first "why u shouldn't buy" "it does not have the typical bmw looks" literally the only bmw keeping a small kidney grill, literally the only one keeping a bmw look and considered a fan tribute after the series 1/3/4 changes
It just doesn't. It's boxy, the front is very busy, the headlights are just single, not double, the taillights are not the classic BMW shape. It's tall... The current 3 series is the only BMW that gets close to the classic looks
@@TunedIntoCarsStill, points missed. This has characteristics of LOTS of old BMWs, including the car it's trying to channel, the 2002 Turbo. Maybe look that one up!
So you bought an AWD, auto trans, modern BMW, and now you're complaining about it's looks, and the fact that it's not a "true" sports car - that seems silly. 👎 These are great daily drivers for folks who want power and luxury with all weather performance.
Honestly, the state of UA-cam at the moment is unbelievably bad. The video is about what YOU SHOULDN'T EXPECT when buying a car like this. I've got a lot of questions about how this car compares to my previous M2, so I've made this video telling people not to expect this to be comparable. It's not that deep, honestly. You just need to listen to words and understand them.
Just bought a used 2023 M240i xdrive with 3,000 miles in Melbourne Red with every option on it including Shadowline, adaptive suspension. Test drove an M2 and beat the hell out of me. Drove this and it is night & day. For me, it’s the perfect daily that gives a great ride and can provide a ton of fun when I want to get on the gas. I love having AWD with the rain we get in the southeast and sometimes the snow in the upper part of the state I live in near the BMW factory here in SC.
This guy doesn't know what he's talking about and your comment ^^ is the general consensus I've heard from the people who drive this car daily. I just don't know what he's talking about...
I have one in thundernight, I get looks and comments everywhere I go. The drive is great and the gearbox is probably the best I've ever had, it's a great package from BMW.
@@bj10jgo I'm just playing around, the purple is a great color I just prefer the blue for me. Purple isn't a color I want to have long term, is what I meant by aging.
I’ve just taken delivery of my new M240. Same spec as yours but no sunroof or adaptive cruise control in thundernight. List was £53k and I got it for just over £47k. BMW were also giving £2500 finance deposit contribution. I think that it’s a great deal of car for the money.
Sorry, i bought it this Jan for my 2023 M240i xdrive and love everything about it. Actually, a few points you mentioned are those i love. I love the look of it since it looks super sporty compared with earlier model. Earlier model 2 looks soft. I love the automatic transmission. I will sometimes drive a very long distance and also might stuck in traffic from time to time, automatic transmission doesn't tire me. I'd agree with the weight and cornering isn't great compared to lighter cars.
So I own a m240i in RWD while my dad owns a AWD one. All the points you made are valid for the AWD, but with the RWD the understeer is gone, the rear tires are wider, car sits just slightly lower, feels way tighter on corners and most importantly it is what a BMW should feel like. Pure fun. The back end is easy to slide out. You can do burnout for days. I mean the car is an absolute blast. Yes the ZF dulls the fun just a little but I do think that if you live in a place where you don’t need AWD and don’t want to spend the extra 20k on a m2 then the RWD version of the m240 is the car you want.
Can you get the xdrive 240 to arse out over steer at all, like is that understeer not correctable with throttle or does the 4wd really prevent that, I'm litterely trying to decide in a rear or 4wd atm, I like to play but am in England and the 4wd would be helpful, can the xdrive still play?
@@EZ-D-FIANTxdrive can still play but the suspension will take a wear, I would never do donuts with mine, it will fry your diff, I learned the hard way and now I have a leaking seal, car still launches hard tho, u wanna have fun w xdrive just put on some dead tires 😂 if your the impulsive type and got bread for tires get rwd
I love mine. I can't imagine being so nitpicky about minor points, it's a great car. Add highly recommend one to anyone thinking about it. It makes the two Mercedes I had look like the hunks of junk they were.
I wouldn't recommend one to everyone. That's the point of the video. It definitely is a great car, but if someone is looking for a sports car and buys the M240i, they're going to be disappointed. It's as simple as that
I’ve had mine for a month now and absolutely love it. It’s my second M240i and the 2024 is so much better tech wise and driving. Love the way it looks too.
I have a 2016 M235i manual convertible I will never sell. But I am thinking about adding the M240i. Big question for you: Any issues with turbo lag? I don’t feel it in the M235i because of the manual - turbo already spooling when I let the clutch out. Just worried that the automatic may come with lag. Thoughts you can share?
I have a ‘22 M240i with high performance fan and brake package with 59k miles. 150 mph on many roads-trust me-it’s a driver’s car. The M2’s automatic is preferred among some enthusiasts, just saying. I love manuals more too, though. Thanks!
