For my experience with Hockerty , my shipment arrived just 2 days befote the expected date of arrival
there's Blake method, which tends to be a bad construction method, and there's Rapid Blake, which is much closer to Goodyear welt in solidity and is used by most Italian manufacturers that prefer the slender silhouette of Rapid Blake to the chunkier Goodyear welt. Scarosso and Velasca p. ex. use Rapid Blake construction.
I also like the silhouette of blake stitched shoes, but I prefer the sturdiness of a goodyear welted pair. :-)

"kinda shiny" leather is usually a bad sign as it indicates polyacryl has been applied to leather to hide imperfections, it's sometimes referred to as brushed leather. Good shoemakers in this price range will never sell you polished shoes, they will arrive unconditioned and unpolished as manual labour would add to costs

@@toobalkain in general, everything you said. polished shoes, or even lacquered shoes are a style option, not a technique to hide imperfections smh 🙄
it is obvious when the shoes are low quality already before analyzing the leather imperfections. when you talk made to measure shoes, it is a different standard and if they use low quality leathers their business goes down the drain. i have worked with several companies so far and i know the statistics and logistic, and your point doesnt fit in parallel to what i know as well
@@quarlmephystodot2201 you don't know the first thing about leather, look up polished leather, anyone in the industry will tell you the same, it's poor quality and it's polished to hide imperfections, patent leather is a completely different thing. And I'm not talking bespoke shoes, outside some Italian brands punching above their weight like Officine Creative you won't find polished leather in any $300+ range brand but you will find it in cheaper models with cca. $200 brands like Scarosso, Velasca and the like.
Carmina is a ver good Shoe Brand the price is very cheap or the Quality is perfect ,Santoni is good very Expensive or Berwick is okey or is very cheap,the Quality is Medium.And Crockett and Jones have a very good Quality and this are Expensive.
Carmina is great, I visited their shop in Palma de Mallorca a couple of times. TLB Mallorca is another phenomenal brand from the island. :-)

Good question! The quality is really decent indeed, but there are some other services in the low price range I will try out before making a final statement about this. :-)

I don't think MTM even exists for shoes, it seems to be either RTW or bespoke. TLB Mallorca has a choice of 4 widths as part of customization but that's it, it's not like you can customize for instep size or only get a wider front.
Indeed, I have not found a 'real' made to measure pair of shoes, yet. Bespoke is way too expensive for me, so I'm gonna stick to the ready to wear options available.
Hello, the video on the Hockerty site of the size measurement is not very clear,
you cannot clearly see the outline of the heel and where the tip of the pencil must fall because the thickness of the pen or pencil can change the measurement.
Regarding the choice of leather, what is the quir that we receive if we do not choose any? the leather of the model’s home page?

The leather seems to have a shiny acrylic finish, am I seeing it right?
Yes, that describes it pretty well. The leather is called "Dario" on Hockerty and it's in the category "Flora Leather".

Hockerty is an absolutely HORRIBLE brand, i ordered shoes once, they came so damaged i couldnt even hide it, then they made me PAY for returning them to send me a new pair that came AS DAMAGED AND MORE than before, very bad customer service and very low quality stuff
