ATTENTION: It’s silly that I even have to say this, because it’s clear in the video. However, it appears as though a few of the classic smooth brain COD “purists” slipped through the cracks. I mean, the type of people that just cannot process information and instead write angry rebuttals to non-existent talking points. 1. Never once in this video do I claim that Black Ops is the BEST Call of Duty. The title is “There will NEVER be another Call of Duty like THIS…” not “This is the greatest Call of Duty.” There’s a huge difference. It’s possible to like one game without shitting on another. MW2 is literally my first cod and I don’t have an official ranking. That’s why I say top 3. 2. Before I say a single thing about Zombies, I say “in my opinion.” Which means I’m speaking from my POV and how I feel. Plus, it’s not even a main point, it’s literally a side bar. 3. This one is just a reminder that, your opinion is just an opinion. People say “you didn’t even mention the bad things…” Well, maybe that’s because they weren’t bad to me or the majority of people? The point of the video is to reminisce on Black Ops from a fan's POV. Okay, that’s it. 🤣
I don't even understand how people can be "purists" when almost ever COD back then was a banger, shit will never be the same sadly, new COD just feels like a cash grab at this point.
Nah but this is the greatest call of duty, everything you said in the video is correct, even the zombies point. It's not the best zombies mode obviously but it is 100% the most iconic and the game in which boosted the mode to literal mainstream popularly. Maps, game modes, customization, zombies, campaign, characters, camos, guns and more... This game did not miss with anything.
I kind of did and did not like I’ve been a regular in waw since 2015 but I could’ve been a regular a lot sooner around mid 2012 after I graduate high school if not, after that but partially playing the game at times, because of bo2 and mw3 then and other games that I’ve took interest in before 2015. I also wish that I played on high sensitivity a lot sooner years ago instead of sticking to two or three. Most of my life playing I play on six now and I could play a lot better against decent players if I can sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone but the reason why I kind of avoided world at war back then like I barely played every day was because of modders ruining it at one point around the mid 2010s or so we got people like randoms and regulars to report modders for ruining the game, and some of them actually got banned
@@davidherene6365 I’ll be honest, I never played WaW so I don’t know if it is, I was just basing it off my experience, so I might go play that at some point and see
Black ops 1 had the most iconic, deeply written story, with elements still referenced in memes to this day. It never deviated from it's theme, but still got creative with it's mechanics. Its menu was a game in itself which allowed you to break from the chair. It was the game where zombies found it's foundation to build upon in BO2 and 3, and the multiplayer was probably the most simple and balanced I've ever experienced. Everything about it was fueled with passion
Wager Matches was a genius move that complimented the COD point system. After I unlocked everything (I never prestiged because i wanted to keep everything), I just hit the wager matches to try and grow more cod points. There were many times I was salty that I lost a lot of points but it was such an addicting feature.
The good old days. I met two of my dearest friends with Black Ops 1 that i sadly have no clue where are now in life. I even preferred the shotguns over everything and my combat record the top 5 guns in kills in order was Spas-12, Stakeout, HS10, Olympia & M60. God I miss those days so damm much.
I´ve never seen someone give so much love to Black Ops 1, truly one of the most underrated CODs to exist. Thankful for all the time I´ve spent in these lobbies!
BO1 was truly legendary and is highly underrated. I was so disappointed that the CoD point/gambling system never came back to the game, High Roller matches had my 10 year old self white-knuckling the controller. I have so many good things to say about this game, but you pretty much covered all of them. My favorite memory from this game is when the 4th DLC, Rezurrection, dropped back when Xbox got the map packs a month early. Xbox got it on Aug 23rd, but when I checked the PS Store on my birthday (Sep 22) I saw that the pack went live and I played it all night long with my best friend. My child brain thought that the stars aligned and it was released a day early by mistake just for me LMAO. I have so many fond memories of this game, I'm sad that newer generations won't be able to experience it in its prime. The three-game run of MW2, BO1, and MW3, was easily peak CoD. BO2 was great, but IMO it marked the beginning of CoD's decline. Especially in the zombies mode, all of the new non-zombie enemies & the lore-shift in BO2 ruined the dark and gritty atmosphere that BO1 did so well. I will die on this hill.