Interesting. Thanks for the info. Since were on the Sweden topic, the M240i xDrive is the only 2 series you can buy here. Really weird, because I've heard a lot of good things about the 230i, for example
The M240i is not an AWD only car as you stated, as I own a 2023 RWD and it is absolutely fantastic. I have had a 2014 BMW M235i RWD for many years and I will say the 2023 is not quite the go-kart handling feel of the 2014 but it has other advantages that make up for it. As far as looks, very subjective. My Brooklyn Gray gets a lot of attention and waves almost every time I have it out. This car looks absolutely amazing coming down the road from the perspective of the oncoming traffic on the other side. A strong and powerful wedge look, like an anvil. I recently got rid of the plain Jane factory exhaust and installed a Quad tip axle back Dinan exhaust. Absolutely incredible sound and look.
Great Video!! I actually like how the new M240i looks. This is the reason why I'm looking for one in the states since it stands out from all the rest of the bmws here in california. The tech is alright the only thing I hate on the 2023 model is that they removed the physical shift knob. Everything else from this car is amazing.
What has been your experience living with the car. I understand looks are objective but what about use? Does it have extensive warm up period? Parking experience, can you easily fit into parallel spots easier, visability? Understood its not a track focused car. When you do have a few twists and turns on your way home is it fun for a few minutes? Also does it fit a pair of skis through the passthrough?
Looking to order one. Have been looking at the M340i too, but that one costs 15K more with the same specs. I just can't justify that extra money for a car that is just a bit bigger. And I don't need the extra space. I almost never have someone at the backseat. I went to test a M240i two days ago. It's very good, has lots of grip and the B58 still sounds wonderful. The interior feels very premium, especially with the M seats. But I get that it's a bit boring too. A plus: it's Xdrive, but you can't really feel the 4WD. That was different in the previous generation M140i with Xdrive. The only thing that gives aways that it's not RWD is the fact that it almost never looses grip. And I tested it on Pilot Sport 4 tires in wet conditions at 5° C. The car also had the adaptive suspension, because that is the only one I would consider. It was a nice surprise. Even in Sport it was not too hard. In Comfort the car is a perfect daily car. OK, a manual RWD would be nice, but in current traffic conditions and with the bad weather we have all winter here, I would prefer the ZF automatic and the 4WD system. Especially since I didn't feel in the steering wheel that there is traction on the front wheels too. The M240i is a perfect daily if you don't have to get adults in the back. It's not hardcore though, so I get that it might become a bit boring to some. Thing is also: there is not much competition here, except for the M2 (RWD, manual), but that car costs a lot more in taxes here in Belgium. And everything will be more expensive with an M2. Nevertheless, I get that the M2 is the one to go for if you ride on a circuit sometimes. I never do and nowadays there are not much places around here anymore where you can speed. I love the power of the M240i of course, but I want this version especially because of the B58 6 cylinder engine, no matter whether it has 200, 374 or 500 bhp. Cars have gotten really expensive over the last 5 years, but the M240i still is the best car at this price point.
Yes there is competition, at least back in Sweden. I remember the RS3 being very close in price to the M240i. Equally as fast, a bit more practical and pretty special too
@@TunedIntoCars In Belgium the RS3 is more expensive than the M240i. It's almost the worth of an M2. If an M240i or M2 would not exist at all, the RS3 would possibly the best smaller sporty car. Never drove one, but I'm holding on to BMW's for now. The M240i won't get a successor in a few years, so it's the last real small BMW in my eyes. Not a mild hybrid, 6 cylinders, RWD biased Xdrive, ... The F40 M140i was the last real BMW as a hatchback, now the M240i and M2 will be the last affordable sporty coupés from the brand. There is still time, but if someone wants a new car like this, it's the way to go imho.
Don‘t get your point dude. Everything you mentioned you have known before you bought it. i bought 2 weeks ago a M240i G42 from January 2022. It doesn‘t have the curved flatscreen and real buttons like a bmw from 2018. i was exactly looking for a „OS7“ M240i. it also have the classic „gear lever“ and not just this mini switch. aaaand it has the adaptive transmission, so it behaves much better in curves. and yeah i could change it, if i‘m not happy with that. but i payed 46k€ for a 73k car, with 26 000km and 34monaths of age. it‘s a good deal and i think, it‘s a funny drivers car. and it goes sideways if i want.
It's very simple, i have no idea why people can't understand the simple concept of this video. It's about me buying a car and I've also listed a few reasons why other people might not like.
