Long due follow up on the my custom sleeping/storage platform. Chose to paint the rear platform with a black bed liner as it can keep the wood protected a lot longer. Convert the wood support frame with 2020 aluminum t slot aluminum extrusion for durability in the long run. Though not fully completed, this provides me a better visualization of what needs to be done next. Stay tuned for the next part as I convert the sleeping platform support into aluminum.

Wow! Awesome job! I can't wait to see the finished product. It would be cool to know the weight and cost difference between the plywood supports compared to the aluminum at the end of the project. Cheers.
Thanks for the idea!
Nice video. What size of the Aluminium t slots you use in centimeters and what size of actual slot for bolt is? Thanks
Great idea and video! Can’t wait to see it all come together. Looking to do something similar in my JK. Did you happen to take the dimensions for the rear platform with the cubby hole?
The rear platform is 33' x 37.5', depends on which JKU version you have, mine has the subwoofer on the passenger side. Cubby hole is 15' x 10'. Thanks for watching and all best to your build. Cheers!
@@W1LDCH1LD1 I have the same version jku as you and also don’t want to get rid of my side subwoofer. Appreciate the response!
Not that cold, -12c. That's good weather to sleep in car
its only cold when you wear shorts and tank top doing your brakes at midnight haha.
Can you add links for all materials and parts in the description so we can duplicate your build?
Hey Justin, I picked up the aluminum extrusion from quickshop.rmmc.net/ . I ordered the 1010 extrusion and the nuts and bolts from Amazon.
