Okay I know this review is at least 4 years old but I just re watched The Birdcage recently and I just now re watched your review and I have to agree with it I love this movie and it's one that you can go to no matter where it's at in and watch . My favorite part is with Nathan Lane in the morning walking through the marketplace waving to people and order the cake for his little piglet. That just one and this movie is filled with those .... And it is tragic not to have Robin Williams in this world anymore.
I love how they like and interact with the comments. It just shows how much they really care about their viewers, and it makes me love their content even more.
There is a brief kiss between Armand and Albert. When Albert gets home from shopping and they are all in the kitchen, he goes and kisses Armond and he says, “oh! That beard!” 😂❤️
At the age of 6, I did not have the emotional capacity to understand what was going on in this movie but my older straight brother said I would love it....it all makes sense now. #FamilyKnows
This film just doesn't get the recognition it fully deserves. My fave Robin Williams and Nathan Lane movie. Val and Barb were the real antagonists imo.
Fun fact: one of my uncles was an extra in the wedding scene at the end of this movie! I always used to think of it as that one movie he was in the background of but now that I'm older I love it so much.
So just when I thought this movie couldn't get any better, right at the beginning of the movie as they zoom into the Birdcage, the marquee it reads: "Starina and the Goldman Girls" I literally spit out my wine. The sheer attention to detail makes this movie on of the greats! Love this retro review and I love this film!
Have either of you seen Gods Own Country? It's a gay movie set in modern Yorkshire with two very cute actors and doesn't end in tragedy or AIDs. Highly recommend on Netflix.
I’ve seen this movie legitimately hundreds of times and I consistently recommend it to people like once a week, it’s one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time. I’m so glad you guys got around to this one, your fondness for this movie was so relatable, and you didn’t miss a thing. THANK YOU MOVIEBITCHES!!!
My new weekend routine: 1. Search moviebitches reviews. 2. Watch fabulous movies I haven't seen ever or in a while 3. Immediately follow with the review. 4. Repeat. Love you guys!
This just may be the BEST MOVIE BITCHES REVIEW EVERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! I literally have tears from laughing continuously this ENTIRE video!!! This is EVERYTHING!!!!! Bravo! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😂😂😂
Totally on-board for you you guys to reteo-review The Producers, but I feel the only way to do it justice is if you review both the original and remake in the same video! Like a Mummy 1 + 2 review, but with The Producers! Also, for next pride you guys should totally review Kinky Boots (the movie). I finally saw it on TV the other day and it was really sweet!
Great review! I first saw this movie in the theater when I was 12. Loved it! I didn't know at the time what gay was but I remember thinking that two men being together was fabulous and should be a thing. Lol I even wanted to go to college in Miami just so I could go to wonderful drag shows like in the movie.
thank you for doing this movie justice. I really love that you spent such a long time discussing it. It means a lot to me because it's literally my favorite movie of all time
Rewatching this movie, as Boyle in Brooklyn 99 would say, "gave me a Diane Wiest infection", and I desperately want Agador's "straight looking" shirt. Your review has made the movie even better, so now I'm going to go and watch it AGAIN. And again, and again, and again.
I know I’m late to this party, but I found you guys recently and I was so happy to see you review one of my favorite movies of all time! I won’t lie, for some of these quoted lines, it’s a toss up for whether I like your impression or the actual line in the movie more. This is everything for me.
I absolutely love this film! Used to watch it so much with my parents when I was a kid, most of the jokes just completely flying over my head, but even then I thought it was the most fabulous
Rewatching on a random friday night and still fucking dying laughing. I tricked my dad into buying this movie at "second spin" on VHS because he had no idea what it was about. Instantly one of my favorites at like 7 years old haha. The "how 'bout them Dolphins?!" part gets me every single time. 😂😂😂
I adore this movie! You guys are like me, my mum and my brother - quoting everything throughout (even if you’re talking about something unrelated!) the “Fosse, Fosse, Fosse! Martha Graham, Martha Graham!” Etc “but you keep it all inside.” Is ffffing iconic!! Glad you love this gem as much as us ❤️❤️❤️
