  • My quest for a DoorDash 70% acceptance rate continues with my sights set on the Diamond Program and Top Dasher if I can withstand all the bad orders DoorDash throws my way. Hopefully the earnings are worth it once I get there.

Acceptance rate seems not to matter.... those "diamond" orders are small milage but nickel and diming. You will work your rear off for $15. Meanwhile, someone else grabs the higher paying lower milage orders.

After watching multiple content creators raise their AR I definitely feel like there is a trend. I raised mine too so I’m included in this.
You start taking orders you previously wouldn’t take JUST to maintain your AR. You’re still fully aware that it’s a sucky order.
    Anxiety turning the app on
Turning the app on just to turn it right back off after declining a couple orders in a row
Sacrificing completion rate to maintain AR
Doordash is toying with our emotions because they know how much work it took to raise AR up and how quickly it can crash back down. I will say I’m only able to do breakfast/lunch most of the time so I’m sure sticking to dinner is a better experience.

Summed up EXACTLY how I feel about it.. It took a lot of grinding for me to get above 70 AR. Then I felt exactly how you described.. anxious about what offer I’m going to be sent because I “have” to take it to keep my AR up. And I also messed up my completion rate as well. After about 2 months of doing that, I finally decided I’m done. Felt great only accepting offers I felt was good, and not worrying about my AR anymore. Like he said in the video, the visualization and diamond on the “high paying” orders that pop up, does make it feel “special”. But done with that now.

I do not understand why some of you content creators sugarcoat your earnings. You say 77.00 in 3 hours but you were online 4 hrs and 21 minutes. It’s like you are trying to please the DD gods by misrepresenting your hourly pay to other drivers.

they both are misleading, i can be online for 10 hrs but im sitting at home and only leaving the house if i get an order i like. You seem to making the case for cherry picking even stronger. Most of those orders would be auto decline for you. My theory still is that as long as you have LOP and catering you’ll be fine. I can take 1 or 2 orders an hour and make $30 an hour. Why would I want to take 4 or 5 and make $25? If you are constantly busy with the small orders you just never see the big ones. And the big ones are out there everyday.

The true trick to keeping an AR up, is location. I've been between 70-85% for months, and although it doesn't do me much good, I realized that going to a decent high-paying restaurant in a active location, keeps me in a high range.
To do the opposite, park close to a McDonalds in a rough hood.

Told ya, the higher the acceptance rate, the crappier the offers get. I am now back down to 10% acceptance, and got 2 decent catering orders last night. But I kid you not, I had over 70 declines just on DD last night. I am just not going to take their garbage deliveries. Was the worst Tuesday in a long time, did $127 for 5 1/2 hours... not good. But at one point last night out by Sophi's kitchen, I got 3 orders in a row over $10 for going 4 miles total. Im like ok, this is getting better, and then right back to garbage :) We cannot have a stellar day every day, and last night was my stinker of the week. Tonight I expect $150+++ for 6 hours.

I haven't worked DD in a long time and my AR is 94%, CR is 99%. My acceptance rate should be 98% but the app cheated me out of a few orders.
None of the videos I've seen have made me want to go back and when I drove, most of the orders were tiny and if I refused them, I'd be sitting for an hour with nothing and then quit. I'm not sure how people are getting such a high quantity of orders (no matter what kind of quality) and I work in a city where it should be very busy. I see drivers everywhere during lunch and dinner so maybe there are too many drivers, idk.

Id go broke trying this. DD only sends me about 2-3 orders an hour and my AR is like 43% which isnt terrible, not like 6% ha. Problem is everyone and their mom drives here in Vegas. I see 3-4 other drivers in just about every, single restaurant I go to. Sometimes, like at Panda Express yesterday around 2pm, there were more drivers waiting for orders than customers and thats a TUESDAY afternoon. You can imagine how many are out driving dinner shifts and weekends. $33 an hour and $77 in 3 hours is a dream. I had $7.50 in my first hour yesterday and only made $81 in nearly 7 hours, thats running both DD and UE. I average around $15 an hour. I clearly need to move.

Now that you got your AR up, ultimately dinner shift is going to be the best orders you will get. Lunch can be hit and miss as they are usually just small meals and why I will multi app with UE to increase my earnings.
Also being on LOP you should also get more of them than you usually do, especially on weekends. So AR does also help LOP, IMO. I myself have gotten stacked LOP's back to back and have made close to $200 in 2.5 hrs before. I also find it is better not to sit in hotspots and try to position myself in the middle of good restaurants as far as 3 to 5 miles in-between them DD usually calls me sometimes 5 to 7 miles away from really good orders $35 and up and then its only another 2 to 3 miles the customer.
Also as you mentioned in your last video DD will actually give you orders back to your zone if it draws you out. Another trick is if another zone is having peak pay, check dash along the way and you will find it gives you peak pay even if not in that zone yet. Have also had DD send me out of the peak pay zone for several orders at a time . I still get peak pay and its more like UE where I just can keep getting orders without having to return to my zone. Or DD has new feature in my area where it asks if I want to switch zones, But I only do it if my original zone doesn't have peak pay anymore.
Keep it up, it is a learning experience and you actually have to relearn how to dash. You cannot follow old habits, as they do not work anymore. IMO

    • @vikings7683
      @vikings7683 10 місяців тому

Oh and your right thinking DD is giving you more stacks, so don't be to worried about even going as low as a $1 per mile as it will usually be stacked with another making it worth your time mileage. But use your own judgement as it may drag you out of your zone. But again it may just give you another order right back into your zone. Just to let you know you will also have priority in other zones even if you did not start there over other dashers with lower AR's that were signed into the zone where you weren't and why it while give you an order back to your zone more often than not. Especially during dinner hours.

Why play their game? UberEATS doesn't game you. Run a 5% DD AR while primarily working Uber and just take the 3-5 decent DD offers per day.
You can do 2 trips per hour, maybe 3. 4 if you get stacked well. Mileage matters for cost, but hourly rate. I don't care if you're doing 1 mile orders; you won't do more than 3 per hour without a decent stack. So, if you're taking ANY $5 orders, you are dooming yourself to $15 an hour minus expenses... LOL, that kid at McDonald's who just got your last delivery order wrong earns more than you at that point.
