Who is watching in 2024? This movie was more than 30 years ago and reminds me of my everything, love, stupidity, energy and more. I love this song and movie that used this song a lot
That was, at the end of "The Snapper", such a lovely song, such a secret jewel of a movie.
I've been waiting since 1985 to see the face that beautiful voice belongs to.
Me 2.
Me too. First time I've seen this video. Just always watched the end of Some Kind of Wonderful.
I always pictured a young traveller beside a pony singing that till I seen this
Ditto
Good for you, bro!
In the years before UA-cam, I watched the closing credits of "Some Kind of Wonderful" (recorded from TV on VHS tape) hundreds of times, just to hear this song.
@Erik B How did we ever exist before UA-cam?
ΜΕ ΤΟΟ !!!
ME THREE !!!
Guys! Why didn't you buy the soundtrack? One of the best of the 80's! This song was recorded to many a mixed tape by yours truly, always to raves by the recipients.
@@olliojenarter You're right, because that's exactly why I bought the soundtrack to "So I Married an Axe Murderer." So I could have both versions of "There She Goes" by The La's and The Boo Radleys."
This is absolutely my favorite version of the song.
me too
Hear Hear!!!😆🤣@@samwise6295
me too sorry elvis
@@johnoreilly5828Never mind ! In fact, Elvis's version is already a cover of French 18th century song "Plaisir d'Amour".
I listened to the whole thing because of your comment, and the only thing I could think was - really?
My favorite cover of this song ever.
can't agree more!
it's my favorite because it's the best
Peter Asai
Me 2 Peter!!! 👍🏻🧝♀️😍
Favorite version* There, I fixed that for ya!
Agreed! Best cover from the 1980. You may like the 2016 Cover on ATX InterCession13
Just finished watching Some Kind of Wonderful for about the thousandth time. Love it. At one point I collected every cover I could find of Can’t Help Falling in Love. This is still one of my faves…
That was an underrated movie.
my favourite film of that time, love it to this day
Gotta love Molly!!
One of the BEST John Hughes movies for sure!!!
I just picked up the Vinyl record for the movie
I just remembered that there was a catchy, fantastic song in the end credits of the movie "Some kind of wonderful" and this brought me to this song exactly 32 years later...wow!
Concur
I will never tire of this version of the song. It's a truly fantastic interpretation of the original.
I agree. It's the best version out there.
Also used in The Snapper- a BRILLIANT Irish film! Perfect!
I love it. That last moment grabbing the beer was so damm irish, lol
Some kind of Wonderful
"You look good wearing my future."
"I didnt know Jenns lived in a hen house. Did you know Jenns lived in a house because i dont smell nothing but chicken s#@t."
Just watched it last night.
Just watched the film again and it's 2020
@@tparm now that sounds like a good thing to do today.
One of the best closing songs to an 80s movie.
Probably THE best!
John Hughes was an absolute genius director. More than any other, his movies are a literal time machine so we can always get that 80's feeling with the music, styles, school, etc.
One more cover of Elvis's version that is already a cover of French 18th century song "Plaisir d'Amour". Not bad that having been said.
I STILL am obsessed with this from 'Some Kind Of Wonderful', ever since I finally saw it circa 1994. Such a simple yet beautiful ending to a film!
This is my hubby's and my love song. Both of us have a nostalgic love for 80s film and music yet neither had watched Some King of Wonderful till we were dating in 2020. When we were discussing getting married, hubby said that this is the song he thinks about when he believed he was first falling in love with me because he was so surprised to have met someone who had the same interests and tastes as well as same beliefs. He's not a romantic fellow, but that made my little soul do a jig.
Some Kind of Wonderful movie! I just saw it and was drawn to this cover song!! Uniquely and beautifully performed!!!! ❣️❣️❣️💚🇮🇪☘️
Fantastic voice and easily my favourite version of this song! Some Kind Of Wonderful is a brilliant movie! Duncan the Skinhead Rules!!
I LOVE HIM!
