I love volunteers in the garden! You can just store them in a cool place somewhere and have roast squash all winter long. I've been dying for you to trim the front olive tree, so yay! Looks good.
I believe that is a Linden tree, Tília, in Portuguese. They give great shade and tea. It will send out a lovely perfume two months out of the year. I’m growing one myself. They take a long time to grow, but once they do, they become huge trees. They are a symbol of truth and justice. One can’t tell a lie under the linden tree. I love your videos. Hope to one day meet you and your friend. I’m here in the US, but I have a home further north from you, by Serra da Estrela.
I'm just watching you marvel at your new Kebtek clipper "on a stick"; I don't think I've ever seen you so happy! Give a Canadian gal a great tool and she goes to town on her farm!! 😆 Your trees already look beautiful! The tree in front of your home will have lots of new branches in short order. The only negative aspect of pruning is the work clearing up afterwards. I'd have as much fun if I had the same opportunity and I'm reveling in your tidied tress as if I'd done the work myself. My daughter's hubby just prepared his hot sauce and I believe he was wearing a face mask and goggles to do so. Kerry's house looks wonderful. I love the view out of your window and it must feel great to know you'll have sun streaming in during the winter. That's a timely project, indeed. Thank you for sharing your wonderful life in Portugal Kirsty! Have a great week! Angela

The new tree trimmer is great. It will be so handy for cleaning up the olive trees. A clear view from the window would nice. If you put in Mullins maybe only one per side.

@@PortugalfromScratch the neem in India is medicinal…. It’s leaves n fruits are super bitter for sure but not toxic…it gives serious shade in summer …..
Thanks for another great video Kirsty. I loved the window workspace, maybe you could make a large board to eventually cover the sink that’ll be there, so that you can use as a workspace when sink isn’t in use?
Actually I had that thought afterwards! It’s a conning thing I’ve seen… I think some sinks even come with that feature built in. Something to look into, for sure!
Cld u redesign the kitchen so that your window sill is yr prep area and your sink goes next to it somewhere? As you probs spend more time prepping than dishes?? Just a thought.
I could not help chuckling when you wete chopping up the chilli peppers! 😂 Been there, done that myself! 😂. Do you have to 'burp' the fermented chillies?
Ghost chillies..... Jesus, have you ever tried one? I'm from California and I'm accustomed to hot food but when the pepper is too hot it takes over the food and numbs your taste buds.
@@jackvanleeuwenkamp4706 I'm stubborn like that too. Many of us just have to learn for ourselves. I thought no pepper was too hot for me but we tried ghost pepper Monterey cheese too. The acid made the cheese soft as pudding and we eventually threw it away. :)

Thanks!
Neem fruit can be used on skin when u grind it or u can just swallow one for stomach health n general wellness….boil neem leaves in water and mix with bathing water and that helps in skin problems..
I thought neem was quite toxic. I’m not sure this is a usual neem tree… I must ask my friend for the specific type.
Wow... that is some pretty serious hot chili sauce. I guess the chili recipe gets written around the sauce....lol
It's going to be fierce!
yay,i guessed 7
Woohoo!
You blend them with the seeds?
Yes indeed! That's what the recipe calls for.
Here in the US the police often use pepper spray...you can see why now. 😮
😂😂
Yep!
another 4 perhaps?
Correct!
Cld u redesign the kitchen so that your window sill is yr prep area and your sink goes next to it somewhere? As you probs spend more time prepping than dishes?? Just a thought.
I'm now thinking that I'll put a prep board over the sink... I've seen this design in lots of tiny houses. 🙂
Hello friends❤
Hi!
Just for a moment I thought “girl who plays with mud” had ditched the baseball cap!
Haha, nah.
The Log lintel over the window looks like a snake
Ya sort of!
I could not help chuckling when you wete chopping up the chilli peppers! 😂 Been there, done that myself! 😂. Do you have to 'burp' the fermented chillies?
Haha ya it was a surprise! I've been burping them but they don't seem to be doing much... 😁
@@PortugalfromScratch maybe if plenty of space in the jar not noticing build up of gas?
you need a good wood chipper.
Definitely but my tool budget is long spent... hoping Sanchia will pick one up for use in her forest. 😁
8 squash
😬
Ghost chillies..... Jesus, have you ever tried one? I'm from California and I'm accustomed to hot food but when the pepper is too hot it takes over the food and numbs your taste buds.
Hahaha I warned her too on the last video! ❤️🇨🇦
It's actually not as hot as I expected... maybe they're defective! 😁
@@PortugalfromScratch hmmmm I wonder if they are habanero peppers….. still very hot but won’t make you sick….. The great pepper mystery 😂 ❤️🇨🇦
@@PortugalfromScratch Jalapenos have been dumbed down to hardly be hot at all so maybe they're different now. We didn't even like their flavor back then.
