I don't know why people say, that the Glock 26 isn't as accurate as the g19. I hit steel at a 100 yards away with my Glock 26. It's very accurate. Glock 26 best subcompact ever.
I have been carrying Glock pistols since 1998. The G26 has been my EDC for the past 15 years. With more than 40 years of gun experience, and having owned many brands, from Sig, FN, Springfield, Beretta, Kimber, you name it, Glock gets my vote every time. I feel completely confident wearing my G26 on a daily basis, and the G17 in my nightstand drawer, dressed with a Trijicon RMR and light. Good video buddy, thanks.
I just bought a G26. Have you had the same one for 15 years? I am relatively new to guns (~3 years) Do they really last that long and will I be able to carry my gen 5 for 15+ years? I'm sorry if it's a dumb question
Yeah great combo. I got my 17 for my nightstand gun about a year ago. And just now picked up my 26 for concealed carry. Both Gen 3 (California special) which I actually like a lot. And I don’t know what it is about my Gen 3s but the triggers are actually very good - both have a consistent hard wall and clean crisp 5-6lb break with zero creep, which is exactly how I want them. The safety blades kinda suck but let ya know you’re pulling the trigger giving exceptional tactile feedback.
@@joerogan3506 I think round count and usage is a better gauge for pistol life than time. I have 30 yr old Taurus in .45acp that’s still going strong. And Glocks have been known to last 10s of thousands of rounds. Regular cleaning and maintenance are key - and changing out parts as they wear (recoil rod/spring, barrel, etc - but those are gonna be good for several thousand rounds typically). Your magazines will likely need replacing before anything if you shoot it enough.
Totally agree with you, I have the same setup. Two things to add is: 1) The ability to break the gun down completely and replace any part yourself. 2) The ability to get any part needed from multiple vendors quickly. This along with your points make this a fantastic “survival” gun, never needs to go to a gun shop.
I bought my Glock 26 back in 1995 and it probably has 15k (or more) rounds through it. I maybe cleaned it once a year. It was my only EDC gun for at least 20 years. The gun's only malfunction was an FTF using my own crappy hand loads. With a ghost 3.5 connector and all those rounds the trigger is about as smooth as can be without an expensive upgrade. My Gen 5 G19 and my Gen 4 G41 had the same trigger treatment and neither shoot as nice. i have always used the Pearce grip and it remains my primary choice in the EDC rotation. I have numerous other carry guns for all styles of dress and locale but this one is dear to my heart.
I have a M&p shield plus, and my brother have a glock 26. I took both guns to the range and put 100 round through each gun. The glock 26 has noticeable less recoil and was easier to shoot for a beginner.
Great video of a very underrated gun. This gun is the definition of versatility. If you buy this gun you can carry it also as a secondary/ back up gun. I've carried it on my ankle a lot especially when I'm sitting for long periods of time like at the movie theater.
Glock 26 with a Glock 19 15+1 magazine with a pachmayr mag sleeve…is the perfect setup…I have the same setup. I call it the “short barrel glock 19” critics say it’s a great “starter pistol” in the right hands, it’s one of the best pistols for conceal carry and self defense. And with the gen 3 u have options in terms of magazines…it will take the Glock 17, as well as the 19 magazines….…very versatile for defense…and with the option for the 30 round magazine and 50 round magazine…it makes it ideal for offense too…and with the added capability of being able to upgrade to a threaded competition barrel giving it extra length it instantly becomes identical to the full size glock 19….in my opinion the 26 is the best 9mm glock u could have…it can transform into several different variations depending on the situation….added with the fact u can throw it in an MCK and turn it into a PDW WITH a foldable stock if ur shopping for a Glock 9…..arguably the 26 gen 3 is the best u can do if ur looking for a reliable 9mm….I would recommend a serpico trigger upgrade as well as tru glow sights for low light conditions… I’ve owned the Glock 26 for over a decade upgrading for the gen 2 to gen 3….the 4 is fine too…don’t get the gen 5….u can’t do much in terms of upgrades…just buy da gen 3 or 4….thank me later
Don't think I've ever commented to this video. I carried a Glock 19 OTJ for a number of years. In retirement I traded the 19 for a 43X.....I've had my 26 for a long time and it is going nowhere. It will be with me for the long run.