Put some nice wider wheels on it tune the gearbox and the engine, put KW suspension and you will be amazed how good it is . The best car for the money. 500 hp only with software stage 2 for the gearbox and you will be in the low 11s on 1/4 mile. Bine bine 🎉
The money spent on wheels, the tune and the suspension, will take this car close to Cayman S money. And at that price point, I'd take the Porsche without question
@@TunedIntoCars Really ? 2000 -3000 euro is the difference? I doubt cayman is only 3000 more expensive , porsche always extremely overprice their cheap models like cayman and 911 . The profit for VW from every sold 911 is about 42% . That's what I call a good overprice for deep pocket dumbers . And the cayman is 100% useless for a guy with family. Better buy a gocart and trailer if you are going to drive on a track . Cayman feels so slow and so heavy in comparison with the cart .
Wheels and tires are around 3000. Tune is another 1k and the KW is another 2k. Which would bring the total price close to 60k. Which is very close to what a Cayman S costs where I live 🤷♂️
@@TunedIntoCars 3000 for wheels and tyres??? In Romania you can buy a good set for 700€, the remap is 500€ max for both engine and gearbox . 500hp with ease and almost DCT fast gearshift .
Eu personal n-o consider o masina sportiva. Dar na, asta e doar opinia mea
literally says "it have a double clutch and is heavy and theres no Manual" like making those points "negative". it offers nothing, these are things everyone knows
I got one thanks to some of your videos and immediately put the dinan intake and tune on it. My car is a base car with 3 options. Cooling and wheel package Harmon kardon and the illuminating M colors on the inside. Not one issue besides the dealer damaging it but yeah can’t believe what an amazing car it is for the price. I never regret buying it and I’m not ready to sell it yet either. That being said without a manual I would take my old car, Shelby gt350 if I had to choose.
Your comments about the new M240i's over-reliance on techology/video screens vs hard button controls is a main reason I opted for the 2023 x3 M40i...before it too would morph into a video screen dominated driving environment. The B58 ZF8 speed engine/transmission combo is absolutely excellent. I DO appreciated the M Adaptive Suspension in our x3 M40i and suspect that feature would also benefit the M240i's handling.
Because I needed a "sports" car that could carry four people. And I wanted to try it out and see how it drives. Lots of people seem to be interested in this for no reason :)
I'd have to respectfully disagree. I love my 2023 M240i. I think it's the best looking BMW currently and I get many, many people mentioning it to me. Mine is Brooklyn Grey with black interior. The technology is great on this car and if you want to go back to analog days, that's great but the information presented is far superior and more plentiful than the old speedo - tach days. This car is a rocket (so I could care less about how much it weighs) that handles really well, too. My last one was a stick and I loved it but this 8-speed tranny shifts far faster than I can, and more accurately. To each their own but as soon as I saw this car, and what it could do for the price, I bought one and haven't looked back since.
You can disagree, of course, but it's pretty solid advice. I have spoken to people who didn't buy this car specifically because of the new infotainment screen and how they integrated most functionalities in it. Same goes for the handling. It's a great car overall, no doubt about it, but if handling is your priority you will most likely want to buy the M2. The M240i is more of a grand tourer car. A very good one I might add
Sounds like you bought the wrong car dude. However, if you make enough youtube content about it, then it pays for itself. Im picking mines up next week. It will be my wife's daily and my toy 😊 I think the car is absolutely stunning to look at. The new M2 is stunning too but felt safer getting my wife an xdrive
This car was 52k, after being discounted another 8. So real money is actually 60k. I'm not knocking the car, I've bought it, but I suspect you've kinda missed the point of the video
The RWD is only just becoming available in certain countries. It will be a beast. 376hp through rear wheels only could be a recipe for disaster. But it could also be riotous fun. 😃
Thanks for review - quite useful. Though frankly for exactly opposite reasons than intended - Im kind of convinced now that maybe indeed I should focus on m240ix. Design is not perfect but its 2 series and its hard to expect marvel of styling in this range, but if one would chose some better combination of colors then the worst possible in my view the white with a lot of black and cognac interior (??), it would look much better (and it certainly does). To me shown combination just kills the car (at least make red interior if choosing boring white exterior). Complaining its not drivers car cause there is no manual? Ridiculous. Today's electronic 8 speed outperforms manual every time and if one just wants to feel 'cool', switch it to manual mode and control by either stick or wheel pads. (I never had any need to use it - tried it just for fun now and then but really no purpose unless probably on race track). Heavy? It is for the size. But I never felt it - X drive accelerates admirably and corners not issue at all, nor ever I felt its lacking nimbleness due to not being 100% rear drive (I believe power if not variably distributed, still not 50-50 between rear and front, but then I drove 2025 model). And as to all the trinkets, like remote start (what do you need that for??), wireless charger (convenient but really dont care much), infotament (worst part of every BMW I drove - complicated and illogical, etc.- of least importance to me. One thing I really dislike (aside from most controls been on oily fingers screen) is buttons for switching driving modes - nobody mentioned it, but I really hated it. On my previous car its a rocker switch - you just feel it with finger without looking and quickly switch to one mode or the other (did it quite often). Now its probably the only physical buttons left and these are flat separate buttons for each mode which to press you need to look at to find and worst of all they are located in the same raw as ignition button. Im not willing to try what happens when driving at 80mls/hr and wishing to switch from comfort mode to sport you hit instead 'start/stop' button, thank you very much. So while not immediately obvious, there are some corners cut (intentionally) when it comes to certain features (like you cant switch to 'enhanced' transmission mode by just hitting stick to the left - its not a stick now, but a level) but nevertheless its indeed a great drivers car imho worth the money, but not a replacement for m2.
