Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
9! I just wish was few min longer. I never saw the movie. Id like to see how conversation ended
10. This brings me pride to my race and my ancestors. People like me are hunted down by white supremacist daily simply for being black.
I walk into a store and everyone begins throwing harsh dirty racist slurs at me, they just don't have the guts to say it out loud. But I can see it in they souls they want me dead.
This movie helped teach me that being black is the best blessing God can give me. Without our race, the world would still be playing in the mud with sticks.
My race built the world. WE Gave the world everything. Now it time to get somenback.
I will be taking donations from my account as soon as I set it up and if you ain't a person of color, I demand nothing less than 500 for ya first donation.
To people of color, all you need to do is say hi and we good. I ain't looking to empty yo pockets.

You gotta admit that he did great for a long time. Everyone gets caught if you do it long enough
That's absolutely not true. I sold various items for over 10 years and voluntarily quit
@@HouseJawn what part isn't true? He did do very well for years! Also if you do it long enough you will eventually get caught! You sold for 10 years you say and never got caught. Maybe you would of got caught after 12 years. I used and sold for about 15 years and never got caught but if I was still doing it ( I've been clean for about 8 years) I'm sure I would of gotten caught by now. There's always that one person that ruins it for everyone eventually
Richie Robert's task force is on par with the Untouchables, they couldn't be bought or killed and took down the best of the best.
it was disgusting at the end of the movie whereby the movie showed Lucas was cooperating to expose corrupt police officers etc, and he was portrayed as if he's a hero. The character is not a hero at all, he's destroyed lives, his own family members, the society and his own people.
Society likes to glorify those types of people. Frank Abignale for instance too how he stole all that money with those checks and pretending to be people. And others. Justice system supposedly is about justice to criminals...yet they are willing to cut deals with those who would break the law like Frank and reward them for their assistance by reducing sentences in jail rather than give them the full sentence which they justly deserve for their crimes. If that's how they treated folks like Frank and others imagine how would be today if Hitler or Stalin been alive, bet they would cut deal with them too.
Ok
The fact is, a lot of good came out of his cooperation. Regardless if he, himself had shown contrition.
Depicted as a hero? Did we watch the same movie?
Those dope fiends, gonna steal for it , die for it , and hope for it .
That first scene REALLY highlights the complexity and weirdness of rascism; the boss dude isn't pissed off about the crime, just that a n-r is behind it, instead of the Mafia. It's okay for them, they're the Mafia. But a black man successfully pulling all that off? Big no no...
Do you really think he said that in real life? They likely just included it because they want us to keep hating each other over skin color instead of banding together to hold the system accountable for what it is doing to us. They need racism. That’s why you have asshole like Jussie Smollet lying to the world over something that was demonstrably false to anyone paying attention. Or remember the Covington kid that CNN said was harassing an elderly Indian? That kid is rich as hell now because they lied… again.
@@fightmilk8613 it wouldn't surprise me; it was the sixties I think, and the F.B.I especially would've had a bee in their bonnet about "affluent" black men. Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr. and Muhammad Ali where all under F.B.I surveillance at that time. Why? Because they were role models, they had influence. And they were successful in their fields. So a black man being able to smuggle in pure heroin without anyone knowing for so long would've REALLY pissed them off!!!
You misinterpreted it, that's why Frank was able to get away with it for so long. Federal prosecutors were in denial that he was above the mafia if the dope business because they were so prejudice. When you're a major drug trafficker and you don't have to worry about the feds and only bribing state level officials, your life becomes about 20x easier.
@@danielmiller9012 Two things can be true at once. The comment you replied is true as well. Racism played a huge role at the end of the day.
Hollywood: Racism was super dee duper everywhere and racism is why they didn't believe him, and I bet they used the n word all the time!!!1
Reality: No black person had ever done this so it was literally unbelievable.
Innocent people got hooked. You gotta pay.
Innocent . Nope ppl wanted to get high and love the feeling that come from it
It's not a joke. He's black....
Why is he defending the mafia ???
He’s not defending the mafia, he wants the mafia to go down just as much. He’s telling Frank that if he doesn’t play ball then he can use his mafia rivals to further his case, and put Frank away for the rest of his life. He plays ball, they all go down. The mafia, his rivals, the corrupt cops, everybody. The whole industry goes down if Frank steps up and testifies.
He lacked respect for the police.
This doesn’t make sense. Why would the prosecutor be at scene with a badge to arrest him? That would never ever happen.! Movie is total bs.
You be mad racist. U mad cuz black people doing better than yall???? Guess what, white folk will be almost extinct by 2050 in America. It will be a place only for us. No more white Supremecy
Racism will no longer exist. Crime dissapeears.
I can't wait. Until then we must entertain yall long enough to get ya women pregnant. No race should be put down just xuz they race.

If I am recalling this correctly, Russel Crowe's character Richie Roberts was a cop/detective. While he was a detective he was simultaneously taking night classes and such getting his law degree. Its based off a true story. He arrested and prosecuted Lucas. Then later he after he opened his private practice, became Frank Lucas' defense attorney. With that said, Hollywood still made it movie worthy so there was a ton of stuff fabricated and such. So a lot was exaggerated and over the top.
@@Doughbizzle1187 ok. Thanks for that. In real life that wouldn’t happen but it is a movie. Thx for info
I’ve seen prosecutors at scenes many times when arrests were being made. They have the ultimate decision on when and if someone gets charged.
@@Bswithjay yes but system doesnt work that way. Ur never ever gonna see the arresting officer also be the prosecutor in the same case. Especially in new york. Doesn’t work that way. Im a retired new york city firefighter. I have idea how system works. U cant jusr be an emt like u said. U have to take a test and go through a lot to get the job. Ur def not gonna be a city cop and prosecutor at same time. Thats just ridiculous
This movie was Garbage, Crowes character never prosecuted Lucas, conflict of interest. 2. Brolins character never existed. No NYPD a cop was ever prosecuted regarding Lucas. 4. They never found out who stole the French Connection dope.
Based on a true story. It's not a biography. Usually means the majority of it is made up for entertainment.
He never prosecuted Lucas but he testified against him and led the charge in gathering evidence against him.
@@tronmcrae Exactly. Much like Ridley Scott's other 2000s hit, Black Hawk Down. Good films but heavily fictionalised.
It’s a movie! 🤦♂️ not a documentary… I think you got confused 😅
It’s a big difference, the idea that the arresting officer would also prosecute the case is laughable.
