I've been out of the audio world for almost 12 years now and have been having issues trying to remember how to get this done on the 32.4.2. Very much appreciated for this in-depth video. It was a much needed refresher.
Great Video !! if you are using tracks and two live instruments how do integrate the input from your computer with the live instruments? D)) selected channels where the tracks will come in and then open fat channels for the live instruments? Im guessing of course. Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks for your comment. No video for using scenes. The faders on the StudioLive series mixers are not motorized. You can recall your stored fader position using Fader Locate Mode. If you recall a scene with Fader Recalling set to "yes", Fader Locate Mode is enabled and you can use the Fat Channel meters to see your stored fader position. To change the fader after recall, you need to move the fader to its original position and then it will become active. Here is a good discussion of this. support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/210048383-How-is-Fader-Locate-mode-on-the-StudioLive-AI-consoles-different-than-the-classic-StudioLive-consoles-
I have a presonus studio live mixer 24.4.2, I use it as an audio interface but for recording (DAW studio one 5 ) the gain is too small and the wavesform are thin. can I use PreSonus Studio Channel Mic Tube PreAmp to solve the problem, and can I cause noise when using it. thank you for the help
Great video & graphics, best one I´ve run into. The way they should be: very graphical & pithy. But it didn´t mention what I was looking for..... How to insert a graphic EQ into de Aux Sends?
Hi Terrence, I have a Presonus PreSonus StudioLive 32.4.2AI. is it possible to send the line level output to Spdif? It's currently sending the main signal. However, it will be affected by the volume control of the main mix and the output level is low. Thank you, Michael
Hello, I just got the 24.4.2 mixer and I need to create a separate mix for my external zoom camera. I need to have the fat channel and the effects sent with the mix. Not sure if using aux outs is better than a sub mix out?? Thanks!
FX will only be applied to the channels you've assigned the FX to. The FX level on the Aux acts like at the Master fader to control the overall FX output to that Aux channel.
@@denwinton Good to know, thanks. better measure of control than I thought though complete control would be preferable for the occasional performer who is persnickety about what does and doesn't appear in their mix.
how do I link two channels to get a stereo output?, im only getting sound in the left side of my in ears can I link two to get stereo in both ears without a headphone preamp straight from aux?
Thanks for your comment and question. When monitoring, do you really need a stereo feed? I use in-ear and I find stereo unnecessary. Your in-ear gear pre-amp setup should do it for you. A really inexpensive solution is a mono-to-stereo connector from a place like Radio Shack. Put it on your in-ear connector, voila! Sound in both ears. Hope this helps.
@@terrancekawles7693, When using SOLO option, the headphone output is just left channel. As the guy running house sound, I'd prefer to hear solo in both ears, especially when the room is loud. As a musician receiving one of the aux feeds, we have use the stereo/mono switch on the headphone amp to run mono but I can see a need for stereo.. say you want your own instrument and/or voice on one ear and the rest of the band in the other.
From the owners manual: "Stereo linking is done within the Fat Channel. Input channels, aux buses, and subgroups can be linked to create a stereo pair. The stereo pairs are predefined and cannot be changed." pae-web.presonusmusic.com/downloads/products/pdf/StudioLive2442-1642_OwnersManual_EN3.pdf. I thought there was a way to run stereo out of a single aux channel through a XLR cable but haven't figured that out. We may have to use this link feature (mentioned at 0:49) and a Y cable to join two aux channels into a single L/R cable.
This is actually among the most productive 5 minutes I've spent on UA-cam. Thank you.

How about a video showing the connection process for headphone mixes from a 24.4.2 to an Presonus HP 60.

This board is the biggest pile of garbage in sound engineering history. Don’t ever waste your time and money on a presonus.