Hi Paul. Would you consider a M440 instead? I am interested in buying one of these two models and i am not enterily decided wich one should i choose. I tried both models but unfortunately the 2 liter diesel. In my deep of my heart i like the M440 coupe more because of its looks and more premium and spacious feel inside. I like the bigger doors and the fact that its not looking like a lego car (the m240 is too high). But now is the real quiestion, the driving feeling. I see everywhere that everyone gives more credit to the M240 regarding the performance of the car and how it feels in corners, but i see that you are not so pleased with it. I dont really know what to pick because i'm kind of guy who likes to push the car and to feel everything in the car.
I didn't consider the M440i simply because it was much more expensive than the m240i, but not very different. I drove the 430i and I really enjoyed it, but again, it's not that different to the 2 series. However, considering your last sentence, it sounds like you would like an M-car more than the M-performance equivalent
What a great video , sending you a thank you from Florida! Very cool to see that spec compared to what I can get in the States . Your delivery is measured and easy to understand, also liked the progression you had when describing. Cheers!
Hmm.. So.. I guess I will keep my F22(July 2019 - last batch) "M" 230i (B48) a bit longer ;)) (just for the fact that I have analogue gauges AND a physical handbrake Oo). For me the biggest drawback on the newer M240i was the huge screen that is for everything - I want needles on round "clocks" and RWD only not this all wheel thing. But it sounds it's not even that fun to drive. The F22 230i is not a true M car and I know that, but man I still have a lot of fun with it as it's RWD and pretty light :) I hoped I the new M240i would be even better ... PS: The lack of physical buttons for climate control is also a big minus, the radio buttons and hell even the Old school CD player ;)) I still have older CDs with Music that I listen to for nostalgia moments while being stuck on a motorway;)
I see what you did here with this video you're very clever and very slick you just got sick of people saying why did you get that car did a nice job at showing it off and what a great buy it is you are very smart great job
In south Africa we prefer to just buy the 35i or 40i version and just buy an ecu, exhaust and wrap call it a day. Just as fast and louder than an m2 and still not even 30 percent close to the original price of m2
The convertible is much nicer in my opinion. But make one about the difference between m240i and an m4 convertible. I'm interested in looks of it more so. Trying to decide between 2021 m240i and a 2020 m4
what was the last m240 convertible? Price wise, looking at that in 2021 convertible, and a m4 differences. Maybe we can chat if you are knowledgeable on it. I'd appreciate the help. I'll even pay you a stipen of 100 for honest help. Car shopping sucks. lol....also have an audi a5 in thoughts. something under 45k
@@TunedIntoCars basically, i'm saying not much videos in different convertibles that are under 50k.I'm looking, like others, on reliability and affordability.
YOUR COMPLAINTS AND DISLIKES ARE " INVALID ". YOU SHOULD HAVE SPENT THE EXTRA MONEY AND PURCHASED ANOTHER M2. YOU WANT THIS CAR TO BE AN M2 AT 15,000 DOLLARS CHEAPER. I JUST PURCHASED A 2024 M240i X DRIVE AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! I TEST DROVE THE M2 AND I FELT LIKE I WAS DRIVING THE SAME EXACT CAR ONLY WITH A MANUAL IN THE M2. NO MATTER HOW FAST THE M2 IS, BOTH CARS WILL TOP OUT AT 155 MILES PER HOUR. SO DO YOU REALLY NEED TO SPEND 15 GRAND MORE TO GET WHERE YOU'RE GOING A LITTLE FASTER. PLUS, WITH THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM IN THE M240i XDRIVE, YOU CERTAINLY WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WET ROADS AND A LITTLE SNOW ON THE GROUND.