Great video explaining why the G26 makes sense as a carry option. The one point I take exception with is the accuracy of the 26 relative to the G19 or G17. I’ve found the G26 to every bit as capable as the G19 and G17 out to 25 yards. I use the G26 and G17 in competition and have objective data on my shooting to support my view. The G26 is one of my favorite firearms. Thanks for the video.
The G26 is an AWESOME little pistol!!! You can utilize higher capacity magazines from the G19 and G17 and others. AWESOME little package. Good holsters and a good belt, like the Nextbelt, wish I would've known about the Nextbelt belt, before I retired!!
Great review on the Glock 26. I have been concealed carrying a Glock 17 Gen 3 and now in the market for a sub compact. I have the shield, but I feel the Glock 26 is better and versatile.
I also have the g26 I like it alot. Have the g23 to. 40 cal it's awesome. I agree with you g26 great ccw. Also carry xd 40cal Subcompact great 👍 carry also. I do switch from time to time. I know others think you should stick to one. I'm ok with all of them. Anyway great video. Thanks
Like many of the individuals posting a comment, I believe that the Glock 26 is the ideal concealed carry handgun. I recently purchased my 3rd Glock 26 having traded my 2 prior pistols for other firearms. After carrying a H&K VP9 SK for 18 months, I decided to go back to carrying a G26 everyday. My most recent purchase was a G26 Gen 4, and my most recent sale was a G26 Gen 5 when I purchased the H&K pistol. I prefer the G26 Gen 4 with finger groves since I have small hands over the Gen 5 without finger groves. My alternate carry firearm is a H&K P30 SK V3 (decocker on rear of slide) with a light, and one can purchase 10, 13, and 15 round magazines for this DA/SA pistol with great night sights.
I tried several Compacts, then settled for all the key points you discussed on G26 gen5. I carry the 12 round mag and 1 round chambered. My extra mag is the G19, then near my night stand is the G17 mag with the XGrip ext. I do own a G19 Gen5 for training, since the range does not allow compacts for training. My with will take over my Sig 365. Great videos, hope to see more.
@@Aluttuh Funny thing, had a training recently, 27Dec2020, and instructor allowed me to use my EDC G26 gen5. I did have my G19 gen5, but did not use. On the range, I can use any Glocks or my P365 (rarely use now).
Thanks for the great review. I was all set to get a G19 GEN5 MOS because I wanted a RedDot, but the dealer said it was Off Roster and I'd have to get the std G19 and either spend near $400 for a slide to accomodate the RedDot or get pay to have mine shaved down. Now that I've seen your video I'm sold just getting the G26 anf forgoing the RedDot.
I'm the same way man. I own a M&P Shield, and Glock 19 currently. I can't used to the grip on the M&P, it's way too thin for me. The Glock 19 is the perfect gun although it's hard to conceal at times... I'm looking to get a Glock 26 right now to fulfil my concealment needs. I shot it a week ago and it was perfect. I love the thickness in double stack, the grip feels very well in the hand and it seems like it would conceal very well. Can't wait for it to be mine!!
Try the Hogue Beavertail Handall grip on you Shield. It changes the feel completely. I’d still get the 26, I love mine, but the hogue works great on the shield.
I have the 19 but my wife has the 26 with an X-Grip 19 Mag and it feels good in my hand, I'm likeing the 26 a bit more than the 19, Both will get the job done.
Well said! Sure it is nice carrying carry a smaller gun than the 26. But at the end of the day, I carry a gun that I want to use in a gunfight. That is where the 26 shines and you do not feel handicapped. Shoots like a full size which equals 100% confidence!!
There’s a rail adapter you can get for it made by mantis it attaches to the trigger guard and allows you to mount a light. I carry the 43 pocket carry and I think it’s versatile and practical. But got the g40 mos for the night stand.
I'm carrying my gen 4 G26 with tlr6 and white hat hybrid holster. I use a 15 round G19 magazine with the xgrip sleeve. I'm going to try out the P365X and will be putting a holosun 407k x2 and tlr6 on it. I'll see if I like it better. Thanks for the video. Subscribed
I like that extension, the reason I brought one, I can conceal it better. I have a 19, its not that easy during the summer month's when you out and about.