Your video randomly showed up in my feed and now I am filled with nostalgia for simpler times. Black Ops 1 was all that 14 year old me cared about, will forever be one of my favorite games of all time
This deserves way more views, this was an awesome watch, I completely forgot you could just outright buy gold for your guns and that there was even a face paint feature back then. Thinking of it now, this game was just so ahead of its time. Anyways thanks man!
I refuse to call this CoD “Black Ops 1” because it will always be the one and only Black Ops for me. I’ve never spent more time playing a CoD than with Black Ops. These 1.5 years were absolutely epic. Right after I finished assembling my first own PC, BO was installed and I went nuts. Every day online for at least 2 to 3 hours. My mother furiously stormed my room at 3 o’clock in the morning shouting why I’m still playing. Legendary times. Will always be kept in my heart.❤😢
Haha, that’s awesome. I feel the same, but it’s different when you’re making content. I wanted to be universal for more people outside of the community to understand. ❤️
This COD does hold a special place in my heart. I played since COD 3 , but this was the first one where I got to play with my friends, it made my skin tougher when insults were thrown. I even met a few small youtubers and we played wager matches on weekends. I do miss those times
Cod black ops was my favourite. It was the 2nd cod game I played.. and the MLG/gamebattles and tournaments were so fun. Fariko , envy, optic, obey all those teams back then were awesome to play with. Being flown out to tournaments by our sponsors was the best feeling ever that this was all due to being good at a video game. I was a freshman in HS running home to scrim for tourneys and spending countless hours practicing strats and having to sit with the grub that was hired to find the best nade lineups, lines of sights, jump peeks etc.. good times
god damn.. these old MW2 and MW3 trickshot montages give me goosebumps all the time, i fucking miss these days. Simple COD Gameplay with the best community back then. Times will never be the same, sadly.
BO1 was my first ever cod. BO1 and BO2 are easily the 2 greatest cods of all time! The BO1 campaign is legendary and the memories I had in multiplayer and zombies will never be replicated. Getting home from school each day and hopping on with the boys lol. Good times. Wish I could go back and experience it all again.
this is super well made dude. as a fellow bo1 aficionado, you somehow hit every nail on the head. i have been a part of just about every sub community cod had to offer and you covered just about all of them in just a 16 minute video
I appreciate that, my guy! I’m glad it has been received well. Most of this video I made from just reminiscing. 🔥 Plus, I’m addicted to playing this game again. 😂
The era is a great point, and would be higher on my list. Everyone wasn’t trying to be a streamer and a “CoD GOD.” You could literally meet cool people who worked or went to school and just liked to have fun trying to get kills on the game in their spare time. Also, people who did have mics weren’t always in private chat like Discord or Party Chat, so sometimes you’d get a lot of the competitive trash talk in pregame lobbies after an intense match. Then you could do it all over again until you made them back out.
Yeah Black ops 1 was the first call of duty I ever owned, and it has always been my favorite. I love the time period, The weapons, the zombies, and that it wasn't too complicated
I always mention how amazing the black ops money (cod points) system was. It really existed at a perfect point in time (no microtransactions) and was so revolutionary at the time. I LOVED the wager matches, trolling people by just running around doing knifing/humiliations was the best.
wow, this was a great watch. can’t believe it was your first vid! expected to see a couple hundred k on there when the video ended and i clicked out. keep up the good work!
I remember going to game stop at 12 a.m to buy black ops 1 when it came out .man I was 14 years old I remember my dad took me and they had a brand new Jeep wrangler black ops addition, what a truly special time .