Nothing but compliments on mine. Everyone loves the look and to say this isn't a drivers car is CRAZY! These UA-cam guys are missing big time because they feel like they have to over criticize the beamers and di** ride Audi. There has to be some back room payments going on.
And to say this isn't a drivers car makes me wonder how much you know about BMW Ms and if you've ever owned one as a daily driver. This is just an off-base, inaccurate review. Big miss on your part man and judging by the comments all the M2 owners here agree with me.
1. I'm not a 'UA-cam guy' whatever that means. I'm just someone who enjoys making videos from time to time. Also, never filmed an Audi on this channel and I'm not a fan of their cars either. So not sure what that comment is all about 2. I think you're missing a lot of context here. Because I've explained at length why I think this isn't a proper driver's car. 3. I've owned two M2's. Not sure why this would matter, but there you go. Finally, this isn't "an off-base, inaccurate review" or a "big miss". It's just an opinion which some people don't agree with. And that's fine!
Yeah, but it's sad that mainstream reviews stated the best M240I ever if you don't even need an M2. This car is heavier than 540i for around 10kg. I mean this is ridiculous.
A got damn iPhone Pro on wheels. I'll give you the B58 is a monster with lots of potential but in 5 years, this car will be complete garbage. A got damn screen that controls everything.
Video is total clickbait. He loves the car, and everyone I've talked to who bought one loves it too. They are a ball to drive and throw into corners, and they are comfortable too! The looks are not my cup of tea, but on the performance front, BMW nailed it.
Looks like the majority of respondents disagree with you. To each his own based on needs, expectations, etc. I love this car because it has the Tech and is a 2 door. Plus the BMW history of performance, quality and dependability.
although I don't mind people disagreeing with me, unfortunately the majority have misunderstood the idea behind the video. This is not a critique of this car. It's just about pointing out a few things that some BMW might not like about it. I've spoken to a lot of old school BMW fans and what I've listed in this video are some of the many reasons why they don't like newer BMWs
I feel like this guy is doing nothing but regurgitating talking points from forums and Facebook groups. He bought this car and then made a video complaining that it isn't an M2 essentially.
@@TunedIntoCars well next time be more specific don't just say "there is no rwd variant" just say "there aren't any rwd variants in Sweden" cause your audience are not only from your own country it's world wide you have to be careful with your information cause if I didn't know anything about the car I would believe what you said lol an if I were in an argument with a car friend of mine I would look like an ass so bro you have to be careful with your words
Don't agree with your review. First and foremost, you said in the beginning that you were looking for a sports car. But BMWs were NEVER sports cars. BMW makes driver-focused premium sedans (and SUVs). BMWs are sporty, but are not sports cars. If you want a pure sports car, get a Porsche or a Ferrari. Or even a Supra. Even the pure M cars are not real, genuine sports cars, and never were. They are compromised in size, weight, and need for some kind of practicality and comfort. BMWs are meant to be luxurious sedans that you can drive sporty and have fun. They are not for ultimate performance and agility. So much of your criticism makes no sense. If you were expecting the M240i to behave like a Porsche Cayman you clearly didn't do your research prior to buying. Another mistake is that the M240i is AWD only, it is not, RWD versions are available in most markets and are mostly more fun. Third, the looks, i think the car looks fantastic and is one of the most good looking cars ever made. Especially in purple, and without the Msport additions, i actually prefer the base version's looks. More elegant. The M division always strives to make cars look too aggressive and tuned. As for the suspension, agreed that the base suspension is terrible for comfort, 19inch wheels + sport suspension in such a heavy car makes it really uncomfortable, adaptive suspension is mandatory in the m240i and m2. Seems to me what you wanted to really buy, was a 230i. The 230i is the sweet sport for the 2 coupe in my opinion. It is much lighter especially on the front, so much more fun to turn and easier to brake. You can get pretty much all the extras the M240i has on the 230i, minus the adaptive suspension. You don't lose much in acceleration or engine sound, but you gain a lot in handling. Plus it is cheaper so...
