You are near the Horseshoe, Cromwell, or Tuscany. Take a bus ride and go to Gold Coast, Rio, or Palm west of you. Go east and you will come to Sam's Town. If you go to Harmon Ave and Boulder Hwy you have The Longhorn Hotel/Casino. They have the Chuckwagon Restaurant which is open 24/7.
I’ve had good take out pizza at Ellis Island many years ago and recall their bbq place being enticing but did not care for the long wait. The quality of the steak plate is amazing for that price.
@bestfoodreviewroadtrip7612 - Definitely try Metro. They don't have roasted peppers at Ellis tho so you should go to the Maryland Pkwy location, tho they're randomly closed sometimes. The best pie in town is Dom DeMarco's. It's pretty far from the area you're in (near where I live, incidentally) and not cheap but it's very good pie. The meatballs are excellent and I recommend the pizzettes and try the herb ricotta on the pizza
Paul was given a pastry fork which is also the dessert fork. Amy was given a dinner fork. Amy should also have been given a salad fork which would also have 4 tines like a dinner fork, but with shorter tines and shorter handle. But most restaurants these days other than fine dining disregard flatware etiquette so we all just have to wing it with whatever is given to us.
I went last night, 6/14/2024, and the dinner was $14.99. The steak was tough and inedible. My husband and I took a few bites, and we are bringing the rest home to my husky. The baked potato was old. The string beans and clam chowder were good. DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE, AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the steak. In my experience if you order it rare it's not bad. The main reason I eat there is it's cheap. I would recommend asking for the steak at the barbecue joint
Always ask for locals discount . We get our monorail cards with Nevada license plates. We get our loaded Bloody Mary at Ricks rolling smoke barbecue next to Pawn Star. Local discount on food. Discounts on shows and hotels.
Their prices have skyrocketed. The steak special is $13 not $10 WITH player card special. Their entire menu has gone up $3-$7 across tge board and quality has gone downhill. I no longer eat there as often. Most ridiculous outrageous increase was dessert of brownie sundae from $6 to $13. No longer my go to place for cheap meal. The only shining star is still the brewery (now located in Utah, barrels shipped locally) and 2 for 1 metro pizza slices on Thursday. 😮😢😊
Hi amy & paul...I came across a video on Vegas they gota resturant called John Cutter,(,Its a grill& Tavern) & every Sunday they got deals on steaks its on West Charleston blvd. Justa little bitt further from the strip....thought I'd tell you about it, I hope you all are enjoying Vegas! Take care & safe travels to your next destination!!!
Just a helpful photographic tip period period ask for a large White side Plate put a graphic in against this really shows off the contrast and colors of your food cut after you brought it off your plate. If you have a colorful side dish, like carrots for broccoli through a 1 or 2 pieces on there. Also the human eye likes three colors for great food presentation

The prices were pretty much the only reason to hit anything beside the ribs and Metro Pizza for the weekly BOGO. Now it's just not as good and the prices are too high. You just can't get the good deals anymore. I still go sometimes because I live close by and there are still decent options like the ribs, wings, or patty melt but overall there's just not much reason to go there anymore. I was born and raised here in the great state of Nevada so I've seen a lot of local joints go downhill. This one is kind of a shame. I used to go to Metro with my dad and get the pizza BOGO every week. He usually got me two pies so I could take them home and eat pizza for a few days. It was fun. I usually got sausage and peppers on one and then something like meatballs, onions, and ricotta for the other. I still do it sometimes but not nearly as frequently as when I was younger

We love the Longhorn! Not long ago we shared a review in which we tried the one pound hamburger. So good!

That value meal isn't worth it. Meat is tough, and exterior was a bit burnt. The regular priced meat dishes are better.