This is a super good reveiw and this is very fun 💖 I love to watch a channel being so forward and proud of the LGBT+ community in a healthy way! I love and support y'all so much 💞💖😄
Holy Crap. I remember after the first time I watched The Birdcage I felt really sad because I Could never again watch The Birdcage for the first time. It's great every time, but when you don't know what's coming, holy crap.
Wow! I thought I loved your reviews of terrible movies (Gods of Egypt) but now I want your reviews of the best movies ever - thanks for Clue, Clueless, and this. I. Am. So. Happy.
You two need to take a business trip to go watch La Cage the Musical.. I mean you can't beat this cast buy the musical numbers left me so emotional and it was just as fun!
This review is almost a year old at the time I’m writing this and that’s giving me an existential crisis. I could’ve sworn it came out only a couple months ago 😩😳
When I worked telemarketing for Columbia House, I would sell this movie to old men in Texas on Robin Williams name alone. So with all the the army movies they ordered they would get this movie they would never watch in a million years.
I do believe you two and I have a cosmic bond 😂Just last week I saw the musical on stage and it was soooo good. Definitely, one of my favorite movie and musical of all times
10,10,10 across the board for the fabulous review of one of the best comedy movie ever. Thanks for the marvellous time on Saturday night here in Bulgaria Europe.
Just to let Avaryl know, in case you havent heard, there is a new reality show coming later this summer. It is Camp Wannakiki. A group of queens competing in summer camp challenges.
Retro Review: "Walk Like a Man" with Howie Mandel, Christopher Lloyd, Colleen Camp, and the incomparable, Cloris Leachman. If you haven't seen it, no need for a review; just watch it. I know you guys would LOVE it. (Avaryl especially.) Keep up the great work! I love your channel: great movie choices, AND Drag Race. It's like you know me. Also, agreed! "The Birdcage" is one of the (if not the) greatest movies ever made!
I just recently remembered this film, "Mirror Mirror", the Snow White retelling starring Lily Collins. I remember finding the film fabulous when I first watched it but IMBD gives it 5.6 out of 10, so I wondered what you would think of it. It's got Armie Hammer, Julia Roberts, several makeover scenes, what more could you want!?
They do kiss. When Albert comes back from grocery shopping into the kitchen. It is a peck but a kiss. Albert even makes a comment about Armand's facial hair.
My friends and I quote this movie all the time. It is one of a few movies that I will always watch. I own it but when it's on TV I always stop to watch it.
I was lucky enough to see Nathan Lane in A Funny Thing in middle school (because that's appropriate) and it was one of the greatest performances I've ever seen. Also he's on Broadway right now playing Roy Cohen in Angels and he is fabulously evil.
Maybe it was all the talk about "piercing the toast," but I think a (Movie) Bitches Bread recipe would go well with Avaryl's very good jam :P Honestly wouldn't be mad about Movie Bitches Cook Book- with of course plenty of drinks that would make Jessica Wild say "I love that drink!"
I just watched The Birdcage for the 1000 time, watched this review for the 100th time and now I'm going to watch The Birdcage again. Such a great movie! I keep the DVD in the player so I'm ready to push play whenever I want!
Can we just talk about how the actual antagonist of the movie is that ungrateful son of theirs?
Agree!!
Okay I know this review is at least 4 years old but I just re watched The Birdcage recently and I just now re watched your review and I have to agree with it I love this movie and it's one that you can go to no matter where it's at in and watch . Diane Weist and Catherine O'Hara should have a supercut of them saying, "Kevin" in many different exasperated ways.
xingcat Intercut with shots from "We Need To Talk About Kevin"
OMG, that would suddenly go VERY VERY DARK. I kind of loooove it.
Lol
Nathan Lane and Hank Azaria killed it.
My favorite line: "It's like riding a frantic horse towards a burning barn"
At the age of 6, I did not have the emotional capacity to understand what was going on in this movie but my older straight brother said I would love it....it all makes sense now. #FamilyKnows
Nathan Lane in that movie is everything. Life-changing shit.
Speaking of Diane Weist you should retro review Practical Magic!
Drew Kingsbury YES
And The Lost Boys
This review is almost as long as the movie and I am NOT mad about it! :P
I forgot to mention that every time I hear "We Are Family" I still hear Gene Hackman mumbling in my head. I even do it out loud sometimes.
This movie is everything. Hank Azaria has me crying every time. And how bout those Dolphins?!
The Birdcage is a national treasure and should be watched often and always.
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
INTERNATIONAL