I think you need to listen more. I've not said the M240i is a 'pure' sports car. I simply said don't buy one, if you're looking for a sports car. Different, no? Other than that, feel free to disagree with me on anything. As with anyone talking about / reviewing cars, everything is very subjective. I also disagree with your 230i vs M240i comparisons. The latter is much faster than the 230i (both on paper and in real life), despite the extra weight and I think you do lose quite a lot in engine noise and overall drama. Not to mention, in Sweden they discounted the M240i so much that it was nearly the same price as a 230i. So for me it was a no-brainer to go for the M240i, especially that in the long run, it will hold its value better
2022 G42 is a better balanced car when it comes to the tech ... still has button controls and a better dashboard design. Not the lazy, slap two iPads together design in the 23' and 24' models. This is a great car for daily driving especially if you live in high traffic areas with an average 28 MPG (mostly highway), great comfort and X-drive for those winter conditions. I've had my M240i for 2 years and love it. I've changed the tires, exhaust and suspension to make it more sportier and to handle better ... and at a fraction of the cost for a new M2.
Imo BMW's have been ugly beginning with the E46, this is the first newer one I actually like the styling of, so much so Im deciding between an m240i or an m2 now, xdrive is very tempting to me but the dude wont let me push it in test drives to see how well it plays so Im still undecided lol.....
@@sinenomine4540 Why do you feel the need to tell me E46 is an older design I obviously know and that was my point, bmws have been ugly since then, also saying top 3 design is ridiculous what people like is subjective their is no absolute only opinion.

A lot of UA-camrs in the states that have done reviews on the M230 and the M240 picked the M230. They said that the M230 feels more like a drivers car the handling the steering just an overall better road handling car . And they said the car has plenty of horsepower I'm going to drive both cars next year when my lease is done on my car and see if there right
It's a good thing you don't listen to UA-camrs. You should definitely drive both cars back to back and pick the one you like. It's your money, at the end of the day. Also, those youtubers should know that an M230 doesn't exist in BMW's lineup
The 6 cylinder engine is absolutely vital to fully enjoying this 2 series. I’ve driven them all. The 4 cylinder cars have no emotion. During 90% of driving the M2 isn’t worth it except for tracking. Looks wise lower it and add a rear spoiler and the thing is transformed in to a performance car. The 0-100kph is out of the world. It is a traffic light super car.
first "why u shouldn't buy" "it does not have the typical bmw looks" literally the only bmw keeping a small kidney grill, literally the only one keeping a bmw look and considered a fan tribute after the series 1/3/4 changes
It just doesn't. It's boxy, the front is very busy, the headlights are just single, not double, the taillights are not the classic BMW shape. It's tall... The current 3 series is the only BMW that gets close to the classic looks

So you bought an AWD, auto trans, modern BMW, and now you're complaining about it's looks, and the fact that it's not a "true" sports car - that seems silly. 👎
These are great daily drivers for folks who want power and luxury with all weather performance.
The looks have def grown on me especially after seeing it in person
Your color is the best color for an M240i
@@TunedIntoCars Correction, Portimao Blue is better :D. That purple is not going to age well, IMO.
@@Anthony-bc2cw How is purple not going to age well but blue doesnt. lol
@@bj10jgo I'm just playing around, the purple is a great color I just prefer the blue for me. Purple isn't a color I want to have long term, is what I meant by aging.
I ordered black @ waiting :)
I’ve just taken delivery of my new M240. Same spec as yours but no sunroof or adaptive cruise control in thundernight. List was £53k and I got it for just over £47k. BMW were also giving £2500 finance deposit contribution. I think that it’s a great deal of car for the money.
My M240I has recieved nothing but love and people who surround is and take selfies with it. My spec is awesome.
Good that you like it. It's the most important thing
You picked the worse colour for the car my guy that’s why you never got used to the design.
Such is life. Nobody's perfect
Nothing to be sorry about :)
Are you sure the tires are wider and not just the wheels?
@@TunedIntoCars yes to both actually that’s my fault

It's as simple as that
this video made me want one more
Go for it
Beaty is in the eyes of the beholder,I think it’s a great looking car,and so does a lot of other people.I’m looking to buy one right now.
Hence why I didn't say it's ugly or anything bad about the design. Because it's subjective
This car is just amazing you are just privileged. Drove all my life manuals and I am so over them. Give be a PDK , ZF no problem.
How am I "privileged"?
Thanks!
150mph on many roads... I truly hope you live in Germany and you're talking about Autobahns...
Man, I love this design! It is the only bmw that looks like the old bmw with an American muscle look.
There is RWD m240i variant available. Maybe in Sweden you don't have them.
Interesting. Thanks for the info. Since were on the Sweden topic, the M240i xDrive is the only 2 series you can buy here. Really weird, because I've heard a lot of good things about the 230i, for example
Yes, I own one. Black on black BTW. 😂
@@TunedIntoCars drove a 30i g30 for 4 years. Its a great engine. Ordered the 240i rwd now, iam excited!
