain.

Remember my mum letting me stay up to watch this on tv! Robocain freaked me out, he was a walking nightmare tank! As you get older you appreciate Phil Tippett's incredible skills! Some of the best stop motion period! Hollywood wouldn't dare make or release a movie this violent or crazy today!

Guns didn't have limited ammunition until Die Hard, but even then it took a few years for the idea to catch on in other films. Until the late 1990s Hollywood guns had infinite ammo and never needed reloading.
Of all the Robocop films, the first one will forever hold the title of being the best. But Robocain’s rampage is probably my favorite action sequence throughout all the films.

2:12 I love that little scene. Especially the sound effects of the gun stopping and starting back up with that huge thud of his foot landing halfway through. SFX really aren't apricated as much as they should be.
This was the first Robocop film I saw. I was 5 and there it was on a K-Mart shelf while Dad was checking out. I loved robots, I loved cops, he bought it for me. It was 20 minutes into the film he realized he made a boo-boo. 😊 One of personal favorite films, and Robo Cain no longer haunts my dreams.

Robocain’s design is kinda like a cartoonish bodybuilder. Big upper body small legs. And I don’t mean that as an insult. It’s a good fearsome design that’s way less human than Robocop. Great contrast.

Yep - 3 is horrendously bad like some children wrote it or a Disney movie. Yes Robocop 2 was such a great film really carried the story to the next logical step of what happens when a soulless corporation resurrect a bad guy instead. The original movie was inspired by blade runner and robocop 2 really helps explore the concept further.
Well, the processes they use for that kind of thing clearly aren't exactly mentally healthy. Even someone who was relatively normal might go a little nuts or just have a breakdown and refuse to do anything if you stuck their brain in the robot. Robocop is kind of a special case because he's legitimately a hero, and apparently very mentally tough. The previous "Robocop 2" models they showed committed murder suicide, and suicide respectively. The second pulled his fucking head off, or tried to for godsake.
When I was a youngster my mom and I went to the Wortham Center to watch the filming of parts of this scene. Mostly, standing and waiting, as I recall. I saw Peter Weller hobbling about in his suit. It’s a good memory.
The coolest and scariest element of these intense scenes is everyone and thing has infinite ammo. At the rate Cain was firing he would've been empty forever ago. Even Murphy's Beretta 93R is guilty of this with its 20-round mag firing 50 shots.
Robocain is the best, most powerful and the only robot I have ever seen in all robot movies. In the Robocop movie, I think the designer of the robocain that was included in the script should be given an award.

These RoboCop movies have always had a sense of ruthlessness to them. Reporters, civilians, and pedestrians get fucking wasted all the same.

This movie's script was so crazy even some of the characters on screen expressed doubts about it.
To be fair, they thought they could use his addiction to control him.
Props to that stunt actor hanging off the side of the armored vehicle near the end there.

The way it holds the gun is like holding a suitcase XD.
I love the fact that stop motion takes a big, steaming dump on top of all the CGI in the new movie, their computers, their entire CGI fly fest and so on and so forth.