I agree 💯 I carry it too. Look at recover tactical for picatiny rail adapter. It works great and there are a couple holster companies that make holsters for it. I use it w olight pl mini. The holster I use is from ime productions I believe. Very good quality holster. I also have crimson trace laser grip on that bad boy and vickers slide rack back plate.
Great video. Just got my Gen 3 26 and loving it. Lemme know how ya feel about red dots when you hit your 40s and beyond and everything within arms length is a blur. Red dots are great for aging eyes - and even more importantly allow you to shoot with both eyes open and focused on the threat versus the front sight. I do get what you mean about the likelihood of having to use it in close quarters point and shoot situation tho.
I have both the g 19 Gen3&4 as well as a Glock 26 gen4. I do notknow why, I shoot better with the Glock 26 gen4. I carry with 10 rounds & a pinky extender. I carry a Glock 19 mag with an X-Grip as a back up. I am 5-8" and 115 lbs. I print easy. I like the Tactipac holsters. They make a great holster for the G 26 as well as the g19. All their holsters are great, in my opinion. The run from 60-110.00 and a 3-4 month wait. I do not print with these holsters/guns and ultra comfortable. Great video. There are many people who love the g26. I have heard the g19 is their best seller in 9mm. I think the g26 would be 2nd.??
I think you're on the right track with your carry philosophy, great video. I have a Glock 19 but was thinking about switching to a 26 for daily carry for the reasons you mention - that shorter grip is just more concealable with the flush fit, even if you have a good holster for the 19.
My G26 Gen 5 has only talon grips, additional G17/19 mags and mag extension grips, Nightstick light, all other items are stock OEM, practical, accurate, concealable, reliable and accurate. Simple great handgun.
I've never shot a G26 but I had a CZ P10s for a while and I really liked it. I try to stay away from sub-compact's because I don't shoot them well but if I found a gen 5 G26 for the right price I might buy it.
I beg to differ. I shoot my g26 alot more accurate than my g19. I do agree with you that the g26 is the best option than any other gun in its catergory. Great video.
With the Glock 26, in my case the Gen 4, the addition of the steel oem sights vice the polymer, the Pearce Grip PG-26 mag extention which adds 0 rounds (same for the back-up mag), and the Crimson Trace LG-436 Laserguard all together make up what I call Glock EDC Perfection. If you really need a subcompact EDC that can carry up to 15 rounds then you're not looking for a CCW/EDC you're looking for a gunfight. Semper Fi.
I have a G27 and just is too much recoil. Put the Wolf 9mm barrel in and now I have a G26 with G26 mags. Changed nothing else and shot 250 rounds of range ammo thru it with no problems. So now the G26 is my carry with 10-1. Great gun.
Yeah when used to have the G27 years ago when I was new to firearms I couldnt hit shit with it. Even with the extended mag and sleeve my accuracy was bad. Im sure now I can shoot it a lot better but the G26 is better for me. I shoot 1911 in .45 the best but they are too big and heavy for me to CC 😢
I carry a G43x MOS now, but my Glock 26 is still one of the best handguns I've every owned. I have so many mags for it, including a few 33 rounders. You can take the G26 into any type of fight.
Nice review. I like the G26, it’s proven, price is reasonable and very shootable. Tried out the Hellcat, M&P, and I found this to be perfect. It takes fun sticks…and it’s John Wick’s gun. 💥
I thought my G43 was snappy until I got the crappy Diamondback DB9 Gen4. The G43 is so soft and easy fun shooter. I'm smaller than you and I also have +2, +3, +4 and a 12 mag. The Fab Defense +4 is my fav mag. In hot and humid Texas I want the lightest for shorts and tshirts for EDC.
Gotta love the 26 gen 5 trigger ..I own the 17 and 19 also ..the fat baby is my top choice ..I carry a 17 back up mag ..flush 10 rounder ..good to go ..soft smooth shooter ..there defiantly overlooked..✌️🇺🇸
I like to carry mine in place of my 19. I carry it with an OEM +2. I have Truglo TFX Pro sights. I'd like to get a Gen 5, but I keep putting guns I don't have yet over it. One day though.