Absolutely incredible sound and look.
you're correct. Looks like in some countries, the RWD M240i is still on sale
As of 07/24 the RWD is no longer available in Europe.
I absolutely love mine!! I think it's the best-looking modern BMW. Car drives so damn good it's a blast.
Design is a subjective thing - I loved the G-Series M2/M240i from the first moment. I love the boxed design and all the weird things and angles :)
Really makes me wonder why you even bought it if there is so many things wrong with it
I've never said those things are wrong. I've said that if you're looking for those things, this is not the car for you. For me the car is just fine!

Great Video!! I actually like how the new M240i looks. This is the reason why I'm looking for one in the states since it stands out from all the rest of the bmws here in california. The tech is alright the only thing I hate on the 2023 model is that they removed the physical shift knob. Everything else from this car is amazing.
Nice to see ur reviews back!!! Cant wait for my g87 soon 🎉
I have a 220i which I guess it is much les powerful than yours; however, I am very happy with it
What has been your experience living with the car.
We've been missing you! ❤ Cheers from Italy!
I feel you, but also it’s unfortunate because most cars are moving to big tech features now. It’s a matter of adapting to change
The G42 m240i too high? It's height is 1390mm, the previous F22 m240i was 1408mm tall.
Look at the wheel gap. It's huge
Great to see your video’s again! You have a genuine, factual and relaxing presentation style and don’t add any drama where it’s not needed 👍
literally says "it have a double clutch and is heavy and theres no Manual" like making those points "negative". it offers nothing, these are things everyone knows
the only thing it literally says about the transmission, is that it doesn't have a double clutch
I just bought one, a convertible from 2018 with RWD and none OPF 😃
Tjena, hur mycket köpte du den för och vad ligger försäkringen på? Tack på förhand!
I've mentioned the price of the car in the video. As for the insurance, that depends on the person. So you're better off asking an insurance company
Varför köper du en bil du inte gillar (utseende) ... Jag älskar min M440 cabriolet i Brooklyn grey 😊
Because I needed a "sports" car that could carry four people. And I wanted to try it out and see how it drives. Lots of people seem to be interested in this for no reason :)
Also not sure about the orange interior - don’t they do a deep dark red / maroon?
Not everyone wants a stick shift. Also, you can get it in rear wheel drive. I'm getting one.
who said everyone wants a stick shift?
@TunedIntoCars you said it's not available in a stick shift, then you have to buy the M 2.
Great freaking review actually thanx I think ill get the M2
I would agree with most of what you said. You don’t look Swedish though lol
Never said I was swedish :)
It will be my wife's daily and my toy 😊
I think the car is absolutely stunning to look at. The new M2 is stunning too but felt safer getting my wife an xdrive
show me something for 50K that has that performance with 4 wheel drive and that luxury .......there is nothing .(i dont mean a milk float either)
This car was 52k, after being discounted another 8. So real money is actually 60k. I'm not knocking the car, I've bought it, but I suspect you've kinda missed the point of the video
isn't the M240i all wheel drive? i think it's called M240i xDrive. or is there an option for rear-wheel drive?
In Sweden it's xDrive only. But there are countries where they also sell a rwd variant
Either get the old 2 series or don't buy a BMW if you want to feel the car and push it. That's now what this gen BMW is about.
You bought M440i?
Not shure for which market but RWD is available in Europe and is 5k Euro cheaper than AWD
I tried it few times but passed for gr86 Less refined and less power but more fun

You are correct
Thanks for reinforcing my decision to get the rear drive 230i. I will never part with this car.
That seems to be the sweetspot of this new generation of 2 series
The convertible is much nicer in my opinion. But make one about the difference between m240i and an m4 convertible. I'm interested in looks of it more so. Trying to decide between 2021 m240i and a 2020 m4
But there is no m240i convertible. Not in this generation. The cars you are talking about comparing are two very different vehicles
what was the last m240 convertible? Price wise, looking at that in 2021 convertible, and a m4 differences. Maybe we can chat if you are knowledgeable on it. I'd appreciate the help. @@TunedIntoCars basically, i'm saying not much videos in different convertibles that are under 50k.I'm looking, like others, on reliability and affordability.
The rear look nice just the headlights and square front lets it down.
I reckon the colour of yours white makes it look better tbh… still really hate that curved dash…
This car needs the Msport Pro pack and the adaptive suspension or it doesn't come close to its potential
this one has the pro pack, but you're definitely right about the adaptive suspension. It really needs it
Use it safely. Best wishes Paul
No, they are not invalid. You just don't agree with them and that's fine
So not sure what that comment is all about
The US models come in RWD and AWD
Hard to disagree with any of the criticisms. I had the previous gen M240i and it was a peach.
