Hey there , great blog as always , tip , if your drill bit gets stuck , put the drill in reverse , it will often extract itself. Keep.up the hard work and the window is going to be a great addition.
Sinead is right. You are doing the window at the right time. All the lessons you’ve learned over the past couple of years about stone cutting and laying are leading to an amazingly accomplished result. Go you!!
Let there be light...inside the tiny house! I wonder if the window is low enough so that when you are sitting on the couch you will be able to see the beautiful view.

How exciting- the window project is coming along! 🎉what if the avocado tree was overwintered in one of the poly tunnels? It may fair better if it grew a bit stronger before going in the ground- just a thought
Nice idea but I think having it beside the house with the stones radiating the heat will be ok, that's where it was last winter. Plus it'll be easier to water there... but I'll be monitoring the situation and could move it. Thanks!

Just look at that!! It seems to be going pretty smoothly. I appreciate your love of working with stone, you have a natural way about you when you're doing it. It never gets old. That is one great view. I'm thinking how all the light is going to inspire all sorts of things. Tracy has really bounced back to beautiful. Thanks for having me over.
I can see right out the window from the desk where I work on my computer... I'm very pleased about it all! I hope things continue to go ok... Tracy seems to come and go depending on the weather but it's always lovely to see her in bloom!
Congratulations on the "almost complete" window! It is going to give you light, love and a splendid view! As to your snail emblem, I totally understand your reasoning behind it. However, could you just get some of the spectacular blue from your door into it? It could represent this beautiful window, so long in coming and now so beautiful and so much a part of your home! It could also represent your wonderful pool!
Thanks! I've still got a long way to go! Yes the snail definitely needs more colour and blue would make the most sense. I'll get back to work on that on a rainy day soon, no doubt. Rains should be here soon enough!
Great progress with the window, it's certainly a game changer. You won't know yourself once it's done. Your house won't seem as gloomy in the winter months.
It is fun to watch you work with the stone. Obviously, all your experience working with rock has given you the craftswomanship to build a big window. Kudos

Nice window! The light it lets into the house is wonderful! Avocado trees like very well drained soil. Probably why they do better in pots than in the ground.
@@PortugalfromScratch You can plant small trees with wire mesh, like chicken wire, but maybe with smaller holes if you have voles. By the time the wire disintegrates in the ground the tree is big enough to withstand being gnawed on.

hi Kirsty. When I worked for a home builder in the Southern California desert. They always planted the trees in winter. Or sure if it was just in the desert you do that or not
I think with sensitive trees like mangos and avocados I'd rather give them the summer to get strong in the ground and if I water them a lot 'm hoping for the best. But ya, that's the usual thing and maybe I'll do that... let's see.