So nice to meet a fellow scholar who recognizes the goat status of bo1 zombies. Man those times were just special. Kino & Ascension have a special place in my heart.
i´m 32 ... i never tought i would say this ... but i miss the Toxic Voice Chat in the OG Lobbys =) Gen Z would be so offended by the language everyone used back then ( i´m sorry my english is not so good - i´m from Italy )
Such a well made game. I miss those days so watching this video was a whole lot of nostalgia I needed. Also, my wholesome boy hoodie is still my top favorite hoodie to this day.
man i thought i was watching a channel with at LEAST 100k subs. its a matter of time till you start to hit it real big if you keep on staying consistent and improving your formula brother i wish you the best
Another reason thats underrated was the perk system in the game. To get "Pro" on a perk you had to do different challenges and it was tough. I remember for marathon pro you had to capture a flag 15 times.
Man I reached 15th prestige on 2 diff accounts and had to do this challenge SO many times. I think you also had to run a certain distance as well as capturing the flags. I always ran Ghost, Slight of hand and Marathon :)
I always say MW2 is my favorite, but hearing you out definitely brought back some memories. I got Black Ops on Christmas and played all winter break. Still playing Kino to this day.
Besides the gameplay bo1 was just straight interesting in every aspect. The campaign explored proxy wars of the 60s, had lots of references to real life events, great original characters, an amazing story, mp maps on unique locations, the zombies mode was reaching new hights, it had good gun sounds (they were not realistic as such, but far superior to those of mw2 and were simply appealing). It just had its own identity within the franchise and the rest of the game unlike today that cod is a generic BR platform to sell skins and advertisements for other media like movies. The devs back then genuinly had passion for their games
mw2: gunplay & killstreaks were overpowered, and thats why it was awesome black ops: gunplay & killstreaks were underpowered, and thats why it was awesome both had stellar maps, which in my opinion is probably the next most important aspect of an FPS. both are tied at #1 for me.
There was a certain feeling to this era of gaming, a certain euphoria you would get when loading up the game and going through the menus till you reached multiplayer. It’s a feeling that my 11 year old self at the time has never been able to recapture after! The immersive serious nature while still being arcade like and goofy is something I don’t think we will ever see!
Im totally with you on this!! I played almost all of the cods back then but black ops 1 is still my favourite to this day! I share lot of the reasons you said in the video and honestly this campaign+zombies+multiplayer combo was the best in my opinion.
Awesome video man, there seems to be a resurgence of old COD video essays right now and I love it. Also, hearing Chris Smoove clip was something else, I was always sad he left COD and went to just sports games. He was one of my favourites
Great video! I totally agree with everything. My bday is Nov 10th told my parents all I wanted was this! Put 42days on it played it till 2016 cuz i never bought xbox one. The 360 carried me for so long till 2017 or so
Thank you! I remember begging my dad for this game and guitar hero. 😂 I was the same way, I was on the 360 until I could finally afford my own PC in 2016, haha.
Im sure many have forgotten over time, but there was a time during Black Ops 2 where it felt like the whole world hated a man named David Vanderhaar lol.
Perhaps it might never be as it was. Thus making it far more special because of the life experiences we had only time will tell but I think the kids playing cod 2024 will reminisce the same way we are rn
Bo1 really was one of the greatest cods it added so much customization and replay ability, we had custom matches with so many settings we could tweak, we also got theatre mode which is something cod seems to be scared to add back and to top it all off the most memorable zombies map of all time, Bo1 really was the full package and even the dlc were straight bangers
Love how everybody was like "Treyarch does it right everytime!" and now Treyarch pretty much just follows Infinity Ward on how to create Call of Duty. I mean realistically, we've never had any 3-lane maps that played like Nuketown, Firing Range, Summit, or Havana. They give players the "illusion" of Three Lane maps except you don't stay within those three lanes. You can jump between windows or crouch under cover to swap between lanes.
100% agreed. Cod4-WaW got me turned on to FPS Mw2 got me straight up addicted to COD Black ops changed my life…. Lifelong friendships, mid night releases, and I haven’t put the series down since for better or worse.