Andrew Bodie that movie is so good.

You guys don’t know what a pleasure it was to see this after that day I had at work
Totally on-board for you you guys to reteo-review The Producers, but I feel the only way to do it justice is if you review both the original and remake in the same video! Like a Mummy 1 + 2 review, but with The Producers!

an hour and 20 mins long review of this movie is right. feels right.
Holy shit this is an hour and 18 minutes of YAS
I can't stop replaying this review. Your enjoyment of the movie is contagious!
Jesus Christ, your edits are legendary. The side by side of John Wayne and Albert made me do my very rare high pitched cackle.
That laugh that Nathan Lane does in drag reminds me of Tom Hulce in Amadeus
I see you are a man of culture as well
Y'all have gotten rapid pace with content releasing. Loves it. VH1/Drag Race 2018 is shook.
Occasionally ‘how bout those Dolphins?’ pops into my head, and then I have to come straight here.
The opening shot always remind me of Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, which I hope and pray will be a future RetroReview.
having a fabulous retroreview marathon, one of my fav reviews. keep it up guys, excited to see what’s next!
Okay it’s more understated but when Hackman says “I need my candy” I die
thank you for doing this movie justice. I really love that you spent such a long time discussing it. It means a lot to me because it's literally my favorite movie of all time
OMG. are u serious?? I love you two. I really needed this this morning. I grew up in Miami in the 90s and this movie is MY LIFE!!!
OMFG!!!!! SATURDAY IS WORTH LIVING NOW. I swear yall are the best

Just found you guys and I love this! Funny but knowledgeable commentary! *subscribing

I can't watch this without rewatching the birdcage. In the same way I return here whenever I watch the birdcage.
I just watched this movie for the first time last night, and I'm so glad to see you did a review!
I adore this movie! You guys are like me, my mum and my brother - quoting everything throughout (even if you’re talking about something unrelated!) the “Fosse, Fosse, Fosse! “Nancy Drew and the Secret of the Burning Candle” that’s one for the book club
i was just surprised you hadn't reviewed this classic before now. Loved every minute of the movie and your review!
I had to watch this twice cos it was so fabulous.
Sonny Skye me too!! I remember watching this movie on vhs on repeat when i was a kid, me and my little brother used to laugh our asses off EVERYTIME
You REALLY need to do Girls Will Be Girls with Coco Peru and Varla Jean Merman. Pure drag camp hilarity!!
This is a super good reveiw and this is very fun 💖 I love to watch a channel being so forward and proud of the LGBT+ community in a healthy way! I love and support y'all so much 💞💖😄
My mom literally asks me for her pirin because of this movie. 😂
waiting for "how bout those dolphins?" on a tshirt with "screaming queen" on the back in your merch store
Holy Crap. I remember after the first time I watched The Birdcage I felt really sad because I Could never again watch The Birdcage for the first time. It's great every time, but when you don't know what's coming, holy crap.
I love how almost an hour into this video you havent even gotten to the best part of the movie!! thats why i love you both!
An hour long review of one of my favorite films by two of my favorite people??? Perfection.
Love, love, love this movie! Your review is great and makes me also want a retro review of Moonstruck and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
This movie is so funny. It makes me laugh like an asthmatic seal.
On the list of my top 20 favorite movies OF ALL TIME. Thanks for the review!
I just got to see Nathan in Angels In America, and he was absolutely brilliant! Love this.
Wow! I thought I loved your reviews of terrible movies (Gods of Egypt) but now I want your reviews of the best movies ever - thanks for Clue, Clueless, and this. I. Am. So. Happy.
I LITERALLY SCREAMED when this notification came up! Ahhhh!! Robin Williams ❤️

Thanks to this hilariously enjoyable review, I have an appreciation for the movie.
I do believe you two and I have a cosmic bond 😂Just last week I saw the musical on stage and it was soooo good. Definitely, one of my favorite movie and musical of all times

I watched anther movie because of MovieBitches, thank you, you are the best!
YOU FINALLY REVIEWED THIS YES this movie is a fucking gem
What is this?! Such a lovely surprise! I guess my Saturday morning tasks will be suspended a bit.
They do kiss. When Albert comes back from grocery shopping into the kitchen. It is a peck but a kiss. Albert even makes a comment about Armand's facial hair.

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS = Diane Wiest ! (possible winter time retro review ?)
Happy Pride Moviebitches!
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Thanks for another fabulous review 😘
I've watched this review like a dozen times. But when the schmecken beckons...
Speaking of Diane Wiest, how about a retro review of The Lost Boys?
It really has something for everyone! :D
You're a vampire, Michael! My own brother, a goddamn, shit-sucking vampire. Well, you wait 'till mom finds out, buddy!
I just watched The Birdcage for the 1000 time, watched this review for the 100th time and now I'm going to watch The Birdcage again. Such a great movie! I keep the DVD in the player so I'm ready to push play whenever I want!
YES I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REVIEW FOR SO LONG!!!!!!
This movie was everything to me when I was 11 years old and my dad took me to see it in the theaters. Absolutely *love* this movie.
This movie! I have seen it 800-900 times also. My husband and I quote it constantly. Happy Pride!! Barbi-rah
I was shocked that you guys didn’t catch Gene Hackman’s shockingly accurate portrayal of Charlie Hides’ lip sync performance!!!
I literally stopped what I was doing and watched this. I made an hour in my life, grabbed some pink moscato, and lived my best life.
You guys made me laugh so much with your reenactments. :D
