These longer 20+min vids are really nice. Love the camping vids✌️I think some sound deadening on the roof and the floor would help to keep the heat in during winters and to keep the heat out during summers.
I’d also recommend getting a clear tint over the rear windows. I know when you got it tinted your mate said it “comes tinted” from factory - it’s not tint it is just a colour in the glass so you don’t get the heat retaining properties that tint has. Trust me - you’ll notice the difference!
Nice dude!! I built out my 4xe a lot like this. I pulled the back seats out completely and built a plywood deck to lay flat. I've got a 52qt cooler for food storage, a Jackery battery pack with solar panles to power my electronics, a blackstone griddle for cooking, and a solo stove for campfires anywhere I go. I've got storage under the plywood deck and seats for clothes, dry food, window curtains, etc and an LED string of lights around the bars for light. I've spent about 10 nights in it, and it works great! I'll definitely watch your channel for more camping content
Hi Robbie, followed the channel for a while now and love the camping videos! I convert campervans in the UK and would recommend looking into a 100ah lithium leisure battery, the performance with solar is amazing and battery life is way better! (30-50% more usable capacity over a standard lead acid). Also worth looking at MPPT charge controllers and a slightly bigger panel for charge efficency, also look for a dc-dc split charge system that will charge the liesure battery when the starter battery reaches a certain voltage (Does not allow drain to starter battery). Finally worth having a 120v (240v hear in uk) socket hidden under sideskirt or at rear so you can plug in and charge when at home. Hope some of these pointers help, advise we usually give to customers and use ourself when building camper electrical systems, any questions drop me a message, more than happy to help!!
Definitely going to need to run a bigger panel, try for atleast a 100watt. Check out renogy for a good priced and quality panel. You may also want to run a dc2dc charger that way when driving it'll charge the leisure battery.
I have a 2014 jk , I bought window covers for privacy/weather control. I also bought these back window vents for air flow and condensation reduction. I have a jackery power station that I use for a heating pad at night but I love the auxiliary batter tub idea. I’ll have to integrate that into my set up. I have a twin inflatable mattress but it’s quite big and doesn’t leave a whole lot of space for my other gear. Great ideas to help play around with. Thanks for the ideas
A lot of people on jeeps because of that weird gap in between the seat and the cargo space is they take rear seats out entirely and build a platform for the back there so it’s level, and with your setup there just make a notch for your boxes/ cooler. Also i think you have it right there but at least on my xterra I have more room on passenger side than the driver side for sleeping
Love the longer videos especially the ones that in my area of expertise I am a 12V accessory fitter / auto electrician defiantly an awesome set up my only concern is the battery, It looks like a deep cycle lead acid which the only issue is they can vent gases (hydrogen sulfide gas) which is flammable and not very good to breath in, I would recommend a AGM/GEL battery as they are dry, added benefit is they last longer and cycle better also another thing is to make sure the solar panel is regulated most 12v solar panels put out 18V unregulated which would fry the battery. once again love the videos and stay committed.
If the battery is In a sealed box are there still issues with gasses assuming there is lots of room around it like there is in the box that robbie has?
This is so sick. I love camping stuff combined with car stuff, I wish I could do both more myself! A UA-camr I watch named 'Mav' camps in the (covered) bed of his f150, and used the buddy heater too, it works well in that size of space.
Loving these longer videos, especially the camping stuff. It’s really made me want to finally start using my car for what I bought it for about 4 years ago and brought my interest back to wanting to camp and off-road. Keep up the amazing work!
One of the cool thing about UA-cam is that we have a plethora of help and inspiration for our hobbies and adventures. Thanks. Now that you have had the set up for awhile, any updates?
Hey Robbie. I'd recommend a Solar Generator for you off grid power needs. Like a Jackery or Bluetti, lithium battery inside with built in power invertor and outputs. It's what all the overland or van life people are using.
Yo Robbie!! Instead of folding your air-mattress, push the seat forward all the way and lean it forward, just pull the mattress up a bit and you’ll be golden!
You can get an isolator and use some Anderson plugs for a quick disconnect to be able to charge that battery off your Jeep's charging system without risking drawing down the starting battery