I honestly cried a bit at 14:15. Early 2010s UA-cam was a defining time in my childhood and I hope the next generation has as much fun watching UA-cam as I did all those years ago
To be fair, before gold guns were popular - the AUTUMN cammo was the best 7u7 top tier cammo It fell out of favor to GOLD after GOLD was introduced in BO1 :b
black ops came out on my 20th birthday and i got it as a random present that day. I had never played a call of duty game at that point because I was more into racing games and stuff at the time. gaming for me, especially as an adult started that day. what a great game.
Black ops 1 is where I started my CoD journey, absolutely loved it, racked up so many hrs and in combat training too. Would be sitting at a close 2nd as my favourite cod of all time with the winner being BO2
in my opinion, BO3 is the GOAT, had the best zombies experience, and the multiplayer had a good skill gap with the thrusters and that didn’t promote a camping play style. MW3, BO2 were also really good too
I agree with you man. That jetpack just added that much more skill for the good players, and like you said it deincentivized camping. Man what a good game
@@zombie-yellow I respect it. I was too young to truly appreciate those games. I think I played waw twice and bf2 once at friends houses. They’re definitely good but personally can’t say they’re great bc I didn’t experience it in its prime
@@zombie-yellow Battlefield 2 is a different kind of era i'd say. At that time it was amazing and I've definitely had countless hours of fun but now looking back at both titles i can't say it was better than Battlefield 3. Battlefield 2 is for sure the most nostalgic one though, always will be. That's where Battlefield started for me. Can't agree on MW though. Again for the time we had it it was amazing but i'd even put COD2 and WaW over 4. Black Ops 1 and the original MW3 were the best ones of both those series imo though.
9:26 WaW had coloured clan tags but it was more an easter egg, had to have the colour name as your tag. Dope video, trip down memory lane is a common occurance nowadays, I miss the old games sm :/
If you got to play BO1 on steam in its prime, you've experienced something no one will ever experience again; Dedicated servers with rules (l96 qs only, nuke only, no camping snd, etc), and unranked servers like modded mp zombies. Fucking masterpiece
i’m remember doing the swimming glitch on Launch. running the stakeout, ballistic knife and tomahawks on nuketown. and making people view this one picture in theater mode that logged you out of PSN. so many good memories 😂
The people who say BO2 was the best cod are the 6 year old squeakers who weren’t there for BO1. Bo1 lives on memes. “The numbers” “the main menu” “kino”. Peak!
I was more of an MW2 fan but I still have a lot of good memories of black ops. It was a good game and is up there as one of the best call of duty games
My first cod was mw2, but I was late to the party, so glad I got to play black ops when it was it's time. It wasn't just a special time for cod but for gaming in general. The 7th generation of consoles was the kind of golden age for a type of media that only comes a few times a generation.
I'll say yes on everything you said, but you got to love the fact that the brand started off moody/darker colored because then the contrast will be great when they go to a more bright feeling.
eh, this is almost perfect except the zombies. when it comes to zombies, they are all the best. it depends on what kind of zombies you want to play and what maps you feel like. i switch between all of them all the time.
Just seeing the operator wearing flak jacket as the thumbnail brought back so much nostalgia lol. I wonder why they don’t do that anymore, based on your perks it changed your appearance. Ghost would give you a gilly suit, lightweight would make you look more of a sprinter build and apparel.

LMFAO, I think in someways… all of us do. 😂
This was my first cod and I feel like it had the most soul out of all the cods. Perfect campaign, multiplayer, and zombies
Such a well made game. I miss those days so watching this video was a whole lot of nostalgia I needed.
Also, my wholesome boy hoodie is still my top favorite hoodie to this day.
@@xNoxxie FACTS!
Genuinely the only game I stayed up all night playing with the boys sundown to sunrise. Incredible memories
Quick scoping is done & Logic is considered a corn ball. I’m getting old 😂
the logic soundtrack killed me. i love it
man i thought i was watching a channel with at LEAST 100k subs. its a matter of time till you start to hit it real big if you keep on staying consistent and improving your formula brother i wish you the best
Midnight launches was great. Now everyone just sits on their screens waiting for the game to unlock
My brother, that hits right in the feelings. Great video and thank you !
