sometimes it all depends on the location and the speakers you're using. . . i'm also a beginner in studiolive . . . we're using the 16 channel in our church. . . everyone love the sweet sound coming from this mixer ^_^. . . i hope you guys from presonus would share more about using the fat channel aside from those presets. . . i mean, like based on other user's experiences using these mixers in the real world live situation. . .

AUXILIO!!

    24.4.2
can you have the line in and the mic connected at the same time.
And choose which one to use/return.
Or does the line in kill the mic channel?

I'm keen to buy one of the 16.4.2's but the un re-callable analog gains and only 4 aux sends are pretty annoying.
Also is there a way i can have an additional monitor for level indicators?

With all of the extra DSP on the new AI board why no fat channel available on the aux in a&b

Hey Drummerboy100jh, good question. The StudioLive AI mixers do have a ton of DSP power when compared to the Classic models, but it's not just used on the Fat Channels. DSP resources are consumed by the following features. Hope this helps answer your question!
24 mix buses v. max 18 mix buses on classic
4 FX processors v. 2 FX processors on classic
Fat Channel A/B (two Fat Channels on every input and output) v. one on classic
      16 GEQs v. 8 GEQs on classic
      -12 dB/8va slope on HPF v. -6 dB/ on classic
Sidechainable key filter v. none on classic
Same Fat Channel on all three models (i.e. fully parametric EQ and full-featured gate on 16.4.2AI v. limited gate and semi-parametric on classic 16.4.2)
Direct networking v. computer required on classic
iOS device permission management onboard v. managed through VSL on classic
Studio One 64-bit summing engine v. 32-bit summing on classic
Studio One framework for full Capture and Studio One integration v. limited integration on classic

Hey There! Thanks for choosing us. You may run whatever audio signal you like into your Studiolive to experiment with the Fat Channel. Also, your StudioLive mixer will have included a copy of Studio One Artist. You can connect the StudioLive to your computer and use the demo songs in Studio One Artist to experiment with the Fat Channel, if you like. Have fun!

Hi I just bought the mixer. when I set the fat channel for the audio I had recorded. Does it reflect on the audio when I mixdown on the export audio mixdown on cubase? What do I need to do to make sure the setting i use at the fat channel is reflect on the mixdown. Pardon me not quite sure on how it use.
    Thanks!

Hey Jason, The Fat Channel is set up so that you can either print the Fat Channel processing to your recordings or leave them off. To enable Fat Channel processing on your digital output, press the "Post EQ&Dyn" button. Thanks for checking in!

Hey Thanks for the advice. So does that mean if 1.I had recorded something. 2. Uses the FAT channel to the tweak the sound. 3. File export to Mixdown on cubase I would have the audio I had tweak?
      Thanks..

Jason Wong Yes, as long as you have the "Post EQ&Dyn" button in during recording. :)
