What replacement h7 bulbs will work with these with out messing with the whole light? I have the same ones tried replacing with h7 led but they starting buzzing
I had a set in my Ranger! They look good but from my experience it wouldn’t get another pair! I installed just fine but after few months the turn signal socket broke and caused oxygen in the headlights. Replaced broken parts. Got warranty swap since it was in for 3 months and it happened again but 6 months later. It was easy install and look nice! I just wouldn’t get it again.
They are Spyder brand housings and they are holding up pretty well actually, I have some clear coat issues inside the housings and that’s what made me do the white vinyl on top but other then that I don’t really have any complaints.
I did it exactly as you did, but my driver side turn signal isn’t working (possible bulb) but also my passenger side blinks with turn signal. Is this a grounding issue?
@@Cargill450 no, my driver side works just fine including the accent bar. The passenger side headlights work but the accent bar only lights up when I use my turn signal
You can do that too if your truck has the DRL you can tap into that if you would like. The only thing I'm not sure of is if you totally bypass and change over the DRL if it would mess with the CANBUS system 🤔 if you just tie into the DRL and keep them working as well you should be fine
i bought spyder headlights for my 3rd gen ram and wired the drl into a relay and wired the trigger wire into the relay pod under the hood. power for the drl themselves comes from a lea off of the battery
Thank you for your video. I added some aftermarket DRL to my 08 Dodge Ram everything works good, I added resistors to it and it all worked out. Only thing is now that I use my key fob to unlock/lock my truck my passenger side DRL doesn't engage only the one on the driver side.. any ideas as to why?? Could it be a ground issue or a short?
@@Cargill450 yes they do. They work perfectly fine the only thing is the passenger side DRL doesn't come on when I use my key fob. It was working before. This happened about 2 hours after installation,
@estevancota9581 that is really strange I’m not sure if I have a good answer for you on that one, maybe double check everything with a test light and double check fuses
@Cargill450 i meant the bulb on the right is that your headlight bulb for night because that daytime running light is real dim at night if i didnt have fog lights i could barely see at night 😅
Hey I’m looking for the same set of headlights, but I haven’t been able to find them on white.can you tell me where to order those pls. also thanks for the video of how to wired it.
Bro! This was ridiculously confusing and you timelapsed over the most important part. The title suggest how to wire the led light bar around the headlamp but you spent 99% of the time rambling about the turn signal and how to clip that. What actually powers the led strip?!
I'm not sure why, but I commented on here and it didn't show up for some reason. This will be my second attempt. Wanted to say, my truck has aftermarket headlights that are beginning to peel and I've looked at your style of lights many many times. I was wondering if you could tell me if the light project better or worse than factory. Sometimes aesthetics look great but preform poorly. Also, in regards to the front facing marker light. Although your way is Free, have you considered the switchback LED options that change from white daytime running mode, to amber based on when you have turn signal on? I have them on mine and they work fantastic and provide extra lighting up front.
The light output is decent, I would say they are better then stock but still not the greatest in my eyes. I have thought about switchbacks but I just haven't pulled the trigger on them.
The adjustment on these lights is a pain in the butt! You have to take the housing off, make a small adjustment and reinstall the housing to see if it's enough and you do that over and over and over...
What replacement h7 bulbs will work with these with out messing with the whole light? I have the same ones tried replacing with h7 led but they starting buzzing
Are you trying normal halogen bulbs or led bulbs?
@ I want switch them to LEDs right now they have the standard halogen that comes with it
That’s weird that they are buzzing, if you put LEDs in them make sure you use an anti flicker device
That purple cooler is sick asf
Thank you!!

Well you get what you pay for. Alpharex has been solid for almost two years in the California sun.
What brand are these and how do they last.

The passenger blinks while your trying the driver side?

@jrplants1 ahh I see, I would triple check your wires with a test light but it sounds to me like something is crossed somewhere.
Can the DRL’s be wired where they just come on automatically like stock ones? Mine says to tap into marker light like you’re doing.
You can do that too if your truck has the DRL you can tap into that if you would like. The only thing I'm not sure of is if you totally bypass and change over the DRL if it would mess with the CANBUS system 🤔 if you just tie into the DRL and keep them working as well you should be fine

You bet!! Anytime
Did you ever make a video on how to rebuild the halo's? I bought a used set and the passenger side halo and the tiny amber marker light don't work. 😢
Not yet, I really really need too but I have been dragging my feet to no end.
Well......get to it! 😅
I wired my the same way but the bar light isn't working my came with what looks like some connectors that takes a bulb but doesn't come with a plug.
Same with mine you have any issues later on?
i bought spyder headlights for my 3rd gen ram and wired the drl into a relay and wired the trigger wire into the relay pod under the hood. power for the drl themselves comes from a lea off of the battery
Can you do this without wiring a harness? Is it possible for the fiber optic drl to run without a harness?
I dont believe so, there is probably a way to do it where your not wiring into the truck harness but I just found this way to be easier.
What harness do I have to buy for my 2008 dodge ram 1500 3.7?

That light bulb doesnt work on the left side next to high beam bulb?
It is my turn signal bulb but I didn't want it as a marker bulb so I de-pinned that wire in the connector

Oh yeah the round light on the outside is your low beam

I ordered mine on Amazon

How’d you paint the top of the headlight? Or is it a sticker? Links??
I actually used vinyl wrap to do that little project.

What's the difference with the 3rd gen
I say that because you just never know

Anytime! I hope it helped
Awesome thanks 👍 ☺️
Where did you run the ground?
I just ran the ground into the ground circuit on the marker lights.
@@Cargill450 I appreciate that man
Any time!! Sorry to make it so blunt but I just piggy backed the entire circuit just so nothing weird happened

Why not just get a switch back bulb that way it’s white when the running lights are on ans amber with the turn signal
It’s definitely a good way to go, I just didn’t want that section to be lit up is all.

Nice one 😉👍🏻
Thank you Mike
You better make a video when you rebuild them, because im sure ill have to do mine too 🤣
😂😂 I need to start thinking about it pretty hard
@@Cargill450 you getting any closer to making that video?
I'm hoping so but I want to get a few other things done first
Man those headlights are just ugly. They went way overboard in the DRL 🤦🏻♂️
