man those were the good days looking back at it, i played mw2 a lot. it was my first cod, but i was in 7th grade and had school and was grounded a lot from games so i probably only had 5-6 days on it, but shoot as an adult who was 20 living with his parents w/ a part time job i dont think any cod got as much time as BO3 did. i loved everyhting about the game. when i got tired with multiplayer i went zombies and vice versa. playing with friends everyday going on massive kill streaks, and just havin fun... i try to recapture that lightning in the bottle with other games and they always fall short. and with BO6 comin out got me nostaglic thinking about BO3 how was just so good, i never minded the future movement, i got used to it playing with southpaw and a normal controller and everything was so seamless ugh id kill to go back to that point in my life lol
Black Ops 3 is the GOAT COD. I’ve been saying it for years as someone who played since MW. A lot of nostalgia in the previous games but BO3 had it all. Good maps, streaks, characters with actual character, specialist abilities, in game music, sound engine, great graphics that hold up even today, tons of content, good DLC. It was the peak of COD.
Who remembers when the game came out, everybody kept on choosing combined and it was annoying because it didn't have the 2 times only before being locked. I was fuming because I was getting sick of playing it at the time.
Everyone say they hate the jet packs but.. it’s freakin jet packs and they’re cool, and they add some sauce and verticality to the gameplay. I hope they add jetpacks again to a future installment.
The level of quality we got back then was insane. With the exception of IW, every CoD up until 2019 had something new and exciting to offer, rather than being a carbon copy of the last one. The games were innovative, yet polished and overflowing with identity. The pinnacle of gaming.
BO3 was the first CoD game I bought. BO3 and Infinite Warfare remain my favorite cod games and I refuse to buy another until I get my jetpacks and wall running back
It is crazy to look back and realize how much care and work went into maps. These maps had such a unique identity on every one of them. Now, most of the maps are remasters and cut out parts of larger maps and dev resources seem to be just focused on skins. Not a great trend.
Been saying this forever. It’s my favorite game of all time and people only don’t like it because it has advanced movement and people aren’t good enough to make use of it.
From my own research through community polls Black Ops 2 is hands downs the communitys favorite Call of Duty of all time! But Black Ops 3 was amazing with zombies and multiplayer
yea i’m not sure why he’s acting like bo2 isn’t the best cod . bo2 to bo3 i’m not saying was a let down or anything because bo3 was great but bo3 was in no shape or form as good as bo2 .
Compared to Battlefield 4 which was released two years earlier, BO3's graphics sucked bad. On PC the game was so buggy and unoptimized that most people had to buy completely new gaming rigs to play it and it still wasn't good enough. So many people played BO2, but in comparison BO3 had such a small community because you needed to spend thousands of dollars to enjoy the game.
I couldn’t agree more with this! Best CoD ever imo…dropping streaks on this game felt so rewarding, it incentivized getting better to be able to drop them
As someone that likes Infinite Warfare the most, this was a really good video diving back into bo3. To me, iw and bo3 are the yin and yang of advanced movement cods. Both are spectacular experiences and both give you different reasons to play each other. Bo3 leans into digital vr warfare, iw leans into its campaign world with the dark and dreadful undertones... they have immersive black market/quartermasters, iw has mission teams, they have great mastery camos, iw added collections and easy challenges to get dlc guns, both games make most weapons have a specific role, the rigs and specialists are very identifiable, most maps were really good... great era man, I miss them
Black Ops 3 was by far my most favorite Call of Duty. My friends and I would play for hours on end and never got bored once. I will forever remember late night 1v1 snipers only on Combine lol. It was such a fun and unique game, plus every zombies map was a 10/10 in my opinion.
I agree that in the first year, this game was one of the best CoD by a wide margin. The design philosophy, even without the exo movement, has influenced each Treyarch game going forward. The moment people figured out they can bypass most of the skill gap by simply "going up" (because of the jetpacks) on top of unbalanced weapons being added to the loot box in the post-season, the game is really unfun to go back to now, and it sucks there's no way to go back to this game's prime.
@@Lumbago-boxblack ops 1 was meh, zombies was the only good thing about it imo. Plus, cod4 on pc had server browser, that alone already made the game 10x better