Yeah, but it's sad that mainstream reviews stated the best M240I ever if you don't even need an M2. This car is heavier than 540i for around 10kg.
I mean this is ridiculous.
In Spain, that configuration costs a little more than 80.000 euros 😢
That's crazy. Is it because of the taxes or?
@@TunedIntoCarsmmm I have no idea, but it seems too much to be just taxes, that big difference between prices have no sense

Thank you!
Definitely clickbait: ua-cam.com/video/s67vVzyLxDo/v-deo.html
@@TunedIntoCars Oh dang. I get to eat my words on this one. My bad.
Nobody's complaining. Sorry about your lack of comprehension. I was simply pointing out what people should expect when they buy this car
the look of the car shouldn't be a reason to not buy it, that is personal preference. the b58 is BMWs most reliable engine aswell
There is a rwd varient of it get your facts right bro😂😂
Not in Sweden
"bro", there is nonein Sweden, "bro"
@@TunedIntoCars well next time be more specific don't just say "there is no rwd variant" just say "there aren't any rwd variants in Sweden" cause your audience are not only from your own country it's world wide you have to be careful with your information cause if I didn't know anything about the car I would believe what you said lol an if I were in an argument with a car friend of mine I would look like an ass so bro you have to be careful with your words
Romanian living in Sweden?
Your complaint is that you didn’t want to expend more money that’s it. You want and M2 Comp but couldn’t afford it. That’s on you.
Huh? I've already owned an M2 Comp. Also, watch the video before commenting. It usually helps
lol the m240 xdrive is now the fastest bmw on the planet? Might want to rethink this video
Huh?
can't get over the new idrive 8 ... I don't like it one bit
At first i thought the same, but I slowly got used to it. However, i do find it annoying that the climate controls are integrated into the screen...
Um not sure why would someone buy or lease a car that they don't like?! I mean you did the test drive and all before signing the papers, didn't you?
Have you actually watched the video? Because I think you might've missed the point
@@TunedIntoCars I watched it. Could it me that the point you are thinking you are making, is not the point people are actually getting from the video?
I own one of the last 2021 m240s made and would have gone with the 2024 but it is UGLY BOX. Also the new M2s look like crap too.
See I think blacked out with the peanut butter interior would change his mind
Change who's mind?
I have that spec for the 230i I agree
I think it’s a beautiful car.
You think it looks good? Sir, you need psych meds because you are delusional.
I've changed the tires, exhaust and suspension to make it more sportier and to handle better ... and at a fraction of the cost for a new M2.
thank you for your candor, it confirmed what i suspected
Imo BMW's have been ugly beginning with the E46, this is the first newer one I actually like the styling of, so much so Im deciding between an m240i or an m2 now, xdrive is very tempting to me but the dude wont let me push it in test drives to see how well it plays so Im still undecided lol.....
F87 is top 3 BMW design and came much later than the e46.
@@sinenomine4540 Why do you feel the need to tell me E46 is an older design I obviously know and that was my point, bmws have been ugly since then, also saying top 3 design is ridiculous what people like is subjective their is no absolute only opinion.
Disagree with this take. Drove one for a couple of days and this is more bimmer than most of the recent offerings from BMW.
Design is bad ass, and sets itself apart. Sorry man, bad ass look
Should call it a Stormtrooper
my m550i will walk that while I get a back massage
The M550i is a proper car and slightly quicker, yes. But I have no clue what that has to do with this video 😁
Just sell it m8 it must be terrible . LOL .....there is such a shortage it will sell instantly.........i had the last gen and will be getting this G42 ,looking forward to the extra traction thats for sure....
Ok. I'll sell it then
52000 euro is an absolute bargain! Guess the low Swedish krone is to blame/credit for that
Like I've said in the video, BMW has slashed prices for M240i's, as they weren't selling. But the weak Swedish krona is definitely a factor
What an ordinary review.
This was not a review 🤷♂️
God the back of it just doesnt get any better. Its a disgrace. Makes it look like an old kia
@@TunedIntoCars I stand corrected the 230 with the M package
The 6 cylinder engine is absolutely vital to fully enjoying this 2 series. I’ve driven them all. The 4 cylinder cars have no emotion. During 90% of driving the M2 isn’t worth it except for tracking. Looks wise lower it and add a rear spoiler and the thing is transformed in to a performance car. The 0-100kph is out of the world. It is a traffic light super car.
@@neillgowans4350 strongly disagree, the smaller engine also comes wiht less weight which makes driving these cars NIGHT AND DAY better.