I'm glad. I appreciate you watching!!
I didn’t like black ops 1 when it first came out. Then fell in love with it ❤️
mw2: gunplay & killstreaks were overpowered, and thats why it was awesome
black ops: gunplay & killstreaks were underpowered, and thats why it was awesome
both had stellar maps, which in my opinion is probably the next most important aspect of an FPS. both are tied at #1 for me.
I completely agree! 🔥
MW2 was better
@@Yt_channel_lolcope
There was a certain feeling to this era of gaming, a certain euphoria you would get when loading up the game and going through the menus till you reached multiplayer. It’s a feeling that my 11 year old self at the time has never been able to recapture after! The immersive serious nature while still being arcade like and goofy is something I don’t think we will ever see!
4:30 is the most Documentary bit ever
LMAO, once I edited this part and played it back, I thought the same thing 😂😂
2:36 bro goosebumps.
Im totally with you on this!! I played almost all of the cods back then but black ops 1 is still my favourite to this day! I share lot of the reasons you said in the video and honestly this campaign+zombies+multiplayer combo was the best in my opinion.
I don’t know why but the pewdiepie clip gave me goosebumps, black ops was a genuine og
He only had 100 subs around that time... wild.
Awesome video man, there seems to be a resurgence of old COD video essays right now and I love it. Also, hearing Chris Smoove clip was something else, I was always sad he left COD and went to just sports games. He was one of my favourites
Thanks brother! I miss Chris Smoove playing COD too. 😂
Dude that clip of the midnight launch in Southlake Texas brings so much nostalgia
Dude, you should look up all the videos for Black Ops midnight release. Every single one is so nostalgic! ❤️
Im sure many have forgotten over time, but there was a time during Black Ops 2 where it felt like the whole world hated a man named David Vanderhaar lol.
People have always hated that guy. 😂
Great to see people still appreciating my favorite cod game to this day.
Perhaps it might never be as it was. Thus making it far more special because of the life experiences we had only time will tell but I think the kids playing cod 2024 will reminisce the same way we are rn
It's true. We're old.
Sledgehammer is the best right now, imo!
100% agreed.
Cod4-WaW got me turned on to FPS
Mw2 got me straight up addicted to COD
Black ops changed my life…. Lifelong friendships, mid night releases, and I haven’t put the series down since for better or worse.
amazing video
I appreciate you! ❤️
Beautiful Video. I am most definetly grateful to experience it when I was 12-13 years old
Dude used to sleep outside game stop for the new COD.
Who stands a chance against a human like that 🤣🤣🤣
Lmaoooooo
I honestly cried a bit at 14:15. Early 2010s UA-cam was a defining time in my childhood and I hope the next generation has as much fun watching UA-cam as I did all those years ago
This is actually nutty, love this video. Long live black ops 1
Yessir! And thank you!
This was such a well done video. Chills when you started playing all the old UA-camr intros
I appreciate that, brother! ❤️ I have a secret for you… You’re going to like my next video based off your username. 😏
@@Soberse haha sick man! Skateboarding is dope. Just dropped a sub keep up the good videos 💪
To be fair, before gold guns were popular - the AUTUMN cammo was the best 7u7 top tier cammo
It fell out of favor to GOLD after GOLD was introduced in BO1 :b
bo1 Gold in general was just different. It was very flashy
@@eligreg99 BO1 Gold was definitely THE BEST of all time >>:)
No other game has had as good looking GOLD cammos as BO1 in my opinion
black ops came out on my 20th birthday and i got it as a random present that day. I had never played a call of duty game at that point because I was more into racing games and stuff at the time. gaming for me, especially as an adult started that day. what a great game.
Yes there will, when they inevitably remake it.