0:40 dude disrespected the goat with that "barely smaller group" most people generally say bo2 is the best, not mw2. It's a close second than THAT'S where bo3 comes in. It's in the top 3 and barely because of supply drops... and I reached level 640 in bo3.. it's still ranked 3rd. I played bo2 for 6-7 years. Bo2 held people like no other.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. Best cod by a mile. Brilliant and novel weapons, superb maps and gameplay was so enjoyable. I still have it installed and jump on from time to time.
best thing about the campaign was the fact that it had multiplayer, i remember going through it on realism difficulty with my squad, it was a blast only downside was lootboxes and how rare it was to get the weapons, thankfully i managed to play enough that i was able to get all of them without paying a single penny.
*It's all fun and games until you realize there are more GAME CHANGING WEAPONS in the loot boxes than what comes with the base game.* *And i don't care what you say about immersion breaking skins or all the "good" camos being in the store these days. Loot boxes were completely anti-consumer. There are people who still play this game to this day and they still don't have all the weapons. Leave loot boxes to the free to play gacha games with anime women.*
The way Infinite Warfare handled DLC weapons was great (you could just unlock them by completing a challenge). Then we had MWR's scrap system and cosmetic collections (that let you unlock any cosmetics you wanted even if you didn't get them from random loot boxes) which was also amazing. And last but not least we had the countless ways to unlock loot boxes in WWII every single day without paying. Combine those three aspects into one and I'll take loot boxes over $30 bundles ANY DAY with no hesitation! The issue was the monetization, the loot boxes themselves were actually fun and continuously kept me playing for a few more late night matches than I would've played without them!
@@UprisenGaming Only one problem: most of those $30 bundles are only cosmetic. You don't gain any advantage by using them. In fact, you might even disadvantage yourself with how brightly lit some of these skins are. Now, i know you're gonna bring up the Roze skin, the CDL Los Angeles Thieves skin or the recent "perk bundles" but honsetly they're far in between and get nerfed after a while. Since i don't play Warzone none of those "perk bundles" appeal to me. And while those dark skins that blend into the shadows are annoying i don't see them that often to be honest. Usually it's some glowing orange pinkish thing that shoots lazor beams and turns you into a cloud of cotton candy if you're hit by it. Blending into the shadows really only come into play when you're either playing the non-respawn modes or Warzone, that's the one point i can give you. Otherwise i disagree.
@@ReboyGTR did you even read my comment? I said DLC weapons should be unlocked by completing a challenge, that means the loot boxes would also be only cosmetic...

there have only been two times in all of COD's history that a full 100% of players have been satisfied by the current game, the first time was COD4, when COD was brand new on the scene and no one really had any time to complain or anything to complain about. and the 2nd time was the actual best COD game, Black Ops 2, it had no detractors at the time and no significant number of players complaining about ANYTHING at all. BO3 had a lot of people who hated the advanced movment and who hated the confusing co-op-designed campaign, MW19 had a lot of people angry about SBMM and the map design, and same with every game since>. WW2 had people angry at the setting, BO4 had the people angry about the lootboxes and zombies changes. world at war people were mad at the setting, mw2 people were mad at the noobtubes and quickscoping, black ops 1 and MW3 some people were mad at the lack of growth/innovation in the franchise. and obviously IW/ghosts/AW had a bunch of complaints then and since
Infinite Warfare had the bad luck of being released when the community was done with advanced movement but slap a different game title on it and not have it be called COD it probably would of been universally praised as a fps game.
I've been saying this for years: CoD 4 holds the memberberries title for me cause of nostalgia, and being the last time I could play something like 24v24 Hardcore Broadcast, but BO3 is still my favourite for actual gameplay. The gunplay, the map designs, actually having a reason for a shotgun to have a tighter spread while ADSing with the Argus. And the Pick 10 loadout system stood out for me as well. Some of my favourite memories are running around on I think it was Evac, with 6 perks and a Wrench, bonking my way to glory XD
The verticality of the game was amazing, adding a dimension of travel, like being able to turn a corner high on a wall definitely helped counter your typical head glitches. Movement was incredible.
BO3 was good until they added so many weapons to Supply Drops. Not only that, but those weapons were really good, some even on the op side. I bought 100% of the game and yet I owned 60% of base weapons. Nearly a thousand hours in btw. Black Ops 3 was a scam, disgrace and a microtransaction bonanza.
Honestly I didn't play a huge amount of Bo3 because it came at a weird sorta in-between console/pc gaming point in my life, but I think you may be right. I really enjoyed the time I got to play on it and it was the only CoD ever I enjoyed watching the esports and 2v2 gamebattles side of.

