I hit the target at 100 yards with my Glock 26. This gun is just as accurate as it's big brother. Don't sleep on the Glock 26. Best all around gun in my humble opinion.

For me the Glock26 is more comfortable to shoot and more accurate than the Sig P365. I can get a better grip on it too. And let’s not forget about all the aftermarket parts available for it too. If only Glock can figure out a way to fit more rounds into the small flush fit standard magazine the way Sig did with the P365.

A lot of people go on about SigSauer P226 accuracy, I tried one at a range with my Glock19 & it was just as accurate as the Sig even though less than half the price.

I like the way you keep them stock .. just because they have some of the best aftermarket support , doesn't mean you have to change a bunch of things. Mine are all stock , and if you can't shoot a stock Glock , you need practice not aftermarket crap. Love the versatility of the 26.

The best reason to still cary a G26 is the reason you mentioned. It shoots well. Sure lots of smaller guns might hold more, but they don't shoot as well in my opinion.

I have a G27 in 40 cal. which I have converted to a G26 in 9mm by using a Wolf barrel and G26 mags. A very compact 10+1 platform with a spare mag giving me 21 rnds. which is enough for any occasion if needed. The G27 after 2 magazines was enough to send me home. At 74 it was just too much and I milked cows by hand for 30 years. The 9mm is so much easier to stay on target and still gives plenty of opportunity to give your attacker the room temperature challenge.

@@chorizojuice I've had a M27 gen 3 since 2002 & a M19 gen 2 since 1996 and I've always considered the 27 to be the most versatile because I have 3 different barrels and calibers to choose from .40, .357 Sig, & the 9mm. I haven't shot the M27 using either .40 or .357 for around 20 years now and still have boxes of quality brand name ammo that I bought back then marked anywhere between $6-$15 a box but now it's like $30-$60 a box which I'm not planning on purchasing anytime soon, so with today's ammo prices most people should think about purchasing a M26 and be happy like me using 9mm ammo for $15-$30 a box which is half the price and have just as much fun shooting a cheaper, more plentiful, and a much more controlable tamer load.

Is the G26 normally very difficult to rack? I tried a gen 5 at the range and while I enjoyed shooting it, I found that it was even stiffer than the Shield Plus, G48, and M&P 2.0 SC. The G26 being stiffer than the M&P models surprised me a lot, since I thought it would be the other way around and had been told as much by others when I asked about it. Is it that particular generation of the gun, or is it possible that maybe there were other reasons for it being so difficult?

    • @HillbillyMusings
      @HillbillyMusings  Рік тому

I find the G26 to be about normal as far as slide racking difficulty. I did have an early geneation Smith Shield and it was brutal to rack the slide on that one. Very very stiff. With that said, I've never racked a Gen 5 but I can't imagine it would be any different than a Gen 4. Good luck and Thanks for watching!!

As a total beginner who is looking for a home defense choice and a visible, carry option for back-country camping trips, I am thinking that this G26 9mm would be perfect. In my continued perfect world, I will never need to use it. However, if I did, how does stopping power enter the discussion. If a 9mm can stop any attacker as I suspect it can, why do folks choose larger guns and/or rounds? Does a single 9mm round stop anyone at 20 feet away or less? Still praying aloud that I never need to find out. Thanks!

I carry a Glock 27 gen 4.. but a lot of people always say "why dont you just carry a 19 or 23". Well first of all its a "conceal carry" piece.. not a duty gun. I also prefer the traditional Glock Subcompacts (G26, G27) cause of the versatility... i can deep conceal it with a flush mag.. or I can go bigger with the G23 mag in it. You can make the Glock 26/27 guns bigger, but you cant make the Glock 19/23 guns smaller. Not to mention, the traditional Glock 'double stacks" are much more controllable and less snappy than the lil micro guns like the Sig P365 and SA Hellcat... therefore, i can be more accurate with the traditional Glocks.

Also You can go 12 , 13 . 15 . 33 rounds the Hellcat goes up to 15 the Hellcat is a little smaller and thinner and is optics ready. if Glock makes the 26 optics ready I think a lot of people will buy it I feel better shooting the Glock 26 then the Hellcat or the Hellcat pro because I can get a way better grip and I love the versatility . • @napalmstickylikeglue

There's a difference between Marksman shooting and defensive shooting. Defensive shooting at such a distance won't even require the use of sights. Not to mention you won't care about recoil in such a situation. So micro compacts are absolutely a viable option for self defense as most encounter will be 25ft or less. If you can't hit a Target consistently at 25 ft with any firearm under any circumstances then you probably shouldn't be carrying one.

@@napalmstickylikeglue it’s not the facts that I’m questioning it’s the attitude and tone. There are people that cannot afford to be trained by Navy Seals.. there are people that have a pistol or revolvers in their night stand drawers that are old or handicapped or just a single mom with 3 kids. Should they get training? Of course. But should it be a requirement., hell no. Firing a gun, in realistic close up engagements, is relatively easy to do. Most people that effectively defend themselves with firearms everyday in this county have never had any formal training. It’s the tactical-cool, or ex military guys selling their training services that really tick me off when the brow beat people about training because it makes them feel superior or better about the money they spent on training.

Love my 26. My first Glock was a 43 I hated Glock forever because of the fanboys I now have 7 and they're my favorite guns. Sold some of my sigs and Springfields for glocks

Hard to beat a Glock. Like I've mentioned, when I want to have fun at the range I'll take my revolvers or 1911 or 22's....whatever. When I need a gun because I NEED A GUN....I'll reach for a Glock :) (they are fun to shoot too!). The fanboys drive me a bit nuts at times, especially with those high dollar "gucci glocks".... just give me a stock 26 or 19 and I'll call it good. Thanks for watching!!

IMO the G19 is the largest thing people might actually carry. I'm beginning to think the G26 might be the smallest 9mm people actually enjoy shooting.

Streamlight TLR-6 is the way to go if you need a light on your G26! The non-laser model is about $65. With laser (unnecessary in my opinion) is $100

The Nightstick TCM-550XL light only is a good option as well. Similar in size and controls to the TLR-7 and offers 550 lumens. Pricing around $85. Been running it on my G19 for about year and a half and it’s going strong. Have a few fiends that run the TLR-7 that have bought the Nightstick for other weapons. Not bashing streamlight at all but as in my case at the time I was shopping for a weapon light the Nightstick was what was more readily available. Plus, several major brand holster makers have option for the Nightstick, so I figured if they did that it must be decent brand.

@@KenpoFishYou'd have to install a Recover Tactical rail adapter for that light to work on the G26. However, Nightstick's TSM-12G would work on the G26 as is.
