This demo is great. Beautiful looking, great controls, and that last boss was amazing. Downside, I find both bonus stages are impossible. Another downside is so far, the game is pretty easy, except for the last stage and boss, I just ran through the levels. Maybe add few challenging platforming parts within each act. Either way, it was fun going through the levels.

The only thing missing in this demo is the Super Peel out for Sonic. Also, Sonic's new rival "Turbo", the red robot, has an awfully similar design to Johnny from Sonic Rush Adventure, but their motivations and themes are different clearly, and their color of course.

0:35 they had 1 year of game development the first 2 were for the hedgehog engine the next year was brainstorming then they spent a single year building it from scratch

I hate the fact that one of the coolest features of the game that is the character creator being "locked" in a game with such a lost potential.

I was actually kind of hoping to see some concept art for that angel statue in WWz. This guy probably doesn't even know about it because it's not present in the slightest in the mobile port or the shitty origins port, which for whatever idiotic reason he is playing in this video. I mean, I didn't know about the statue until like a few years ago because I never played the original game, just the mobile port over a decade ago. It's a shame we don't have any concept art of that....

I totally disagree on your take of mania, while yeah there are not that much original stages, all of the past stages are really full of new ideas, or old ideas that were there in other levels but now in those levels, re-imagining them, specially all of the act 2 stages, we're the old and new stages take a whole spin on their own concepts, while also understanding the philosophy of classic sonic's level design and being really fun On the other hand, i just don't think superstar's original stages are...that good, music-wise, level design wise, even concept-wise at times, i find them pretty boring, even when the multiplayer is there i find it really chaotic in the worst way possible, superstar gives you original ideas but their execution aren't really that good.

The CD didn't have enough capacity to hold all the OST in Redbook audio I believe. So all the Past songs got turned to PCM waves to conserve data space. I presume R2 suffered not just from quality concerns, mostly from not being finished in a timeframe for QC presentation, but I wager they cut the R2 Bmix and R2 Gmix with its Pmix obviously to also fit in the DA Garden tracks for Opening & Ending.

He’s the one who literally succeeded in ending the previous timeline. Why does he say these like he regrets it? And in case no one knows this: the entire White Space IS the previous Timeline itself!

I still enjoy Forces but personally, I believe the reason why the game didn't end up reaching the greatness it could have had might've had something to do with the massive amount of money lost from the Sonic Boom license. They spent a lot of money to build up Boom as a new subseries for the past 3 years before Forces released only for the games to sell poorly and the show (despite my love for it) getting placed in a dismal time slot. I think that massive money loss bled into Forces hence why Sonic Team barely got a budget. Could be wrong, but the two are so close to one another that I think it's hard not to consider the two might be connected.

Yea, this makes sense. It's definitely not the original sethiroth we are dealing with. He is much more powerful and seems to know a lot more about what's going on like he's been through this before. I believe it's the sethiroth from the end of advent children. Remember how that fight ended? Cloud says to him, "Stay where you belong, in my memories, and sethiroth says, I will never be a memory." And when he appears in the movie, what happened? The sky turned black, and all the black smoke trails started flying around just how it does in remake/rebirth. Also, the original sethiroth from ff7OG never had a black wing, that only appeared when he came back in advent children and in KH, I think that sethiroth has found a way within the lifestream to go back or cross through realities with all the new power and knowledge he has gained. I also feel like there's strong hints that aerith's death may not be permanent. There seem to be multiple realities or timelines playing out at once. Every altering decision from the original storyline is creating a new timeline, we see this in the zack's scene where he has to decide who to save between cloud aerith n biggs, and it shows you what happens in each timeline that he goes to save each of the 3. It also shows us that objects and people can pass between these realities/timeline with there now being 2 white materia because in a different timeline or reality aerirh gives Cloud the white materia n pushes him back into his own timeline/reality, and how zack was able to stumble his way into clouds fight with sethiroth crossing realities/timelines. I think it's all hinting that they are gona give fans what they have wanted since 1917, a way to save aerith. Altho yous does sound like the more satisfying ending that keeps the original story intact. I guess I'm just still hopping there's a way to save her. Even after all these years and knowing it was coming it was still hard to watch

I just got sonic gem collection for ps2 today and played sonic cd without checking it online first. I love it already and the collision chaos soundtrack is now my alarm clock ringtone 😂 yes I still buy and play ps2 games

Imagine if the Sonic 2 team and the Sonic CD team combined their games to make the ultimate Sonic 2, would've been bigger than Sonic 3 & Knuckles

I personally think frontiers is just the most unappealing game to be to be honest. I played this game and got bored of it really fast because of the gameplay. You just run around realistic terrain as sonic, you collect stuff, backtrack, and play a really short rehashed level. It’s just not my kind of Sonic game. Also Sonic really doesn’t work in realistic locations or areas. It kinda worked in adventure cuz everything was cartoonish and colorful.

This game is refreshing, the visuals and the mechanics all speak volumes of fun and excitement, the music too is awesome. Truly lives up to being the best 2D fan game.

Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 Sonic Heroes "even if I don't find it perfect" Sonic Rush on DS Sonic Unleashed Sonic and Secret Rings "which has potential especially in terms of lore" Sonic Colors Sonic Generations "and the one with Shadow" Sonic Frontiers "sonic in an open world is a very good idea.

Garden theme isn't just theorized to be R2's theme, it is CONFIRMED to be R2's theme, that was also confirmed by Nishimura on Twitter About the thing of Amy being swapped by Sallly, that actually happen, they just didn't change in the game, and I don't know if they ever had the intentions to do so In the american (and not just on the US) manuals of Sonic CD Amy is named "Sally", that's how it released, probably to promote the american stuff such as SatAM Thankfully, in the next games Amy appear, even in the classic era, like Drift 2, Fighters and Sonic R, they changed her name back to "Amy" and that is what they went with in Sonic Adventure onwards thankfully (it's a simillar case to the Fang/Nack situation, but a bit differently) On an unrelated note, I feel like this video could've also covered scrapped content from the 2011 release of Sonic CD, I don't think that there are THAT many things so I think it would be nice as a little extra, things like the level Desert Dazzle Christian Whitehead wanted to include as a homage to Sonic 2's "Dust Hill"/Sand Shower, or the true final boss for the true ending he wanted to include as an extra level named Final Fever post Metallic Madness
