I personally just PREFER XDefiant to COD - ANY COD. It's personal preference, two different games and one of them I prefer, a lot actually. I HATE killstreaks and hard to see character models, SBMM etc, I mean, XD just delivers on EVERYTHING? Inc TREMENDOUS MAP DESIGN, So, WHY would I bother with COD now, I won't, it literally doesn;t bring ANYTHING to the table for me anymore and I am a HUUUUGE Treyarch/SHG fan.
I'm pretty hyped for BO6. Not only did they have 4 years of dev time... but for the first time in 2 decades, I'll be playing CoD without additional costs. Basically for free :)
BO6 looked really good at the XBox Showcase. Now, trailers always look good. But I'm talking about the stuff they been revealing.
...There will be Treyarch zombies too. Which is the best version of zombies.
We'll have to see, of course. Because it's CoD. For all we know it's awful. But with all that we know already, I think we're getting a good CoD this year.
In any case, I won't be paying for the game, which is a banger, if you ask me 🎉

Although the two companies work off of the same foundation, Treyarch titles are faster-paced, smoother, and more arcade-like, while Infinity Ward titles tend to lean toward realism.

I'm never exited for iw or sledgehammer cod years. But EVERY time it's treyarchs turn, i get hyped purely because round based, good zombies always returns, they still haven't made a single bad cod game, they BY FAR have always made the best multiplayer and except for the bo3 campaign, they have made amazing campaigns every freaking time.

Man I hadn’t touched cod in months bo6 got me hyped so I went back and loaded up mw3 and man sbmm just ruins the experience. Especially after playing Xdefiant where I won 12 games solo in a row and when I come back to cod it’s a struggle to win 2 games In a row with sbmm lol.

Without Infinity Ward none of these other studios would even exist. They gave you Cod 4: Modern Warfare, MW2, MW2019 and Warzone which revitalised the franchise. They screwed the pooch on MW2 but their contribution to cod can't be disrespected like this

Mark my words. Call of Duty died with COD MW3. Numbers dropped so low they needed to go to gamepass (essentially free to play) in order to boost numbers to hope more is spent in store. Activision Blizzard is not going to do this to a game that they can charge AAA money for. They are not doing this because they are nice people. They are doing it out of necessity.
I like how xdefiant had the sbmm for the first 25 levels of progression. Give the new players a friendly ecosystem. After that they have variety and opportunity to get better.
I will never, ever go back to their matchmaking. I'll go back to cod, but not until they make significant changes

SBMM isn’t bad; in fact, it’s improved my gameplay since I get challenges more often. EOMM is the issue for me. My aim goes from a laser beam to sporadic when I’m facing someone with a new skin or they turn to bullet sponges.
The only people who care about SBMM are people who derive their self-worth from noob-farming.

More like this is the first actual game that treyarch has been working on in the past 4-6 years. Cold War only had Treyarch come in at the last minute as damage control to fix Raven/Sledgehammer's mess. They slapped 'Black Ops' on it and called it ready for release. This is also the first game to be made under Activision's new plan going forward with not releasing new titles every year and now having all the studios working together on one project. Hence why the game seems so ambitious with tons of features and content.

That point you made about feeling something is so true. CoD feels soulless to play, whereas XDefiant at least invokes something in me, and that makes me want to keep playing
I miss COD having unique mechanics that are different between the devs. It makes each game feel a lot more different. Having a very cool new theme also adds a lot to it but that basically gets killed with all the skins.
I definitely think this game will have a different feel than MWIII. The engine does not decide the feel of the game. Seeing the small gameplay clips gives clear Cold War vibes in terms of feel.
Treyarch is the only dev studio at activision that produces a worthwhile game. As long as it doesn't end up like bo4 and the domt waste developement time on another outbreak instead of round based i will be happy.
I've been around COD since 2011 and I've definitely seen a culture shift. I personally hate SBMM but I think that having it, especially for BO6 and all the casuals on Game Pass, will benefit the franchise unfortunately.
Gamers are a different breed nowadays: I know it's apples to oranges but the amount of people who haven't completed mid-level bosses on Elden Ring despite it being a top seller makes me think that people don't have that drive to get better the way we did, you know? Selfishly I hope there's no SBMM, but for the franchise it might not be the worst thing

Tactical sprint and heavy “mil-sim” recoil on the weapons. It’s the same game with a shiny new coating of paint guys. The gunplay is going to feel exactly the same 🫤 Which is HOW they are going to be able to port BO6 directly into Warzone. Great video tho and hope to see us all being honest as we get closer to release, but especially after it does come out.
This game could feel and play as amazing as Black Ops 1/2 but it won’t matter because everyone will be put into the SBMM/EOMM Blender once again
MW3 was made by S Sledgehammer Games same as Vanguard and they worked on MW2 in the background they need to remove Sledgehammer Games completely from all

Honestly, I thought people were finally over Cod's bs. I know I am. Even without XDefiant, I wouldn't crawl back until we got SBMM and EOMM removed from the casual playlists.
It's just a different audience now, I guess. No one cares if their matches are rigged against them, actively slowing down the game to force you to spend more time on it or apparently having a game that's 300GB taking up all their hard drive space.
Games, in my opinion, are supposed to be fun and casual, only taking things competitively if the player wants to. Not so predatory for your time and money it creates a digital profile of you to make you stay on for as long as they possibly can.
After thorough research I've found that Treyarch and Raven are teaming up to create BO6, whenever they team up it's usually a good BO imo
I dunno how excited I am excited for being at like round 68 in zombies and my internet just hiccups once and it kicks me from the game and ends my run entirely on the spot. I am only going to play it because game pass, if it was not on game pass I would have to pass on it entirely