Why does everyone seem to forgot Black Ops 1. That was easily my favorite COD. The campaign was awesome and so was the multiplayer. We still talk about "what do the numbers mean, mason" to this day. Also how could I forget zombies.
Also another thing to mention about black ops 3 is it by far had the longest life cycle for any call of duty, have new content being added from 2015-2018, and ever getting updates and patches after that. There were multiple weapons and events going on years after release, and even extra maps and dlc 5 and 6

I read the title, and I had to agree instantly. It was fun in all aspects. I went through all weapons to get the gold and diamond. Dark matter still the greatest camo.
What I used to love about COD was that even if I didn't like this years, I could wait 1 year for a completely new take on the 6v6 game we all know and love. And I knew it was about passion and not a paycheck.
Why is everyone so pressed ab supply drop weapons. Y’all use the same exact gun every single game on warzone😭😭 Y’all act like y’all switch weapons every 2 minutes into the game. And on top of that. A ton of the dlc weapons ppl pretend to care ab came late into the game or while IW was out. All In all, unless you have Dark Matter - I can’t understand ppl complaining ab loot boxes. You were probably not gonna touch the gun in the first place.😂
Probably because the very first weapon supply drops had the Marshall pistols which were 1 shot kill shotgun pistols you could hold 2 at once. If you didn't get lucky or pay like 200 bucks you just get absolutely fucked to death at close range with something you have no access to.
@youngtidepod3507 you mean the fact it's an instant swap to secondary meaning it negates the penalty of running things like snipers? I assume you are just a troll or a shitposter, especially since you are straight up defending supply drop weapons.
@@P4brotagonist bro you can run 2 primaries already and you can pick up weapons off the ground. Better players just win bro. What matters more; having good game sense and movement or having the marshals? Obviously game sense and movement. A sniper rifle in an average players hands is not the same as having a sniper in Faze Spratt, Faze Scope, Faze Pamaj hand’s. Like if you’re good at the game you’re not really complaining ab one particular gun bc you know there are a bunch of ways to outplay any specific enemy you face. If you hold the stance that having the ability to have a shotgun as a secondary for someone running a sniper as a primary- that that is game ruining bc it’s too OP- then you gotta say that for every game after bo3 that literally lets you have a shotgun as a secondary… it isn’t a problem in those games right? You don’t see more people becoming OP in those games bc of that ability. Yk why? Weapon balance. You can have marshals and someone who is twice the player as you can have the Rk5. And they’re gonna beat u bc they’re gonna use better movement and game sense. If someone has a sniper and the marshals. Don’t beat them in long range or short range. Beat them in medium range. That’s where you can get the advantage bc their marshals can’t do damage on you bc of the lack of range. And the sniper has a slower ADS speed than your Assault rifle or SMG so even though it has the damage range, you have the swiftness to do damage first and make their aim unsteady bc of flinch 🤯 Crazy idea right??
I think more people should play this game this year instead of MW3. The game’s still active at least on PS4/5 and I never get bored of it. If you’re a new player and plan on picking it up I suggest waiting for a sale to get the version with all the dlc. Best CoD is Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2. I liked Black Ops 3 but I think that's only because it was surrounded by terrible CoDs like Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare, and WW2. You compare BO3 to actual good CoDs, and while it is decent, it's nowhere near close to being the same level.
BO3 was truly goated. The controller part I don't necessarily agree with. I found out switching to tactical on controller was the only thing that was absolutely necessary and learning a 2 button switch was so easy that from then on, any controller I had was going to be swapped to a tactical layout. I am actually now a believer in BO3 being the best COD bc of this video. I would always say that BO2 was the best but you explained perfectly why BO3 is just a step ahead. Bugs and glitches weren't absolutely heinous, nothing was uber rushed out, and at the end of the cycle, the game's potential for replay-ability rivaled so many previous CODs especially when Infinite Warfare came out right after.
What really made BO3 so great to me was the perk 6th sense, which basically eliminated camping from the game. Combined with balanced advanced movements, it forced you to rush but was not overdone with advanced movements

man those were the good days looking back at it, i played mw2 a lot. it was my first cod, but i was in 7th grade and had school and was grounded a lot from games so i probably only had 5-6 days on it, but shoot as an adult who was 20 living with his parents w/ a part time job i dont think any cod got as much time as BO3 did. i loved everyhting about the game. when i got tired with multiplayer i went zombies and vice versa. playing with friends everyday going on massive kill streaks, and just havin fun... i try to recapture that lightning in the bottle with other games and they always fall short. and with BO6 comin out got me nostaglic thinking about BO3 how was just so good, i never minded the future movement, i got used to it playing with southpaw and a normal controller and everything was so seamless ugh id kill to go back to that point in my life lol
Combine 24/7, how could I forget? 😮
Everyone say they hate the jet packs but.. it’s freakin jet packs and they’re cool, and they add some sauce and verticality to the gameplay. I hope they add jetpacks again to a future installment.
The skill gap, unique subtle design features, weapon traits were incredible
Every single weapon felt unique and had some viability.
@@cristhianmontoya6648 exactly!
The level of quality we got back then was insane. With the exception of IW, every CoD up until 2019 had something new and exciting to offer, rather than being a carbon copy of the last one. The games were innovative, yet polished and overflowing with identity. The pinnacle of gaming.