We are in the golden age of firearms. If you don’t get hung up on a brand, I recommend you decide if the gun is for CCW or a truck or home defense gun and try different brand to see which one fits you the best.
This video was perfect for me. We are basically exactly the same body type and this is exactly what I was wanting to hear. Do you happen to have a recommendation on holsters?
I researched all of the subcompacts and I also decided I want the 26 just because all the glock 17 and 19 mags fit it i still want a 42 just to own because its tiny and I wish Glock would make one even smaller in 22lr just for fun .
Just an fyi, I have a 26 and a 42 and I am glad that I do. There are definitely times where the 42 fits better for what I am doing. I do however carry the 26 much more frequently.
@@acatnamedscoop7718 great choice. Been running 26 for a while gonna choose soon between a 43, 43x, & 48 see which best for me. And yeah that’d be super dope if they did.
Just some food for though, you and I are about the same size, and I'm carrying a glock 17. Holster has made the biggest impact on getting it to work. Tha said, I'm sure it's easier to make the smaller guns work
You mention carrying this in a tuckable holster for a business casual environment. That’s exactly my situation, and I’m about to buy this. Can I ask what you carry it in? Thank you.
I love my G26 Gen 3 and I was also skeptical about buying the trl-6 laser/light because it was only 100 lumens. Im so glad I got one. The quality is great, you can change the batteries without taking the light off so you dont have to re-zero it and believe it or not 100 lumens is plenty because your eyes are already adjusted to the dark. It also seems brighter than 100 lumens to me as it is brighter than any of my flashlights that put out 100 lumens. Its pleny bright enough to sweep the inside of your house and I like that it doesnt totally take your night vision away. I am thinking about getting a tactical recovery rail so I have more options to try out but I have a feeling im going to go back to the trl-6 at the end of the day. Crimson also makes a trl-6 like laser light that is 150 lumens with options for a red or green laser that looks promising. Does anyone have any recommendations for a light if I get the tactical recovery rail? ✌️
I have a 365x but have been thinking of trading it for a G26. Two reasons are better comparability with a G19, and I just don't have confidence in the internal safeties of the 365 to where I feel comfortable carrying with a round in the chamber. The G19 not an issue, nothing to do with the 320 issue but the way Sig set it up, but I just don't trust the internal safety setup of Sig.
Keep in mind this guy is 5'9. Most people would prefer a longer grip with a slimmer slide. It's hard to get a grip with only 3-4 fingers on a gun. If you're going to put an extension on a 26 just run a 19 or buy a SIG p365x
I don't know why people say, that the Glock 26 isn't as accurate as the g19. I hit steel at a 100 yards away with my Glock 26. It's very accurate. Glock 26 best subcompact ever.
EXACTLY
I've read several comments that agree with your assessment.
Probably because the have completely shit aim.
😂
Because most "men" have more sensitive hands then their wife
Had the G19. It was a bit too big for me and I don’t need anything visible while on my possession as well. Getting my G26 in a couple weeks!

Thanks! I’m deffinatly gonna get one to use for my pl mini on this, probably won’t carry like that but I like to have the option
Great points brotha.
I love my glock 26
liked and subscribed
There’s just a battery door on the TLR that you pop open. No unscrewing and taking anything apart.
There's a company called Recover Tactical that makes a rail attachment for the G26 so you can mount more powerful lights to the gun if you want.
I’m carrying a 43X and 20 (10mm). 15+1 in each. Been 100% reliable too.
I beg to differ. I shoot my g26 alot more accurate than my g19. I do agree with you that the g26 is the best option than any other gun in its catergory. Great video.
I experienced the same.. 26 shoots better
Nice video. I love my 26.
..I have the 19 and it's fine .. except for carry , for me ....so I'm looking for a 26 ....great video 👍
It will end up being your favorite guaranty it. It's just as accurate as 19 for me. Cant explain it but......👍🇺🇲
With the Glock 26, in my case the Gen 4, the addition of the steel oem sights vice the polymer, the Pearce Grip PG-26 mag extention which adds 0 rounds (same for the back-up mag), and the Crimson Trace LG-436 Laserguard all together make up what I call Glock EDC Perfection.