You should really try hammock camping. It is so much more comfortable compared to a tent or air .mattress, they are super small and easy to stuff anywhere. There are also hitch base hammock swings in the even you are at an area with no trees.
Robbie you have to look into the Milwaukee packout kits I swear you’ll won’t regret it for storage uses tbh it’s a little expensive but worth it look into it trust
Use black out curtains, just cut them to size and use strong magnets to hold them in place, works like a gem in my wrangler. How did you mount the tablet?
HI ROBBIE, ALL THE WAY FROM AUSTRALIA. ID LIKE TO SUGGEST , EVEN THOUGH YOUR RECOVERY GEAR FITS NICELY IN THAT LITTLE NOOK I SUGGEST LEAVING IT SOMEWHERE EASIER TO ACESS AT ALOT OF THE TIME WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST YOU EITHER CANT OPEN THAT DOOR , TAILGATE ECT, MOVE STUFF TO GET TO IT BECAUSE YOUR IN A AWKWARD POSITION , I KEEP MINE UNDER THE PASSANGER SEAT IN A CANVAS BAG STRAPPED TO THE UNDER SIDE OF THE SEAT , A FIRE extinguisher TOO
I have the same Battery booster as you. Bought a Swiss Army nylon shaving/toiletry bag at Winners and store it and cables in there. Fits nicely in the groove next to roll bar in back hatch above wheel well :)
I just got around to watching this. A recommendation for the tablet mount, QuadLock Car Mount with a universal stick on attachment. Super nice phone/tablet mount
Don't know if you can get them in Canada but an opus air camper would be ideal. I first got a look at one on UA-cam being dragged around Australia on some insane off road tracks and I've been dragging mine around for 2 years and it's amazing for every situation
I've seen other people going off grid or campers using marine deep cycle batteries for power. I'm no expert but from what I understand it's not great to discharge too much those regular car batteries. There are some batteries that can be discharged and recharged without losing too much capacity. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
If you wanted to take out all the seats leave the drivers seat put the rails that they slide on go all the way back and put them in the floor so the rails arnt in the way and you got so much more room
Love seeing these videos, my gf and I have been going to a couple of Ontario provincial parks this winter and camping, so interested in seeing the camping videos 😊
I love your content, keep doing whatever suits you best, it's all good for me! You could even do a video of you painting a trash can and I'd be interested 😂 You rock seriously!
Awesome glad to see you got some of the stuff I recommended still don't see the military artic sleeping bag it will be your best investment over anything else you purchased. Unless you have a gel battery you will be okay. Other batteries need venting do to acid. So you could use yellow top and red top batteries which princess auto sells. And with the buddy heater roll down your windows a crack so you don't die.
@@RobbieFerreira that’s good the military ones are good to -50 plus I used to winter camp often from Boy Scouts sleeping in a lento to just last year I spent three weeks camping in my suv. I was the one warm and sleeping in my undies while everyone else froze as a Boy Scout.
I have used the mr heaters inside a vehicle while sleeping.. I wake up and its off. The sensor works really well for low oxegen but to keep it on I had to crack a window. Then it stayed on until the propane was empty. Used it for 2 years so far,
Hey what did you use in the gap between the front row and back row to keep your bed from folding into the floorboard. I've been looking for a solution for that
Loving the videos dude, I saw the packaging on the solar panel and I'm curiouos, living in Canada do you also speak French, a little bit, or is like English all the time there?
Enjoying the Jeep content, nice change from the car building, which you can't do much with due to all the snow you have! How's Chris getting on since he went back to his old job?
RENOGY IS A GREAT AFFORDABLE BRAND FOR 12VOLT GEAR EG BATTERYS CHARGERS ECT... ITS ALL PLUG AND PLAY AND SIMPLE, LITHIUM IS YOUR BEST BET TOO , LIGHT WEIGHT AND VERY VERSATILE / LONG LASTING
New suscriber 🙌 I love your content ..I got a lot catching up but I'll get it done ✔️ I own a jeep same color as yours but 2 door and I needed videos like yours to get ideas 💡 thanks for sharing everything with us 🙌🙌
Hi Robbie. Just some constructive critism. A little less waffling and repeating otherwise you have the makings of a good videographer anc im sure you will go far. All the best from London, UK.
This is not a hate comment but I used to not be able to wait until you posted another video but I’ve stopped watching cause lately it’s just been jeep content and I feel like most people don’t care about jeeps at all unless they are a jeep owner themselves and maybe that’s just my opinion. Can’t wait to see more content other than jeep content.
Hey Robbie, what member content are you making right now? I've wanted to become a member for the last couple years now but have been tight on money. (Due to ya know what)

