If I stand around or take cover in Doom you will die alot and thus won't be fun. If you just run around aimlessly just firing away in Uncharted you will die a lot and the game will not be fun. The developers of adoom eternal stated this. A good game pushes you into it's systems and if the player doesn't engage with these systems, we kill them. That makes heroes a good game. They specifically made it a certain way and try to incentivize you to engage with those systems but punishing the player if they don't engage with them. If you play Splatoon just rushing in ignoring the objective then you'll lose a lot making it less fun. If you never drift in Mario kart then you'll lose a lot making it less fun. @@joshwillcox7141 what you fail to understand is that heroes is not fun. Even if I don’t understand the materia system in ff7 fully or don’t know every alt path in generations. On a first play through its still fun cause the game is just designed well. Heroes has so many core issues like poor controls, unintuitive combat, poor level design that heavily relies on said unintuitive combat. So excuse me for not wanting to learn how to play the “right way” just for an attempt to have fun. Again. Games like sonic gens, and ff7 are designed well where they are fun right out the gate without having to know all these complicated moves or item and magic systems. But they get more fun when you start to learn them and get better. Heroes can’t even be “fun” ,and I use that word VERY lightly, until I learn how to play the right way? Uh-huh no thanks. If I can only have fun if I play the “right way” that’s poor game design
@@shaulov10 also you're basically asking for a game to reward you for not learning it's mechanics and systems? Why would ANY well designed game do that? No game actually does that? Do you just want every game to let you go anywhere and do anything with any resistance? Why are so many people so opposed to when a game gives the player any resistance? Do people just not like games to challenge the player anymore? Is that why all these overly cinematic story focused games are so popular now? Because people just can't be bothered to learn a games systems and just basically want the game to play itself?