That what he uses in the movie I need to look closer never noticed
@@guerian84 he uses a lot of guns but always has 1 G26 in each movie.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Can you do a video showing how you conceal with the tucked in shirt?
You sound like eric Forman from that 70’s show. Lol I cant
it is a great gun, been carrying one for years, but just switched to the 43x, greater gun
The Glock 26 is my "go to". I love my gen 3!
Same here, carry it with a g17 backup magazine. Lotta pew pew on tap.
Hell yes man gen 3s..and for the nightstand..glock 17mag with a xgrip on it. Doesn't get better....also talon grips the sandpaper feel is awesome....
Oh Yeah and my G-26/Gen 3 has been in my possession for 11 years with Zero Regrets. Have the Seventeen as well.
@@TheThugNasty Well done.

Great gun I carry every day
I thought my G43 was snappy until I got the crappy Diamondback DB9 Gen4.
The G-Twenty Six is a Beast.
is the 26 gen 5 trigger noticably better than the gen 4 trigger?
a 26 slide on a 19 frame with a shortened dust cover would be pretty sick
Put 19 magazine on it with xgrip
@@Jay-vc8vf I do that and it's just not the same. Glock 26X would be perfect.
I carry a Glock 30 sf love the 45
I got the G27. Have a 9mm barrel and mags for the extra ammo versatility. Love it
This video was perfect for me. We are basically exactly the same body type and this is exactly what I was wanting to hear. Do you happen to have a recommendation on holsters?
Really enjoyed the video I have the G 23 40 cal. Would love to pick up a Gen 3 G26 my store never has them in stock. I'll keep trying though. Ty
As you can see I did finely get the g26 lol
Recover tactical is an addition that adds a rail for your pistol
Great video. Which holster do you use? Appendix?
The ole 26 is just a Tad Bit heavy for ankle holster carry but can be done.
Fully agreed with your rationale. Glock 26 is an excellent firearm.
Is this a good CCW/EDC for a woman? What about multipurpose (travel, SHTF, home defense, etc)? How easy is it to use? Is the slide difficult to rack?
I carry a Glock 26 every day on the streets and a Glock 20 in the Woods
This is good videer! What ammo grain do you recommend for the G26: 115, 126, 147 etc
The G17 and 19 print on me to much. The G26 and 27 actually disappear on me. Love the Shields also.
Simply the best........ Glock perfection!!!!!(?🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
What type of holster do you use for your cc? Good video!
Have the Glock 27 that's an awesome carry.
@@nysledge4669 I decided on the glock 26 and for my 380 a Kahr cw380
Try glock 44, not subcompact but that 22lr glock is one of the funnest guns ever to shoot
@@gmoder100 i decided to keep my CZ p07 and get a glock 43X for carry I wont buy a glock 22LR until they make one as small or smaller than the 42
@@acatnamedscoop7718 great choice. Been running 26 for a while gonna choose soon between a 43, 43x, & 48 see which best for me. And yeah that’d be super dope if they did.
Glock 26 was introduced back in 1995, the year I started my job.
Just some food for though, you and I are about the same size, and I'm carrying a glock 17. Holster has made the biggest impact on getting it to work. Tha said, I'm sure it's easier to make the smaller guns work
Magpul has a 12 round mag almost the same size as OEM.
Almost?
Recover Tactical makes an ad on rail for the G26
Would you recommend this for the first time gun owner? Thanks.
You mention carrying this in a tuckable holster for a business casual environment. That’s exactly my situation, and I’m about to buy this. Can I ask what you carry it in? Thank you.
26 best edc, idc about the 365, hellcat! Plus I love my USA made Glocks stamped on the side.
I feel the same way I’m in the same boat
I agree with everything you said , only downside to a 26 is the barrel length and lack of possibility to add lights
Why didn't you get the gen 5?
Best pistol ever
Keep in mind this guy is 5'9. Most people would prefer a longer grip with a slimmer slide. It's hard to get a grip with only 3-4 fingers on a gun. If you're going to put an extension on a 26 just run a 19 or buy a SIG p365x