Touchè 😂
Black ops 1 is where I started my CoD journey, absolutely loved it, racked up so many hrs and in combat training too. Would be sitting at a close 2nd as my favourite cod of all time with the winner being BO2
in my opinion, BO3 is the GOAT, had the best zombies experience, and the multiplayer had a good skill gap with the thrusters and that didn’t promote a camping play style. MW3, BO2 were also really good too
A lot of people like BO3. I never understood it. I really tried liking that game, but couldn’t. 😂
I agree with you man. That jetpack just added that much more skill for the good players, and like you said it deincentivized camping.
Man what a good game
Make more videos like this, watched the whole thing through and enjoyed all of it. Very relatable experience
Thank you my guy! 🙏🏼
Damn dawg this video is special and belongs in museum, the world was a different place back then, bless all who got to know what that was like
Haha, thanks my guy! 🔥
The best COD and the best Battlefield both came out in 2011. What a year.
FACT BF3 and Bo1 best fps shooter of all time
The best Battlefield was Battlefield 2 in 2005 and the best CoD was Call of Duty 4 in 2007, sorry ;)
@@zombie-yellow I respect it. I was too young to truly appreciate those games. I think I played waw twice and bf2 once at friends houses. They’re definitely good but personally can’t say they’re great bc I didn’t experience it in its prime
@@zombie-yellow
Battlefield 2 is a different kind of era i'd say.
Thank you brother! 🔥
If you got to play BO1 on steam in its prime, you've experienced something no one will ever experience again;
Dedicated servers with rules (l96 qs only, nuke only, no camping snd, etc), and unranked servers like modded mp zombies.
Fucking masterpiece
How does this fella only have 2k subs. Like wtf, this one of the best put together video I’ve ever watched
I appreciate that my guy! The 2K subs is from super old videos no longer on my channel. 😂 This is my first decent video uploaded to be honest.
@@Soberse well you did an excellent job my man! Definitely earned another one and keep up the good work, I’m sure you’ll blow up fast
BO1 is literally the perfect COD
I agree! 🔥
My first cod. I played before avidly, even as a small kid, but this game got me into video games properly.
Best cod of all time no doubt!!
Straight up!
i’m remember doing the swimming glitch on Launch. running the stakeout, ballistic knife and tomahawks on nuketown. and making people view this one picture in theater mode that logged you out of PSN. so many good memories 😂
The people who say BO2 was the best cod are the 6 year old squeakers who weren’t there for BO1.
Bo1 lives on memes. “The numbers” “the main menu” “kino”. Peak!
I normally don't like videos like this, but you had me captivated and reminiscing on the old days
I normally don't make videos like this, but I loved this game so it felt right, lol.
SHEEEEEEESH
hope the algorithm blesses you ! Great work again 🙏🏻🙏🏻 im glad we can all feel the same about some things.
Thank you brother! 🙏🏼
Best COD ever made and it's not even close.
I'll say yes on everything you said, but you got to love the fact that the brand started off moody/darker colored because then the contrast will be great when they go to a more bright feeling.
BO1 - best campaign
BO2 - best multiplayer
BO3 - best zombies
mw2, bo1, 2019 mw, cod 4 all the best.
BO4 best microtransactions
LMAO
eh, this is almost perfect except the zombies. when it comes to zombies, they are all the best. it depends on what kind of zombies you want to play and what maps you feel like. i switch between all of them all the time.
@@ImNotFine44 Agreed 100%. I just think BO3 is the most polished zombies has ever been.
You just brought me back to my childhood😭 liked and subbed.
I appreciate you!
What’s your favorite memory from Black Ops? 🤔
Getting to the b knife in gun game and then knifing everyone 😏 The adrenaline rush was great lol
Just seeing the operator wearing flak jacket as the thumbnail brought back so much nostalgia lol. I wonder why they don’t do that anymore, based on your perks it changed your appearance. Ghost would give you a gilly suit, lightweight would make you look more of a sprinter build and apparel.
Because they make so much money from skins, probably. 🤔
@@Soberse nah most definitely, I miss the originality👨🏻🌾