Infinite warfare is my favorite. I wish they made more interesting maps for MP. and a survival mode (like MW3 special ops).
It is crazy to look back and realize how much care and work went into maps. These maps had such a unique identity on every one of them. Now, most of the maps are remasters and cut out parts of larger maps and dev resources seem to be just focused on skins. Not a great trend.
Looking back in retrospect... you're absolutely right.
Been saying this forever. It’s my favorite game of all time and people only don’t like it because it has advanced movement and people aren’t good enough to make use of it.
I 100% agree, BO 3 movement and mechanics just felt so smooth, and the TTK was on point!

I loved that they had the Free Run mode to get people to practice with the new movement, too.
As someone that likes Infinite Warfare the most, this was a really good video diving back into bo3. To me, iw and bo3 are the yin and yang of advanced movement cods. Both are spectacular experiences and both give you different reasons to play each other. Bo3 leans into digital vr warfare, iw leans into its campaign world with the dark and dreadful undertones... they have immersive black market/quartermasters, iw has mission teams, they have great mastery camos, iw added collections and easy challenges to get dlc guns, both games make most weapons have a specific role, the rigs and specialists are very identifiable, most maps were really good... great era man, I miss them
Man, recently playing BO3 zombies just reminded me about how much I missed this game and how much time I sunk into it's mulriplayer
There was just so much content in this game, not to mention the freerunning trials, which were fun in their own right

I rarely jump thrusted in BO3, but found a way to play every map successfully while keeping boots on the ground.
Yeah, all the maps can be played like every other COD. None of them force you to use advanced movement but it's more like an option
I wasn’t even spending a dollar and I had all weapons. Maybe I just had pack luck
This video was edited very well props to that guy he works hard
I wholeheartedly agree with this. Best cod by a mile.
Brilliant and novel weapons, superb maps and gameplay was so enjoyable. I still have it installed and jump on from time to time.
This is the cod i started watching you!
best thing about the campaign was the fact that it had multiplayer, i remember going through it on realism difficulty with my squad, it was a blast
only downside was lootboxes and how rare it was to get the weapons, thankfully i managed to play enough that i was able to get all of them without paying a single penny.
*It's all fun and games until you realize there are more GAME CHANGING WEAPONS in the loot boxes than what comes with the base game.*
*And i don't care what you say about immersion breaking skins or all the "good" camos being in the store these days. Loot boxes were completely anti-consumer. There are people who still play this game to this day and they still don't have all the weapons. Leave loot boxes to the free to play gacha games with anime women.*
The lootboxes would be fine if they only had cosmetics

WW2 had people angry at the setting, BO4 had the people angry about the lootboxes and zombies changes. world at war people were mad at the setting, mw2 people were mad at the noobtubes and quickscoping, black ops 1 and MW3 some people were mad at the lack of growth/innovation in the franchise. and obviously IW/ghosts/AW had a bunch of complaints then and since
For me it was infinite warfare. Give me back the high skill gap and advanced smooth movement❤️
I couldn’t agree more.
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One is obviously the best
Finally a good take
I'd like to see more of these "looking back at previous CoDs" type of videos" from you. Been watching you since 2011 and I'm curious about how fondly (or not) you feel about the older games at this point in time. Stay healthy brother!
Why does everyone seem to forgot Black Ops 1. That was easily my favorite COD. The campaign was awesome and so was the multiplayer. We still talk about "what do the numbers mean, mason" to this day. Also how could I forget zombies.
Because the love for it is mostly nostalgia, it simply doesn't hold up like WAW, bo2 and bo3
Also another thing to mention about black ops 3 is it by far had the longest life cycle for any call of duty, have new content being added from 2015-2018, and ever getting updates and patches after that. There were multiple weapons and events going on years after release, and even extra maps and dlc 5 and 6
Black ops 1 is truly COD before it became too big for itself, therefore it's the best COD.

Why is everyone so pressed ab supply drop weapons. Y’all use the same exact gun every single game on warzone😭😭
Y’all act like y’all switch weapons every 2 minutes into the game.
@@P4brotagonist you mean just like if anybody is running a shotgun in game🤦🏾♂️ just outplay your opponent bro, not that hard.
And the sniper has a slower ADS speed than your Assault rifle or SMG so even though it has the damage range, you have the swiftness to do damage first and make their aim unsteady bc of flinch 🤯
Crazy idea right??
I think more people should play this game this year instead of MW3.
The game’s still active at least on PS4/5 and I never get bored of it. If you’re a new player and plan on picking it up I suggest waiting for a sale to get the version with all the dlc.

Yeah it's crazy to hear anyone compare BO3 to any of the classics from the late 2000's and early 2010's