love the 18+ min vids, maybe have the heater lower so when hot air does rise the fan will be able to disperse it back down
that's my thoughts! I think I did say that, but might have cut it out of the video cause it was already way to long ahaha

Just Crack a window for ventilation when having the heater on and you are good to go. Use one when camping the back of the truck, works great.
I like the way the Jeep handled the snow.
That buddy heater has a emergency shutoff for carbon dioxide. We use it in our tents and no problems. Awesome in the cargo camper .

You should see if a company like Jackery could sponsor you so you won't need to sleep next to a car battery.
nice clean and organized camping set up with plenty of room to spare and add to down the road.

Those exact Plano cases are super popular in the Overland community they make great cases for inside the vehicle to organize gear and clothes and food
We just camped in our little Ford Escape last weekend and I will say… The roof rack is a LIFE CHANGER, stoked w these videos

Totally made this comment before solar charge controller was mentioned :)

U should try getting a roof rack and a jeep sleep mattress I have one and trust me u will sleep like a king I been camping on my jeep and I love it

As a fellow jeeper myself, I've really been enjoying all the jeep content you've been putting out lately. Maybe ill catch you on the trails one day

I can’t imagine winter camping without my mr buddy heater. However my roof top tent has built in vents so I don’t have to worry about anything
It's pricey but you need the jackery solar generator. It'd do everything you need for power.
Yo Robbie!! Instead of folding your air-mattress, push the seat forward all the way and lean it forward, just pull the mattress up a bit and you’ll be golden!
Just started the video and I already have garage-envy.

You can get a 30w solar panel for your hood and also get the Boom Mat headliner it's the thickest for insulation, way better than hotheads
I love when you hold the camera upside-down😂😂
Nice!! We need to see a trailer tour. Always wondered how those wind up ones worked 😂
Robbie you have to look into the Milwaukee packout kits I swear you’ll won’t regret it for storage uses tbh it’s a little expensive but worth it look into it trust

Goose Gear makes a super nice tailgate table that tucks away when not in use

You should get a BMS for that battery so that you can check the charge level
Be careful with the power inverter, it needs air flow to stay cool
I just got around to watching this. A recommendation for the tablet mount, QuadLock Car Mount with a universal stick on attachment. Super nice phone/tablet mount
I'm back finally i will watch once I get better service winds are insane here
Am I the only one getting Ben 10 grandpa max truck vibe 😅, anyways awesome video as always, great to see you back. Much Love ❤️
If you are going to use the propane heater please get a carbon monoxide detecter! And crack a window.
Letsss gooo! Spring solo fishing/camping vlogs?
I might just have to!
Don't know if you can get them in Canada but an opus air camper would be ideal. I first got a look at one on UA-cam being dragged around Australia on some insane off road tracks and I've been dragging mine around for 2 years and it's amazing for every situation
Absolutely loving these videos
Robbie I'm loving the longer vids!
Lets goo! always stocked to see a new Robbie video!
Said it last time, glad to have you back! :D
Hey Robbie look into building a square drop trailer (tear drop) I’ve seen some sick off road styles could make for some different content for ya also
You want some ventilation for the battery, buildup can happen cause explosive battery be really really smelly no good
pro tip for lights: orange/red light repels most bugs where as white will attract them
facts, my camper has yellow (maybe orange idk I'm color blind) everywhere for the reason!
@@RobbieFerreira nice!
@@RobbieFerreira looks yellow to me in previous video
Any thoughts on recovery gear purchase and storage?
I love this handy trunk

I would be careful using that heater in an enclosed vehicle. Might need some sort of ventilation. I believe those types of heaters vent co2
Love seeing these videos, my gf and I have been going to a couple of Ontario provincial parks this winter and camping, so interested in seeing the camping videos 😊
Definitely fine sleeping next to the battery. but, make sure you keep your promise with the carbon monoxide sensor 😂
Love the camp one bag you should promote it !!! LoL
I love your content, keep doing whatever suits you best, it's all good for me! You could even do a video of you painting a trash can and I'd be interested 😂 You rock seriously!
Mr Buddy heaters the worst you could buy. A diesel heater is the only way to go.

Robbie you should look at getting a jackery
Sometimes thoes standup heaters have a built in carbonmonoxide sensor thatll sense the amount in the room and auto shut off if too much
Have you bulked up? How much do you weigh now?
I have used the mr heaters inside a vehicle while sleeping.. I wake up and its off. The sensor works really well for low oxegen but to keep it on I had to crack a window. Then it stayed on until the propane was empty. Used it for 2 years so far,
They have pads to Insulate the top
You might want to consider switching to decaf or limit yourself down to only one Red Bull
We use them. Excellent.
Don’t get me wrong I love the jeep videos and the jeep but I haven’t seen a slice of car content in 3 months😭
At the end lmao : there is still a lot of space for activities... I know where you are going with that 😂
Are you concerned about carbon monoxide? Is it a propane heater
Loving the camping content 🔥

How do you get out of the jeep? I can’t figure out how to open the tailgate from the inside.
Nice camping videos, i love the ones that mav does he has great ideas and does challanged with em maybe you can do something similar
Hi Robbie, Im 6,6 ft tall. Do you think I will fit there for sleeping if I throw out the back seats? :) greetings from Czech Republic :))
That brand and what size are the black totes??????
New suscriber 🙌 I love your content ..I got a lot catching up but I'll get it done ✔️

You need an axillary battery to use for all your camping gear
Hi Robbie. Just some constructive critism. A little less waffling and repeating otherwise you have the makings of a good videographer anc im sure you will go far. All the best from London, UK.
Could you please post a link for the battery charging deal?
You should get a diesel heater or a propane heater but not the one you have got they can set the items round it on fire
If you looking at charging a laptop look for a dc to dc converter as the current system would waste lots of power though unnecessary conversion
He’s slowly becoming van life
Is there a link to the tablet and the mount?
Swap that blue box instead of buying small new box... of course if the blue box is smaller