This is what my girlfriend looks like without skin. 😂
SKOW❤️💕
Keith: “You look good wearing my future”
Watts: “I hoped. I didn’t know”
cry!
"You knew"
This version of this song is as fabulous as everybody here says it is.
This track has been such a huge part of my life since seeing Some Kind Of Wonderful in the 80s. FINALLY I get to see the video. Out. Stand. Ing.
"You can't judge a book by its cover." - "No, but you can tell how much it's gonna cost you."
Love that line
Always seemed like pretty legitimate advice to me..
“Don’t go mistaking paradise for a pair of long legs.”
This is what my girlfriend looks like without skin.😂
This really is some kind of wonderful
Such a beautiful version of Elvis Presley’s song.... I want to sing & cry.... Bravo Lick the Tins 🎻👏🏻
One more cover of Elvis's version that is already a cover of French 18th century song "Plaisir d'Amour". Not bad that having been said.
Love this version, I think it was in the film 'The Snapper'
I always loved the ending of Some Kind of Wonderful mainly due to this awesome cover song.
I had this played at the end of my wife's and my wedding reception. The DJ played it as we left. So glad I could get it in there!
I've been searching for this unbeatable version of this song for years, and it was right here under my nose on youtube! Utterly brilliant, beautiful, made my week ;-)
I was 13 in 1987 watching Some Kind of Wonderful in the theater. I LOVED the movie and instantly fell in love with this song when it came on during the closing credits.
In fact this is one more cover of Elvis's version that is already a cover of French 18th century song "Plaisir d'Amour". Not bad that having been said.
Best cover of all.
Best version*
Watched the movie "Some Kind of Wonderful". Such a catchy song. One of the best Cover Songs ever.
The snapper 👌😍
What a great rendition of this song, great vocals and rhythm! Beautiful Irish lass and a great band back in the day. Love it!!
She's English, but whatever.
Unless she's London Irish.
Don't think she plays rugby,though.
Thought she's a Manchester
@@chrishargreaves8016 Born in UK to Irish emigrants? London Irish.
She’s from Northern Ireland
Finally found the original video! I smile whenever I hear this song from SKOW which I saw in the theater back in '87. Thanks to Mr. Hughes for picking such eclectic music to score his movies or I may have never heard this. The entire soundtrack is a treat.
若い頃映画[恋しくて]を観てこの曲を好きになりました。メアリーのキュートさにメロメロでした。
Absolutely beautiful! So raw and uplifting! It reminds me of my high school days! The best version of this song by far!!
I always thought this was the best version ever if this song!!!!!
my granpa boaby loved this song as he played the flute and he passed away i love to listen to this song as a reminder of him ❤
All these years and I finally get to see the group who perform this song!!!
This by Lick The Tins & Dream Academy - "Life In A Northern Town" evoke memories of a great time in my life. I don't ever "wish I could go back" but I was having a lot of fun.
beautiful arrangement of a great song, Some Kind of Wonderful indeed
That's what happens when you combine the magic and soul of the Irish with a beautifully crafted classic!
Love the 🍀🍀 one great cover🤠💚👍
My first heartach even before i fall in love with Watts. Still love this girl, this movie, and how keth and her finally get together in love 🙂
Was in a tiny pub in Dublin.. authentic Irish band, etc. They played this. I went nuts!
Blacks are "authentic" Irish? LOL
Jarrod Miller this band is an English Celtic band
@@thebigloc1 As an Irishman, I am claiming this as Irish tbh
@@garyd3312 'tis Celtic, it sure is. Welsh at the very least, but I always thought the style was patently Irish, and that she had an Irish accent. Like her accent shows deliberately sounding Irish, where English singers generally are hard to differentiate from American singers.
Lucky you, Jarrod!!
Wow, fiddle music, tin whistle and a narrowboat... all my loves in one plays...
I Love this version of the old Elvis song !!!!
I knew i had heard an Irish version of this song from a movie and i got my answer here ‘Some kind of wonderful’ yeah, this is probably the best cover I’ve heard, happy 😊
Die 80er waren die Besten 📼
Ja, obwohl es sich in diesem Fall um eine x-te Version des französischen Liedes Plaisir d'Amour aus dem 18.
