Maybe some people hate when reactors pause, but I don't. I surely prefer you pause, than see you talk over the show and miss important parts! Love your reaction ;)
"Sansa has her sewing needles, I've got a Needle of my own". In Episode 1, Arya was absolutely miserable doing needlepoint stitching, while their Septor (Nanny) was praising Sansa's fine stitching. Love Arya's Sass
Septa. Kind of like a nun. The equivalent of priests and monks are called septons, and their houses of worship are called septs. Thew author of the books based those name on the Latin word for seven, as most people in the Seven Kingdoms are adherents of the Faith of the Seven. The seven gods (or possibly seven aspects of a single god) are the Mother, the Father, the Warrior, the Smith, the Maiden, the Crone and the Stranger (death).
That moment of Arya hating needlepoint felt exactly like my memories of my mother attempting to teach me sowing basics...I just hated it! But I didn't get a cool sword.😂
For Sophie and Maisie, the scene they auditioned for was not included in the series. Arya is brushing mud out of Nymeria's fur while Lady is spotlessly clean. Sansa is happy she gets to ride with the queen and sit on pillows and eat lemon cakes. Arya points out wagon has no windows, while she has learned names of several flowers, and will look in the river (Trident) for Rhaegar's rubies. Essentially, to run and play in the sun and look for Lizard Lions while Sansa sits in a dark wagon . Two sisters who have nothing in common, but yet are besties in real life.
If I remember correctly, Ned had a couple of his men bring Lady's body back to Winterfell to be buried, both to honor the pup and to make sure Cersei couldn't take her pelt as a trophy.
A bastard is a child born out of wedlock. It’s a word in our world as well. Since Ned had a baby that was not from his wife Kat that child can’t take the last name. Bastards from the north are snows, from Dorne they are the sands, then the flowers, etc Example: my mom had my sister before marriage so she is technically a bastard but I am not 😂
The thing that took me a while to get, since I'm an American, is just how worshipped the monarchy is in a setting like this. Like not only is Sansa only 13 (11 in the books!) So she's naive and in puppy love, but in her mind the royal family is on another level. You can't talk back to them, you can't hurt them, they're always pure and right. And Joffrey and the Queen up until this point always treated her kindly, so she doesn't know what we know about them. It's frustrating the way she acts, but it makes sense.
That's part of the reason but regardless it would have been the smart play. Sure helping the butchers boy is noble but think about the consequences. If Arya wasn't a stark she would be dead too and now the lannisters and Jeffrey who is projected to be sansa's husband has reason to dislike them. Worst it was for nothing as due to Arya escalating the situation instead of being bullied the butchers boy died. Arya was acting like Ned in this situation while Sansa was attempting to play the game.
Yeah, being loyal to your future husband and your family in law is a smart move. Not that they deserve that type of loyalty, but even so your life is easier if you behave like a dutiful future daughter in law.
Bruh, I’m crying laughing watching your reactions😂. I can already see that this will be a trip retaking the Game of Thrones journey with you. I can’t wait!
You MUST watch the opening credits, IN THEIR ENTIRETY, every single episode. They change and evolve and also tell the story throughout the series!!!! Keep up the awesome content!!
Jaime was an asshole to Jon because he was also warning him, Jaime joined the kingsguard when he was a kid same as Jon with the watch and grew up thinking it was a great honor but quickly learned it’s just a band of glorified criminals, same as the watch.
Others have said it already but I can tell this is probably gonna be one of my favorite reactions to this show. You pausing and even backing up to make sure you heard things right is fantastic. GOT fans everywhere will eat this up. Keep em coming bro! :)
😂 I said it before, but man, these reactions are fire! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride. In terms of the times, remember Drogo (and everyone) just decided women's jobs were to procreate. She's been abused all her life by her brother, and she's decided she doesn't want to have others control her fate. It's less about pleasing Drogo and more about taking her power back. Drogo is receptive to this too because he really wants a queen and a child, not to abuse a slave.
I had to pause and look up characters names at first. Even then, I wasn’t able to really follow what was going on until a couple seasons in. I had to rewatch the entire series over to fully enjoy GoT.
just a suggestion: have someone screen comments before you read them so that you don't get spoiled, even some well intentioned comments can be lowkey spoilery
Agreed! 💯 I don't understand why some trolls purposely want to ruin the experience for first time viewers. Why spoil the fun? Some people I just don't get! So I agree...this show has plenty of spoiler trolls that like to come out and spill away.😳
Hey again, No worries about pausing, do what u need to do. Besides, we're here for ur reaction and we fans of the show could watch a 1000 times over. Such a phenomenal show. Ooooooo, Be careful as the show goes on theres going to be some crazy moments that will get u hyped. Thanx so much, take care, Peace
Never understood why Cat was so anger at Jon, yet not Ned. It ain't Jons fault he's a bastard, it's Neds. I hate when people take things out of children.
Jon and Robb were born a few weeks apart. Jon is the eldest son. Should Ned decide to legitimize him as a Stark, he will inherit everything: the title, castle and lands. Cat fears for her children. But I agree with you, it is not fair to blame Jon and be mean to him.
