Buddy, we seem to be kindred spirits, i upgraded my Titan to the Spirit as soon as i heard it was out, and i love my ship, but yeah, it needs more firepower and its a big target
i got rich in-game, rich enough to buy the Corsair after teaming up with some friends, and it has been a great ship so far for pretty much everything

the roof exit is a game changer in places where your not sure who is lurking in the shadows
I agree. A lot of people think it is pointless but I often use it when I am unsure whether someone might be waiting the shadows then I jump down in a random spot. It can also be useful when EVAing to a ship with an elevator eg 890J/400i/600i

I don't have 1 favorite ship, I have various favorite ships for different tasks. For example; the 135c is now my favorite loot-goblin ship. It can hold 3 of the 2-SCU inventory boxes on top of its already existing 6-SCU of internal inventory, for a total of 12-SCU of space to hold the stuff you loot from outposts and bunkers and such. It's tiny, uses no hydrogen, and lets you get in and out fast with minimal risk. My favorite light fighter, on the other hand, is the Hawk running a fully gimbaled loadout of 4 distortion repeaters and 2 neutron repeaters to shut the target down fast and peck away at them while they can't do anything to stop me lol.
I am a sucker for the 600i, but the corsair is definitely a great ship. My guess is 717
My main problem with the Corsair is that I can't walk past a door without being sucked into the structure of the ship, can't sit at the table without falling through the floor, and so on like that. Have they fixed that in 3.22?

Many forget this ship has 4 ways to exit. Ramp, collar door, elevator up and down. I can carry up to 4 furies at once too. Ursa, fury, storm, roc, hover bikes. It has a lot of utility.
Coming back I have to say this is not "the best solo ship".
Simply cause there is none.
Try solo-hauling with this, or solo-salvaging, or solo-racing.
Not gonna happen.
It's awesome for any form of PVE though unless you are unlucky and get hit in the wings.
Corsair was my dream ship, someone on the chat share me an ERT bounty mission, he helped me too, we made 8 mill auec with gasping wheels, that was a lot of fun, now I have my Corsair and I'm so happy and glad to have it. Next is the M2 !And I will go with the number 23 by the way

Ive not really had anything more expensive than the andromeda more than once and would love the opportunity even if im invested in the grind. Ive been playing for maybe a year now and im quite experienced but would love the chance to get a caterpillar or something mega again.

Ad5b ballistics will shred targets fast right now. And they have a 5km range, but I typically hold off until I get about 2.5 km away with lag pip

New Subcriber, nice commentary on ships I really do love as well. Drake is the best IMHO for a bunch of different roles? Cutlas Black & the Corsair are alot of fun and functional as well? Wish I could make enough moeny to earn a big ship like that, but it is so hard to overcome all the glitches and Lag right now? I want this game to succeed so bad but I am losing my patience after 9 1/2 years.

Corsair is easily my favorite ship in the game.
All Drake ships have a really rugged theme that's all about work that I really appreciate.
The corsair really sends this this concept, it even has a functioning screen chillin' on the right hand side of the floor in the cockpit - something so believable for a "work and rugged" vehicle.
Cutlass has always been in top 5, and so has the Buccaneer. I also love the mule for when I explore caves. Caterpillar will be next purchase but i've rented it a few times for trade runs and it's one Hell of a ship too.
All in all I think drake ships are some of the coolest and best in the game.
This ONLY works druing the current Alpha build. Likely less viable long term when the development moves to Beta and post-Beta. But enjoy it while it lasts.

If a corsair can take out a hammerhead. That just proves It’s going to get balanced to hell. Doubt the future of SC can support it being so powerful

@@MaSparky that’s not how anybody balances two ships. Making one better does not fix the core problem. What I mean is the shields and hull HP of the hammerhead should be so strong that it should take multiple ships to soft death it. And hard death should be extremely hard to do because the ship has heavy protections of major components. Sure you can put a bunch of holes in a ship. But you can’t just blow the entire ship unless you hit specific points that are vulnerable to blowing up. The future of this game can’t be people blowing up ships. Just soft death.
I agree hard death should be harder to accomplish, and yeah you are right about not just making it shoot bigger and better…. BUT it would be awesome.

Corsair is also awesome for ERT since u have a lot of space for the drug boxes and even more when placed loosely. This way u can make multiple millions from only one mission in no time at all. I guess 696

my problem with the Corsair i that when your shield breaks it feels like a paper Mache and once you lose a wing your are done
I used it during Overdrive phase 3. My keyboard was still talking to the google page I was looking something up on, and it’s hard to do battle with no keystrokes. I lost three wings and an engine. Once I stopped spinning, the Ai parked in front of me, shooting. My full ballistic load out made them all go away. I gimped back to the Seraphim, parked in a spot out of the way, eva’d inside and made a claim since I was near broke from buying the Corsair. Gotta love ship insurance. It really seems to be built tough, most of the time.