Best cover of an already well covered song. Love her husky voice.
I wouldn't call it husky. To me, it sounds tiny.
Some Kind of Wonderful released in theaters on this date...30 years ago!
SUCH a sweet voice ♥️
i just watched "Some kind wonderful" and i liked this song....Btw , nice movie
Some kind of wonderful brought me here..;)love the 80s movies 🎥
I was crying my eyes out everytime I watch Some Kind of Wonderful, especially that scene where Mary is crying near the end
Some Kind of Wonderful brought me here.
Heard this in class today and watched it 3 times since I found it 15 minutes ago
Good for you Sam !! It's a beautiful record .
Great Song..Never saw the video until now..
I think its a great video..remember this was a poor Celtic rock group in the mid '80..Fits the bill perfectly
To tell the truth this is one more cover of Elvis's version that is already a cover of French 18th century song "Plaisir d'Amour". Not bad that having been said.
SNIP SNIP, Georgie Burgess!
you know what id like to do with these dont ya Georgie
"Georgie F***ing Bugress!!! Jesus, the c***'s older than I am!!!!!!" I've seen the film so many time, yet I still crack up laughing at Jimmy's reaction in this scene...
To be fair, I'd be the same were I to be in his situation, but my "Dublin sense of humor" gets the better of me and I laugh my ass off instead of having sympathy for him...
I remember seeing this on Saturday morning tv in the uk in the 80s and loved it but never saw the record in any shops!
Months later I found the 12 inch of Belle of Belfast City by them in the bargain bin and it included a free 7” single of this song! All for 50p
Loved this song from Some Kind of Wonderful, my favorite movie of all time.
The original is awesome, but this version happens to be even better. It makes me cry.
How’s this not on Spotify absolute anthem
It is now!
I have listened to this song several times a day since I first discovered it a few weeks ago. Pure delight. And, yes, I found it from watching Some Kind is Wonderful.
Such a beautiful song ❤
Great cover. Puts something extra and wonderful in the tune.
Have liked this since the 1st listen - a musical treat. Love the flute. Late '80s New Wave
Never liked the original Elvis but, fell in love with this rendition. First heard from the movie Some Kind of Wonderful as well. I bought the CD. If I remember correctly had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it. Couldn't find it back in the 90s here in the US. I think I had to order it from the band itself. Glad they put it up on UA-cam.
I like this and UB40 version as well
LOVE LOVE LOVE her voice
This is my favorite version of this song!!
Love it! My favorite ❤️This song is actually some kind of wonderful 🙌🏽
Some kind of wonderful, brought me here, and yeah quite a catchy cover at that.
Beautiful version ❤️
Beautiful!
It was forgot long time, but I could come at last! Thank you very much.
Loved the movie and bought the soundtrack cassette the next day back when I was in highschool. With the name Keith, I had the biggest crushes on both Mary Stuart and Lea. Ha. I have actually run into Lea a few times in my home town of Santa Barbara and she is really nice.
Love the movie, great soundtrack, and one of my favorite versions...well done
The best version of 'falling in love' so 'uplifting' bravo!!! ❤

Good movie 🎬 and version of this beautiful song 🎵
this is so insanely cool! AND that voice OMG she sings like an angel
Fantastic musicians very original voice with great presence and attitude. Cheers fae the Scottish Highlands.
Just the voice was original. In fact this is one more cover of Elvis's version that is already a cover of French 18th century song "Plaisir d'Amour". Not bad that having been said.
That was pretty AWESOME
I love this version of this song, and I love this video !
Absolutely wonderful

LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anybody else think of the snapper the minute they hear this.?
Surely to god it was written for The Snapper?
No. I think of the film, Some Kind Of Wonderful, which it was in first, before the snapper.
Thanks for posting, I have always loved this song but this is the first time I see the original video.
Me too my friend !!
The drummer is true fire :) Yes, Simon!
This is my favorite version of this song.
What a tune .....😊😊