Shes petty af. Id feel so bad treating a kid like that.. (17 is still a kid to me). Though, anyone who could take a crown is a threat. Henry the 8ths kids were at each others throats for stuff like that even though they loved each other as siblings. Henry was mean Af to his first daughter who was then mean af to Elizabeth because she was a threat to her right to be queen
You're absolutely correct, morally and logically speaking. But it's also important to understand. Catelyn, in her society, cannot really separate from Ned. She HAS to make that work, somehow, despite the fact that Ned raising a bastard in their home alongside her trueborn children is both an insult to her and her family, a potential future political threat against her children, and a daily reminder that her husband surely loved another woman dearly, since he's "going above and beyond" for this child. That's a lot to deal with, when you can't leave. Should Catelyn let herself hate Ned instead? If she did, she would have to live the rest of her or his life with someone she hates in her home, and have to accept sexual intimacy with someone she hates. That's a lot to ask someone to endure for years and years and years. It's not fair on Jon that he grows up feeling unwelcome, an outsider, in his own family; but it's also not fair on Catelyn, the situation she is in. It's also not right of her to lash out at Jon in her grief. But it's a very human thing to do, to say things we later regret when deep in grief. I just can't help feeling sorry for them both.
I think it's because it wasn't customary for a bastard to be raised in the house. While having a bastard or a few might have been fine if they were out of sight, the constant reminder might have been too much for her. Not defending her, btw cuz I could not stand her for how she treated Jon.
I was lost at first too, but after the first season it gets better. Once you get used to how things flow it doesn't seem as confusing anymore. No matter what they toss your way.
Subscribed to your patreon because omg I love these reactions!!! You actually pay attention to detail and are into it as much I was. I see you getting more subscribers soon! Best wishes to you!
You have chosen this mission of your own free will, therefore I hold no pity for you. But I shall bestow a few words of wisdom for your journey. Do not form an attachment with anyone. Be distant with your emotions, for they will enchant and betray you. And may the gods have mercy on your soul.
Eddard Stark is his full name. “Ned” is a shortened form, a nickname if you will. It’s like if the name on someone’s birth certificate is “William” but everyone and their mother calls the guy “Bill.”
The Starks were once kings (you keep calling Ned a king, though he is technically just "Lord" Stark). When the Targaryen (Daenerys and Viserys' ancestors) kings arrived on their dragons, they conquered seven kingdoms and made them one country. Keeping these seven territories unified is going to be a theme throughout the show. Though I think at this point you only really need to know the Starks (of the North) and the Lannisters (of the Westerlands).
Honestly , Jaime talking to Jon about the Night's watch and trying to dissuade him about this commitment was one of the few times he isn't a Dickhead . He just see himself i n the boy and understand "prestigious" vows that bind you for life are curses .
Common folk don’t have last names, just first names. Ned Stark is a lord and his “true born” children do take his name, but Jon doesn’t, because he’s a bastard. Jon’s last name is Snow. Bastards of lords take a specific name based on where they’re born. Bastards of northern lords are all named “Snow.”
All I could do was smile when you were handing all that sympathy out to Cersei. 🤣😅🤣 Never hesitate about pausing to understand what's goin on. This shows us you're actually interested and that is something the GOT family really love! What an absolutely outstanding reaction! This is gonna be such a glorious ride!
You're actually one of the only people I don't mind who pause. Love your commentary and I think this is going to be really fun watching with you. I hope you go up to two episodes a week but I understand if you don't want to. I'll be sticking around though
I have been trying to rewatch this show but it get boring because I know what will happen, so thanks your video is entertaining I can rewatch with you 😊
As you watch this everything will start to come together pausing is fine its interesting knowing how someone looks at things to a person who has already seen it ..your good!!
Lady 🐺 would still have died wether Sansa told the truth or not since the Queen would not let the direwolf biting her son slide and cause Nymeria (the direwolf who actually bit Joffrey) was gone she would still have wanted a direwolf to be “punished”. Also it seems to me that a lot of people don’t realise that by Sansa lying she was not only protecting the Starks relationship with the crown and the Lannisters (who are a very rich and influential House) but also protecting her sister since she did in fact attacked the prince I know it’s frustrating because the little sh!t deserved it but things are not that simple
In case it wasn’t already suggested you should probably get a moderator for your comments so you don’t get spoiled. Also it would be helpful to take notes if you can. There are a lot of characters/names/houses to keep track of.
Danearys can't walk right and has injured hands/feet because she's not accustomed to riding horseback all day and night, and getting blisters from holding/pulling on the reigns for hours. And honestly, despite her going into those lessons to make Drogo happy, it actually ends up helping her make /herself/ happy by learning how to make her voice known in the bedroom, so to speak. So not a bad thing overall.
One suggestion, every time you finish a season yoy need to watch the histories and lores, the backstory is very important. And also explain the areas of the seven kingdoms. Your reactions are very entertaining!