It's got nice firepower for pilot control, I'll give it.. However it leaves a lot to be desired in other areas for me personally.. It's not real nimble at all from a combat perspective, nor is it that well shielded, so maybe as you did against the large even less nimble ones, ok, but what about a hammerhead covered by some actual combat vessels (not those freelancers that are just multipurpose ships) like the Vanguards or god forbid F-8 Lightnings.. They would eat it alive.. Not real keen on the oddball design of the wings from an aesthetic or flight perspective.. Ok amount of cargo, but not really that much for it's size, but it's not designed for cargo transport so i understand that.. What it IS designed for (so it says) is Exploration, well, I don't see anything in the specs to show that.. all the other exploration ships have sensor arrays and science stations dedicated towards it, and the corsair does not seem to have any of that (unless it's planned for a major rework down the road when Exploration gets brought to the table).. It really seems like a mid range combat ship with large fuel tanks and some extra space that can be used for other things, more than an exploration vessel.. and of course those are really the only loops that it is well suited for.. no salvage or mining capability, except for hand and minor ROC.. No Rescue capability (med bay), or other assistance for ships (except for combat assistance).. So, we are left with Bounty Hunting (well, killing as there is no way to bring a bounty back alive), mid level Cargo Transport (or courier boxes), and this weakly equipped (so it seems) Exploration (once its here).. hardly "any loop you want to play"..
And if we are looking at flight model and firepower as mainstay of the ship, then the Constellation Andromeda has to be factored in as about an even competitor with it's maneuverability and speed being damn near the same as Corsair, and though less guns by a bit (and less controlled by pilot), it sports an absolute arsenal of missiles (4X the amount of firepower).. It's insides and outsides are more aesthetically pleasing and don't look like slapped together scrap.. and it even has a snub fighter to harass the enemy if needed.. as well as a larger cargo capacity if you want to go that route.. Or even the Aquila that is less missiles than Andromeda, but sports a Full Array of sensors and stations for exploration activity (hell one of the manned turrets IS a manned sensor sweeping unit)..
Not saying that corsair is not a good ship, just pointing out these things as you label it "The Best Solo Ship in Star Citizen", and i can't really agree with that.. sorry.. Best for certain things maybe, but again all you seem to be pointing towards is the Bounty Hunting route.. Best in game should be available for more gameplay loops as well, because you can get other ships to do specific loops better for them all.. And other ships (like i pointed out) for multirole on a similar balance as the Corsair, but most much better decked out, so to speak.. Personally i love the Vanguard Harbinger for Bounty Hunting, but that's just me (missed my chance to grab a Lightning as i was away at the time).. ;) Frankly, I don't believe that you CAN label one ship as Best in game for solo play, as there are too many loops to cover with a single vessel, and too many great solo playable ships to DO those loops, This is why people design small fleets.. :) And as for using it as a "Daytripper" there are many more suitable cheaper ships to tool around in for daily driving that aren't so large (like driving a Semi-Tractor to and from work and shopping).. hehehehee p.s. i missed the contest details but judging from what i am seeing i'll throw my lot in with 969.. ;)
Been gunning for a Corsair for a couple of weeks, only 8 weeks in game total. Nearly made a million. Damn, it's slow progress! Only 2.75 or something million to go. Did I nearly buy it outright? O yes, but so far, I'm hanging in there. Great video, subbed.

I'm with the people who like the MSR as a daily, but I tend to switch between the MSR, Nomad, and Warden. frequently. I'm bad at combat, but also dislike flying "larger" ships.

I must say i love the Corsair myself. I have only one thing to say about the guns: don't use Lightsrikes.
I use the ballistic cannons and have good results with AD4B and AD5B ballistic gattlings too. Disadvantage, limited ammo. Huge advantage, the projectiles penetrate shields. You deliver damage and take out ships with the shields partially intact.
Now if you want to use lasercannons, i would suggest the Onmiskies. Except for being a good amount less expensive, there is one really important thing to note: the Lightstrike V has 550 HP, the Onmisky XV has 2640 HP. That is the same HP as the M7A, but for 20k less aUEC. The stats are identical.
One thing:
There seems to be a bug. If you lose one gun (and again, LS has only 550 HP) you pay full price for repair, without the gun being replaced. So if you lose a gun: take everything out of the ships inventory into local, fly naked and selfdestruct.

Corsair is a wonderful ship, although I am confused when Drake ad's it as an exploration ship. Maybe they mean exploring other people's cargo? Although I haven't tried using canons on this ship, I do recommend using AD5B and AD4B gatling guns. Those weapons just melt everything.
